Zodiac Readings Available Again

Zodiac-2014.jpgThe last couple of years, I did a “year ahead” Zodiac forecast around the holidays. My kids have started requesting these every year as well. It’s become an odd part of our holiday tradition here.  I was crazy busy this year and didn’t manage it, but I missed doing them…especially the big overview of the year as a whole they gave me! It was fascinating to see the themes emerge across readings, one of the reasons I enjoy these so much.

So I’d like to make these available again for a while. At this point, we could either look at the rest of the year or perhaps use it to mark another milestone (like a birthday reading, for example). This is a great layout for when you are not sure what to ask about, but would like to get a feel for what’s coming up in your life.

You do NOT need to know your astrology to benefit from a Zodiac reading, but if you are familiar with the functions of the 12 houses, it will probably add another dimension for you. I pull a card for each house and an overview/take-home message for the entire reading. It’s a very simple process – we just go around the wheel!

I recommend looking at at least 6 months to year. Since we’re looking at so many different life areas, using a much shorter time frame tends to exaggerate and overemphasize the messages. (Getting the Tower for an annual reading is a whole lot different than getting the Tower for a daily check-in.) If you have a particularly critical situation, we could focus on understanding all aspects of that single situation. Just be sure to let me know that.

I’m going to offer these for $40 for a short time and if the the feedback is good, I’ll add them to my regular offerings (at $50). Otherwise, you might have to wait until the holidays again. Provided I’m more together this year.

Incoming Astro – Full Moon in Scorpio

Folks, I think this full moon in Scorpio is going to pack a punch. My astrologer friends seem to agree, so I pulled a few cards for guidance on managing the energy around it.

I usually like Scorpio moons, whether it’s a full moon in Scorpio, new moon in Scorpio, or an everyday ol’ moon in Scorpio. It’s sympatico with my energy. But this one…oy.

In short, it appears the full moon in Scorpio is going to be either an intense emotional or intense intellectual experience (thanks to Mercury’s intervention here)–wonder how much we get to choose?–maybe a “letting go” (voluntary or not), and a strong, potentially ill-timed compulsion to act. Happy, happy, joy, huh?

I think, “Deep breath” is a good mantra. I’m voting, clear head and open heart as the best way through and hence, forward. You know?

As a reminder, I’m still running my Transparent Tarot deal, if you need a quick hit around some Scorpio Moooooooooooon “issues.” Ha!

I was so excited to use the purple moon background for this video, I can’t even tell you. I mean, isn’t it perfect for a full moon in Scorpio?! Har!

Are you feeling the Full Moon in Scorpio vibes coming in?

Think Tarot is a crock? Note to the Woo-Woo Haters

dogs fightingWhat follows is a rant, directed to no one in particular.

So you think Tarot–or astrology, or runes, chakras, Reiki, magic spells, whatever–is utter bullshit? Okay. That’s nice.

Whaddya want, a cookie?

You find it obviously silly? Fair enough. I used to think the same thing. Most people do.

Of course, “most people” used to think the sun obviously revolved around an obviously flat Earth. “Most people” have drawn a lot of obvious conclusions over the centuries–conclusions where “most people” were eventually found to be fabulously wrong.

I believe in the mystical worlds not because I’m immune to reason, but because reasoning tells me I do not know everything! So I must experiment to determine truth, as best as I can understand it. Maybe my understanding of the mechanics are undoubtedly incomplete and faulty, my conceptual framework at times lacking. But my observations are unequivocal.

I believe for one reason and one reason only: I’ve seen it work.

Idiocy to me is accepting mainstream merely because it is mainstream. Idiocy is denying my experience of reality because “most people” haven’t actually taken a look. I’m very grateful I was humble enough to seek truth instead of continuing to be “right” according to most people.

I don’t want to argue with anyone. Hell, I don’t even need faith in what I do to help you, if you’re interested in considering the advice such tools can help me access. The wisdom itself is the real gift, not how one gets it. To me, it’s asinine to set aside useful truth because you’re not a fan of the process used to ascertain the truth.

