Purge Fest: Weekly Flow Tarot, June 22 – 28

weekly tarot forecaset

What’s not working for you? Because the majority of this week seems to be about purging what isn’t working. You know. Like a cat walking across your weekly Tarot layout.

I’ll be honest. I advise that OTHER PEOPLE purge a lot more than I manage to accomplish myself. Does that make me a hypocrite? It’s so much easier to give advice than take it!

But really? I think it’s time…

It will lighten your load a lot, if you clean out the closets, both literally and metaphorically. If you’re feeling stuck, particularly, letting go of old junk, which holds old energy, will do wonders. If it’s overwhelming, don’t worry. Just do a little bit at a time and you’ll be surprised at how much of a difference it makes.

So let’s get our work gloves on here and get busy with the week, shall we?

Monday, Passion Ignited – Knight of Wands: A day full of joy and excitement! I like this one. It may be romantic, creative or just plain doing what you love to do. But it’s clearly a day to get excited. Enjoy it! There are challenges coming so make the most of this.

Tuesday, Deception & Envy – Eight of Pentacles reversed: Jealous coworkers? Beware. Strained partnerships? Watch for some truth-bending or plain ol’ jealousy coming into play. If something isn’t quite working, look to jealousy as potential cause. Don’t hold on to it. Just be aware of it, as a factor.

Wednesday, Moving on – The Emperor: One word here–boundaries. Set (and enforce) them to move ahead. Ignore them at your own peril. M’kay?

Thursday, Material Harvest – The Tower reversed: Finances may take a hit, but not the end of the world. Whatever is crumbling down, is already broken. Denying it doesn’t fix it. You have a chance to fix it up before it reaches critical mass. I’d advise doing just that.

Friday, Material & Spiritual Prosperity – Nine of Wands reversed: Perseverance is a virtue and sometimes, damn useful. Bull-headedness? Meh, not so much. Ask for help if you need it. And as Kenny Rogers said, “Know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em.” You’ll get further realizing that sometimes, stepping back is the best course of moving forward.

Saturday, Disruption – The Empress reversed: No smothering! This looks like mommy time (or a “mommy attitude”) run amok. Don’t be overly (or uninvitedly) parental to the people around you, unless, you know, you’re actually the parent. On the other hand, someone suffering an emotional blow or setback may require more “mothering” energy than normal. Just be sensitive to how you are connecting to others and whether or not you’re coming across as parental.

Sunday, Conflict & Defeat – Four of Wands reversed: Today is all about safety zones. If you don’t have one or cannot provide it for someone else, it’s…just sad. That’s all. Honor the need for safe space. Appreciate those who offer it to you, and treat it as sacred space whatever safe harbor you offer to someone else. Whatever you do, absolutely do not violate another’s trust. Trust transgressions made today will not be easily forgotten.

Overview/Advice – Three of Cups reversed: Make your own decisions. Friends are the bomb, no doubt! But live your own life. You’re the one who has to tolerate the consequences of your actions.

Affirmation, Clear Your Space – Archangel Jophiel: “Get rid of clutter, clear the energy around you, and use feng shui.” The overall theme I’m seeing this week is on letting go of what is not working. It’s clearing your space to make way for the new–figuratively, sure, but also literally. Clearing the decks is essential. This is not always an easy or fun process, but it is always a necessary one.

Cleaning out the closet: Weekly Flow Tarot Forecast, April 13 – 19

thumbnailThis forecast looks a lot like a “purge week” to me. From the start, ignoring what’s sentimental for loved ones to focus on your own needs (Monday), putting up with the chaos in route of a clean out (Tuesday), being hit with the changes in your life as you go through reminders mid-purge (Wednesday), pushing through to finish (Thursday), and not being clear on when you’re done (Friday). There’s even a little remorse over what’s been changed (Saturday) along with a well deserved rest (Sunday). I’m not sure exactly how this is going to manifest on an individual level, but I think it’s a very interested way, the whole reading came together.

