What Can You Feel Good About? Weekly Flow Tarot Forecast, Jan 26–Feb 2

Weekly Tarot Forecast

“Do what you can feel good about.” I’ve given this advice many times, both to others and to myself in the mirror when faced with a hurtful situation. Family issues, rejections, and betrayals can sometimes leave us simultaneously wanting to make up and strike back. So in trying to decide what’s appropriate, a yardstick that doesn’t try to measure anyone else’s behavior is incredibly helpful.

This week? It’s like that. Do what you can feel good about and what you’ve committed to do.

Most of this coming week looks pretty good! While I’m not crazy about the weekend which the cards suggest may lean toward the raw side, I believe we can use the energy of the rest of the week to carry us through. It looks to be a fast-pasted week with emotional notes, starting off with the Knight of Cups, and including the Chariot and a very busy Five of Wands. The orange topic cards are people, so both yourself, others and your relationship(s) play a major role as well. In other words, this week doesn’t appear in a vacuum, folks. I expect both conflict and comforts to come from your inner circle. So be aware.

Also remember, we’re still in Mercury retrograde. So there may be a little déjà vu of old news showing up to spice up your week. Be graceful and gracious, and always double check your facts before taking action here, and you should be fine.

Monday, Future Life – Prince of Cups: This card promises an upcoming emotional connection, or a deepening of an existing emotional connection. Knights’ energy is not static; it moves! In short, your feelings take you new places. Sometimes it’s pleasant and sometimes it’s not, but it’s definitely moving. So what do you think of that?

Tuesday, Mind – Two of Wands: A decision to be made. If you wonder, “Am I up to this? Can I hold my own here?” The Two of Wands answer is “Yes,” although you may not be as certain as I am.

Wednesday, You – Ten of Pentacles: You’re surrounded by a loving family (be they biological or chosen) and the richness of being a part of that community. Revel in being a part of such a group.

Thursday, Others – The Chariot: Ah, people around you are going places! Be a follower or be a leader, but whatever you do, don’t stand still. You’ll get left behind.

Friday, Relationship – The Moon: This could go either way. There could be mystery and magic afoot, or it could turn out-and-out crazy on a dime. I would advise scrupulous honesty in all relationships. The Moon can show up for lies, and that’s not really the energy you want to invoke here. Don’t push for hard facts. Just allow interactions to take shape and don’t discount the power of emotions in creating reality.

Saturday, Hopes and Fears – Five of Wands: Either there is worry a conflict will never end, or an itching to kick some ass. Keep the temper in check.

Sunday, What You Can’t Change – Ten of Swords: Whoever has hurt you, it’s done. Whoever has not been true, it’s done. Facing up to the full impact is not fun by any stretch, but it’s the hardest part of betrayals. Once that’s over, the healing can really get underway.

Overview/Advice – Four of Wands: Regardless of what others do, honor your commitments and do what YOU feel good about. Your goodwill may waver based on others’ behavior, but your integrity should not. Stand by your word.

Affirmation: The Universe is Big Enough to fulfill my every intent. I am thinking of this in terms of expectation versus reality. I may EXPECT to get my desires in a straightforward, linear fashion because I’ve been “good” and tried my best to do my work. I may get disgruntled if I start at point A and life throws me a tsunami and I realize I’m so far away from my pre-identified point B that I can not longer find it in my radar.

But our vision is so very limited and sometimes, what we end up with is much different that what we envisioned. Doesn’t mean we’re not moving ahead or growing. It only means it’s not in the way we might have plotted it. We need both a deliberate intent for who we want to be, and the flexibility to ride the flow and discover new alternatives. At times, that ugly package is the Universe’s biggest gift and we just didn’t know. Wherever you are, make the best of it and know that if you surrender to the flow, you’ll get much further than if you fight it. Don’t ask “how” you’ll get there so much as focusing on the what you want your life to be about. That vision, attention to where you are going, is what gets you there. Fixation on the rocks brings pain. Fixation on the destination keeps you tracking ever towards it.

Hope you have a wonderful week and manage to sidestep the rocks. And if in doubt, remember, do what you feel good about! Everything else (eventually) falls into place. Much love.

How’s your week looking?

Universal Transportation Upgrade: Weekly Flow Tarot, Jan 12–18

forecast 001

We used to have an old beater car—okay, we’ve had a LOT of old beater cars, but there was one in particular that I absolutely hated. It had been in a wreck before we got it, and it drove funny. The steering wheel had a little shimmy in it—a little disorienting at first, and still bothersome even when you got used to it. The alignment wasn’t quite right. It drove…but it was old and beat up and just…well, bleh. I hadn’t picked it out and I didn’t like it and I wanted my old car instead but that was my option, what I had to drive at the time.

