Devil Reversed: Make Your Escape!

Opportunities for escape can come in all different forms. Sometimes, the packaging isn’t so pretty. A relationship wasn’t working or a job goes away.

Sometimes, it’s a lot more pleasant. You know you’re moving on (and up).

But whatever the specific circumstance, we might want to make the most of those opportunities this coming week.

Next Week in Tarot

For the forecast, it’s The Devil reversed and advice is Eight of Wands reversed – pictured here from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot deck.

Here’s a quickie video forecast.

Your cell door is unlocked. There’s an opportunity to escape a circumstance or situation you are ready to leave behind.

No need to force anything here. This isn’t something you’ll need to make happen. Just keep your eyes open and when you see your chance, slide on through.

It’s coming…

If you’d like to set up a personal consult, hit me up here.

World & Eight of Wands: Open and Ready

When you set intentions, it’s far from a one-and-done deal. The process is gradual because it’s a becoming, not a once-off event.

I wanted to spend less energy on judging. I decided it wasn’t a good use of chi for me. My conclusion, this is a good thing, that is a bad thing, this is how someone should behave, etc. doesn’t serve any useful purpose.

If I’m not going to back-seat drive other people’s lives (and I’m not), then what point is there in outlining what’s righteous based on my perspective?

My job is to live my truth, not decide yours for you.

And there’s benefit I’m finding from this approach. Instead of pondering what something “means,” I just look for what feels best to me. I let my heart lead the way. I make my decision and then line up behind that. I let the Universe drive the rest of the Universe and I just steer my conscious life.

This coming week, ignore the foregone conclusions and instead, focus on being attentive to options that suddenly crop up.

Next Week in Tarot

We’ve got a quickie video of this one! Because it’s been a while since I’ve been on camera, mostly.

The forecast is The World and advice is the Eight of Wands, shown here from my well-travelled Legacy of the Divine Tarot deck.

Yes there is a picture of what’s happening (either collectively or personally but I’m leaning toward personally for this forecast). And yes, it looks complete, with restrictions and boundaries and all that whole “set in stone” vibe intact, that’s how it’s coming across.

BUT…with the Eight of Wands as advice? Act as if it’s not set. Act as if all the options are still in play. Just keep your mind open and keep doing your thing, expecting the best.

There may pop up an opportunity that 1. is unexpected, and 2. has very little notice. Be ready to move decisively to make the most of this!

If you want help getting lined up, give me a holler. I’ve been doing a lot of audio readings lately (where you get a pic of the cards and a full length mp3 recording) and have gotten great feedback on them. People love the audio. Real-time Dixie. Ha! So if you’d like to give this a try, I’d be happy to see what I can get for you.

And be well, friends.

King of Pentacles Reversed: Help that is Helpful

“Believing in someone is a much greater gift than protecting them. ” I was handing out this (unsolicited) advice to a friend recently, and I felt the punch of it even as I said the words.

I had to laugh later when I realized: this is advice I could well stand to heed myself. That’s why I felt the extra punch.

Parenting helped me some in this regard, but it sure didn’t eradicate the drive to fix or rescue. No matter whose knot it is, I want to untangle it. The urge is compelling, not subtle. And the urge says a lot more about me than the specific person or predicament I’m looking at.

[bctt tweet=”What you feel is about your interpretation, not what you are seeing.” via=”no”]

Of course, there is nothing wrong with being part of another’s solution. That’s a very humbling and rewarding role. I get the honor of this often when I read Tarot. But that doesn’t mean I’m the ultimate origin of the solution. Anything but!

It may seem like a subtle distinction, but in reality, it’s huge: if I’m solid, tuned in and steady, I remain receptive to the ongoing flow of intuitive inspiration. So in those interactions, I can easily find the just right words to deliver at just the right time. I know exactly what to do and exactly when to do it.

My faith in what I know about the Universe and the power I know everyone has can help override their worries. I’m not infected by their distress. It’s not that I don’t care. It’s really the opposite: I see them in their power and I know in a very strong way, they are equipped to create their own lives, whether or not they’re plugged into that fact.

Really, feelings of love, caring and faith are my cues I’m actually being helpful. When I feel scared or upset for someone–and see myself somehow as the path to their salvation or worry that I don’t know how to save them–that’s evidence I’m currently off-center and have little to offer beyond amplifying what they are already feeling.

Thanks, Tarot, for another timely reminder in the form of next week’s forecast.

Next Week in Tarot

This week, our forecast shows up in the guise of the King of Pentacles reversed with advice from the Eight of Wands reversed (Mini Radiant Rider-Waite in a Tin). While these aren’t particularly harsh Tarot cards, seeing them both reversed adds an element of tension.