Another thing notable this week: With the exception of Sunday, there is a LOT of motion here. Wands all over the place with a couple swords to punctuate. And a couple of Majors in the mix. I would not be surprised if a realization that hits mid week (Death) is processed and accepted around the end (Hanged Man).

Monday, Power –  Ten of Cups reversed: There’s a lot of power in what we learned from our family. But this power goes both ways…both those examples we learned to emulate, and those examples we opted to eschew. You know what I’m saying? Both the ways we favor our family and the ways we diverse are defining. Always be yourself and honor that.

Tuesday, Patience –  Eight of Wands: Things are happening! Just not done cooking yet. Hang on, hang on! Won’t’ be too long before the “what next” feeling is clear.

Wednesday, Foundations & Achievements –  Death: Transformations have changed who we are. Those challenging times, we build upon and grow from. They suck during, but the next morning? It’s pure gold. Give yourself a little kudos for making it through, and acknowledge what you’ve learned. Because really? It comes in handy. Secondary: With it being Tax day in the US, your foundations and achievements (income) can take a hit with tax bill. After all, they say the only two sure things in life are death and taxes. ;-)

Thursday, Suffering in Silence –  Ten of Wands: Oh man! That’s a heavy weight. Hang on, Hang on. Get help in you can, because maybe some of the burden can be shared.

Friday, Temptation –  Four of Swords reversed: There’s a temptation to hold on to what should be let go, here and now. I’m seeing this like somebody baiting you in a conversation. Are you going to do whatever it takes to get the last word, even if you know it’s not in your best interests? Or are you going to just get on with your life?

Saturday, Disruption –  Four of Wands reversed: “Forever” usually means “As far as I can see right now.” There is a disruption with an established setup, routine or arrangement with this. Roll with the flow, baby.

Sunday, Partnerships & Alliances (+ Sacral Chakra) –  The Hanged Man: Calm down from yesterday. Exercise a little faith. No need for goal-directed activity. But do something that gives you joy. In fact, your J.O.B. JOB for the day is to feel some joy. Get on it!

Overview/Advice –  Five of Wands reversed: Another week to choose your battles man. Although I’ll admit, I consider that advice relevant 24/7. Minimize conflict. Ignore what doesn’t really matter and don’t go around with the silly notion you can bring the world to your perspective. Settle for living your life from your perspective. Best to keep your nose out of the rest of the world’s business. We generally have enough to do minding our own.

Affirmation –  Scarlet: Attract Success. To attract success, you have to first let go of “not success.” You know what I mean? You want a new wardrobe, you clean out the closest. This helps on a physical level as well as metaphysical level. This week is very busy, cleaning out the closet. If your “closet” is a mess, it will be a tough week. But take heart in that it looks good for you to be in a good place with the whole ordeal by the end. And that feeling of accomplishment? Well worth it!

Don’t be a Diva – Weekly Tarot Forecast, Mar 9 – 15

Don't be a Diva - Weekly Tarot Forecast, Mar 9 - 15 4

In a nutshell, we’re looking at a week where there is neither time nor energy for diva behavior. I’d say a humble, down-to-earth orientation will serve you very well. Some potential for conflict here. Ironic, since I pulled out the Housewives Tarot because I wanted something a little fun; I wanted a bit of cheering up. Yet another indication, the cards are gonna say what the cards are gonna say.

I do find it notable, the number of orange, topical cards, which represent people.  And we’re dealing mostly with the suits of Swords and Wands, so we’re looking at a very active week, perhaps with some ouch. However, no Major Arcana suggests any discomfort this week probably isn’t of the life changing variety. Fair enough!

Monday, Disappointment –  Eight of Swords: What’s holding you back is YOU. This may come, not only as shock, but probably disappointment if not downright annoyance. It’s so much nicer to be able to project that sort of thing. Sorry!

