King of Pentacles Reversed: Help that is Helpful

“Believing in someone is a much greater gift than protecting them. ” I was handing out this (unsolicited) advice to a friend recently, and I felt the punch of it even as I said the words.

I had to laugh later when I realized: this is advice I could well stand to heed myself. That’s why I felt the extra punch.

Parenting helped me some in this regard, but it sure didn’t eradicate the drive to fix or rescue. No matter whose knot it is, I want to untangle it. The urge is compelling, not subtle. And the urge says a lot more about me than the specific person or predicament I’m looking at.

[bctt tweet=”What you feel is about your interpretation, not what you are seeing.” via=”no”]

Of course, there is nothing wrong with being part of another’s solution. That’s a very humbling and rewarding role. I get the honor of this often when I read Tarot. But that doesn’t mean I’m the ultimate origin of the solution. Anything but!

It may seem like a subtle distinction, but in reality, it’s huge: if I’m solid, tuned in and steady, I remain receptive to the ongoing flow of intuitive inspiration. So in those interactions, I can easily find the just right words to deliver at just the right time. I know exactly what to do and exactly when to do it.

My faith in what I know about the Universe and the power I know everyone has can help override their worries. I’m not infected by their distress. It’s not that I don’t care. It’s really the opposite: I see them in their power and I know in a very strong way, they are equipped to create their own lives, whether or not they’re plugged into that fact.

Really, feelings of love, caring and faith are my cues I’m actually being helpful. When I feel scared or upset for someone–and see myself somehow as the path to their salvation or worry that I don’t know how to save them–that’s evidence I’m currently off-center and have little to offer beyond amplifying what they are already feeling.

Thanks, Tarot, for another timely reminder in the form of next week’s forecast.

Next Week in Tarot

This week, our forecast shows up in the guise of the King of Pentacles reversed with advice from the Eight of Wands reversed (Mini Radiant Rider-Waite in a Tin). While these aren’t particularly harsh Tarot cards, seeing them both reversed adds an element of tension.

For a little more clarification,  I grabbed my Botanical Inspirations deck and we got Amaryllis: Determination and Creative Achievement. It’s speaking to the outcome of following this advice.

I suspect we’ll generally have what we need to manage this coming week, but may not feel very sure of that fact. We may reach out to others, especially for practical or physical assistance. There’s also a potential for over-extending personal resources in an effort to rescue or otherwise provide for others you may not see as capable of taking care of themselves.

So questioning either your own ability to manage or someone else’s may be part of the mix. In either case, you want to make sure any action taken is done so from the right place. If you find yourself saying something like, “If I don’t do this, who will?” that’s your cue, you’re buying into a mirage. Same goes for thinking, “There’s no way I can manage this.” Both are illusion.

The advice here is to the point: don’t see anything as “an iffy situation.” It’s not. See it as workable. See any problem or crisis as serving a purpose, a turning point or improvement opportunity.  See whatever situations that crop up as necessary, even helpful to strengthing and clarifying the greater picture. See it all as a means of leveling up.

“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” –Maya Angelou

True creativity is inspired. That’s why you cannot use it up. Your job isn’t to produce it from thin air, either for yourself or someone else. Your job is to tune in and allow the flow. This also sets the stage for other people hooking up to it as your connection helps influence them at the same time.

I’m not suggesting you shouldn’t provide support. Done right, that’s a beautiful experience for all involved! But when you do it from a position of strength in compensation for another’s weakness, it’s only reinforcing the status quo and lack of stability. If it doesn’t feel good, it’s not really helping.

I AM saying to only offer your own energy up from a steady and grounded space. If you want to provide meaningful support, do so only when you’re feeling strong love, appreciation, and respect for the strength and abilities of the other person you wish to assist. In such cases, you are tuned in and whatever you give will have a much more meaningful and longer-lasting impact. And isn’t that why we do it?

How comfortable are you with providing support? Have you noticed it working this way for you?

If you’d like a little support coming from a space of faith in your abilities to master your life, give me a holler for a personal session. ~Dix

King of Pentacles & 5 of Wands Rx: Full Table

There’s still an edge in the (energetic) weather out there. I assume you’ve noticed? Many people are wrought up and many are angry or scared.

