Icing on the Cake: Tarot Forecast, Jan 30 – Feb 4, 2017

I blame astrology–but one recurring theme of my life has been people that I care about exiting–sometimes quite dramatically.

I know, I know, we all deal with this to one degree or another. But it’s been notable for me, at least to me. It’s been a function of my life for many, many years. Important relationships, poof! Friends, sure, but also close family. I have not always taken this well mind you, but maturity has helped me make a lot of progress on that front.

This feature of being me has given the opportunity to find lots and lots of different perspectives on the phenomena. And being who I am, I always look for the perspective that feels best to me.

Our connections, meaningful as they are to us, giving so much fun and love and healing and growth, are all interludes in our lives. We each live inside our own hearts and heads with our own, unique perspectives and no amount of explanation or persuasion can fully admit another. And that’s beyond okay; it’s how this works. That’s how we’re built. It’s a gift, really, when we can share bits and pieces of it with another, but wholly unnecessary for a happy life.

Think of it like icing on the cake. It’s great to have icing but with or without, the cake still tastes good.

This week coming up? It’s a lot like that. The only thing that really matters is sticking true to who you are. This is your cake. Let the universe ice it.

This week’s forecast audio…

The week as a whole may require you to step back a bit to get your orientation, so take your time and let the week’s events roll over you. There is a very clear flow to this forecast, gradual and progressive. I’m seeing/feeling plenty of hysteria out in the wild–so you’ll have to make the choice to opt out if you’d prefer not to ride on that train. Disciplined focus and a determination to feel good are your tickets to a better experience.

Especially notable in this week’s draw is the number of Sevens–the sixteen of the Tower reduces to seven, and we’ve got the Sevens of Wands, Pentacles, and Cups, along with the Chariot, Seven in the Major Arcana! Tarot Sevens offer a clarifying force: focus, drive, and turn points are often called into play. There’s also a sense in Tarot sevens of being separate, standing alone to make one’s decisions while the rest of the world does whatever it does. So if you keep that in mind, you’ll have more success.

Let’s hop on in to the day-by-day and see what we’ve got going.

Monday, Rebuild (Tower) – This angel has lots of heart energy going on…a very soft interpretation of the Tower. Take wherever you are, make peace and start focusing on what you want. Read: focusing NOT on what’s wrong, what might be wrong, how long it will be wrong, how to force the wrong out of your experience. Focus on what you want, and ways you can add that energy in your life. Focus is not the devastation, but the rebuilding. This works from applying it to yourself, all the way out: to your family, neighborhood, country, or world. I recommend focusing on what you want to build!

Tuesday, Strengthening Bonds (Ace of Pentacles) – Look for common ground. You disagree on 25 things with your neighbor but agree on two? Focus on and explore the two you agree upon! That’s the basis for moving forward. That is the only space in which progress is possible.

Wednesday, Base Chakra + Love (The Lovers) – Security and stability comes from the heart, not external circumstances. If you want to offer that to others, or find it for yourself, come at it form a heart space. Look for and express love and kindness. Focus on the energy of love and kindness to activate the vibration of love and kindness. If you are feeling a bit alone, to activate more love, focus your attention on things that help bring out that energy for you. A pet you love, food or a movie, whatever, doesn’t matter what it is. Just feel the appreciation, as appreciation is the same family of vibration as love, so it will activate love. Love is always good medicine.

Thursday, Choose your Battles (Seven of Wands) – Self-explanatory, don’t you think? Trying to get others to be you is always a losing proposition, so I never recommend it. ‘Nuff said.

Friday, Awaiting Results (Seven of Pentacles) – Don’t push to know all the details, how it’s all going to be, now, now, now, now, now. Set out your intentions and be clear, and let the world morph around your clarity and focus of feelings. The results of the vibration you’re offering will settle themselves.