Tuesday, Partner –  Ten of Swords: A partner may be utterly overwhelmed or  feeling very hurt, even betrayed. At the very least, don’t expect messages to be returned promptly. It’s not necessarily personal…although that’s a possibility. Just know that people struggle with much that the eyes cannot see. The story will likely surface later on.

Wednesday, Coworkers –  Knight of Pentacles Reversed: Who is maybe lazy, cutting corners or doing sloppy work? You may have to correct someone else’s mistakes at the office today. If you didn’t do it yourself, double check it. And don’t be the sloppy one yourself, for goodness sakes.

Thursday, Relationship –  Ten of Wands Reversed: I always see this card reversed as a big, fat release. In the context of relationship, we’re looking at either moving past old baggage, or merely ceasing to give a damn, This isn’t the day to make mountains out of molehills. Better to declare the molehills immaterial and move the Hell on. Word?

Friday, Others –  Seven of Wands: Somebody is probably on a mission. Be aware of how beliefs, alternative agendas and spiritual orientation may impact behavior. There’s more to those “it’s the principle of the thing” battles than what is visible on the surface.

Saturday, Spirit –  Four of Wands: Time out for healing! Rest, recreate and if you are in the company of others, choose those whom leave you feeling absolutely safe and supported. Enjoy this welcome break after a potentially challenging week.

Sunday, Clarification –  Seven of Swords Reversed: As far as enemies go, you are your own worst. (But then again, aren’t we all?) Believe people when they tell you who they are. Ignore your gut and those red flags if you want, but know it’s a choice doing so—your choice. This is a week nobody sneaks one past you without your permission on some level.

Overview/Advice –  Ten of Pentacles: I’m really glad to see this card upright showing up for the week as a whole! It more or less rescues the entire forecast. Take time throughout the week to focus on gratitude. Specifically identify not only loved ones, your “soul family,” but why you love them. If you’re not sure how you feel about something that comes up this week, any ambiguity that arises? Choose generosity. Be kind and nonjudgmental and choose generosity. That doesn’t mean ignore your gut. It just means don’t attach negative assessments to the “why” of other people’s “what,” you know what I mean? In other words, if my alarm buzzers go off, I will heed them, but I won’t create an unflattering story to go with them. I will appreciate the fact I am able to listen to my own inner voice, and leave the rest of the world to listen (or not) to theirs. If you truly invoke this energy, you can feel lucky and blessed pretty much independent of any external circumstance. I’d say that’s a pretty nifty trick, wouldn’t you?

Affirmation –  Decide. Didn’t we just get this one? In the context of this week’s forecast, well…you decide the path you take. You decide what you believe. You decide to be generous or stingy with how you attribute other people’s motivations. You decide what you want and you decide how you go about it. We can get universal support, but we’ve got to make the call first, on what we want to do. And then we have to ask for it. Regardless, there is a definite energetic boost that comes from deciding what you want. So do it!

How’s this fitting your week?

Authentic with Cautious Optimism: Weekly Flow Tarot, Feb 23 – Mar 1

Weekly Tarot Forecast Feb 23

I’m fairly well known for being the odd woman out, but it’s not because I try to be weird. It’s genuinely who I am, and allowing myself that freedom makes pursing my own dreams possible. And the forecast this week is sort of a personification of that very idea. I’m seeing a call to first become aware of where we are uncomfortable “fitting in” and finding ways to be more authentic instead. It’s not either/or, my way or yours. It’s being an distinct star, while still existing within a larger galaxy.

This week, the cards suggest a process of balancing self-assuredness with self-questioning. How do you know which worries are realistic threats versus which are not? How do you decide when to listen to the counsel of others versus when to go your own way? Those are issues we’re considering. There looks to be plenty happening overall with the preponderance of the Wands suit –  fire energy can both create and eliminate. In terms of significance, the end of the week has more impact than the beginning. That’s where the punch sits. I would not be surprised if there was some kind of epiphany that gets rolling on Saturday, but is more clearly felt on Sunday.

