Whiff of Drama? Run. Weekly Tarot Flow, Aug. 18 – 24

Tarot Forecast Aug 18 - 24

Noticeable in this weekly forecast is the number of Major Arcana (5 of 8 drawn) and the business with the court (the remaining 3 of 8). Taken together, I’m expecting the flow of the week to be important and very much person–or personality quirk–driven. I’m expecting interpersonal interactions to be heavy-hitting this week, folks. I’m thinking drama in the air, although without a doubt, how much it impacts you IS in your hands.

Monday, What is Hidden – Moon reversed: A reversed moon hints at hidden dysfunction, secret madness or self-delusion. IThe Moon is not an easy-to-grasp energy anyway, let alone in the position of “what’s hidden.” Bluntly put, what’s not being seen today is the “crazy.” If someone doesn’t make sense today, don’t assume it’s you that’s “off.” On the other hand, if nobody seems to be understanding you…well, never mind. Har!

Tuesday, Attitudes and Thoughts –Queen of Pentacles: Attention is firmly upon practical matters and taking care of business. Especially in the position of “attitudes and thoughts,” this queen is very pragmatic. She wants to get the bills paid and the grocery shopping done. People are hungry and dinner must be served! She cannot be bothered with distraction that doesn’t serve any purpose. I’d suggest emulating her to accomplish the most today.

Wednesday, Crossing – King of Cups: While we were all busy getting practical tasks wrapped up yesterday, today the King of Cups shows up to FEEL. He is not so matter-of-fact as our Pentacles court and in fact may well get in the way of our to-do list as his energy is “crossing” us, bearing down. Some emotional or artistic expression should satisfy him well enough that your day isn’t overly disrupted. I recommend singing along to loud music when nobody is listening. Use your mood to pick the song.

Thursday, Surprise – Knight of Wands Reversed: Someone may have an entirely different idea of a joint project than you do. This strikes me as an unexpected admission, a message out of the blue or even a surprise departure from a job or  joint project.

Friday, Hopes and Fears – Chariot: We want to reach the finish line, but are afraid we may not have what it takes. Man, do I know this feeling! Keep focusing, keep making progress, however humble or indirect, and you’ll be able to bring it home. Honest, this is a helpful energy. But it’s watery, emotional energy, ruled by Cancer. You really have to be able to ride the waves to effectively work the Chariot.

Saturday, Friendship – The Star reversed: The first time I tried to type the card name, I wrote “scar” instead of “Star” and it seems to me, a reversed Star in the position of “friendship” could well be an emotional scar. However, even inverted the Star is a hopeful, future-looking card. Give friends space and be gentle with their feelings. We all could use that sometimes.

Sunday, Hobbies and Talents – Judgment: I want to tell you to take some pride in what you do with your free time. You don’t have to quit the day job, man, but stand back and give yourself credit for this energy you manipulate and the outcomes create, just because you want to.

Overview/Advice – The Devil: In a weekly overview, the Devil gives a feeling of inevitability, lacking options. He’s not a welcome sight! However, like most energy associated with the Devil, this lack of option is actually an illusion, a slight-of-hand that requires participants suspend disbelief. Anytime you feel trapped or without choice this week, ask yourself if it’s truly the case, or if the feeling comes from not wanting to give up your “fix,” whatever your fix is. You know what I mean? You can say, “I just cannot lose weight,” but maybe the truth is you cannot lose weight if you don’t change habits you really don’t want to change. You can say, “I don’t have enough money, “ but maybe you would have enough money if you budgeted differently. That’s fine, it’s still up to you, but it’s not the same thing. The idea here is to differentiate between options that are honestly inaccessible versus options that are incompatible with emotional attachments. You dig?

Affirmation: I am beautiful and everybody loves me. This one just makes me laugh! I do believe I’m beautiful but I know for a fact not everybody loves me! Maybe I can take it seriously if I change it to, “I’m beautiful and everybody who counts loves me.” Not discounting the people who don’t, except you know what? Kind of am, because I don’t give them a vote!

The challenge with a week like this is keeping your footing, not getting sucked into vicious circles and the link. I am expecting a few twists and turns, but if you stay oriented in the practical, give yourself options for blowing of steam, and emphasize treating your tribe with kindness and respect, you should be not too much the worse for wear by the end of the week. With that affirmation in particular, keeping the ol’ self-esteem intact and remembering that you ARE loved should make things easier when you have a “moment.” Here’s hoping you don’t have many of those.

