Let it die…Tarot, Week of 5/15/17

The Death card is associated with Scorpio. I have no issues with Scorpio–he’s a player in my own chart and I have mad respect for his willingness to get his hands dirty, you know? He’s REAL and he goes full in. He does the dirty jobs that need doing and he does them well. What’s more, his skill with rooting around in the energetic muck and cleaning it out means something fresh can grow there. In removing that rot, the soil becomes ready for new life.

And that IS a beautiful thing, even if the process itself is not very tidy.

I am feeling and seeing this energy quite clearly right now, so I suspect many of y’all are as well. This week, I’m going to be looking to focus on where I’m going and not the old news of where I’ve been. I’d suggest the same for you.

Hey, this is Dix from A Fool’s Journey. I’ve got another micro forecast for you this week. With the Gilded Tarot. So stay tuned.

Howdy, this is Dix with A Fool’s Journey. I’m just gonna pull a card, a single card, and see where we go from there.

Oh geez. Ugggghhh. I got death!

What do I want to say about death?

Things begin, things end. A lot of times, an ending is, well, always in my opinion, but, generally speaking, an ending is part of a new beginning. And once things hit critical mass, you know, if it’s gonna blow, it’s gonna blow.

So you can feel however you wanna feel about it, but understand that the endings are just as necessary, if not more so, for moving forward, as the beginnings. Endings are important, too.

And sometimes they’re scratchy or, or raw. Or uncomfortable. But almost always, there’s a cleansing that comes with it and things are better for having gone through that transformational process.

Because the, it has to die before it can be resurrected. You know? Before something new can grow in it’s place. So you might see some of that this coming week. If it’s uncomfortable, I’m really sorry. But remember that it’s just part of the natural order of things and in the long run, it’s all okay.

I hope that’s helpful to you or interesting or whatever. If it is, let me know! Otherwise, just have a great week, take care. Peace out from the Goddess. Mmmmmm. Bye bye.

Cats. Please. [snap] Ohhhhh. Stop! Cats. They’re worse than kids…

Are you seeing Death energy in your world? (I am.)

Refined Approach: Weekly Tarot, May 8-14, 2017

I’m going to cut to the chase this week and let this (brief) video do the talking. Transcript below.

Transcript from the Video

Howdy! This is Dix from A Fool’s Journey. I’m just gonna do a quick [snap] to the point check in for next week. Okay?

Stay tuned.

Howdy, this is Dix from A Fool’s Journey. I’ve got my Tarot deck. I’m gonna pull one card and [snap] riff on it and just get right to the point.

Nine of Pentacles. Wanna tell you to be refined. Not, you know, not stick your pinky finger out when you drink your tea. Graceful. Kind. Understanding. Take a broader perspective.

My sense is that there’s a lot for you to watch if you’re not trying to jump in there and control other people or run the world or decide what’s right or wrong. Look at everything that comes up like a learning experience. Or like a potential, a potential education for you. Way to open your eyes.

And you’ll make the most of the week. Hope that’s helpful for ya! If it is, let me know. If not, okay. Maybe next time! Take care, peace out, bye bye!

Mmmmmm.

Excuse me. That’s the sound of the cats. Tttttooo-tooo-tooo. Ohhhhhh. Cats! Can you not do that? They’re worse than kids.

This week’s forecast features the Gilded Tarot. Hit me up for a 1-on-1, if you’re so inclined or check out my book, Everyday Tarot Archives. And peace out.

Signs in Real Life: Goldfinch Mobs & Missed Blessings

So, I’ve got my Birdseed Oracle Cafe going, full swing. Little birds coming and going all day long. And as long as the seed is there, the signs, they come.

Except for one thing.

I suck at identifying birds.

I try to take them one at a time and keep it fun. Who’s obvious? Cannot miss Bluejays or Cardinals, and the black and white and reds give away the flavors of Woodpeckers that come by. Some are distinct enough I can easily identify them. But others can give me trouble.

I posted a picture of the “Warblers” I was getting at the Cafe. What I didn’t mention is that I’d initially been rather disappointed with them.

See, I love the colorful birds best–shhh. Don’t tell the others. It’s not their fault they don’t wow me. I just cannot hold a grudge against a Starling or Grackle, even if the behavior is boorish because they’re so damned beautiful. I thrill at the way those iridescent colors glint in the sun. But the same is true of any beautiful bird. I get excited seeing a boldly-colored Jay or Cardinal swoop in, because of the way they stand out.