Monday, What is Hidden –  Four of Wands Reversed: False bravado, and a sense of almost-but-not-quite feeling at home/dixiblog/domains/afoolsjourney.com/public_html is notable, albeit well camouflaged to most looking on. Consider a hesitancy to commit to a course of action as a clue, which particular topic(s) this feeling touches. Conversational pauses are pregnant (with insight). What’s not said says as much or more than what is said.

Tuesday, Crowning Influences –  Three of Wands: Focus on where you are going, not how you get there. Your end result is important here. Your expectations, your desires, your personal vision of “your ship coming in” holds sway. Put out the kind of energy you’d like returned to you. Also, understand that however you define success becomes the cornerstone from which day-to-day decisions are built upon. Clarity about your deepest desires can make the process much more effective.

Wednesday, Action –  Three of Cups Reversed: On top of your own desires (or confusion) sits “what everybody else thinks.” That can be a heavy bag to tote about! Others’ input is best neither wholesale adopted or out-of-hand rejected, but thoughtfully reviewed. Consider the counsel of community, but act upon personal convictions. Pay special attention to the areas where your inclinations differ from consensus, because those points of departure hold significance. Ultimately it’s your life to live, so live it the way you believe best, damn it!

Thursday, Clarification –  Seven of Wands: You know that part in the Hero’s Journey, where the protagonist says (a smidgen dramatically), “I have to do this alone”? That . This is a follow up from yesterday, taking a leave from the safety of the group to fight your own battles in your own way. As long as you are adhering to your own ethical standards, do what ya gotta do!

Friday, What to let go of in the Future –  The Magician: Yes, you can make your own way but you cannot make the way for everyone else! The Magician here reminds us that we do not control others even by carefully crafted approaches, and the illusion we sometimes may? Well, we’re going to have to release such notions if not today, soon. Control is best exercised at home/dixiblog/domains/afoolsjourney.com/public_html, aimed squarely at oneself.

Saturday, Blocking or Covering –  The High Priestess: The unspoken is again a player in today’s dynamics. Unwritten rules, gut feelings without external confirmation, and what’s not said? The day drips with the energy of such non-events. Potential for emotional attachment to specific outcomes, which may block intuitive skills. If you’re trying to tune in, you may want to get quiet and pretend you’re considering someone else’s life for greater clarity. Sleep is especially beneficial for tidying up a cluttered head.

Sunday, Spirit –  Ten of Swords Reversed: What is clear now, that wasn’t at week’s beginning? Allow realizations to fully sink in, especially if they seem at first overwhelming. That’s how you process it. You may now be able to articulate what you sensed but couldn’t express yesterday. It’s helpful to shift to a more philosophical, broader perspective if you can, as it allows yourself more space to recover if required.

Advice/Overview –  The Star Reversed: Optimism is not unwarranted, but overconfidence is. Be just as wary of only seeing what you want to see as you are of declaring defeat before you get underway. Balance is the name of the game here. There will be ups and downs. “Cautiously optimistic” is the stance I’d advise this week.

Affirmation –  Call on your angels. Sometimes it’s frustrating, looking to the Universe to “tell us” what we should be doing. That’s not the way it works. We decide what we want ourselves. That’s our job! Then, once we know, we can call upon the Universe for help getting there. If you do want divine assistance, you have to ask explicitly for it. Short of extreme circumstances, you cannot expect intervention otherwise.

Are you seeing these kinds of questions arise in your week?

What Can You Feel Good About? Weekly Flow Tarot Forecast, Jan 26–Feb 2

Weekly Tarot Forecast

“Do what you can feel good about.” I’ve given this advice many times, both to others and to myself in the mirror when faced with a hurtful situation. Family issues, rejections, and betrayals can sometimes leave us simultaneously wanting to make up and strike back. So in trying to decide what’s appropriate, a yardstick that doesn’t try to measure anyone else’s behavior is incredibly helpful.

This week? It’s like that. Do what you can feel good about and what you’ve committed to do.