Good in the Long Run? Weekly Tarot Forecast, 8/11–8/16

I was talking to someone about a recent event, something that upset me a lot.

“It’s no doubt a good thing in the long run,” I said. “It was upsetting but I needed to be more proactive than I was.”

That sums up this week’s forecast pretty well. It’s all about the long run.

Tarot Forecast Week of Aug 11 2014

When 5 of 7 daily draws are reversed, I know it’s going to be a challenging week. And oddly enough, this week ushers a meeting of the Tarot Kings. The only King who didn’t show up at the summit is the King of Swords. Does that mean a level head is going to be in short supply? Eeek!

I do expect plenty of action, though, as the Wands are kind of jumping out here. And we have a special appearance by a card somehow shuffled into the wrong deck, so of course I’m going to interpret that for you. Would you expect anything less? Ha!

Monday, Clarification – The Star Reversed: The situation is less important than how you FEEL about the situation. This looks like disappointment coloring assessment. It’s not the direness of it all that hurts, it’s the loss of hope. But you know, even reversed, this is a positive card. I think at least some of pessimism is unwarranted if not all of it. Maybe the outcome’s not what you wanted, but more importantly, it is what you needed?

Tuesday, Romance – King of Pentacles Reversed: I’d much rather see this King upright for the topic romance but since he isn’t, it’s a day when you may not want to act overtly possessive with your sweetie or partner. Allow space and remain friendly and supportive, keeping it light. I’m just seeing a potential for overwhelm and impatience with neediness. If you are currently sans sweetie, consider this advice in terms of any close relationships. Let it be light and fluffy as much as possible, okay?

Wednesday, Mind – Page of Cups Reversed: Emotions impact how you hear the message. Thinking may be cloudy or wires are likely crossed. Don’t sign anything or make irrevocable declarations until the fog lifts.

Thursday, Heart of the Situation – Nine of Wands: You have to stick it out! That’s the bottom line. Rewards come to those who don’t pack up their toys and go home, even if it appears you have very little support. Don’t give up!

Friday, Career – King of Cups Reversed: Engage the brain-mouth filter in any career interactions to save upset.

Saturday, Conscious Desires – King of Wands Reversed: Inertia is the curse of the King of Wands reversed. In the position of Conscious desires, he says, “I don’t wanna!” Compromise. Work some and play some.

Sunday, Resolution – Ace of Wands: This is a more productive day to work through your to-do list. Or at least, you could finish one, very important item on that list. Take advantage.

Overview/Advice – Four of Pentacles: You may feel scared, but you are also stable. Move through the week slowly and deliberately. You’ll make it!

Affirmation: My future is glorious. If you cannot believe it when you say it, do the one-step up. Maybe try, “My future could be bright.” And work you way from there.

Bonus card (hidden in the Deck of 1000 Spreads) – Seven of Pentacles: Between this and the affirmation, I’m finding some encouragement. Sometimes the day-to-day struggles become the trees for which we miss the forest. You know? This week is all about what needs to be done long term, what’s best in the long run. Sometimes, what’s best in the long run isn’t too exciting in the short run.But that doesn’t change the fact you’ll be glad you did what you needed to do…in the long run.

Wants and Do Not Wants: Weekly Flow Tarot, June 16 – 20

Weekly Flow Tarot, June 16-20

When 4 out of 5 of daily draws agree—let’s be inverted—well,  you can expect a “walking through mud” kind of week. When the suits are a split of Wands, Swords and Majors, you can also expect a sometimes frustrating and potentially raw kind of week. The word that comes to mind looking at this mashup is “thwarted.”

But underlying that theme is also a thread throughout of choices. They are not necessarily always choices you like, mind you. Some you may not consider choices at all, but look to think in terms of choices this week and see how that impacts your experience.

Monday, Problem – King of Wands Rx: “I don’t wanna!” That’s what the reversed King of Wands says. Chances are there’s something on your plate that you’d rather not deal with. In these situations, I often say, “The anticipation is worse than the event.”

Just do what you need to do, do what you’ve committed to doing, and allow yourself a reward when you’re done. Problem solved!