Well, I cursed that car every single time I drove it. Complained and sighed, rather dramatically I’m afraid. Felt sorry for myself, driving such a clunker. I fussed at the steering shimmy and griped about it every time the subject came up. In general, I made a much bigger deal about that car than it need to be, to the point I was positively cranky every time I got in the thing.

Eventually, I realized how childish my grudge against this car was. I decided, “Okay, if this is what I’ve got to drive, I need to appreciate it.” I decided my attitude was the biggest problem. So I added some personal touches, hanging up a necklace on the rear view mirror. I put new mats in it, and seat covers and a new trash bag. I spiffed it up. I actually thanked the car for getting me around safely. (Yes, I did this aloud, although not when other people were there.) And I found, when I was driving it, I wasn’t so mad any more. Lo and behold, I had even started liking that car.

A month later, I was rear-ended at a stop light and the car was totaled. Hahaha! There’s some divine car karma, right there.

We got a check from the insurance company for about four times what that car was worth. When I stopped obsessing about what I didn’t like about that car, the Universe handed me a transportation upgrade.

This week? You may be able to get yourself an upgrade from the Universe, if you can stop being pissed off about what you’ve got.

Monday, Advice – Knight of Swords: Focus! Think and act, think and act. Use clear language. This is fast-moving energy, but you can keep up. Just make sure you don’t multi-task yourself into confusion. One thing at a time.

Tuesday, Attitudes and Thoughts – Four of Swords reversed: There’s difficulty here “letting it rest” in your head. Like me cussing my old car, are you going on and on? Listen to what you’re repeating to yourself, what is disturbing your peace. It’s almost certainly coming from your own brain…

Wednesday, Action – Three of Wands: How Zen is the action of inaction? The main theme today is letting what you’ve done prior play out. Keep anything you do consistent with what you expect to get. No matter what you’re driving, appreciate it and look forward to when the Universe shows up with a new ride.

Thursday, Spirit, Five of Cups: Awwww. This is sad! What do you feel you’re lacking? What are you missing? In my story, I missed my old car, that I had picked out and didn’t shimmy in the steering. But I had to feel my sadness and let it go before I could live in the present.

Friday, What to Know – Four of Cups reversed: Not everything turns out just how you expected it would! That’s not necessarily bad, you know. Just understand, daydreams are that. Sometimes people don’t follow your script. Hell, sometimes YOU don’t follow your script. Let your daydreams inform your attitude, but know that manifestation may come in entirely different clothing.

Saturday, Significator – Ten of Pentacles reversed: Lack of contentment and satisfaction is an INSIDE job. Appreciate what you’ve got if you hope to get a Universal transportation upgrade.

Sunday, Lesson – Six of Swords: You ARE actually making that difficult transition. Reflect on the week as a whole to see your progress and honor that.

Overview/Advice – King of Cups Reversed: Understand and honor your feelings, but you don’t need to revel in them, and you (sometimes) can benefit from a little more perspective. If crying makes you feel better, cry. But then let it go.

Affirmation – I am safe in the Universe and all life loves and supports me. It’s hard to take this affirmation literally, but the general idea—the Universe supports me—that I can work with. You know? We may not get what we want but we generally get what we need, even if we don’t know we need it at the time.

Looking over these cards again, I realize there is a lot of travel in this spread. Lots of movement and motion. A lot of it is in your head. So use your power of reframing to make it as pleasant a trip as possible.

Two-Step Forward Tango: Weekly Flow Tarot, Dec 29 – Jan 4

Tarot Dec 29 - Jan 4

As I look this over, I think of the bit I just read today from my friend Josi, on the 1st quarter moon.

“It is quite common to encounter blocks to intentions at this time. These blocks are not necessarily horrible. Sometimes they are small things that we overcome quite easily. But what they do is put that challenge in front of you so you can walk through the whole assessment thing. You stop, consider your goal, consider the challenge and then decide if you still want to follow through. ” –Josi Case

That’s what this week looks like to me. Challenges and reassessing—two steps forward, one step back in a perhaps-frustrating-but-probably-fruitful dance. I think this is the kind of week that won’t make sense in the middle. It’s only after the fact we’ll realize what all happened. You know what I mean?

Monday, Goal- Magician reversed: The goal is not to have to force each and every little bit of the process. We want a little flow without having to “make it happen” utterly and entirely. Since we’re talking “goal,” that means we’re not there yet.