Saturday, Daydreams and Decisions (Seven of Cups) – Lots of visions dancing in your head. Mentally a very active time. You get to decide what you focus on. Let your mind wander, sure, but steer it towards the “wouldn’t it be great if…” end of the scale. Make any necessary decisions, WHILE you’re in a good feeling place.

[bctt tweet=”Make decisions steeped in the feeling you want for the outcome. #OnMyRadar” via=”no”]

Sunday, Move (Chariot) – We’ve had some clarification this week. Monday, we decided what we want. Tuesday, we searched for common ground. Wednesday, we helped ourselves and others feel a bit more secure, coming from a heart-centered place. Thursday, we acknowledged not everything is worth fighting about, Friday, we sat back to let the flow come. Saturday, we get into a good-feeling place with our imagination and make decision from that good-feeling place. Sunday, you may have the option to take some action on it–inspired action, that comes from being connected, plugged in and being in a good place.

Overview/Advice, Darkest Fears (Nine of Swords) – Some of what you feel is “wrong” is worry, imagination used against yourself. Understand the yucky feelings you may have may not be premonition signaling an eventuality, but more born of personal fears. Look for where you can come together with the portion of your experience, however humble it may be, that you find is representative of what you want to see. I don’t mean come together to complain! Look for areas of commonality, harmony and agreement. This will help soothe and even out your energy, giving you more clarity. It’s a step towards living a happy life, which is kind of why we’re here.

Hope that’s helpful and hope you have an awesome week.

How’s your cake coming?

Easy Does It: Tarot Forecast, Sept 5 – 11, 2016

I’ve been nurturing a new practice of late, looking to lift my personal vibration. Tuning and turning up my connection, you know? Becoming more sure-footed in knowing and consciously, deliberately guiding my emotional state rather than leaving it up to the whims of whatever conditions I’m observing. Fostering a less conditional, more internal brand of happy. Intentionally setting my tone and looking for confirmation of it. As you expect and look for confirmation, it turns it up.

If you do this for a while, you’ll notice things. You’ll begin to see the output of your vibration in what shows up in your life and how smoothly things work out. Not everything shows up in the form you’d want–but “problems” become far less problematic and more just part of the road. Less emergency, more Universa- GPS reroute. More faith and more knowing, it IS all alright, always.

We’re all always on the path but sometimes? The Universe provides us a shortcut through some muck. But it doesn’t mean we’re not still traveling.

Hold in your mind the image of a feather, slowly drifting to and fro from the sky. The feather floats this way and that, based on how the breeze is blowing. If you want that feather, you can either watch and lightly wait for it to land. Or you can try to chase it down coming in like gangbusters–the faster you run and grasp, the more likely all that motion is going to cause that feather to float the other way and maybe elude you.

EASY does it. Watch the feathers come down softly and then go over and pick it right up. That’s how you handle this week.

20160904_122945_HDR

As you might expect in eclipse season during a Mercury retrograde period, there’s a clear sense here of rethinking and reviewing a whole lot. I’d advise a slower pace this week, building in plenty of time to recoup and relax into the flow. This will net much better results than acting out frustrated impulses.

[bctt tweet=”Take action in the EMOTIONAL state you want to carry through outcome #LOA #OnMyRadar” via=”no”]

Monday, Two of Swords: Take your time as you move forward today, and don’t speak or act on a decision until you have a clear, emotional indication of which route to go. Meaning, make the choice that gives you the most positive emotion as you’re mulling it over. The energy you bring into the decision will carry through to the results.

Tuesday, Six of Pentacles: This is a great time for generosity–even (especially) the kind that doesn’t require you cracking open your wallet. Give freely of good intention, benefits of the doubt for all, assuming the best, and taking nothing but love “personally.” This advice works best when applied from the inside first, going out. Start in the mirror and then share, share, share the good will.

Wednesday, Six of Swords: Possibly tired and a bit worn down, we’re still getting where we’ve intended to go.  You job is to just keep doing what you’re doing and take good care of yourself in the process. Anything that makes you laugh is particularly potent medicine right now.

