2014 Year Ahead Video Forecast: Spoiled Mayo?!

So I grabbed the Housewives’ deck hoping for something light and fun for 2014. You can see how well that worked out for me. It generated another classic thumbnail shot featuring “Dixie’s most bizarre facial expressions!”

Short version: Um, yeah. Big changes, some not easy. But how much those changes end up changing YOU, that’s entirely up to you. As it should be, I guess. Just don’t expect a cotton candy year ahead. Lots of shifting and moving. The upside, however, is that makes the year potentially very powerful…

What do you expect in 2014?

11/19/13: Haunting Lyrics / Death Reversed

Death Reversed

“Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters I’ve written,
Never meaning to send.
Beauty I’d always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I can’t say anymore.” –Moody Blues, “Nights in White Satin”

As I prepare to interpret Death reversed for the daily draw, the song pops into my head, “Nights in White Satin.” I had to look up the lyrics because while I’m familiar with the song, I don’t know the lyrics.

I learned the song was written when Justin Hayward was just 19. He was on a bed of gifted satin sheets, very emotional at the time, ending one love affair and embarking on a new one.

Today seems to have a bittersweet ring, saying goodbye to the old with a hopeful twist of looking forward to the future. Just like the song. That’s what I’m seeing here.

11/12/13: Tread Softly / Death

Death Morgan-Greer Tarot Deck

Oy vey. We’ve got Mr. Grim himself today, no cushion, no disguise. Death has come a’callin. What is there to say?

You deal with what you need to deal with, I guess. You cry your tears and pack up your mess and you head home, wherever home is. A hot bath and sleep if you can manage it, and you get up tomorrow and go about the business of living.

Some days are easy. Some are hard. This particular Death feels harsh to me. But following the High Priestess as he is, I can’t help but wonder if we didn’t see the end coming.

This may not be your message today. I hope not! It may be around you or you may be one of the lucky ones who isn’t particularly touched. If you find yourself in such a place, the best thing to do is be thankful and be kind to everyone you meet. You never know who is on the other side of your gaze, you know? You don’t know that person’s innermost secrets and it may be the very person whose life just got restructured.

No matter where your personal fortunes fall, this is a day to tread softly and speak kindly.

08/12/13: Empty Chair / Death Rev.

death-meaningWell, after yesterday’s crossroads, Death kind of fits in. Reversed, the impact seems blunted, which can be helpful with Death.

Death is what is gone, obliterated. Inverted, the emptiness seems a bit easier to take. I don’t think the destruction process itself is hitting right now. I’m thinking more in terms of blank spots. Like the empty seat at the dinner table. The free time when you used to _____.  The job you don’t have anymore, or the friend you’ve broken it off with. It’s reaching for the phone, and realizing you don’t have someone to call. The feeling I’m getting around this is kind of, “What now?”

It’s that hole, before it’s filled again.

That’s okay. If this is where you are, you will feel normal again. You just have to rebuild your routine. Do it consciously and it will feel natural again before you know it.

Weekly Tarot Forecast, 6/24: Do Not Cling!

Oy vey! It’s another toughie this week.

Short answer: You may not be getting what you planned upon (or deserve). Don’t let that trip you up and above all, stay flexible! The nature of this energy suggests that letting go of what ain’t working is your best bet.

Are you feeling this? God, I hope not!

06/12/13: Transformation via Specialization / Death, 8 and 2 of Pentacles

An interesting addition on Declaring your Major from a few days ago…we’ve again got the Two of Pentacles and the Eight of Pentacles, but here they team up with Death, shown majestically as the Phoenix.

See, I do shuffle the cards! To me, it looks like an exclamation point after that message.

Moving from the place of following (or believing) EVERYTHING to mastering ONE THING leads to transformation. And probably irrevocably alters your vision of “everything” in the process.
