Fool: Fresh Start, a Step at a Time

Well, today didn’t go as planned. When I came over here to write up your weekly, the site was a mess! It took me a while to figure it out. I ended up fixing it the hard way…oops!

A new adventure, I guess. But I learned something and I didn’t get all stressed about it, so that’s a good outcome as far as I’m concerned.

Sort of like the coming week’s forecast. Got a video for y’all.

Next Week in Tarot

Here we’ve got The Fool as outlook, with advice as the Ace of Wands from the Star Tarot Deck.

Now, I like the Fool card, a lot. This site wasn’t named “A Fool’s Journey” by accident.

But there’s one thing to know about the Fool, and that is this energy is really about what you don’t know yet, not what you do know. It’s the sense of seeking, looking for bigger understandings, that sets the Fool apart. His desire is strong.

The Fool is hungry for experience, knowledge and understanding. He knows it’s not always easy to obtain this, but he’s willing to do what’s required because it’s important. He trusts his true feelings to guide him.

With the Ace of Wands as advice, that’s a very good plan!

Don’t reach way out into the future. Take each and every step from the now and the future sorts itself. Expect new experience and adventures in the coming week and allow your heart to point the way. You’ll never go far wrong with that.

Be well, friends! And if you want a little one-on-one, give me a holler.

Starling Advice: Tarot Forecast, Jan 9 -15

Our office window birdfeeder has attracted a string of different birds, and I watch them come and go. Lots of finches, because hey, finches run in packs. The cardinals come, often both Mr. and Mrs. And just like old, married couples, they start to look alike after a while. The big blue jays that grab the big nuts and glide off. Warblers galore and beautiful bird songs off and on all day.

The Starlings have really been speaking to me, standing out. But then again, they were kind of born to stand out, no? With the iridescent sheen and the little dots like stars in the night sky, how could you miss them?

Starlings are known for being gregarious birds–and for their imitations. They imitate not only many other birds, but also mimic environmental sounds and have local dialects. They are studied for insight into the development of language.

And while they are fairly aggressive birds, they also know how to work in in a group. The grace of their flock dances defy description.

This is a week to be as the Starlings would suggest–be your beautiful, iridescent self, always. Of course. Don’t shy back and hide, but stay flexible in your communication. Keep your action in keeping with what you want to be about, you know? Going with the flow, (gracefully) is highly recommended.

Lots of Pentacles coming up, with a smattering of swords. So we’ve got our primary focus on results, concrete, physical, flesh and blood manifestations. Not so much emotional focus or mental focus.Outcomes are emphasized over conceptual issues. So let’s dive in!

Monday, Nine of Pentacles rx:  Don’t nitpick. Upright, this card shows a very refined, clean approach. Reversed, something is not quite there yet, missing a little something. But relax into it and understand it’s a process, just like you’re a work in progress. It’s fine, wherever you’re at in it. Enjoy and appreciate what IS working right and don’t make a big deal about what is still coming into refinement.

Tuesday, Page of Pentacles: You will begin to get some clarity on the types of issues bothering you yesterday. The message will be recieved. Look for it and work with it.

Wednesday, The Empress: Great day for creative pursuits. The Empress is the Tarot mama. Great day also for self care (and isn’t creativity a form of self care)? Great day to make something, bake something, nurture someone else or yourself. A warm, fuzzy day. So enjoy it.

Thursday, Ace of Wands rx: May be a delay getting started on something you wanna get rolling. That’s okay! Don’t stress, just let it be. It will come together in time. Let it go and keep on doing what you’re doing.

Friday, Five of Pentacles rx: Possibility for overreaction. I’m seeing a kid crying themselves silly after dropping an ice cream cone. Overreaction to small losses due a limited perspective. However you feel is fine. I’m not saying to feel bad over how you feel. Just don’t amp up unhappy thoughts by playing them on autoloop. If you’re feeling like something is a really, really big deal today, fair enough. It matters because it’s important to you. But do what you can to soothe yourself and understand with a little perspective, you will see it differently.

