Fool Reversed, Knight of Pentacles: Who are you, really?

I’ve been doing a little emotional unpacking over here. It’s moving along, but still kind of a slow, messy business.

Although it’s not been a painless process, it’s definitely one I’m immensely grateful for. I’ve become sensitized to the times my responses feel “off.” I’ve had to step back repeatedly and just sit with it in order for it to unfold in a way that feels natural and right to me.

The strongest insights show up in the mornings, immediately upon waking up. So if you’re in a similar situation, let me suggest sleeping on it, over and over!

I also see a strong parallel to this process in the forecast for next week.

Next Week in Tarot

Image from the Radiant Rider-Waite.

As outlook next week, we have the Fool reversed, with advice coming in as the Knight of Pentacles. The overall vibe here is offers only a slight shift from last week.

People talking AT one another instead of WITH one another remains “a thing.” Projections, oversimplifications and flat-out false assumptions remain prominent. A sense of being misunderstood or mischaracterized are likely to materialize on multiple fronts, in both personal and collective spheres.

I know. It doesn’t sound all that nice, does it? But there is an upside.

A very powerful opportunity emerges from this. Being faced so obviously with who you ARE NOT points out in very sharp detail who you ARE. It takes stepping back from the situation to see it for sure, but the insights that flow from such a perspective are invaluable.

Who do you truly want to be? What behavior is consistent with that self-definition? What are you really all about?

The temptation in this environment is going to be working harder and talking louder in the hopes of being “understood.” It’s natural to enjoy the sense of affirmation that comes from feeling truly seen. I’ll be the first to acknowledge it’s great stuff, when it shows up organically. It’s also impossible to force.

But as much as we may feel the urge to pursue being understood, it’s an ultimately irrelevant goal. A sense of personal integrity is never the result of a vote. At best, these efforts are a distraction and at worst, derailment.

Making sure your direction remains consistent with your core values is the course the Knight of Pentacles advises. The heightened awareness offers us a roadmap to remaining true to ourselves.

Forget who else knows who you are. What matters is that YOU know who you are.

You do know who you are, right? Remembering this provides a lot more guidance than you’d imagine.

Hierophant & Knight of Pentacles: Working Out

I had thought I was going to slide under the radar during the recent eclipse cycle. I’d hoped Mercury retrograde wouldn’t notice me. I’d just keep my head down and my mouth shut and I’d slip through it without issue.

Silly me!

Eclipse day, I had a hard drive failure.

Actually, failure isn’t the right word. “Capital-D Die” would be a more accurate description. Since it was not on my main computer, I was still able to function. So that helped.

But the dead hard drive that held about a thousand recipes, pictures and posts I use for my low carb Facebook page. So yes, still kind of a big deal.

There were backups, of course…all on the same hard drive. Because la-la-life-is-wonderful-Dixie somehow hadn’t thought about backing up on a different drive. Even though the computer was old and had shown signs of impending doom, my unfailing optimism was able to just erase the symptoms from my conscious awareness. Neat trick, huh?

Funny thing, though. It took me approximate 3 seconds to realize, this event was decidedly not a catastrophe.

My content had grown stale. But it was THERE, so it was easy enough to just let it ride, you know? I’d considered switching tools, but put it off because of the need to re-do everything. My system was working. I realized it needed some fresh life, but it wasn’t a priority so it didn’t end up getting any love because it wasn’t a fire.

This event forced me to look at the work I’m doing with fresh eyes–and bring fresh energy to it.

I surrendered to the reality almost immediately, because what choice do you have? And in doing so, I saw how the situation was in the big picture, a boon.

I didn’t need to wish away the circumstance. I needed adjust my thinking, which can be done very quickly and easily if you’re open to doing so.

Next week? Do that.

Next Week in Tarot

For outlook this week, we have the Hierophant and the advice is the Messenger of Earth (aka Knight of Pentacles) from the visually evocative deck, The Good Tarot.

Everything will come together as needed–the Hierophant is unfailingly competent. When this spiritual leader shows up, calling upon your faith or actively practicing spirituality to maintain equilibrium is never a bad play.

That knight showing up as advice veritably screamed Mercury Retrograde (the time when communications and electronics tend to go a little haywire). We are still in the midst, in case you were wondering.

So check your facts and then go back and check them again. Stay organized. Be conscientious. Measured, practical, consistent steps yield the best outcome here.