Yes, the birds are all lovely, in their own way. And maybe it’s wrong of me to feel the way I do. But I do get more excited seeing more impressive birds.

The birds that were mobbing my feeder? Eh. Not so impressive. But as they continued arriving en masse over the course of days turning into weeks, I thought I’d figure out what they may be saying. I decided they must be Warblers, based on a picture I found someplace.  I looked at Warbler messages. It’s all good stuff.

And I’m looking to line up with this energy. So I make the decision to consciously appreciate them more, as is. I make note of their grace, and what I notice to admire: how politely they got their food and share space, how lovely they are in their own, understated way. How bravely they weathered Thor the Warrior Kitten staredowns from the other side of the window. These birds had spunk! Once you change the energetic channel to appreciation, you can find a lot to see.

I stopped (internally) complaining about who the birds were NOT and began loving them for who they ARE.

I was doing a good job of appreciating my Warblers, I think. I posted a picture of them. That’s when my double Libra friend came to my rescue and SO very politely–like, so politely you could have missed it, if you weren’t paying attention–pointed out that my mob of “Warblers” was actually made up of Goldfinches, not yet turned gold.

Ooops.

Signs in Real Life: Goldfinch Mobs & Missed Blessings 1

Not really Warblers, to someone who has a bird-clue.

The good news is, I could expect a glorious color explosion later this spring of sunny yellow. The even better news is, their color is determined by the quality of their diet. In other words, I’m directly contributing to the show by serving up the seed. That’s cool!

As if on cue, the next day I saw some of the birds starting to molt. The gold is beginning to peek through.

Signs in Real Life: Goldfinch Mobs & Missed Blessings 2

Not-yet-Goldfinch suspiciously eyes Becoming-Goldfinch

Now, I associate Goldfinches with joy and blessings, among other things. So the whole mistaken identity episode gave me a good laugh. Because I was surrounded by these birds, day after day after day. I had multitudes of blessings all around me, but I wasn’t recognizing them. Point taken.

Well played, Universe. Well-played.

Over the coming days, I’ll be watching them molt, a witness to the transformational process. Some look a little sick, or at the very least unkempt as the actual process of change is messy. Not any different from us. And I’m sure they’ll have more to say to me, as I watch them change and apply what I observe metaphorically, in my own life. My transformation process can be a little messy sometimes, too. But it doesn’t mean it’s not going exactly as it should.

Are you able to appreciate what you’ve got, even if it doesn’t look just like what you’ve wanted?

Harder than it Needs to Be: Weekly Tarot, Mar 13 – 19, 2017

There was one trap I used to trip into, time and time and time again when back I did tech work. I’d research how to  do this or that, and look advice from all over for the PERFECT way to go about it. Without fail, the “perfect way” was always ridiculously demanding and difficult to accomplish without far more resources than I had readily available.

Perfection is also very subjective, no? We all have different needs and goals. So another person’s perfect solution would look different from mine. Becuase MY perfect solution takes into account what I can easily do versus what’s a huge struggle.

But I didn’t think like that. I’d still pine for “perfect” or at least “best possible” and try very hard to make that happen. It sounds good but most of the time, I didn’t have the [knowledge / skills / software / time/ help / pick one or more] required to effectively execute. So there were lots of things I ended up making WAY harder than they needed to be. “Good enough” might be readily within my grasp, but I wasn’t pleased when I knew better could be achieved and if I tried harder–much, much harder–maybe I could get there?

I cannot count the number of nights I was up way too late, sitting in front of a computer and cussing myself for committing to way more, way fancier, than necessary. I can’t say I’m entirely over that–too much Virgo in me, yo. But I notice it and have made a lot of progress (or I’d NEVER be able to produce videos for y’all).

When I took a look at this spread, the overriding message was loud and clear.

You’re making it harder than it needs to be.

If that’s as far as you read, you’ll have what you really need to know. Back up a bit and focus singularly on where you want to go, leaving the how out of it.

[bctt tweet=”Manage your own feelings and leave the rest of the world to manage theirs. #OnMyRadar” via=”no”]

But if you want more? Here are the bullet points, man.