I mean, that doesn’t mean you have to be upset yourself. It’s certainly okay if you are. I’m not going to judge you! But whenever you can find ways to soften it up, feel a little better, it’s good to do that. It’s a kindness to yourself and it can encourage others within your sphere of influence. So it’s public service as well. Har!

The world is changing and disruption is always part of evolution.  It doesn’t mean it’s necessary to be stuck in it.

You know what really helped me? I gave myself permission not to feel like I’m on the hook for deciding how best to solve every problem.

It sounds kind of ridiculous when I put it that way. But we do that, to ourselves. We feel like we must generate an informed opinion on the rightness and wrongness of what everyone in the world does. We think we have to be for or against every idea about how to live or rule our world. We feel like we must be personally responsible for making sure everyone’s needs are met and the world is running smoothly. So often, we feel like we must understand everything and most of all, DO SOMETHING.

I gave myself permission to pick and choose, how I want to focus my own energy. It’s enough to wish well out unto the world without holding myself individually responsible for the entire execution.  I can send out my good wishes, kind thoughts, magic mojo and prayers out there for the betterment of all. And best of all, I don’t have to figure out how those intentions come about. I have faith I’ll get to be part of it, in all the ways I’m inspired to participate. But even from the start, I am participating by holding and amplifying the good vibes. I love that job.

Next Week in Tarot

This week, the outlook card is the King of Pentacles, with advice coming in as the Five of Wands reversed from the colorful Star Tarot.

I want to tell you there is enough, of everything–enough food, enough time, enough love, enough money. The King of Pentacles always has enough and then some. But even more than that? There is enough room for all of us. You don’t need to fight. I mean, you can. I’m certainly not going to try and stop anybody, or I’d be fighting, too. But it’s not necessary.

I’m hearing The Who in my head.

“I don’t need to fight, to prove I’m right. I don’t need to be forgiven…”

You know what? You don’t. None of us do.  Of course, if we claim that freedom for ourselves, we have to extend it to others. That’s only fair, right?

This week–appreciate all the food on your table, literally and metaphorically. Expect to have what you need. Expect others to find what they need. Exercise your faith. Circumnavigate as much of the conflict as you can. Use your own conscious focus to  It will make for a much more comfortable (and satisfying) week.

Be well, friends.

King of Pentacles: Finding Your Flow

Sometimes, I wish I were better at taking my own damn advice.

Recently, taking the advice I’m about to hand out here would have come in very handy. Too bad I didn’t manage it.

But every day is new, right?

The King of Pentacles (Cosmic Tarot) is a happy dude. He enjoys what he’s got and he enjoys sharing it.  You can expect to eat well if you hang about his house. He’s on deck this week, but the caveat is that he can do his work in your life much easier if you loosen up a bit about fears on getting what is needed first. Being okay with now while expecting more is what’s going to click everything into place.

The Trumpet Gentian (Botanical Inspirations) suggests being at peace with your now. That’s very good advice, and if it’s not coming smooth, you don’t have to attack it head-on. In fact, it’s easier not to go head on, if you’re feeling some struggle. Just look to set it aside a little and assign it to the Universe to sort.

So, we’ve got the reassurance, needs will be met. The King is clear about that. Follow that up the faith that comes from lining up your energy with what you want, and the trek will be SO MUCH smoother.

It’s not the faulty circumstances you want to force into a better place here. It’s your flow–the ease with which your life operates.  You want to be going with the current rather than against it, and that’s not action work. It’s energy work, which sets in motion the circumstances and events necessary to progress. You can progress by fighting your way through it, but man. It’s hard work.

Never, ever, ever skip lining up the energy. Especially if it’s something you care a lot about. It just takes a few minutes but it can save you countless hours of struggle.

Hang in there and be well, folks! Much love.

Purposeful Destruction: Tarot Forecast, Week of 4/10 – 4/16, 2017

I was contemplating, just how much we spend our lives reinventing ourselves. You know? In so many ways, on a day-by-day basis.

We’re children. We’re grade-schoolers. We’re college students or girlfriends or bus drivers or parents or woo-woo folks or, or, or… We’re either victim or victor courtesy of the definition we give our stories.