Keep your head about you and don’t freak out no matter what. Make “It’s all working out for me” your mantra, and so it will be.

It’s all working out. Really. Are you feeling it?

Need a little help staying centered? Give me a shout and we’ll talk.

Hierophant & Knight of Pentacles: Fill Your Own Cup First

I’ve felt kind of guilty lately. I have a long list of small commitments that remain unfulfilled. It’s not that I don’t mean to, but sometimes life distracts.

I also want to do the best I can with everything I do. Which means I have to be able to focus on it.

A person has to have their mind, body, and spirit mostly in sync to reach that clear, knowing, in-the-flow zone.  And to get <<==there, you’ve got to fill your own cup first.

So if I want to get more done, I’ve got to quit pushing and fussing at myself for not having it all done. Because even the most minor case of the guilties isn’t filling my cup. You can’t give what you don’t have. So I make a point of giving it to myself, first.

Next Week in the Cards

The week’s outlook is represented by The Hierophant, with advice coming in as the Knight of Pentacles from the (gorgeous) Star Tarot.

Of course we take action. But it’s best taken when you’re in the zone, clear, and focused.

You’ve got to fill your cup first. Relax, distract, get quiet, get centered. Take good care of your physical needs and be kind to yourself. Get your body and your emotions clear. Then you’ll know exactly what to do and when to do it.

Get in te zone and tune in.

Not Done: Queen of Wands Rx, Knight of Pentacles Rx

I used to try, really hard sometimes, to make things happen. Work hard and apply yourself and all things will be possible, right?

Funny thing is, this never got me too far. And I never understood why until recently.

I’m coming to realize, the way I’ve moved forward historically hasn’t even remotely been a result of how strenuously I applied myself or even what blessings I bring innately. It’s not about working hard at all–action can be counterproductive, especially if undertaken in a state of worry or frustration. When I’m trying very hard, it’s a good indication I’m out of sync, right there.

I don’t want hard work. I want RIGHT work. Big difference.

Because the right action, taken at the right time, can only be accomplished by someone tuned in: connected and inspired. Then, you can ride that energy flow and then, everything works out, just so.

Being tuned in requires a light touch. It requires a high vibration: appreciation, love, joy, optimism, or contentment are the sort of things one will feel when they are tuned in. It’s a very peaceful state. And it’s a state you cannot force. You can only invite.

It feels right. I feel good and it just feels right. I feel enthusiasm and lightness about the situation. What’s done then turns out well. And while there is effort expended, that effort doesn’t feel so much feel like work.

Listen to your own rhythm as much as you can. It makes staying tuned in easier. Look for the best, the bright side wherever you can find it. Appreciation helps tremendously and makes tuning in much easier. It makes everything much easier.

I got to see a newborn butterfly the other day. It was sitting still as a sculpture, just above its cocoon. I watched and waited–and watched and waited–and eventually, when he was ready, he moved.

Got that? He took off only when he was damn good and ready.

[bctt tweet=”Be an emerging butterfly: Move when you’re damn good and ready. #OnMyRadar” via=”no”]

In other news (but not really), on my radar for next week: wait! Things are not done so cool your jets. Not super surprising since Mercury doesn’t turn direct until September 5th.

What I’m seeing: What you “know” today may be different than what you see tomorrow. So breathe and let life unfold for you, rather than trying to unfold it yourself. Just take your time and don’t obsess. Situations are not yet ripe for wrapping up. Don’t dig your heels in, obsessing over details and miss the bigger picture. Exhale and give it a minute. The situation isn’t ripe, the cake’s not baked. Send out your request to the Universal information stream and be open to getting the final pieces.

This week’s forecast features the Radiant Rider-Waite (yes, again). If you want a personal consult, you know where to find me.

And breathe! ♥

Clearing Emotional Residue: Tarot Forecast, Dec 19 – 25

When I lost my butterfly bush, I thought I wouldn’t be able to attract birds anymore.

While someone may legitimately ask, “So the %&$# what?” it matters to me.

Birds are wonderful messengers. They are born to the work. Their traversing both earth and the heavens put them in a perfect position to bring us our bits and pieces of truth, and they’ve long been looked to as such, in many belief systems throughout history.