But regardless, fighting with haters over what’s real is a waste of energy that could be used for something productive and I’m not interested in wasting my energy. It’s damn precious.

I don’t seek the world’s approval. I’ve got enough Aquarius, I don’t need it! Thank the Gods.

What I do seek, though, is respect…just enough respect that if someone finds what I do distasteful, they’ll be polite enough to keep it to themselves. And I’ll keep most of my opinions of those opinions to myself. That’s my end of the bargain, and some days I can promise you, I’m not getting the best end of that deal.

What do you do with people who want to argue?

New Year Zodiac Forecast Spread for 2014

Zodiac 2014

Zodiac Look-Ahead for the Collective

Happy New Year! I like to do something special for the New Year. Since I’ve done so many Zodiac spreads and already did the year-ahead  video, I thought, “Well, why not a New Year’s spread!?”

I pulled out the Housewives deck for job, figuring even if things aren’t pretty, at least the ladies will keep us entertained. This spread pulls one card for each house of the Zodiac and an overview for the year card. Refer to one of my astrology cheat-sheets if you need a reminder on what’s what.

First thing that is notable is lots of inverted cards. Eight of thirteen I pulled, so over 60% reversed. Only one Cups card—definitely not a squishy year! And only a couple Pentacles, both inverted. We’ve got a lot of Wands and Swords instead. To me, this looks like a lot of effort required for real-world manifestations. I’m not saying the work doesn’t do any good. It certainly might be invaluable in the bigger picture. But much of what you accomplish is not going to be the kind of thing you can sit across from in your living room and say, “I did that.”

Houses 1 - 3

Houses 1 – 3

1st House: Mixed drink goggles! I like this one. It’s like there’s a certain art and elegance surrounding interpersonal interactions in 2014. Putting your best foot forward can be the source of much satisfaction. I would also suggest you act like whom you want to become. Not in a creepy-stalker way or a fake-persona way, but more using the year as an opportunity to self-define, essentially. There’s some magic available there to those who make use of it. Ten of Cups

2nd House: Almost but not quite right. This looks like a strong tendency to self-criticize and potential for missing details regarding financial matters. Reversed Knight of Pentacles can border on OCD an be rather anxious. Prioritize in conjunction with list-making are good ways to save the day when this guy is out of whack. Ranking what you value most and acting consistently in keeping with those rankings helps a lot. Consider making a mission statement to follow for the year. (That New Moon in Capricorn would be an excellent time to commit to it—hint, hint!) Reversed Knight of Pentacles

3rd House: “Is this conversation done yet?” It’s a lot of work to get your message across this year, and requires great care in not being misunderstood. Sorry, but the burden for being understood remains squarely with the communicator. So make sure whatever points you insist on making are worth the trouble. Ten of Wands

Houses 4 - 6

Houses 4 – 6

4th House: Forget the Alamo! Flexibility is in order, because digging your heels in at home probably won’t net you prizes. Don’t think sit-in. Think compromise, if you can bring yourself to do so. You’ve got much better odds that way. Reversed Nine of Wands

5th House: Make art for art’s sake. It’s a good year for creative endeavors of all kinds. Emphasis is on play and what the doing itself gives you, more than what you learn from the endeavor. You may learn in the process, but it cannot be the point. If you’re responsible for children, practice regular fun time without specific objectives. Reversed Nine of Pentacles

6th House:  Making nice, kind of. Submerged tensions and stressors wear down the immune system. First, check to see if it really matters (2nd house). Then, communicate it explicitly (3rd house). Finally, don’t be stubborn for stubborn’s sake (4th house). It may not be as big of a deal as it seemed at first, approached this way. Reversed Five of Wands

Houses 7 - 9

Houses 7 – 9

7th House: Step carefully. You can get through what you need to get through, to the people you need to get through to, but it requires effort to cross the divide (3rd house). Otherwise, you could slip. Once again, make sure you know what’s really important (2nd house) and what’s not. On the plus side, the gains made here are important and useful! Six of Swords