Most of this coming week looks pretty good! While I’m not crazy about the weekend which the cards suggest may lean toward the raw side, I believe we can use the energy of the rest of the week to carry us through. It looks to be a fast-pasted week with emotional notes, starting off with the Knight of Cups, and including the Chariot and a very busy Five of Wands. The orange topic cards are people, so both yourself, others and your relationship(s) play a major role as well. In other words, this week doesn’t appear in a vacuum, folks. I expect both conflict and comforts to come from your inner circle. So be aware.

Also remember, we’re still in Mercury retrograde. So there may be a little déjà vu of old news showing up to spice up your week. Be graceful and gracious, and always double check your facts before taking action here, and you should be fine.

Monday, Future Life – Prince of Cups: This card promises an upcoming emotional connection, or a deepening of an existing emotional connection. Knights’ energy is not static; it moves! In short, your feelings take you new places. Sometimes it’s pleasant and sometimes it’s not, but it’s definitely moving. So what do you think of that?

Tuesday, Mind – Two of Wands: A decision to be made. If you wonder, “Am I up to this? Can I hold my own here?” The Two of Wands answer is “Yes,” although you may not be as certain as I am.

Wednesday, You – Ten of Pentacles: You’re surrounded by a loving family (be they biological or chosen) and the richness of being a part of that community. Revel in being a part of such a group.

Thursday, Others – The Chariot: Ah, people around you are going places! Be a follower or be a leader, but whatever you do, don’t stand still. You’ll get left behind.

Friday, Relationship – The Moon: This could go either way. There could be mystery and magic afoot, or it could turn out-and-out crazy on a dime. I would advise scrupulous honesty in all relationships. The Moon can show up for lies, and that’s not really the energy you want to invoke here. Don’t push for hard facts. Just allow interactions to take shape and don’t discount the power of emotions in creating reality.

Saturday, Hopes and Fears – Five of Wands: Either there is worry a conflict will never end, or an itching to kick some ass. Keep the temper in check.

Sunday, What You Can’t Change – Ten of Swords: Whoever has hurt you, it’s done. Whoever has not been true, it’s done. Facing up to the full impact is not fun by any stretch, but it’s the hardest part of betrayals. Once that’s over, the healing can really get underway.

Overview/Advice – Four of Wands: Regardless of what others do, honor your commitments and do what YOU feel good about. Your goodwill may waver based on others’ behavior, but your integrity should not. Stand by your word.

Affirmation: The Universe is Big Enough to fulfill my every intent. I am thinking of this in terms of expectation versus reality. I may EXPECT to get my desires in a straightforward, linear fashion because I’ve been “good” and tried my best to do my work. I may get disgruntled if I start at point A and life throws me a tsunami and I realize I’m so far away from my pre-identified point B that I can not longer find it in my radar.

But our vision is so very limited and sometimes, what we end up with is much different that what we envisioned. Doesn’t mean we’re not moving ahead or growing. It only means it’s not in the way we might have plotted it. We need both a deliberate intent for who we want to be, and the flexibility to ride the flow and discover new alternatives. At times, that ugly package is the Universe’s biggest gift and we just didn’t know. Wherever you are, make the best of it and know that if you surrender to the flow, you’ll get much further than if you fight it. Don’t ask “how” you’ll get there so much as focusing on the what you want your life to be about. That vision, attention to where you are going, is what gets you there. Fixation on the rocks brings pain. Fixation on the destination keeps you tracking ever towards it.

Hope you have a wonderful week and manage to sidestep the rocks. And if in doubt, remember, do what you feel good about! Everything else (eventually) falls into place. Much love.

How’s your week looking?

Life’s White Spaces: Weekly Flow Tarot, Dec. 22 – 28

Tarot Dec 22 -28

Happy Solstice/New Moon! There is unquestionably some magic on tap, but it’s a Capricorn new moon. So you have to turn on the faucet yourself.