Saturday, Three of Swords rx: Adjusting to something you want that feels missing. Reversed, it’s an opportunity for healing if you’ll allow it. It’s a choice, what feelings you ramp up vs. what you let go. It’s within your capacity and any rawness there is actually on the mend.

Sunday, Four of Pentacles rx: A little anxiety going down. It’s not necessarily based in reality. I’m seeing this as internal. Very much what’s going on in the head, not in the world. You may be anxious or there may be a rawness in the world at large. So look to soothe the anxiety without trying to take action to “correct” the situation.

Overview/Advice, Nine of Swords rx: Anxiety or guilt may be players, with some having difficulty sleeping this week. Let go as much as you can because the Self-Blame Express ain’t doing anything useful for anybody. If you do the “what if, what if, what if” disaster scenarios, stop! You’re amping up unrest. Try to catch yourself quickly before it picks up steam and is harder to redirect. And your week will feel so much nicer, even if the objective circumstances are exactly the same. Pretty neat trick, don’t you think?

Affirmation: When I reverse the thought, I reverse the condition. Sorry if you’re not a Law of Attraction person. But the idea is, there is nothing in life that cannot be changed. You use your emotions as your guide. For example, if you have chronic pain–it’s hard to ignore, in your face. You don’t have a choice as to where you are with that in the moment it’s happening, other than how you think about it.

You can have that pain and feel angry, scared, or frustrated. You can also have it and feel hopeful, believing it will get better, or intentionally distracted by other things. The pain may be the exact same physical manifestation, but the experience of it is much different. You may be in a place you don’t want to be. You can either suffer a great deal by dumping unhappiness on top of it, or you can reach for the best feeling, most optimistic thought you have access to. If you reach for better-feeling, what you live is the best you have access to in the moment. How justified any feelings are doesn’t matter pragmatically. If I’m choosing between justified anger or unjustified happiness? No contest.

[bctt tweet=”Happiness does NOT require justification.” via=”no”]

Grab onto the best-feeling thoughts you have access to and ride them up. Over time it will raise your vibration and improve your experience without regard to outside conditions. You see how there is freedom in being able to always pull yourself back to center? Just keep bringing yourself back, bringing yourself back, again and again and you’ll find your life shifting in ways you really like.

Stay in the flow and you’ll fare well, even if it takes you a minute to realize.

Do you get advice from the birds?

Shine Your Light: Weekly Flow Tarot, June 13 – 19, 2016

I’ll never forget when I came out of the Woo closet.

It was simultaneously among the most terrifiying and exhilerating things I’d ever done. Saturn was in Virgo in my first house, and I felt compelled to self-define honestly. It seemed important, if dangerous. (I still made most of my living pushing pixels and fixing websites at the time.)

While I ran across a few eye rolls–some literal, some metaphorical–overall? It was kind of a big, fat nothing. Heck, some folks even shared with me their own woo orientations. I never would have guessed.

Because you don’t know. How could you? People hide. I hid. I get it.

Beyond that, though, most people are far too busy worrying about what you think of them to think all that much of you. And those who aren’t, who get all twisted up and scandalized becauase you’re not them?

Not really worth offering free rent  in your head.

Being TRUE to yourself, allowing your inner light to shine, is a huge service. It helps encourage others to do the same. So shine your true light, my friend. We NEED you!

IMG_5166

We have a large amount of reversals in the spread. Six of the eight cards I pulled were reversed! If this had been a client reading, I probably would have acknowledged it’s a very difficult, slow-moving time, like trudging through molasses, and turned them upright to simplify interpretation. But it’s not a client reading and they spoke to me just fine, how they showed up.

The overall sense I’ve got this week is one of feeling out of step with those around you. Not a miserable, overwhelming kind of thing. More like, “If people really knew me, knew who I really am, I’d be utterly rejected. Must maintain cover.” And it’s the attempts to maintain your cover–appear as a complaint, respectable member of the community when you feel anything but–that’s got the potential to trip you up.

So don’t do it. Your best guidance system this week (and any other) is your internal one. Nothing else matters.