Tuesday, Unconscious Desires – Six of Cups:  A wish for things to be simpler, less complicated. This is a desire to let go, relax and trust the first person who stands before us. It’s a wish for a sense of innocence. In the position of “unconscious desires,” you may not be aware of just how strong this drive actually is. Be sure you’re not inadvertently overlooking the obvious or blindly trusting today. Not saying things ARE complicated or people ARE untrustworthy. For all I know, that’s not so. But factor the weight of personal desire out of the evaluation algorithm.

Wednesday, Partner, Nine of Wands reversed: The partner here is tired and wants to just let go. Expect this, and offer a hand if appropriate.

Thursday, Future – Strength reversed: You don’t have to hold out forever. But for now? Yeah. Hang on, slow, steady and gentle.

Friday, Disappointment – Chariot reversed: This is a detour. Disappointment over getting sidetracked. Even reversed, the Chariot is a pretty positive card. But I’m reading this as impatience with a delay. Sorry!

Saturday, Blocked or Covering – Queen of Swords: We need a release, and one not based on emotional consideration. Where are you overbooked, overworked, unable to keep up? What ball doesn’t really belong in your court? What habit must you give up in order to reach your goal? What’s weighing you down, or in your way? That’s the root of the detour, right there.

Sunday, Past – Five of Pentacles: The Five of Pentacles is nobody’s favorite card (at least, that I know of), but hey…it’s in the position of “past.” That helps. I see this as longing for something now gone, feeling a loss of old. It could be as simple as mourning a loss of innocence from Tuesday’s “unconscious desire.” It could be feeling Saturday’s realization, which cannot really be taken back. Honor whatever feelings you have, but reach out to your support system as well. I find there is always a support system available when I see this card; people are often just reluctant to invoke it.

Advice/Overview – The Moon: This week is a very small, and in some ways deceptive part of the picture. A lot of grounding and reassurance can take place via reframing. Work a little magic with your words, focusing on the where you’re going over where you’ve been. The moon is the realm of both magic and madness, so work the magic hard to skip the crazy part.

AffirmationListen to your heart. When we’ve got a challenging stint facing us, doing the best we can, doing what we feel good about deep down inside, is a sort of insurance. This is a way you can live without regret, so long as you know you’ve always done the best you know how to do. I used to ask my kids when facing dilemmas, “What would you feel good about?” I suspect this may be a useful question to ask yourself this week, focused only on yourself. What would I feel good about doing? Whatever it is, do that.

How’s your week looking?

Dr. Google Lies – Weekly Flow Tarot, Dec. 15 -21

Tarot Dec 15 -21

Have you ever consulted “Dr. Google” for some physical malady and left a search session convinced you have some bizarre, debilitating disease? The later at night, the more tired and stressed you are, the more dire the diagnosis. That is this week, right there. Late and night and Dr. Google is lying.

Uh, not that I would know anything about that. Har!

This layout strikes me as describing a rather uncomfortable week, but not in the objective sense as much as it looks subjectively uncomfortable. It’s perception, thinking, wants versus needs that seem to be featured here. It’s what your just-a-touch-neurotic head says versus what the facts suggest. There is extra attention to the body with the repetition of Pentacles, but also reassurance due to two clear indications of physical soundness despite potential anxiety (Lovers and Four of Pentacles in health positions). Actually, this looks to be a really good time to pay attention to taking care of physical needs, as I think it will provide a solid payoff this week. It would definitely help calm jazzed up nerves, of which we have plenty. The potential pitfalls are more of the mental variety.

Monday, Lesson – Ten of Pentacles:  The riches are in the lessons, starting today but also through the week, and I’m not talking community college. Are you taking notes? Every prick of pain has a potential goldmine of information for you.

Tuesday, Friends & Family – Devil reversed: Everyone around you is struggling with their own demons, although the hold may not be as tight as they (or you) think. There’s an opportunity for those close by to toss off some shackles, overcome some form of limitation or an addiction. There’s also opportunity to sink deeper in. It’s all in the choices.

Wednesday, Mind – Ten of Swords: OVERWHELM! Too many thoughts rattling in the brain today. What to do? Step back from the electronics, for one. Ground and get some quiet time. Deep breathing is your friend. Natural settings soothe. Journal it out if it helps. Or talk it out – did you know the Ten of Swords is associated with Gemini? Not dissin’ our Gemini brothers and sisters, for sure! But overwhelm is a very Gemini possibility, man. Talking helps decompress.

Thursday, Health – The Lovers: Your health is fine today, but it also maintains harmony with your behavior. Be mindful of fostering the sort of physical well-being you want by choices consistent with that outcome. Also? Be kind to your body. Treat it like a beloved companion. Isn’t it?