Next week in Bullet Points

  • Monday, Six of Swords rx: Willpower alone will not get you there. There’s a requirement: letting Universal forces work instead of plowing ahead doggedly in the only direction you think will work. It won’t be the path expected and it absolutely cannot be forced. Yielding will get you where determination will not go.
  • Tuesday, Six of Pentacles rx: With Venus retrograde, make sure how you distribute resources reflect current values and not old news. Review and realign based on what’s valuable to you NOW.
  • Wednesday, Two of Swords rx: You cannot make other people’s decisions and if you try too hard to push ’em? Prescription for disaster.
  • Thursday, Page of Swords rx: Mixed messages. Be wary of (yourself or others) saying one thing but in actuality, meaning another. Don’t say what you think they wanna hear. Just lay down tracks of unadorned truth, but sprinkle some kindness on top if you can. It’s a smidge edgey.
  • Friday, Seven of Swords rx: Something that you think nobody is watching? Watched. Always behave in a way in private that you’d be comfortable with becoming public, if ever it did.
  • Saturday, Temperance rx. Don’t overdo the drinks! Tendency to over-indulge or act without sufficient restraint. DESIGNATED DRIVER! No unnecessary risks.
  • Sunday, Nine of Pentacles rx: Tendency toward rawness, coarseness, maybe not intentional but there are still sharp edges on interactions. Presentation is not refined. Focus on the message and not the frilly edges and realize your own words may have the same rough, ragged edges to listeners.
  • Overview/Advice: Eight of Swords. You can do what you’re ready to do when you’re ready to do it. All those external factors making it harder? Let ’em go, emotionally. Forget justifications. Just shift your focus from fears to desires to let the path open up for you. Faith, my friends, is your savior here.

Just focus on where you want to go, and don’t try to micromanage the rest of the world. It’s the scripting that is throwing people off. “If I say this, he will say that and she will do this…” That kinda stuff. I would expect that approach to backfire like an old clunker next week. On the other hand, eyes on your own lane and you’ll make it through the week with flying colors.

Do you often make things harder than they need to be?

See what you can do about that, if you do. And be well!

Courting Intuition via Creativity

Opening yourself to creative flow is an excellent path to ramping up your personal psychic mojo. But sometimes? People do it in ways that tend to shut down the channel instead of open it up.

I’ve been thinking about it as akin to courting.

If you wanted to woo a new partner, you wouldn’t begrudge time or energy. This is where you want to spend your resources! You wouldn’t criticize and pick apart your partner or offer a running commentary on your date’s shortcomings.

“I’ve got a few minutes to kill. But I don’t want to spend any more money, okay? You cost so much! And…geez. If I introduce you around, which I think I won’t, but if I do…I will just open with an apology so they know I realize you’re subpar.”

Not exactly promising for a budding romance. But that’s exactly how we “court creativity” all the time. Either we worry about it’s demands or it becomes a reason to focus on our shortcomings. Eeek!

We can do better.

To woo, you wine and dine–eat well and sometimes, indulge. It’s a full-blown, full-body sensual experience. There is not resentment over resources–you feel good about time or money you spend this way. You don’t force the flow and you don’t rush it. Rather, you gladly invite it in and love every leisurely minute of time together. Because it’s too wonderful not to savor!

You can use a similar approach to tapping into you powerful, divine creative force and you’ll find it an excellent tool for turning up and fine tuning intuition.

[bctt tweet=”Court #creativity to improve #intuition & #psychic skills. #OnMyRadar” via=”no”]

This works because imagination is a primary channel for incoming information. It can be just like recalling a rich memory–awareness of vivid, sensory information within your own head. While people sometimes have more tangible, physical experiences (such as vividly smelling dead Grandma’s perfume), most often, interpreting psychic information is much more subtle and internally focused. It’s a light and practiced touch.

Folks sometimes break down this info into categories by how it’s perceived–clairvoyance vs. clairaudience vs. clairsentience, etc.–and can grow a bit of an ego or inferiority surrounding how tangible their own incoming signals are or are not. That’s all fine and well if it interests you, at least the classification part. The ego score we can safely dismiss.

But in practical terms, the reception itself counts a whole lot more than whether or not your aura-vision looks like it’s coming from outside your own head. Whatever form is good enough. Welcome ALL that you get, and bless it and then, utilize it. As you do this consistently, it becomes more and more strong and dependable over time.