Thursday, Justice Rx: Be aware the inclination to get all wrapped up in what’s “fair” and “right” and “should be” today. Honestly? It may cross your brain more than once, but pretty much nobody sports righteous indignation gracefully. It’s just not that graceful and it usually feels pretty crummy. Don’t look to re-calibrate the world and try to force others to fit into your idea of balanced and rightness. Recalibrate yourself, get your own bearings and stay solidly rooted in your own energy. The balance needed is within, always.

Friday, Eight of Cups: In this, some may see sadness or not caring anymore. Me? I see freedom, big and bold freedom. There’s been an undercurrent of bother this week about how the rest of the world is not doing as it “should” and therefore, it somehow falls upon our shoulders to set the world straight. That’s a futile and ugly endeavor if ever I saw it. A sweet release of all this baggage makes it so much easier to just BE who you want to be without bothering about whether the rest of the world is who you want them to be. You know? With that approach, you can continue on your own journey unimpeded by baggage that is not of your packing.

Saturday, Ace of Swords Rx: Less thinking, more feeling. Less talking, more listening. Less planning, more adapting. FEEL your way through today.

Sunday, High Priestess: Make sure you give yourself a chance to plug in and feel good! Imagination and visualizations are especially powerful right now. Get yourself in a good-feeling place and play with ideas of what you’d like to manifest in your life. Then allow inspirations to come as they will over the next few days. Quiet downtime, nature breaks and naps are all potential sources of wonderful inspiration.

Overview/Advice, Page of Pentacles Rx, Strength: Strength popped out of the deck before I started to throw cards, so I added her as a modifier to the advice section. This is a perfect combination for Mercury retrograde, when plans and communications tend to go a bit wonky. Gentle, persistent patience is what’s required this week! A light touch, but coming back to double check all that’s important to you. Understand you may have to do and redo a little here and there, so expect it and remain calm throughout. That will get you there.

20160904_123044_HDRAffirmation: I can create my world as I choose. I know, I know. “Why would I create this?” That’s what some would ask.

No matter what your situation, how you look at it–how you think about it and hence, how you come to feel about it–completely determines the emotional tone of the experience. If a thousand people share an experience of the same event, there will be a thousand and two different experiences of that event. (A couple are gonna be wafflers, man.) Your emotional experiences are INTERNAL, not asserted upon you from the outside world. And that is how you begin to create your world as you choose it. Funny thing about that, though. As you line up the energy to experience what you’ve got in the best, most optimistic way that you can? The external circumstances begin to line up to match.

How you doing out there?

Ground and Center: Weekly Tarot, Aug. 15 -21

For many years, I’ve felt like my life worked out pretty well, overall. But never, ever on my timetable! It seemed the harder I wanted something–unless it hit the point of overwhelming desire–the less likely it was to show up for me.

Of course, we tend to notice that dynamic most on subjects where we’re not where we’d like to be. The ones we are? Kinda taken for granted.

But a funny thing about that. Sometimes, when I’d eventually just forget about it and give up? What I was wanting showed up. Once I was able to set aside the worry and fuss and thinking, thinking, thinking about all of it, sometimes it would work out in the background. The Universe appeared to be on it, as soon as I’d get out of the way.

This week? Leave the heavy lifting to the Universe so that life can just unfold as it will. Your job is to manage your own emotional state. Ground and center, yo.

20160813_142554_HDR

The first thing that jumps out about this week is the number of inverted cards. Typically, a spread with this many reversals is going to point to a sluggishly moving week. We’ve got a mix of Tarot suits, so no one elemental energy predominates. Most of the cards showing up are not super uncomfortable energies as far as that goes, but they will be partial, slowish, or otherwise less than forthright in their manifestation. That’s fine, though. The big thing is that you stay centered throughout, not tossing this way and that due to what’s going on circumstantially. Because if you can get your center no matter the situation? You’ve got it made!