This looks to be a very transitional week. I’m reminded of cleaning out a closet to make way for new clothing, or clearing out a room so someone can move in. Looking at next week as a whole, it strikes me as a mix of emotion and action. But the twist is that most of the “action” potential is rooted in inaction. Big happenings are settling into life’s white spaces—what’s not is as important (or more so) than what is. It’s what you are not doing, not saying, not forcing, that opens up the room to allow. Even saying that is making me feel all existentialist or something. But let’s hit the highlights, day by day.

Monday, Question – The Hanged Man: The question here is one of inaction. Maybe not what you should do, so much as what you should leave alone. For any situations where you are feeling unsure, faith and allowing situations to play out is the recommended strategy.

Tuesday, What to Take from the Past – Page of Cups: Strong, loving heart energy is what you want to access today. Jaded and loving don’t mix. Look a for a pure, uncomplicated, and heart-centered approach. No finesse or relationship management required or desired. I won’t say it’s necessarily easy. It requires a sometimes staunch faith to execute. Some might call this naïve or simplistic. I call it potent, very potent energy.

Wednesday, Hobbies and Talents – Four of Cups: Pastimes and activities you enjoy are a form of meditation. They definitely allow a different perspective. These kinds of activities today may alert you to what you’re missing as much as what you have. You don’t have to seek these answers, by the way. The act of losing yourself in personal expression creates space in your head and your heart, not filled up with daily bustle. It provides a contrast so the points can be more readily perceived.

Thursday, What to Avoid – Four of Wands reversed: Merry Christmas! Advice? Be extra respective of other’s partners and family, even if you don’t feel all that enthused. Not the day to suggest a divorce to anybody! Now maybe this is common sense on a day people often spend with family or maybe not, but the reversed Four of Wands suggests not to disrupt any apple carts. What you don’t say counts! It’s also an important day to honor commitments.

Friday, Co-Workers – High Priestess: The High Priestess is another one of those between-the-lines energies. In the position of co-workers, it would suggest an unspoken understanding related to people you are partnering with. This could be work of course, project related. But it doesn’t have to be. It can speak to any flavor of joint project. Partners may know more than you think they do. Listen for what’s not said. If you are in doubt regarding your own behavior with co-workers, wait, hold back or remain silent. This is another example of the white spaces.

Saturday, Pros – Strength reversed: It’s interesting to find Strength reversed in the “Pros” position. I’m going to say having limits as to time, energy and resources is actually helpful today. It allows you to be human, and encourages you to grant yourself permission to let go of some things in order to direct your resources into others. Your strength shows up via energy freed by what you are not doing. White spaces.

Sunday, Resolution – Nine of Wands reversed: Problems are resolved via not being the last holdout! Stubbornness is not helpful today. Yesterday, we looked at how much was too much. Today, let the “too much” part go. That’s the resolution.

Advice/Overview – Chariot Reversed: Avoid singled-minded focus (read: myopic). The Chariot is indirect anyway. Reversed, it’s so indirect as to be confusing.

AffirmationClaim Your Boundaries: I spoke to someone recently about their circle, and how it’s shrinking. I had a rather vivid image, of a circle around the person, getting smaller and smaller. I don’t think of this as inherently bad. It’s like extract, the essence being accessed. The energy is not so watered down. Reducing a sauce by cooking it down, you know? You allow the heat and time to do it’s work. That’s what this coming week is about. New moons are for starting new projects, new energy patterns, but an inherent component of a new energy pattern is continuing, day by day, to release existing patterns. You have to have white space before it can be filled. Boundaries management is always a vital skill. But for this week, you’re not trying to direct the entire orchestra of everyone in your life. You’re not off to save the world or find the “magic right words” to teach kindness to someone on the internet. You are only regulating yourself. People get confused, thinking boundaries are about regulating the behavior others. They are not…otherwise, setting boundaries would be an impossible proposition. We cannot control anybody else. But boundaries never regulate others. Boundaires specify what you allow into YOUR experience. That is much, much simpler.

Are you noting some “white spaces” in your life?