What DOES matter a great deal, though, is openness to the incoming signal and facility with receiving and interpreting that signal. This grows from practice. And activities that stimulate your true creative flow–a highly connected state–are invaluable to developing your skills.

Creativity to Improve Psychic Mojo

  • Select joy-driven activities.
  • No self-criticism need apply. (Am I getting repetitive with that point yet? Because if not, let me try harder! )
  • “Let yourself go” into creative activity.

Start by selecting an activity that you really love. Your creative process is ideally classifiable as “play.” It’s best something to look forward to, a rich and deep wellspring of pleasure. The love you have for the doing is already setting the stage for improving your connection by lifting your vibration from the moment you begin planning. Just thinking about it will start the energy moving and the more intensely you’re enjoying the preparation, the more intensely the energy moves.

Since the point here is plugging in, there is no way to get it wrong. There may be more and less effective, but no “not good enough.” Seeing room for improvement can be another avenue of satisfaction for the artist, and that’s great. Just be sure that however you are framing the process itself feels GOOD, satisfying. That’s how you can tell it’s an effective tool for you.

With self-doubt set aside, you are free to tap into the flow. The more you can let go of self-consciousness, the smoother the stream flows. As you love what you’re doing, you begin channeling more and more life force. That’s the real buzz of creative pursuits, tapping into the bigger energy stream of Universal life force. That’s where the high of “being in the zone” comes from.

And as you probably well realize, this in-the-zone state, when practiced and therefore readily achievable, is highly conducive to receiving intuitive/psychic information. And it’s fun to boot. Win-win, man, Win-win.

Have you found creativity to aid your psychic connection? Tell me you story!

Easy does it! Weekly Tarot, 2/13/17

Roughly 99% of the stuff I’ve spent much of my life worrying over hasn’t come to pass. I think that means I’m a mother.

And that which has come to pass? My worrying didn’t somehow prepare me to cope better. It just amped up the unpleasantness.

So now? I ease myself a step back any time I notice I’m starting to spiral into a worry-fest, whether the focus is personal or more global. Because it’s all the same. Experiencing disasters in my head is practicing disaster and knocking me off my center. It does no good and it feels rotten, which is my first and biggest clue it’s not a good idea.

These days, I look to expect better and screw what’s “realistic.”

I’m noticing a theme here for the last few forecasts. Or maybe, it’s a mostly a theme in my head, in my life. But I’m finding myself repeatedly drawn to taking a step back and a deep breath. Centering back to the self. Step back and center, step back and center. Taking what’s useful and ignoring everything else.

It’s a silly little thing, true, and honestly much easier to say than it is to do. But if you make this a practice–that’s another theme in my head, practice, consistency, repetition–but if you make this a practice, what you find is that you’re more at peace than you were before.

It’s the difference between trying to solve someone’s problems in your head, then offering and advocating for your solution, then worrying about whether or not your solution will be properly implemented or at all…OR offering the support of believing in the individual’s ability to make their own choices, live their own life, and resolve their own problems.

What you do most often is what shapes your day-to-day existence. And for me? I want peace, support, love and an easy sense of calm to shape my world. So let’s get specific and see how we do that for next week.

Day-by-day forecast taken directly from the video above.

Okay, one thing really, really notable about these cards, is that all except one of them are inverted.

Easy does it! Weekly Tarot, 2/13/17 3

A crappy picture of next week’s cards.

Ohhhhh.

Now, I don’t read inverted cards as the opposite of the traditional meaning. I usually read it as having the same energy, but not freely expressing. However, when I have a week full of inverted cards, I know it’s probably not gonna be a super comfortable, easy ride. Just so you know.

So, with that having been said, let’s just kinda hop right in here, and see what we’ve got.

It, looks like an emotional week.

Monday is the Page of Cups reversed. Potential for emotional overreaction. Where people wear their feelings on their sleeves. Or are otherwise just easily upset, maybe even including you.

So, space. Space, okay? Everybody needs lots of space. And extra downtime.

Naps. Naps are good. Naps are your friend.

So Monday might be a little edgey. Sorry. What are you gonna do?

Tuesday, the Knight of Swords reversed. Knights, especially inverted knights, have a tendency to be impulsive. In the suit of Swords, reversed again, there’s potential for impulsive words or blurting or harsh kind of sharp or critical language.