[bctt tweet=”Stand up and BE, even if you’re standing alone.” username=”goddess_dix”]

Monday, Darkest Fears/Sacral Chakra – Eight of Swords Reversed: A buried worry, that you’ll be forever miserable and it will be your own damn fault. You can get past this two ways: 1.) Look for ways to laugh at what’s going wrong. Make a game of it. And 2.) Seek out thoughts, activities and company that you KNOW brings you joy. It’s easy to shift out of this “trapped” mindset. All it mostly takes is the decision. In other words, most of the bad mood mojo today is not entrenched and not permanent. Consciously shifting your perspective will lift you right back up.

Tuesday, Feeling Alone – Ten of Pentacles: It’s easy enough to feel alone in a crowd, depending on the crowd. Look for your people to reconnect if you’re feeling cut off. And if that’s not cutting it for you? Enjoy your own company. The feelings of isolation will pass.

Wednesday, Blossom – The World Reversed: Your job today has nothing to do with what’s expected of you, and everything to do with who you are on the inside. Favor that.

Thursday, Success & Growth – Ace of Wands: Follow your heart and what you love for the win!

Friday, Spread Your Wings – Nine of Cups Reversed: Expand your definition of “wonderful,” and your life will expand to fit it.

Saturday, Lead – Two of Swords Reversed: Quit waffling and just make a decision already. The world will follow suit afterward. It’s usually not so much making the “right” decision or “wrong” decision as it is about doing SOMETHING. You adjust as you go.

Sunday, Release – Two of Wands Reversed: Release old stand-offs taking up space in your head. Not worth your time. Don’t wait for anyone else to bury the hatchet. Because don’t you have better things to do than even bothering?

Overview/Advice, Heal – Five of Cups Reversed: Mourning does soften over time. Allow it. Feeling it come and go like the waves on a shore? This is a natural part of the healing process.

IMG_5164Affirmation – Relationship Harmony from Archangel Raguel: “We angels are opening the hearts of everyone involved. Arguments and conflicts are being resolved now.” No matter what the discord, you are best served by keeping a soft heart, as much as you can. Not freezing it up. Not forgetting boundaries or dropping your own needs at the curb. But looking at life, at relationships, at everything, with a softer, more compassionate heart.

That’s not excusing or approving. It’s just not letting life–or anyone in your life–decide for YOU. If someone doesn’t fit into your circle, they’ll evacuate it soon enough. The most important thing is to remember who YOU are and no matter what’s happening about you, stay solid on that note.

You feeling a little misfit lately?

Letting Go of the Strings: Weekly Tarot Forecast, Mar 7 – 13, 2016

We say we trust the Universe. We say we have faith. We read the write books and burn the right candles and share the right inspirational memes.

And often, we set out our intentions aligned with that belief. But then, we don’t release those intentions go, out to do their work.

And how do you know, when you’ve failed to release your intentions?

The questions start in.

“When? HOW? This is impossible. It’s not gonna work. Hurry up, already! Hurry up! Because I am freaking out over here.”

This is a breakdown of faith. Instead of sending it out and letting it happen–knowing we are already supported and get what we need, even if it’s not always what we’d like–that anxiety is like a homing signal, calling back those intentions over and over again.

Setting intentions is like releasing a balloon. To have those intentions supported by Source energy, the balloon must travel up, above and beyond your sight. The magic happens beyond our human field of vision.

But when you attach strings to your intention balloons–the strings of how and when and all the particulars–what “must be” and how it must be in order for you to feel save? Well, that mucks up the fulfillment process. It keeps your balloon near the ground.

It may feel more comfortable to keep your balloon close, here you can check on it every thirty seconds. But I can absolutely promise you, those intentions will never take off as long as you’re fearfully clutching those strings. Faith is the secret ingredient to fulfilling your intentions. It’s required.

[bctt tweet=”Without faith, intentions are no more than worries.”]

IMG_5079

We’ve got an eclipse this week, folks. I’ve actually been feeling it for the last couple, coming in. I’ll let the actual astrologers write about the particulars. But just so you know, the energy out there is powerful, crackling and intense. And that’s neither a good or bad thing, by itself. It’s all in what you do with it. I’d suggest setting your intentions and letting go of the strings.