Tuesday, Underlying Influences – Queen of Swords Rx: Don’t say it’s okay when it’s not. Don’t say, “Whatever you want is fine,” when actually only certain options are acceptable. Otherwise you have nobody to blame when others take you at your word. I don’t care what you thought they’d do.

Maybe it takes you aback to realize you haven’t let go of old baggage. Fair enough. But if you’re getting funny feelings today without any idea where they are coming from, look for the hidden attachments .

Wednesday, You – Four of Wands Rx: Exhale already! This strikes me as anxiety, not leaving well enough alone, and fussing to the point of messing up what was already fine. Advice for the day runs along the lines of drop it, let it be, and take a chill pill. Not necessarily in that order.

Thursday, Past – Ten of Swords Rx: It still hurts, but it’s getting better. This can be a day of healing from old wounds, a little bit at a time.

Friday, What to Use in the Future – The Devil: What an interesting pull for future advice! And this is actually my all-time favorite Devil card. However, much as I would LOVE to interpret this draw as an ethereal command for an orgy of self-indulgence, it seems a lot more cogent Tarot is suggesting we be aware of areas where we have difficulty saying “no.” It’s important to remember the choice factor.

Overview – The Lovers: Another choice card, associated with Gemini. Besides speaking to Lovers (duh!), this card talks about harmonious connections and the choices of who or what we align ourselves with. In the context of this week, I’m seeing this as a reminder that our environment is mirroring our internal state. If you don’t like what you’re seeing around you, look at where you are at emotionally, energetically, the impact of the company you keep.

Affirmation: Since every request is granted, I feel no competition. Mmmm, I’m not really feeling the love for this one as-written (although I agree with the premise that there is “enough” to go around.) I’m considering this an exclamation point on the notion, you can and do make your experience by virtue of your perspective. You are competing if you feel you are competing. You are stuck if you feel stuck. You are without options if you feel without options. You tell me you cannot do something, and you know what? I believe you. As long as that’s where a person’s head is, they won’t. But of course, that’s a choice, eh?

Damn. “Personal responsibility” isn’t a very sexy forecast theme for the week. But what I’m seeing is a contrast between what we want versus what we don’t want, what we’re willing to speak up for versus what we hope to be handed over without any effort on our part.

Make solid choices and be patient through Mercury Retrograde annoyances. We’re getting there.

Video Forecast, 3/2: Digging In with Your Heart

Filmed this during Mercury retro. Can you tell? :smirk:

Short version: The “resolution” to your current situation is obtained by a King of Wands approach. Enthusiastic optimism, determination, passion and not giving up or in is how to move forward. In other words, we’re talking digging in with your heart! Got it?

You feeling this?

02/15/14: Not Budging / King of Wands

King of WandsWhat you cannot change? The guy on the throne, man. The King of Wands is large and in charge, and he’s not moving an inch. He’s also passionately attached to his way of looking at the world. You may have liked that spirit and fire, once upon a time. Just remember, he’s the same guy he’s always been, even when you’re not on the same side of the table as he is.

In short, what you cannot change is what is in someone’s heart. Your own heart? A friend or foe’s? Whomever we’re talking, it’s a constant. What lights this person’s fire, what their spirit is about, don’t expect to budge an inch.

Maybe that’s a good thing, maybe it’s sad. But knowing that, probably helpful. I’m not sure how you may use that insight during the day, but if you figure it out, let me know!

01/08/14: Ground Zero for Living / King of Wands

King WandsEvidently, Tarot stutters. Today’s draw is “The Source,” Osho Zen’s version of the King of Wands. It’s nice they are from different decks, anyway. It gives us the opportunity to look at different representations of the same vibe.

What is “the source” for you? Is it the heart, the seat of passions? Is it in the blood? Life itself? The Higher self? Is it Spirit? God? All that is?

I cannot answer the question for you. What I can say is, whatever you consider today, whatever choices you make or words that come out of your mouth or actions you undertake, check with your gut to see if it feels in alignment. Look within your heart and ask yourself, “Does is this consistent with my mission?”

Because you’re either acting in accordance with your highest intentions or you are not. Today, look for those intentions, that sense of “rightness” and importance, the fire of intensity and knowingness, to guide you. If you stay tuned, it’s hard to go wrong. This is your soul, ground zero for living a fulfilled, authentic life.

Do you feel a connection to your source, in whatever form you envision it?