Friday, Present – Ace of Pentacles reversed: This looks to me like the check (you’d preferred to have already received) is still in the mail…a financial gain, but a little slow for your tastes. Not quite there. It’s coming. Patience would be good choice because really—what option to you have? Embrace what you cannot change and you’ll be happier for it.

Saturday, Problem – The Hermit: Do not isolate yourself, but also do not blindly accept someone else’s opinion over your own on matters pertaining to the self. YOU are the ultimate expert on you. You can seek input but draw your own, personal and unique conclusions.

Sunday, Body – Four of Pentacles: This signifies a physical stability, even if perception is wrought with worry. Lay off Dr. Google for the day and just pay attention to self-care, okay? That choice will never treat you wrong.

Advice/OverviewPage of Wands Reversed: Plenty of opportunity to step back, slow down and take your time. Do not rush! Do not fret or panic or charge ahead. Throughout the course of this week, there will be two doors available: Just a minute, I’ll figure it out and full-on panic mode.Take the first one, damnit!

AffirmationWhat do you love? Do you love feeling healthy more than sneaking chocolate cake? This week, we cannot expect to have our cake and eat it, too. Choices must be made. Confusion is easier to manage setting priorities. Set those priorities and let them guide you.

See, this kind of worry is creating the experience of problems that are not currently in physical manifestation. That’s the essence of “consulting Dr. Google.” The focus on the worst-case makes you feel worst-case, even if you’re not worst-case. So don’t run that worst case around over and over in your head. That’s the point all week, and it’s going to be most potent surrounding earthy matters—practical everyday concerns like money or health or time management. Don’t look for crisis. Look for choices and take care of yourself in the meantime.

Damn. Tarot is looking at me again!

Could you stand to lay off consulting Dr. Google?

Altered Plans: Weekly Flow Tarot Forecast, Dec 8–14, 2014

Tarot Flow Dec 8 -14

Do you set intentions for full moons? I do, most of the time. For the recent Gemini moon, I wanted to release what doesn’t serve. This intention fits into my life on multiple levels and to be frank, I don’t have the time or energy for what doesn’t feed either me personally or my goals on a larger scale. Not in the budget anymore!

This week’s Tarot flow forecast? It brings that intention to mind. This is a very practically-oriented spread, with the final goal being to take action. Move! I like that. We’ve got a mix of Majors, Swords (thoughts) and Pentacles (practicalities), with that Ace of Wands (action) as “goal” for good measure. Overall, I expect it to be an productive and well-rounded week.

Monday, Positive Influences – Justice: Balance, fairness and weighing out the concerns of all parties is the way to begin the week. This will set the stage well for the days to come. This would be an excellent time to clarify goals.

Tuesday, Immediate Future – Ace of Swords: You do NOT need the long term figured out right now. But you do need at least one clear, rational strategy to build from, right now. You’re not looking to ride it into next year or next month or even next week, necessarily. You want an idea that takes care of what’s needed in the moment, today and tomorrow. For now is what we’re shooting for.

Wednesday, Relationship – Temperance reversed: I am expecting ongoing adjustments in relationships. Not all knowledge and experience is fully integrated, but hey. We’re working on it! Consider both practical, psychological issues as well as energetic issues. It may seem the two are unrelated, but in reality they are two sides of the same coin.

Thursday, Advice – Knight of Pentacles: The Knight of Pentacles can be a bit OCD, and he’s definitely one to review and categorize. He’s also a very hard worker and sometimes, a bit too serious. His appearance as advice would suggest going over the details, double-checking your facts and plan it out. Things may not go according to your plans, mind you. Truth is, some will not. But you’re still better off here not leaving everything up to chance and doing what you can to make sure all is where you want it to be.

Friday, Hobbies and Talents – Nine of Swords: Anxiety with a side order of guilt is getting in the way of self-expression. Are you self conscious about how others perceive your efforts? Are you prone to feeling guilty for resources you devote to yourself? Because that’s what this looks like to me. Don’t use hobbies to cut yourself off from the rest of the world, either; there is often a sense of isolation that accompanies this card. Also? Getting enough sleep boosts your creativity.

Saturday, Friendship – Ten of Pentacles reversed: Friend serve very important and valuable functions, but do not single-handedly take care of all your emotional needs. Because you know what? That is totally an inside job!

Sunday, Goal – Ace of Wands: The goal here, to begin creation! It’s like the entire week is a buildup to manifesting, setting the stage. Monday, we get grounded and clear on goals. Tuesday, we enact a short-term plan. Wednesday, we deal with personnel issues. Thursday is reviewing the details. Friday is getting over ourselves. Saturday is appreciating the support of loved ones, understanding there are limitations to what you can withdraw from that bank. And Sunday, the spark has been lit and the process is underway.