[bctt tweet=”Our stories help us evolve. Choose wisely.” username=”goddess_dix”]

But some stories no longer work. They were appropriate in their time, but conditions change–the most often, us. We evolve, grow, and that’s a wonderful thing. The awkward and uncomfortable bits can get messy.

It’s easier when you realize what’s going on. This week? It felt like that, to me. Our stories are shifting around. The outside world is not grounded, and there is a definite clearing of the decks.

Full Moon in Libra (4/10). The lights are coming up.

Your job is to reinvent yourself.

Hey! So this last week has been kinda nuts, huh? What are you gonna do?!

I will do my best, though, to see what I can get for you for some Tarot guidance for the week ahead.

Hey, this is Dixie from A Fool’s Journey dot com. I am here with some weekly Tarot for you, for the week of April, what is it? 4th through 10? [No, Dixie, it’s not.] 2017. I hid my cheat sheet.

I have, this week, the Osho Zen deck. Now I prefer to read these guys without reversals because it’s a nontraditional deck and it can get a little sloppy if you start bringing too many things into it. But we’ll take a look anyway.

[1] Ten of Wands, Moon, Hierophant [Advice/Ten of Swords] [2] Death, King of Pentacles [3] Ace of Swords

Ho, ho, ho. Okay. The first thing that I want to say is, we start the week with a sense of being overwhelmed! Like carrying a weight of the world on our shoulders. It’s important that you, you let go a little bit. You wanna realize that being very upset or very worked up about things you have no absolutely no control over is probably not your best plan. But what are you gonna do?

Moving into it, as, as the week progresses, there is a shift of the energy. I do feel like it gets a little bit lighter. But not fluffy. Okay? Absolutely not fluffy. We’ve got Death! But we also have Abundance, which is the King of Pentacles.

Okay, so. Understand that what’s going on, that all of the things that are happening right now are a function of stuff getting rooted out or changed in the world. That Death is associated with Scorpio, Pluto energy, so we’re talking about death and rebirth! Transformation. What’s rotting and icky and old getting rooted out. So, is it a good thing? Well, it’s a necessary thing for life to continue. Does it feel good? Not usually. But what are you gonna do?

Now the outcome of this, um, for the outcome, we have Consciousness. Hmmmmmm.

So the point of all of this is there is a new awareness or a new ability to deal with things that comes through the course of this. Now since this a forecast for the collective, I’m expecting to see this, kind of on a large scale, but also on kind of a more micro scale. So macro, micro. So, whatever feels like it’s just being torn up and uprooted and messed around, something fierce in your life, understand that there’s a reason for it. And you’ll come with a new awareness, and ability, once it’s done.

Okay? Let’s do a take-home message, or a, a advice/overview. Okay.

For that, I’ve got rebirth. Which is, I believe the ten of swords [it is]. No, wait a minute. Yeah, that’s the ten of wands. Eh. Anyway, rebirth.

So, it’s a good time to reinvent yourself.

Now if you follow astrology, you know that several planets are either retrograde or going retrograde. We’ve got Mercury retrograde, starting the 9th, I believe it is? So, there’s going to be a lot of review and looking back and then adjusting and fitting it into current circumstance. Understand that’s kind of a part of what’s going on. Doesn’t mean there’s something wrong.

So this week feels a little heavy to me, but in the big picture, in the bigger, broader view, it’s, I think it’s gonna be a good thing. Although I’m an eternal optimist, so what are you gonna do?

So that’s my forecast for the week. I hope it’s helpful to you. Yay! And if it’s not, maybe next time or maybe somebody else suits you. I don’t know.

Take care. Peace out from the Zen Goddess.

The Only Responsibility: Tarot Forecast, Nov 14 – 20, 2016

“I don’t know what’s going on in anyone else’s head. I assume most people mean well and are doing the best they know how under the circumstances as they perceive them–this is almost universally true. I don’t need to figure out the specifics. I just do my best to be happy and kind and live well…and leave other people’s lives to other people. Much less complicated.”

I was talking to a friend, quite upset by another’s behavior. The complaints were beyond understandable and certainly had merit. Many would have passionately agreed with them. I understood completely.

I didn’t agree. I didn’t disagree either. Because it was not my place.  I didn’t feel the need to be outraged or conciliatory. That is not my role, in the conversation or in life. I am not the declarer of what is good and bad in the world, for the world. I am the declarer of what I want for me.