Monday, Nine of Swords rx: Anxiety letting up a little today. Take any openings here and run with them by consciously soothing yourself and directing your thoughts from anxious spirals to more comforting territory. Sometimes we worry as if the act itself will somehow prevent disaster when it’s pretty much the opposite. When we vibrate disaster, it has an uncanny way of finding us.

Tuesday, Ten of Pentacles: Solid money day; great time to reconnect with your “heart family.” Feeling at home and making space to feel appreciation for what “home” means to you turns this lovely vibe up. Good food, also highly recommended!

Wednesday, Page of Wands rx: One step at at time still counts. In fact, it’s the surest way to keep moving ahead. Making peace with where you’re at is not the same thing as condemning yourself to an eternity right there. It’s actually the first step in moving ahead.

Thursday, Justice rx: Ground and center, ground and center, ground and center. It feels like a whirlwind outside. I’m seeing storms brewing outside the door of your little cabin. Get yourself inside! Separate from disruptive people, places and situations to the best of your ability–either literally or in terms of the attention you pay–and hunker down in your own happy place. Ground and center.

Friday, Strength rx: You may doubt your own abilities, but that doesn’t mean those doubts are accurate. Focus on thoughts that enhance your feeling of self-confidence.

Saturday, Nine of Cups rx: Don’t pick out the little thing that’s not exactly to your liking to give attention to. Select all the bigger things that are! You always have a choice in how you feel, executable by your selection on what you think about. Just keep reaching for the thoughts that give a little relief from where you are to step your way up the emotional ladder.

Sunday, Five of Cups: Okay, this card is sad. No getting around that–the Five of Cups is a card of loss. It’s not total loss (hence the remaining, standing cups), but it might feel like it in the moment. Keep up your self-care routines and continue edging your way up the emotional ladder by thinking thoughts that comfort you. It gets better.

Overview/Advice, King of Swords rx: Don’t overthink it this week. If it feels good to think about something, that’s reason enough to indulge yourself in those thoughts! If not, that’s reason enough to step back. Let your feelings guide you as much as you can.

Affirmation – Sensitivity, Archangel Haniel: “You are extra-sensitive to energies and emotions right now. Honor yourself and your feelings.”

No feelings are wrong. But some are certainly more pleasant than others! We can keep reaching for the feelings that feel better by consciously directing our thought processes  A lot of our pain and angst is totally unnecessary. Being sensitive? That’s a wonderful thing. It makes it easier for us to get connected and stay connected and get all those beautiful nudges and urges from our intuitive guidance system and nothing serves us better. But as our sensitivity may be turned up this week, it also means we must be extra mindful of caring for ourselves. Imbalances in energy are amplified under these conditions. So ground and center! And be kind to yourself.

Be well!

Timely Unfolding Tarot, Aug 7 – 13

Quantum leaps always sound so great, don’t they?

I want to get from where I am, to ========> over here, NOW.

Now, now, now.

Cue Veruca Salt.

I get it. I do.

But quantum leaps often don’t feel better than gradual, steady progress forward in the real-world living.

Quantum leaps usually come from Tower moments–significant disruption. They are disorienting and often born out of crisis or boiling point. They are intense. They can be challenging.

Whereas steady step, step, step in the direction you want to go? Much easier.

Trying to force or push a big jump forward is usually fruitless anyway. Instead, settle for an ongoing reorientation towards how you want to feel, over and over and over. Reorient towards the feeling place you want to be the same way you’d check your travel route against a map. That will carry you through and it’s a whole lot easier than trying to will yourself to teleport.

20160806_154544_HDR

The flow of next week pretty much jumps out here: slight sludge through the start, swinging into brighter weather midweek and ending on a high note. The beginning isn’t awful, it’s just got the potential to be twitchy here and there. So take it slow and steady and be kind to yourself through the process. Making peace with wherever you are will allow the smoothest flow.

