10/24/12: 2nd Wedding? Zombie Rerun! | 3 of Cups

three-cups-zombie-tarotOH MY GOD! Did I not tell you the Zombie Tarot is a fan of the repeats? I pulled this fresh.

(Fresh Zombies. Snort.)

And after I pulled this and another (REPEAT) for tomorrow, I thought, “Gee, I’d better do some more shuffling!” I mean, yes, I had already shuffled some before pulling cards. I always do. But I’d better do some more.

And that’s when it hit me—Zombies love to shuffle! HAHAHA!

A cheeky deck…

But anywho…we’ve got the Three of Cups. And I’m reminded of something that came up in one (or 3) of those Chakra 1-Card Reading video series I did recently: the connection between love and money.

If you’re into astrology, you know we’re talking two expressions of Venus. If we’re putting it in Charka terms, it’s the heart. But whatever terms we’re talking, if the passion in your life is blocked, shut down, shriveled up or otherwise impaired, if you’re heart’s not full-on open, you won’t be able to draw what you want, be it love or money.

Whatever you do in this realm, it doesn’t matter so much the consensus of your mother or your brother or your best friend’s dog,  any of whom may think very little of you’re tying the knot with what they see as simply one of the undead. If it’s your sweetheart (and you’re hers), nothing else matters Love makes the rest flow. If it’s not, no amount of wishing is going to turn that Zombie into a princess. She has to already be YOUR princess going on.

Are you feeling the passion?

03/28/12: The Heart of Defeat | 5 Swords

“Defeat may serve as well as victory to shake the soul and let the glory out.” Edwin Markham

Again with the Chakra cards. I almost never get these, and now it’s two in a row.

Today, Tarot hands us the Heart Charka, and Five of Swords (Venus in Aquarius), aka Conflict and Defeat.  (And I now realize I’ve written about “Conflict and Defeat” before as the Five of Wands. The border colors on this deck never cease to confuse me. Agrh!)

Defeat is a feeling state that is born from emotion. It truly is an affliction of the heart. When a sense of defeat looms, it’s a crossroads, a moment of choice. You may be bruised and bloody, and maybe the bright side eludes you. You may retreat to nurse your wounds and gather your wherewithal, but you are not defeated until you have given up. It’s a feeling state.

That doesn’t mean you’ll always get your way. Far from it! But it may mean redefining your objectives. LETTING GO. Reprioritizing. Letting your internal GPS re-route, man.

Both conflict and glory do shake the soul. Especially hard times (and especially easy ones) give opportunity to define who we are.  Both are telling. Look to the heart—as long as the Heart remains open, loving and compassionate—well, you may lose a conflict, but you cannot be defeated.

What do you notice about defeat?

Softening the Sharp Edges with Rose Quartz Love Vibes!

rose-quartz-gemstone-metaphyscial-propertiesRose Quartz is a form of Quartz crystal with a pinkish hue, sometimes very softly colored or sometimes, a deeper pink, and it’s a staple of any gemstone collection. The stone is usually translucent, some even transparent. I have always preferred the softer pink colors, so those are the ones I can speak to from personal experience.

Rose Quartz is known as the stone of love, associated with the Heart Chakra. It has a very soothing and gentle energy. I’m most likely to grab for  Rose Quartz when I’m sad, mad, lonely or feeling unloved somehow.

Going through a very difficult period with a family member once (read: constantly pissed), I used this stone a LOT. I especially liked the rough-cut then, turning it over and over in my hand until the difficult feelings passed. The sharper edges suited my mood while the stone’s energy had a chance to sink in. I  churned that stone so much, I was actually surprised it didn’t wear smooth! I still reach for it when I want to soften a sharp mood.

I also have a lamp on my Tarot desk. I turn it on for readings, and will sometimes lay my hands on it for a minute when I need a quick “love charge” or I’m sending some love energy out into the energy sea for any reason.

Before my daughter moved off, I gave her a little Rose Quartz heart I’d held, focusing on channeling my love and support for her into the stone. I wanted her to have something from me to call on even when I was far away, and to help with missing mom. I knew I was going to be missing her!

Rose Quartz is a good choice for dealing with breakups, melancholy, or missing someone as well as anger. It’s also great for agitation and emotional turmoil of any kind. Basically, any disturbance of the heart (including physical heart issues) is a good candidate for some Rose Quartz energy. It’s healing though love.

How do you like your Rose Quartz?