8th House: Death and taxes visit everyone and there’s nothing to be done to stop it. No point in worrying over it, huh? I know you will anyway, but it’s not because I didn’t warn you. Reversed Nine of Swords

9th House: Forgotten what that floor looked like? When you clean up your thinking and scrub off your spiritual philosophy, it doesn’t look the way you remembered it. Expanding your horizons may leave you lost in a strange land. “This is neither good nor bad,: declares the Zen Housewife. “Only different.” Reversed Three of Wands

Houses 10 - 12

Houses 10- 12

10th House: Bewitching reputation? It totally depends on who you’re asking. How the world views you is in great flux in 2014. Eight of Wands

11th House: Be careful of what you wish for…well, sort of. You won’t get what you expected, but it could make you happy anway. However, that’s entirely up to you. The Sun Reversed

12th House:  Pulling threads? So much of what’s going on in all the other houses find their way here, each a little thread. How you address the rest of your life in 2014 can have significant psychological and spiritual impact. In other words, the battles you fight at home, at work, with the siblings or kids or within your self? They matter. How they matter largely depends on how much integrity and thought you put into them during the fighting. Five of Swords

Overview for 2014

Overview: Last time I saw this little guy, I think I told you not to go poking bears. That’s still sound advice. The overall sense I have for 2014 is that a lot of the progress we make isn’t going to be outwardly visible. Like duck paddling, much of the work happens beneath the surface and outwardly, it doesn’t seem to be moving very fast. Themes regarding how we interact with other people, what matters and what does not, and self-defining are prominent. We could groan about the stuff that doesn’t look like fun, but honestly even though some of this most definitely doesn’t look like fun, it also has a feeling of being very important to me. And I’m not one to disregard those feelings, you know. Knight of Wands Reversed

Mercury-Saturn and the Big Mouth

Big Mouth

“Oh my God! I wish I would have just kept my mouth shut!” Mercury-Saturn

Mercury-Saturn contacts can be almost debilitating. There’s often a sense of being offensive, misunderstood, or otherwise unheard. It can feel as if speech or even thoughts are unwelcome and unwanted.

Saturn’s influence may leave a taste of inadequacy that is hard to wash away. Mercury wants to be heard–and now! Fast, impulsive Mercury wants to go, go go, and is not very happy bogged down in the gummy mire of “I don’t think so!” Saturn.

Those impacted by Mercury-Saturn aspects may find it helpful to remember some feelings are more likely a function of the astrology than accurate reflection or either truth or perception. But even knowing that doesn’t make the feeling very warm and fuzzy.

It can be helpful to make sure this energy has an positive expression, though, which helps take some of the punch out of the less pleasant expressions.

Mercury-Saturn people do well to work (Saturn) to speak (Mercury) with integrity (Saturn).  Fact-checking, along with a clear, orderly thinking process, presented with respect is going to net the best outcome. That doesn’t mean the ouch factor goes away! It just makes it easier to let go of the (real or perceived) misunderstandings.

In other words, the Mercury-Saturn person will be well served by being aware.

  • Clarity of thought and purpose for communications from the outset.
  • Balancing out the drive to be heard (now!) with the drive to remain silent (forever). Each has it’s place.
  • Working hard on communications to satisfy Saturn.
  • Continuing expressions despite discomfort to satisfy Mercury.
  • Strong personal boundaries so reactions don’t take on undue importance.
  • Remembering the people who have resonance with your message will be able to hear it.
  • A whole lot of faith!

The bottom line, though, is sometimes there will be regret over words. It’s inevitable. You may know why…or not. There’s not really much to be done for this that I’m aware of, but if you’ve done the best you know how throughout, at least it’s easier to let it go.

What you don’t want to do is let it shut you down because that’s the real tragedy–not sharing your light. You know?

What’s your experience with Mercury-Saturn? Do you have anything to add?