Monday, Queen of Wands rx – Keep your temper monitored to keep from turning into a McCrankyPants. Because that’s no fun for anybody. Just take your time through the day and any time anything isn’t where you want it to be? Take a step back. Breathe deeply, in and out. It’s not hard to stay on solid ground here as long as you remain aware of your emotional state and make any adjustments before it gets ramped up. I don’t see this as an overwhelmingly intense day. Just little pokes here and there, which are easy enough to sidestep if you’ve decided beforehand, you will sidestep.

Tuesday, Moon rx – Scorpio moon day. There’s a sort of wariness, like the theme is “undercurrent.” I would almost say, it’s something like air has some thickness with what’s not being said. Nothing to do with it. Just don’t go full-on paranoid if you are feeling this, because the week sorts itself out within a day or so.  I’d suggest invoking your Scorpio power and observe the Hell out of it all. And happy birthday to my Kidlet!

Wednesday, Six of Cups rx – A relaxing of scrutiny. Overall the tone is lightening up here and the sense of sloughing through is largely lifted by this evening. Have a relaxing evening.

Thursday, Knight of Cups – Appreciation flows freely today, back and forth. Focus on what you love and share the wealth by letting people know you appreciate them. It can be little or big, those close to you or at random strangers. But if you make the choice to focus on appreciation, it returns exponentially.

Friday, The Lovers – A harmonious day! This feels easy and fun to me. Clicking into place. Enjoy your day!

Overview/Advice, Judgement – Do the best you can individually and don’t concern yourself with what others say of you or what they do themselves. All things will sort themselves out in the end. This is a “keep your eyes on your own paper and let God sort it out” kind of week. If you do that, though, you’ll be able to glide through and feel pretty good. So do it!

Affirmation – You know what to do. You get quiet and peaceful and as calm as you can. You allow yourself to plug in. And then? You act when you feel the inspiration, doing what feels the best.

[bctt tweet=”Your connection never goes away. You just have to shut the brain up long enough to hear it. #OnMyRadar” username=”goddess_dix”]

Everything happens in the time and place that can allow for it, and not before (or after). If you approach the week ahead with patience, and a slow, steady determination to make the best of wherever you find yourself, you can have a pleasant week overall and make some progress toward what you want. Doesn’t that sound like a plan?

It’s my plan!

In short: don’t bitch at yourself if your life hasn’t unfolded just so. You’re not done! The flower blooms at just the right time and so do you. Patience isn’t so much a virtue here as a provider of some ease. I’m all about taking the ease whenever possible.

Priority is your peace of mind and connection. If you keep coming back to that, maintain your center, then everything else smooths for your path. I’ll take it!

How you doing?

Does it matter, what’s in the basement?

creepy-basement-light-1565777-1278x769“Dixie, do you think it matters, what I store in my basement?”

“Yes, I do. I really do think it matters quite a bit.”

If you look at the maxim, “As above, so below,” and “as below, so above,” and if you live in my world, you see everything as a network of energy. You think of everything in terms of what energy it adds or burns.

And you realize, the above part and the below part tend to work in rough sync.

That’s why you can have medical intervention that changes your life emotionally. And why you can do emotional interventions that changes your health physically. That’s why magic spells work. The symbolic representation in the physical manifests outward. It starts ripples in motion.

And this is quite true, in terms of stuff. It can retain vibrations from its past, connections to its former owners (particularly depending on how they currently feel about the stuff), imprints of the kind of emotion and activity that’s happened nearby.

Have you ever looked at something or picked it up, and got a really good, warm feeling? What about going to a place where you instantly felt comfortable? Being around an animal or person, where you felt good, and at home?

Or maybe you’ve had less pleasant experiences as sudden, inexplicable but maybe visceral reactions. These are related to the energetic qualities and imprints.