For a little more clarification,  I grabbed my Botanical Inspirations deck and we got Amaryllis: Determination and Creative Achievement. It’s speaking to the outcome of following this advice.

I suspect we’ll generally have what we need to manage this coming week, but may not feel very sure of that fact. We may reach out to others, especially for practical or physical assistance. There’s also a potential for over-extending personal resources in an effort to rescue or otherwise provide for others you may not see as capable of taking care of themselves.

So questioning either your own ability to manage or someone else’s may be part of the mix. In either case, you want to make sure any action taken is done so from the right place. If you find yourself saying something like, “If I don’t do this, who will?” that’s your cue, you’re buying into a mirage. Same goes for thinking, “There’s no way I can manage this.” Both are illusion.

The advice here is to the point: don’t see anything as “an iffy situation.” It’s not. See it as workable. See any problem or crisis as serving a purpose, a turning point or improvement opportunity.  See whatever situations that crop up as necessary, even helpful to strengthing and clarifying the greater picture. See it all as a means of leveling up.

“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” –Maya Angelou

True creativity is inspired. That’s why you cannot use it up. Your job isn’t to produce it from thin air, either for yourself or someone else. Your job is to tune in and allow the flow. This also sets the stage for other people hooking up to it as your connection helps influence them at the same time.

I’m not suggesting you shouldn’t provide support. Done right, that’s a beautiful experience for all involved! But when you do it from a position of strength in compensation for another’s weakness, it’s only reinforcing the status quo and lack of stability. If it doesn’t feel good, it’s not really helping.

I AM saying to only offer your own energy up from a steady and grounded space. If you want to provide meaningful support, do so only when you’re feeling strong love, appreciation, and respect for the strength and abilities of the other person you wish to assist. In such cases, you are tuned in and whatever you give will have a much more meaningful and longer-lasting impact. And isn’t that why we do it?

How comfortable are you with providing support? Have you noticed it working this way for you?

If you’d like a little support coming from a space of faith in your abilities to master your life, give me a holler for a personal session. ~Dix

8 of Wands Rx: Just in time?

Thoughts about time have been rolling around in my brain lately. The feelings of pressure to get it done. Or the worry over how long it takes. The guilt over not doing it yet. The longing and wondering, if it will ever happen. Of course, there’s also the swift flight of time when I’m having fun or the surprise at learning what day of the week it actually is.

Because yes, that happens. I know it’s not just me.

I have a million and two ideas of things I want to do. Additionally, there are some I feel I need to do or should do, but one could argue I need to clear up my energy on those subjects. And I wouldn’t disagree. But that’s okay, too. It’s not my job to be perfect.

I’m very blessed to be in a position of working with my natural rhythms and cycles. This helps everything so much! To the extent you’re able, it’s a great idea to honor that. And it would be a great idea to be especially mindful of your own cycles and doing your best to roll with them over the next week.

Hint, hint!

Next week in Tarot

The Eight of Wands reversed tells us what to expect, with the Queen of Wands lends a regal presence as advice from the colorful Tarot Illuminati. I’m getting this as temporal disruptions. Like it may feel like time is out of whack: either worries that unwanted situations will never end or anxiety that your world is moving too fast to manage. Either way, the question of “how long?” doesn’t have an obvious answer and it may be disconcerting. Feeling out of sync and a little disoriented is to be expected in such circumstance.

But that Queen of Wands is very clear: no compromise and no fear. If one door closes, another will open. This isn’t a blind hope, but more a knowing. The task at hand is to remain clear, focused and purposeful. Let no setback bother you! Nor do you need to worry over readiness. Your job, next week (and always) is not lining up the particulars. Instead, get your energy lined up! Clear energy helps you easily navigate the particulars just as surely as muddy energy attracts a muddled mess.

[bctt tweet=”There is no time but now. #QueenOfWands ” username=”goddess_dix”]

To stay sharp and focused, be mindful of your own cycles and need to recharge. I see people so often, cussin’ and fussin’ at themselves because the whole power-through approach wears them down. To stay in the groove, you need downtime. You need replenishment. You need at least a little bit of quiet and rest and good food to support your physical apparatus. It makes a world of difference.

Good timing isn’t luck or chance. It’s a predictable outcome of tuning in to your intuition. Like any other skill, it’s greatly enhanced by regular practice. The key is a light touch, not being too emotionally wrapped up in the question. Detaching a little. Don’t expect the answer as you ask the question. Let it go and allow the Universe to deliver it up to you instead. If you’re willing to let the Universe lead that dance, it will.