That’s my intention. I’m looking to focus my energy on living MY OWN life the best I can. I have core values that I look to embody at all times and in all situations.  Whether it’s easy or especially when it’s not so easy. Personal integrity, being true to who I am and holding fast to values I find meaningful–this is my only goal. I think of this approach to life as a personal practice. I’m far from perfect in execution, mind you! But I am committed to the practice. It’s made a tremendously positive difference. It gives you a sort of protected space within your own heart.

That groove–being true to who I want to be, while allowing others to do what they will–well, I see this as true freedom. When personal peace is not conditional and when compassion is not conditional and when love is truly not conditional–literally nothing can disrupt the resulting zen.

Of course I don’t like everything I see. Who does? But whatever I see, I do look to apply a framework of love, compassion and peace through which to view it. Sometimes it’s harder and sometimes it’s easier, but it gets easier the more you do it. And I don’t think of it as abdicating responsibility, either. It’s more taking ultimate responsibility for the one and only thing that I truly am responsible for: me!

Live the life you wish to advocate. Those who are vibrationally close to that will be encouraged and empowered by your example. Others will go their own way. This is really the only way change happens anyway. It’s an intimately personal, individual, one-soul-at-a-time affair.

[bctt tweet=”Arguments don’t inspire change. Examples do. #OnMyRadar” via=”no”]

You can always, always, always have your peace. The trick is, you have to make your own and bring it with you.

Tarot Forecast Nov 14, 2016

Man, the energy in the wild is crazy right now, huh? Fortunately, “fixing” this is not my task. Thank the Gods!  (I’d also say it’s not your task, but that decision is yours to make, not mine.) We’re using the Zodiac Tarot, which is an interesting deck as it’s based solely off the astrological connection.  Some cards will have traditional meanings and others, not as much. But it’s a fun deck and man, do I love that Sun card. So how about a little sunshine to start the week?

Monday, The Sun:  Find joy in the little things (or big). Be silly, be happy, have fun, and appreciate, appreciate, appreciate! It will make for an awesome day.

Tuesday, King of Pentacles: Take care of business. Don’t be afraid to entertain or otherwise offer concrete assistance to those you care for. Not meddling, mind you, but be ready to show up. Stay focused and take action you’re inspired to take and the day should go well.

Wednesday, Seven of Cups rx: Possibility for delusion and confusion. Sort of like a drunken feeling on some level. So be aware. If info doesn’t make sense to you, realize it might not be right. And this may take a bit to come out. Confusion is running amuck! Take it slow and easy and double check facts, okay? No drinking without a designated driver. Watch your back.

Thursday, Six of Cups: Feels like hesitation around issues of trust. Which is fine. Just wait until you’re feeling less conflicted. Take it slow and easy and all will be well.

Friday, The Chariot: And this is an “all will be well” card. If you waited until you comfortable yesterday, today things are move. It may not seem direct, but it is moving and you ARE getting where you want to go. Be confident and enjoy the ride.

Saturday, Justice rx: Maybe imbalances, sense of unfairness or whatever. But it’s coming together. Don’t get too wound up about it. Just take your time and let it work out on it’s own schedule.

Sunday, Nine of Pentacles: Beautiful rendition of this card. Look to what makes your heart sing. Simple things like nature would work great. Good day to enjoy the particulars of natural beauty, walk along the beach if you can, enjoy a leaf or sunset or arrange colors in pleasing combinations. Basically look for beauty and harmony everywhere and appreciate it to have an awesome day!

Overview/Advice, Two of Pentacles: You can manage whatever you have to manage. Understand the sense of burden may be due to stuff you’ve signed up for sketchy reasons: nobody else is doing it, I want people to think well of me, etc. Only volunteer for stuff you want to do, you’d enjoy doing or find benefit from doing. Forget the secondary reasons we sometimes sign up. Anything less than those solid reasons, you’ll be less than pleased.

Affirmation: My attention to it invites the essence of it. What you’re thinking of and focusing on is what you’re broadcasting. Other things, which may seem unrelated, are still of the same vibrational essence. You can tell by how you feel. If you’re thinking on a subject and you feel good, you’re attracting something you’ll like. If you don’t, you’re attracting something you won’t. So change your thoughts or change the subject, but be mindful of your attention and prioritize feeling good.