I find the environment an item is in, the emotions most consistently displayed in its vicinity, the purpose of the item, the relationship to its owner, etc. all play a role in what kind of energy physical stuff picks up. And the MEANING of the item, both generic and personal, play a part as well.

Stuff that’s not used for its intended purpose, stuff that’s packed away and just sits, tends to add staleness to a place’s energetic temperature. It’s like filling your energetic space with waste, withering plants, deadness, lack of fulfillment, you know? Stuff that’s not fulfilling a purpose becomes a burden. Carried out of obligation perhaps, or fear we’ll one day need it, or guilt we haven’t utilized some resource as effectively as we could.

It can pick up residue from our feelings surrounding it and make those feelings less transitory and more concrete.

And even if you don’t feel like that energy impacts you because you’ve effectively managed it, processed or neutralized it, it’s still THERE. Which means there’s quite probably some of your own energy budget that is required to keep those vibrations out of your everyday awareness.

Stuff also maintains energetic imprints from owners or how it was used. You can specifically clean items, smudge or use salt or holy water or sound cleansing or what-have-you to remove “energetic residue” but depending on what it’s picked up and how embedded, some stuff can’t easily be salvaged or may not be worth the trouble.

If you want new into your life, the best way to get it is release old from your life. This creates a vacuum.

But understanding this has a very helpful dynamic: you can use physical items to distance or lessen ties to individuals, situations, and other dramatic or difficult circumstances that you don’t want to invite into your world. Consciously make choices about what you store.

Especially in the basement. Because what is the basement? It’s the foundation of your home. It’s the building blocks you trust to keep you held up, safe from outside weather and threats. It’s what you and everything else in your home rests on, you know?

Now, I’m not saying freak the Hell out over every piece of clutter in your home. Nor am I claiming the effects of too much or the wrong types of stuff is going to be violent or immediate. It’s gradual, like dust bunnies and it builds up over time. Especially if you’re not one to smudge a lot.

I have found it TREMENDOUSLY helpful to slowly, gradually and mindfully migrate stuff out of my life. Start a donate box or something similar and as you come across things, pick it up, observe it. Notice how it feels, and remember, who or what an item is connected to for you.

“Is this energy I want to keep in my life? Does this still fit my life, and who I am in it at this point?”

In the kitchen, ask, “Does this help feed me?”

In the bedroom, ask, “Does this bring me peace?”

In the basement, ask, “Does this help support me?”

In the bathroom, ask, “Does this help revitalize and heal me?”

In the living room, ask, “Does this help entertain me and bring me joy?”

In the attic, ask, “Does this offer me protection and connection?” (Thanks Cat for the reminder!)

In the hallway, ask, “Does this aid in smooth, healthy transitions?”

I especially like to do this slowly, gradually when I’m cleaning for new or full moons. That way, the energy surrounding me is transitioning along with the energetic shifts of the moon cycles. I always go by my feelings and nudges and don’t stress about how fast or how slow it’s going. I just stay tuned in to how I feel about the process to gently, gradually trudge my way through.

Then? I smudge the heck out of the space! Clean it, smoke it. Bless it. Protect it, set your boundary. (You can do this however you like, really. Blessed salt–which you can bless yourself, it’s your damn house–holy water, protective oils, plant guardians, deity statues, animal friends, angels, guides, house spirits. Do what you find meaningful or ask for spirit help from whomever you work with. It’s about finding what resonates for and with you.)

I’ve found these principles just as powerful with electronic items – photo files and emails and texts and such – as with physical stuff. If you want to release someone else’s energy, release emails, texts, and physical items connected to that person and watch how swiftly shifts happen. You’ll be agog.

The other thing to remember: excessive clutter is not a great thing to live with. Ugly, unpleasant energy loves clutter. It hides in dark, messy, inhospitable places you don’t like to look through and collects. So efforts to tidy, clean, lighten and brighten any and all areas of your home will definitely lift your spirits and make your travels through life lighter.

What have you discovered regarding the connection of energy to stuff?
