Altered Plans: Weekly Flow Tarot Forecast, Dec 8–14, 2014

Tarot Flow Dec 8 -14

Do you set intentions for full moons? I do, most of the time. For the recent Gemini moon, I wanted to release what doesn’t serve. This intention fits into my life on multiple levels and to be frank, I don’t have the time or energy for what doesn’t feed either me personally or my goals on a larger scale. Not in the budget anymore!

This week’s Tarot flow forecast? It brings that intention to mind. This is a very practically-oriented spread, with the final goal being to take action. Move! I like that. We’ve got a mix of Majors, Swords (thoughts) and Pentacles (practicalities), with that Ace of Wands (action) as “goal” for good measure. Overall, I expect it to be an productive and well-rounded week.

Monday, Positive Influences – Justice: Balance, fairness and weighing out the concerns of all parties is the way to begin the week. This will set the stage well for the days to come. This would be an excellent time to clarify goals.

Tuesday, Immediate Future – Ace of Swords: You do NOT need the long term figured out right now. But you do need at least one clear, rational strategy to build from, right now. You’re not looking to ride it into next year or next month or even next week, necessarily. You want an idea that takes care of what’s needed in the moment, today and tomorrow. For now is what we’re shooting for.

Wednesday, Relationship – Temperance reversed: I am expecting ongoing adjustments in relationships. Not all knowledge and experience is fully integrated, but hey. We’re working on it! Consider both practical, psychological issues as well as energetic issues. It may seem the two are unrelated, but in reality they are two sides of the same coin.

Thursday, Advice – Knight of Pentacles: The Knight of Pentacles can be a bit OCD, and he’s definitely one to review and categorize. He’s also a very hard worker and sometimes, a bit too serious. His appearance as advice would suggest going over the details, double-checking your facts and plan it out. Things may not go according to your plans, mind you. Truth is, some will not. But you’re still better off here not leaving everything up to chance and doing what you can to make sure all is where you want it to be.

Friday, Hobbies and Talents – Nine of Swords: Anxiety with a side order of guilt is getting in the way of self-expression. Are you self conscious about how others perceive your efforts? Are you prone to feeling guilty for resources you devote to yourself? Because that’s what this looks like to me. Don’t use hobbies to cut yourself off from the rest of the world, either; there is often a sense of isolation that accompanies this card. Also? Getting enough sleep boosts your creativity.

Saturday, Friendship – Ten of Pentacles reversed: Friend serve very important and valuable functions, but do not single-handedly take care of all your emotional needs. Because you know what? That is totally an inside job!

Sunday, Goal – Ace of Wands: The goal here, to begin creation! It’s like the entire week is a buildup to manifesting, setting the stage. Monday, we get grounded and clear on goals. Tuesday, we enact a short-term plan. Wednesday, we deal with personnel issues. Thursday is reviewing the details. Friday is getting over ourselves. Saturday is appreciating the support of loved ones, understanding there are limitations to what you can withdraw from that bank. And Sunday, the spark has been lit and the process is underway.

Overview/Advice – Three of Pentacles reversed: Plan but don’t rigidly adhere to the plans if another, more apt opportunity arises. You know the phrase, “Rules are meant to be broken?” It comes with the caveat that the rules must first be understood. Well, this week, it’s “plans are meant to be changed,” but with the rider than you still need to have plans because they put you in the right place at the right time to get the updated schedule.

Affirmation, Claircognizance– Archangel Uriel: “Pay attention the the thoughts and ideas that come to you, as they are answered prayers.” Uriel’s name means “light of God” or “fire of God” in Hebrew, and he’s known as the angel of wisdom and repentance. We can make use of both this week. Ideas will come to make wanted changes, but in order to do so, we have to be willing to alter course. The opportunities will appear, that’s the Universe’s job. The choices to act on them, ours. If I want to release what doesn’t serve, I have to be willing to actually let go, and focus my own attention on what does.

Shortly after I set my intention, I ended up reading The Four Agreements. In man ways, it was a rather direct answer to my intention. But it’s up to me to act on that knowledge. It wasn’t really in the form I expected, you know? But this week, it’s a lot like that. You’ll get some answers, options for fulfilling your plans. They just won’t show up in the guise you were expecting.