Are you finding your peace?

Glorious Singularity: Tarot, Oct 24 – 30, 2016

The last several weeks, I’m seeing a theme in the forecasts–or maybe? The theme is in my head, my experience. But either way, it’s a valid theme.

[bctt tweet=”Focus on your own life and let others live theirs. #OnMyRadar ” username=”goddess_dix”]

Even if you think the others are crazy or stupid or deluded or clueless or careless or just out-and-out wrong. Be YOU, regardless of what others are being or doing.

I’m beginning to think, this message is why I’m here. My intention for this incarnation, is to spread the message of following your own path without judging or pushing against anybody else’s path.

Why else would I be so gloriously and singularly weird, spending so much of my time hoping to inspire others to be true to their own glorious singularity?

Sometimes we think the world would be better if everybody agreed with us. But that’s not true. The diversity–including the bits we don’t like–make for a much richer experience. Even the ugliness inspires desire for better. Everything inspires desire for better.

Our job is not to get others to conform. Our job is not to conform. Our job is to be true to ourselves, singularly. And that is more than enough. It’s glorious.

Weekly Tarot Reading

Audio Version of the Weeks Forecast

The Zombie Tarot deck loves repeats. Zombies like to shuffle. Get it?

Funny but true.

Lots of Court Cards this week, which tells us personalities will play a big role in events. A fair number of reversals–some of the expressions of personality that have impact will not be conscious behavior. There is still a lot of delusion, lies, and harsh words out there but it’s not too hard to dodge. Just pay attention to yourself and you bypass 98% of the BS and feel better in the process. Also understand, we definitely are ending the week on a high note. So traveling on the high road pays off!

Monday, Queen of Swords Rx: Be aware of your words. Don’t be in a hurry to cut someone off–in traffic, in words, in deeds, from your life, whatever. Take your time. The Queen of Swords cuts ties swiftly in general. Reversed, she can be a bit hasty. So if you’re getting the urge. set it aside for a minute. Put it on the back burner and wait, okay?

Tuesday, Seven of Pentacles Rx: This energy feels impatient, just like yesterday. All things are developing over time as appropriate. Just chill. Just because you cannot see all the progress doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Take a chill pill and all will be well.

Wednesday, Seven of Cups: The world should go home. It’s drunk. Confused. There’s an irrationality going around. Don’t buy into it–or fight against it, which is a lesser-known way of buying into it. And don’t go drink without a designated driver. Don’t try to fight the distortion. Let it roll over you and pass on by. This really works best. You cannot fight waves, but you can be solid and let them wash over you or you can float atop them. Those that bend will not break.

Thursday, Death: Yesterday’s distortion and upheaval from earlier this week (and before) will come to a culmination. Rotten, the not right, will be exposed. The jig is up! I don’t know what jig we’re talking. But it’s up anywho! On an individual level–stick to what you know and don’t try to control others. Just let it be.

Friday, Knight of Pentacles: Attend to the details and be meticulous. Focus on you, let your neighbors do whatever they are doing. Care for your OWN details and leave the rest.

Saturday, Knight of Swords Rx: Don’t blurt angry words, even if you have to stuff your mouth with Fritos to avoid it. Be kind with your words! The world needs kindness, you need kindness, and it just feels better for everybody.

Sunday, Six of Wands: Love wins. Kindness wins. Joy wins. All the love you’ve planted earlier this week blooms like a beautiful garden. This is an awesome day so enjoy it!

Overview/Advice, King of Pentacles Rx: Don’t try to clean up your neighbors yard or fix anybody else’s issues. Focus this week, eyes on your on paper, clean up your own room, tidy up your own life. Looking for other people’s problems is a fancy way of avoiding your own life. Stay in your own lane, keep your own house in order and let other people handle theirs. You have enough resources for yourself. Use them for yourself.

Affirmation: I am safe in the Universe. All life loves and supports me. It really IS all right. Some of what people are upset and freaking out about? It’s okay. It’s going to be okay. Yes, there are jerks out there but life is okay. All will be fine!

Take care, stay clear, be happy! Are you feeling your glorious singularity?