Monday, Integration, Temperance, reversed: You’re learning, but you don’t have it all figured out, all the way, quite yet. That’s fine! There’s nothing wrong with that. Just keep paying attention and using what you’ve learned thus far. That’s how you make it your own. Use practice to integrate new learning with your existing base of mastered skills. This is solidifying learning by doing.

Tuesday, Experiencing, Three of Wands: Note the progress you’ve made, and what direction it’s leading you. Take what you’ve started and continue to build. Be present.

Wednesday, Innocence, The Sun Reversed: You’ll notice undercurrents–and you may not entirely like those undercurrents. It is what it is, you know? People have mixed and complex motivations. That doesn’t mean someone is bad. Just human.

Thursday, Celebration, Three of Cups: Have a night out (or afternoon in) with dear friends. And for God’s sakes, confide in somebody, okay? Don’t keep all those thoughts in your head or the feelings trapped in your heart. Connection heals.

Friday, The Source, Ace of Wands reversed: I’m seeing this as a smidge of a wet blanket effect. Something (or someone?) raining a bit on the parade. Don’t let small distractions or minor complaints interfere with your enthusiasm. The complaints don’t amount to much. But the enthusiasm does.

Saturday, Mind,  Page of Swords: Ah, this day looks a little anxious. You’re most likely overthinking it, though. Remember that if you can think yourself into a tizzy, you can just as easily think yourself right out of it, too.

Sunday, Trust, Page of Cups reversed: Keep working on keeping that faith. It’s there, but sometimes we talk ourselves out of it. You do what makes sense in your heart and back it up with real-world rational, okay? That’s a solid combination.

Overview/Advice, Ripeness, Nine of Pentacles reversed: Lesson is in progress. Emphasis on the “progress” bit because, hey, we ARE progressing! In terms of advice, this is not the week to be jumping–the gun, to conclusions, or off the deep end! Set your intentions and let go of the string.

Affirmation – Peace, Archangel Chamuel: “Peace comes from remembering that only love is real.” I really do dig this thought even if I have trouble fully believing it sometimes. Putting it into perspective for me–when someone dislikes me, it doesn’t change who I am. It doesn’t make any vitriol aimed my way justified, warranted or somehow “right.” That negative energy isn’t real in the sense it doesn’t speak to me or who I am, any more than jealousy or resentment or any one of the myriad of projections we aim at each other on a daily basis. Such ugly baggage is the work of a limping ego, stabbing out at others to self-medicate fear and inadequacy. That’s not real.

But love? Love comes from recognizing the beauty and humanity in one another. Love is a process of recognizing the divine energy in the other. There’s nothing more real than that.

This week, strive for patience. Patience with yourself, as you learn and integrate under intense and dynamic energy patterns. Patience with others, as they sometimes stumble before they shine as they do the same. Acknowledge progress and look to connect on a heart level. This bolsters faith and allows those intentions to transform from worries to reality.

Except I still cannot promise you it will be on your schedule. Because I haven’t figured out how to get the Universe to do that yet.

Do you set intentions? Do you have some for the Eclipse?

Group Think: Weekly Tarot, Feb 1 – 7, 2016

This week’s forecast: A lot of emphasis on how we interact with others, both when things are going well and…well, when they are not going so well. Also some advice on when to take action on important projects.

Balance called for in deciding when to act in general this coming week – enough info is required to make a reasonable judgement, but not so much as to invite analysis paralysis.

Light Your Match: Weekly Tarot Forecast, Dec 14 -21

Light your match. It counts.

Can you think of a time, when just a little bit of encouragement, a smile, a kind word came in exactly when you needed it?

Sometimes, it’s the smallest things that make a difference.

Weekly Tarot Forecast, December 14, 2015

There are a number of repeat cards from the recent forecast, “Choose Joy.” I totally shuffle, but when you’re doing forecasts, cards have a way of haunting you. So understand, this week my have a similar feel to the first week of December. I don’t usually suss out the astrology to look for parallels, but wouldn’t be surprised  to find them. We’ve got a nice mix of elements represented, with Pentacles/Earth energy a bit louder than the others.