So be aware of that. And I hope you’re not on the receiving end. Do what you can not to be on the giving end, ok? ‘Cause these kind of words, a lot of times, there’s a hangover.

Just so you know.

And Happy Valentine’s Day. HAHAHA!

Wednesday, we have the Two of Cups, which is lovely card, inverted, which I would prefer to see it upright, but still to me this is the beginnings of a little bit more harmony or a little bit more connection, or at least the potential for it coming in the week. So, not everything is in harmony. The basic points are actually in agreement, but you might not notice you’re busy fighting. You take what you can get, right?

Thursday, I have the Queen of Swords and I have her upright. Now, I want to tell you to be fair. Be clear. And filter! Not just filter your mouth, although I’m never going to advise against that. I’ll be honest!

But listen to the facts, not how they’re presented. Listen to the message or the intention, not whether or not you agree. In other words, take what information, take what understanding, needed, that you want, that is useful, that is helpful, that forwards things along and discard the rest!

If somebody uses an insensitive word or is not particularly thoughtful about how they express themselves or whatever, the Queen of Swords just ignores, ignores, ignores. She does not respond to anything she doesn’t like or she doesn’t need or doesn’t want. So that’s what we’ve got and that will really, really help you on Thursday.

And probably before and after Thursday a little.

Friday, it’s the Seven of Pentacles, which is another generally speaking positive card, reversed. Now in this case, it feels like what you do doesn’t matter. I’m not going to say that’s true, or overall or in this case for that matter. But that’s kind of the feeling that I’ve got going on. Thursday. To deal with that, I have the Two of Wands reversed.

And what I want to say in that regard is don’t push back. Just back up, back up, back up; in fact, I’m seeing a car, backing out of a parking space. Backing up don’t get, stuck, solidified. You know. It…don’t get in a place that is not…don’t put yourself in a corner. Just kind of back up, easy does it, easy does it, that’s kind of the vibe I’m wanting for the whole week!

Saturday, the Emperor reversed. When I see this, a lot of times there are control freak issues. So control yourself, not the other. Whatever that’s worth. And people might be trying to control you. And, I mean, you know what to do with that.

You smile, and you say, “Thank you so much for your caring and concern for me. I really, really appreciate that. And I will take everything you have to say under advisement.”

In other words, I’m going to do exactly what I want to do, but I want to acknowledge you in a positive way that you can’t really argue with. Mmmm! Problem solved.

Okay. Sunday, I’ve got the Four of Swords. But it’s shown up reversed. Now, the Four of Swords in general is a card of rest or relaxation. Having it reversed on Sunday makes me think, hmmm. Maybe there’s some last minute details that need to be attended to. Check Sunday. On my clarification, I got Strength. But check Sunday, and see if there’s any follow through or anything that’s gotten missed or just kind of slid on by that you could stand to deal with, okay? Before the week gets started.

Overview/Advice: The Five of Swords reversed. [Note: I  missed covering this in the video.]

No need to take score or decide what is right and what it wrong. It’s superfluous. You can evaluate for YOURSELF, your own experience and life, what you want there and what you don’t. But there is no reason to compare that to anything else to decide what is better and worse. You “win” here by not caring who wins, instead just directing your own experience.

Our affirmation here, we’ve got, “Everything I touch is a success!”

And the back of it says, “I now establish a new awareness of success. I know I can be as successful as I make up my mind to be. I can move into the winning circle.”

At first, I thought it said, I could move into Wyoming. Why, is Wyoming special?

“Golden opportunities are everywhere for me. Prosperity of every kind is drawn to me.”

Whether you’re into these kind of affirmations or not, people have really big tendency to acknowledge what goes wrong and dismiss what goes right. At least in their conversation, so I’m assuming we’re doing it in our heads as well.

And I say to you, how about acknowledging what goes right and ignoring what goes wrong? Maybe a simple concept, maybe revolutionary. Depends.

I’m seeing water, a huge body of water. And like being in a big body of water, you don’t want to try and fight the tide. You want to relax into the flow, and then kind of paddle the direction that you’re looking for. That’s the mental image, imagery that I’m getting. In other words, you try to fight the tide in the coming week, you’re going to drown in it. If you ride it, then when it’s calm enough, edge towards the direction you want to go, and you’re going to be a lot more successful. So light touch next week.

Don’t fight yourself, the tide or anybody else. Just take your time. Slow and steady.