Overview/Advice – Three of Pentacles reversed: Plan but don’t rigidly adhere to the plans if another, more apt opportunity arises. You know the phrase, “Rules are meant to be broken?” It comes with the caveat that the rules must first be understood. Well, this week, it’s “plans are meant to be changed,” but with the rider than you still need to have plans because they put you in the right place at the right time to get the updated schedule.

Affirmation, Claircognizance– Archangel Uriel: “Pay attention the the thoughts and ideas that come to you, as they are answered prayers.” Uriel’s name means “light of God” or “fire of God” in Hebrew, and he’s known as the angel of wisdom and repentance. We can make use of both this week. Ideas will come to make wanted changes, but in order to do so, we have to be willing to alter course. The opportunities will appear, that’s the Universe’s job. The choices to act on them, ours. If I want to release what doesn’t serve, I have to be willing to actually let go, and focus my own attention on what does.

Shortly after I set my intention, I ended up reading The Four Agreements. In man ways, it was a rather direct answer to my intention. But it’s up to me to act on that knowledge. It wasn’t really in the form I expected, you know? But this week, it’s a lot like that. You’ll get some answers, options for fulfilling your plans. They just won’t show up in the guise you were expecting.

How’s your week looking?

Review and Rewind: Weekly Flow Tarot, Nov. 10-16

Weekly Flow Tarot Nov 10-16

Literal Tarot was literal yesterday when I cut my finger on a Page of Swords day. I did notice echos throughout the week of my perceptions of who I am versus the reality. This coming week, it appears we’ll have opportunity to act on what we noted last week. The good news is, if we’re not satisfied with how things are coming out, we can write some new endings!

Monday, Attitudes and Thoughts – Queen of Swords reversed: There could be tendency to be especially harsh or critical, judgmental. It may not come out of the mouth so much as show up in behavior, in facial expressions, or even in choices. Do put a little extra effort into thinking logically and keeping the facts straight. Don’t make assumptions. Double check. Review.

Tuesday, Spirit – Four of Pentacles Reversed: This is a pulling in, an over-conservative approach to life. In the position of Spirit, I would tell you to take a few risks, and trust your team of invisible friends to have your back. You know what I mean? Why are you worried? Rewind and make adjustments.

Wednesday, Resolution – Six of Wands Reversed: You win some, and you lose some. The resolution today is not to expect everybody to follow your lead, not to insist on winning them all over, or winning every battle. Look at the war, not the individual skirmishes. You decide what really matters to you, for you, and release the rest. Always truly release the rest. Rewind,

Thursday, Question – Nine of Pentacles: What have you really learned so far? Lessons have a sometimes rather dramatic tendency to repeat themselves until you’ve “gotten it.” Get it, and you’re good. So that’s what you want to ask yourself: what can I learn from this? The answer could surprise you. It could also help you leap ahead. Review-note what you’ve learned-and rewind-and act on it.

Friday, What to Take from the Past – Page of Pentacles: How did you used to make things work, organize your day and get things done? Just because you’ve had changes in your life since doesn’t mean you didn’t have good ideas. Look to practical, detail-oriented strategies that you may have left behind. What served you well at the time that you don’t do anymore? Rewind.

Saturday, Immediate Future – Ten of Cups Reversed: Loved ones may not be 100% on board with all of your choices, but that doesn’t change the fact they love you. Allow family (biological or chosen) their space and the freedom to have whatever feelings they have. It’s not a reflection on you and love wins out over minor disruptions. Rewind and let others manage their own reactions..

Sunday, Heart of the Situation – Seven of Swords Reversed: This isn’t about intentional duplicity. But someone may be fooling themselves just a touch. Double check your assumptions to make sure it’s not you. Review (and rewind if  warranted).

Overview/AdviceKnight of Swords Reversed: This suggests to me a methodical approach to the week. The Knight of Swords is traditionally a pretty speedy fellow, quick to make decisions and quick to regret them! Reversed, he’d be well advised to back up, slow down and double check. We’re still reviewing and, if appropriate, rewinding for another go!

Affirmation: Blue – Activate Your Healing Power. Sometimes it feels discouraging to revisit old issues. Why haven’t I mastered this? Why am I not further along? We want old woes to be yesterday’s news. But these periods of review are more than “proof” we don’t make the grade. They are healing checkpoints, invitations to refine our processes and also appreciate how many strides we’ve truly made. Take that as the gift it is. Soothe the raw spots in your life with love. Love always helps.

Are you getting a bit of review déjà vu lately?