09/27/13: Orderly Beginning / Ace of Swords

Ace of SwordsStart at the beginning. If you’re feeling unsure or overwhelmed, the Ace of Swords would suggest you outline your needs, ranking by logical order of importance.

If you have a new idea now, it’s likely a good one! But it’s just a start. Build up from the initial spark logically and systematically.

In general, it’s a day for orderliness. Starting from the ground up, set your life, your plans and your environment in good order. Be clear and precise with communications and whatever you’re looking at, don’t stress about it. Just eliminate distractions and get started already.

That is, after all, the logical thing to do: get started.

Do you have some chaos you’d like to transform into order?

Weekly Forecast 7/15: Don’t let perfectionism stop you from acting!

Interesting, to see the weekly forecast share today’s card (although I don’t read inverted on the Transparent Tarot).

Short version: Okay, so everything may not go “just so,” but that doesn’t excuse you from action. Maybe it’s me projecting again–hello, Virgo perfectionism! But either way, I know I’m not totally alone. Don’t just think, don’t just plan, but act. Use the call of your heart to give you info on the most appropriate, effective first steps to take.

You feeling this?

07/12/13: Critical Review / Ace Swords Rx

Alrighty. So a reversed Ace of Swords points to an idea, a concept, a plan—but as an Ace, it’s just in fledgling form and since the card is reversed, there is some sort of interference with it’s development

Could be a hole in the logic. Could be factors not under consideration. Could be emotional blocks to implementation. Could be based on inaccurate assumptions or old news. Could just be the thing needs to be better fleshed out to be workable.

This isn’t so surprising to see as we’re still in Mercury retrograde. Nor is it necessarily bad news, either the problems with planning or the retrograde period!

Think of it like a teacher suggesting additional review before handing in a paper. This is an opportunity to improve outcomes though ferreting out weak spots in your reasoning and correcting them. No better time than now!

Do you have some plans that could stand critical review?

06/05/13: Overriding Sword of Freedom / Ace & 9 of Swords

9_of_SwordsWell, nobody much likes seeing the Nine of Swords, whatever version we have. It’s not a comfortable card, you know? But the thing about the Nine of Swords, the isolation of this energy comes from guilt and fear, and that’s almost always connected to choice.

The Ace of Swords following here gives us an option—the power of a single thought, idea or choice for breaking free. Because while swords can wound, they can also perform surgery. And that’s how I’m seeing this great big sword functioning today.

Swords cut. They release us. Now, it may not be a release from anything we want to detach from, but swords don’t distinguish based on emotion. The steel is hard and cold. Doesn’t mean we don’t need the release.

To escape the guilt and fear requires a detachment. The Nine of Swords is associated with Moon in Gemini, which tends towards an intellectualization of emotional concerns. Let others own their own thoughts, path and life. It’s not your job to save them! Own your life instead. Back up and observe emotions, but allow the waves to freely leave once noted. Don’t hold on. Talking it out may help—Gemini is chatty!

The escape from the multiple, sharp thoughts coming at this woman’s head is through adopting a much bigger, overriding idea. This is your surgical scalpel that removes the other unpleasantness. It could be an idea of personal responsibility, or influence of a higher power, or clear understanding of what truly matters and what doesn’t. I cannot tell you what that overriding concept of freedom is for you personally. I can tell you to seek it or ask for it and let go of the rest. There’s not much you can do about it anyway.

Are you seeking freedom from sharp thoughts?

04/23/13: Measure Twice / rev Ace Swords

Measure twice, cut once. –Voice of Experience, aka Somebody who Screwed Something Up!

That big idea? The Ace of Swords suggest it’s not sound as-is. Look for holes, loose ends, details not tied up. Maybe it’s your idea, maybe it’s somebody else’s idea, maybe it’s a move by you or against you. I don’t know which, but I’m thinking the “big idea of the day” doesn’t hold up to close scrutiny, there is a fatal flaw as it stands. Use this as a heads up for closer examination.

Are you aware of a big idea or plan that needs closer examination?