Is your time feeling fluid lately?

I expect to be offering the 2019 Zodiac Look-Ahead readings until the end of the year. It’s a keep-able mp3 format with pictures of your cards, forecasting on all the major areas of your life for the coming year. If you’d like one, shoot me $50 and I’ll put you on the list.

Mine Vs. Yours: Weekly Tarot, Mar 6 – 12, 2017

The grocery checker looked me up and down.

Are my pants irking her?

Some people don’t approve of fuzzy pants at the grocery. What harm they see in it, I have no clue. It’s not a funeral, for Godssakes. Am I disrespecting the broccoli? I just want some coffee creamer and chocolate-something. Should I have to change clothes for that?

I think not, but you probably guessed as much. Besides. The world needs more color and I’m doing my part.

Doesn’t matter if she likes my pants or not. I’m in her line. So be it.

“I just love your hair!” she says, when it’s my turn up. Oh.

Now, I don’t worry so much about what people think any more–a blessing of age. But there was a time, once upon a self-conscious phase ago, when I chastised myself for wanting to wear fuzzy pants everywhere.

“You just need to grow up!” I’d say sternly inside my head.

“What kind of a person lives their lives in fuzzy pants?” Of course the answer to that is easy enough. The kind of person who really likes fuzzy pants!

My job is to decide what pants suit me that day, and wear them.  Not to bother about outside reaction to the pants. That checking other faces instead of hitting up the mirror is what trips us up.

This coming week is a lot like that.

Daily Bullet Points

It ain’t touchy-feeling this week, folks. But it doesn’t have to be scratchy-ouchie, either. Up to you, to play the cards as they come.

  • Monday, Eight of Swords. Limitations are self-imposed. In the context of having “scripts,” know people may not play their prescribed roles. Focus on just your own role instead for better outcome.
  • Tuesday, Eight of Wands. The sense of unsettledness is not fun, but short term. Everything is already underway, dude! Chill and let the energy that’s already in motion play out.
  • Wednesday, Five of Wands. Are you fighting? Do you really need to be? Sidestep unnecessary kerfuffle and choose your battles. People have wildly divergent interpretations of the same events.  Respect and let be. Because if you try to force others to become you, it won’t go well.
  • Thursday, Knight of Wands rx. Be wary of acting impulsively. Stay heart-centered, yes. But don’t insist that others understand you. That’s much less important than being you. You stay in your joy without looking for anybody else to validate your excitement.
  • Friday, Six of Pentacles rx. Be generous with assumptions. Assume the best of all.
  • Saturday, Page of Swords rx. Miscommunications and wires crossed. Possibility of bluntness, without malice but misunderstandings and sore feelings are possible. Be aware and you can miss than bus.
  • Sunday, Knight of Cups. Emotionally supportive tone to close the week. Good day to bask in love, in whatever form it exists in your love. Focus on loving feelings

Summing it up: The less you try to control others, situations, and conditions outside yourself, the better off you’ll be. All control starts at home. With you, in your own head, I’d add. You know, In case you had already turned your attention to spouse or kids or something…snort.

Are you tuned to your own channel?

Minding Your Own Business is Good Medicine: Tarot Forecast, Oct 31 – Nov 6, 2016

“I’ve decided to forget worrying about my kids,” I told my mom the other day. “I am staying out of their business completely and I’m a lot happier this way.”

“Really, Dixie? I don’t know how you can manage it.”

I was surprised. Really surprised. I thought my mom was pretty darned good at this! With the exception of an occasional lapse, she almost never tells us what to do or expresses judgement over our choices. (Okay. I’m not counting that face she makes sometimes when she sees something she doesn’t like. She can’t help that.)

“Oh, I worry all the time,” Mom confided. “It never stops. I just try to keep my mouth shut unless I’m asked.”

She clearly does a pretty good job of it.

For me, it’s not about caring. I care every iota as much as I ever have.

It’s just that my kids are adults now and I respect that. I respect the fact their choices are not mine, any more than my choices are my mother’s. I respect the fact they have access to the exact same resources as I do–those of the Universal stream of wellness. And I respect that, as individuals, it’s THEIR JOB to live their lives and figure out what they want and how to live. Not mine.

Also, it’s a whole lot nicer to say, “I’m sure you’ll figure it out” and mean it than to try and figure it out for them. It’s just good medicine, minding your own business, all around.

This week? This would be a very handy philosophy to adopt in general. (Okay, I think “always,” not just this week. But I am admittedly biased.)

Tarot Forecast Halloween Week

Happy Halloween, y’all! I decided to skip the Zombie Tarot this week even though the forecast begins on Halloween because why? I didn’t feel like using it. Reason enough, man.