Monday, Choose Your Battles – Seven of Wands: That’s advice I give–and try to take myself–on a regular basis. It’s good advice. We’ve only got some much time, so much energy, so many physical resources. How I spend mine is a matter I take very seriously. I believe I have a responsibility to be a good steward of my life energy, not to squander it. Plus there is that other, pesky issue: sometimes we fight about things that don’t matter to distract ourselves from working on our issues, that do matter. Setting priorities and being very clear on what is one’s business and what is not one’s business is a solid antidote to such problems.

6_of_Cups.jpgTuesday, Simply Love/Sacral Chakra – Six of Cups: I really like having this card paired with the Sacral Chakra, the card that came up first in this position (because this deck has Chakra cards). This energy  center rules pleasure, creativity and contentment. It’s so appropriate! And the love of the Six of Cups is not akin to the “it’s complicated” relationship designation. It’s simple generosity–trust, kindness, perhaps naive? Maybe sometimes. But without agenda. This kind of love is very comforting and healing for everyone it touches. So touch!

Wednesday, Strengthening Bonds – Ace of Pentacles: Think “tangible” today. Tangible connections, tangible commitments, tangible results. Measurable? Even better. You want manifestation energy here, even a very early form of it. So show up! Set a date, sign on the dotted line, update the resume, make the purchase–take action on whatever it is you’re toying with in a real, solid way. What is made tangible today sets a string of events in motion.

Thursday, Lead – The Emperor: The Emperor is a tricky guy. He looks so in charge! Almost authoritarian and he can be, a smidge. But more than he’d like to admit, he leads courtesy the tacit agreement of his subjects. Edicts would be without teeth if his example didn’t inspire followers. He also shoulders the weight of responsibility because of that, understanding he needs to set an example. Today, act as if you’re being watched. Not paranoid! But work to set a fine example, behaving in a way you’d be proud to have emulated. That’s the leadership that’s required right now: a fine example.

Friday, New Vitality – Ace of Wands: [Recent repeat.] Get your recreation on! A great day for going out, physical activity, date night, writing, crafts, baking, painting, etc. What brings you joy? Do some of that, and it will be like a breath of fresh air for you!

Saturday, Seek the Truth – Seven of Swords: [Recent repeat.] Observe and run all unsubstantiated claims through the Bullshit Meter. Does it make sense? Is it consistent with what you already know? Is there documentation to back it up? If not, withhold judgement, even quietly. All Tarot Sevens suggest personal responsibility, not group or collective endeavors. So make it your job to do your own fact checking today.

Sunday, Open Up – Four of Pentacles: Get ready for the coming week and pin down details. Do what you need to do to feel prepared, secure and ready for important events coming up. This can be as basic as food shopping and meal planning. It can be a little budgeting, or paying a bill. It can be slating out time blocks for what you need to accomplish in the coming days. It can even be laundry! But look to physical preparations today, for things that make you feel prepared and secure to deal with the coming week. You’ll be glad you did.

Overview/Advice, Dedicated Effort – Eight of Pentacles: [Recent repeat.] Work through it as it comes up, baby! This is a pounding-away-at-problems, a bit at a time.

Affirmation: I am a magnet, attracting unto myself. I’m not going to interpret this as “Law of Attraction” as it’s intended. Instead, I am prompted to tell you to focus on your own experience primarily right now.

What’s important to you? What work do you have to do? What contributions do your thoughts, your decisions, your actions have your life, your community and the world at large? I don’t mean to stop caring about other people. Instead, LIVE in your own now, your own life, your own issues, your own contributions.

There is a world of difference between fretting or lecturing about personal or societal problems–which evokes “problem” energy on a personal level as well as adds to the collective problem energy tone–or taking even the most ridiculously humble step towards a solution, which evokes solution energy.  You can say a prayer, light a candle, make a donation, be kind, help one person, give love.

We can feel so helpless in the face of tragedy, of pain, of hardship and think, “My little contribution doesn’t matter.” But every bit of light helps! It helps light your way, and maybe allows someone else to connect with hope when it’s needed. Like the butterfly effect, love ripples in ways you couldn’t possibly predict.

Light Your Match