If you’re into audio, here’s an audio version of this weekly forecast reading. You can also subscribe to the audios (and whatever else I toss up there) on iTunes here or you can download the files or subscribe via rss here.  Because who knows what I might decide to record and toss up there?

We’ve got some inverted cards, especially in the beginning of the week. So the energy is there, but not freely expressing. So we’ll probably have a slow start to the week, but no worries. It clears nicely by the end of the week. Looking at themes, I’m seeing the idea of being responsible for your own self and only your own self, and butting out of everybody else’s self. Even if you “know they are wrong!” Especially if you feel that way. You know why?

Trusting another to work out their own life, their own thoughts, and their own course is an act of respect and love. Anything short of that is sending the message, “I don’t trust you.” Not only that, but “I don’t trust your connection to the Universe to get you through this is the best way possible. So I have will do for you.” That, my friends, is not true and it’s a fancy way of avoiding mirrors.

Monday, Ten of Pentacles rx: I like this card in general. But today, I want to tell you to be aware of your purchases and put off impulse purchases. I don’t see this as heavy, not a big financial issue, but more like buying something and seeing it on sale the next day. Also? Extrapolate the concepts towards energy resources and not just cash. Like you may start something that requires more time, energy or effort than you were prepared for. So expenditures of any sort may demand more than you had initially budgeted. Not a shortage so much as just more than you expected.

Tuesday, The Empress rx: The Empress is a peach no matter how she shows up. Today though…don’t mother those that don’t want to be mothered. Don’t meddle or offer unsolicited advice. You’ll have much better luck focusing on your OWN projects instead of other people’s projects.

Wednesday, Ten of Wands: Here’s one I’d rather see inverted! But you get what you get. Many tasks. Feelings of being burdened with responsibilities. Ask yourself, which are truly yours. Some may not be. Secondly, prioritize for the important stuff and let everything else go. Focus first and foremost on what matters truly, and the day will go well.

Thursday, Queen of Wands rx: Normally when this lady shows up reversed, there can be potential for being stubborn or overcontrolling. But right now, let’s hone in on your disposition and general attitude. There is a tendency to be fussy over stuff that isn’t that big deal in the bigger picture. Like a child who has missed their nap, there may be a little crankiness out in the wild. If your mood is off, cut yourself and everybody else some slack. Withdraw instead of striking out and allow yourself time to get back to your happy space.

Friday, Eight of Wands: Stuff may feel unsettled and up in the air. But the energy is moving quickly and it will be settled in short order. Know that all the components already in place. Like someone who has already sent off a letter that cannot be retrieved, what’s going down is a done deal. So let it be and call upon your faith because that’s what you’ve got.

Saturday, Nine of Cups: Weekend looks great! This is “the wish card.” All is right with the world kind of feeling. Expect a good day and enjoy it.

Sunday, Four of Swords: It’s an opportunity to set down your burdens and rest and replenish. It should be a happy, fun and replenishing time for most over the weekend. Have fun!

Overview/Advice: Page of Cups: Be loving, be kind, and live from your heart, yes. But to expand, pay a lot of attention to your feelings! They are your GPS. If it feels icky, don’t touch it! Please don’t let your brain talk you out of it. You don’t need a list of reasons why you don’t feel it. And likewise, if you’re feeling excited, go with it! Don’t separate yourself from your own internal signal by discounted it. Your emotions are extremely important, this is where you get so much guidance! So throughout the week, look to let your emotions chart your course. Honor them, as they are SO valuable and important! A lot of psychic and intuitive info comes in this way.

Affirmation: I am at peace with my age. What are you gonna do if you’re not? Makes a lot of sense to make peace with whatever you cannot change. If you know me, you know I pretty much don’t care about my age. Your age doesn’t dictate what you can and cannot do. What’s in your heart and your desires drives this. I love being my age–I like the life experience and the confidence that comes with a few miles, along with a little broader perspective. But you will feel how you feel. I would suggest, however, you look for things to appreciate about whatever age or place you happen to be, you’ll be much happier. Look to stuff to feel good about no matter what!

You cannot control others. You are happier when you live life not obsessing over what you cannot control. Be happy. Live your own life and focus on what matters to you. Show everyone the same respect. It’s the best advice I can give you…for this week and yes, forever beyond, too.

Are you at peace with what cannot be changed?

This forecast uses the Tarot Nova mini deck, and the Louise Hay Power Thought Cards for the affirmation. If you dig my stuff, you may like my book, Everyday Tarot Archives, and/or a consult. Be well! ~Dix