When I’ve been too emotionally wound up, Grackles have come to point it out. Robins show up to remind me, when I’m ready to focus on new growth. Cardinals and Woodpeckers and crows and hummingbirds, even a few owls have all come to visit me, each bearing their own insight and suggestions to offer.

After my former bird haven was no more, the husband suggested we attract some birds to the upstairs window, outside our office. I had never considered we’d be able to do that, But we decided we’d like that a lot, so we set about being open to inspiration about doing it.

And now? We’ve got a glorious parade of bird visitors all day, every day, just about 3 or 4 feet from where I sit and write these words. They eat and sing and look in the window and watch us, as we look out the window and watch them.

And I’m furiously happy about this.

I could have stayed mad, that my fabulous, bird-friendly bush was gone. But that felt awful. Instead, I found a lot more peace and comfort, focusing on what I did want. I wanted more birds. And that’s why I got more birds.

The difference here is exactly where you are choosing to spend your energy. A lot like the week we’ve got coming up.

This week begins in a Mercury retrograde (and it was making itself felt early this go-’round),  so expect blasts from the past along with glitches and delays. Skills that increase your odds for having a good time include flexibility, padding your schedule to allow for hiccups, and soothing yourself emotionally to keep grounded and connected as much as possible. Keeping your emotional tone on track allows you to more easily sidestep aggravations and remain a naturally happy camper.

[bctt tweet=”You clear emotional residue by staying future focused. #OnMyRadar” via=”no”]

Monday, Queen of Pentacles: Welcome, Mercury Retrograde! Anything you can do to smooth the way, do. Add some “comfort room” wiggle into your schedule. During this retro–which I’m expecting to be widely felt as I felt it coming in stronger and earlier than normal–it’s best to give yourself extra breathing room and not so much a good idea to push the envelope or try to slide in at the last minute. Plan ahead, yo. Great day for a good dinner, for yourself and/or others. Take care of yourself, practical matters, finishing your list and getting geared up for the week ahead.

Tuesday, Four of Pentacles rx: Coming across to me as potential for nervousness or anxiety if you’re prone. In terms of the situations in your life, I would expect some snigs and snags but not major issues. A moderate or small amount of conflict. So don’t overreact. Delays, snags, whatever you would expect during Mercury rx. Understand there may be postponements. Keep the anxiety at bay by getting quiet and plugging in before taking action. It might FEEL like a big deal at the time, but I’m not seeing it will play out that way long term. It really IS okay.

Wednesday, Knight of Pentacles rx: Again, I want to say expect snags or hiccups. Being OCD about how things go this week will pretty much drive you insane. So if you tend to be especially fussy or particular, relax your standards here. The Knight of Pentacles reversed often shows a certain obsessiveness and over-attention to details, a rigidity. I see the potential for that and it’s not really where you want to go. So take it as it comes and stay flexible. Another thing that’s really helpful, is realizing, NOT EVERYBODY IS YOU. Just because you see something a certain way, a well-considered conclusion? This doesn’t equate to anyone disagreeing being confused, broken or a bad person. Be open to diversity of all kinds, including thoughts, feelings, priorities and values. Appreciate the beauty in all.

Thursday, Lovers rx: Not a bad card even inverted. In general, most are in a good space and wanting to be happy and get along. With the Mercury Rx irritations, there may be little hiccups in the day’s flow. So stay focused on the bigger picture. Many times you can shift from annoyed to at peace if you broaden perspective.

[bctt tweet=”Choosing between right and happy, always vote HAPPY. #OnMyRadar” via=”no”]

Friday, Five of Cups: Ugh! Not my favorite card. Day feels kind of heavy, morose, sad. Like sitting around thinking of what you’re missing–or who you’re missing–over the holiday. Not out-and-out intense pain, but a general sadness poking at people. To deal with it, make yourself a safe, supportive environment. I’m seeing someone snugging up on the couch with a big blanket and bowl of popcorn to watch a favorite movie. Whether you do something like that or not, ask yourself, “What do I enjoy? What makes me happy?” Do that. Find your happy space and go there!

Saturday, The Hanged Man: First, hold the faith, keep the faith, have the faith, be the faith. In terms of activity, the Hanged Man always tells us to sit, be still and quiet. Which is funny, because his energy is not actually inactive. But his action is internal, energetic. It’s connecting to source first, so whatever action follows later is inspired. Inspired action has real impact. Not busywork, do something to feel better, it’s plugged in, inspired activity. That’s where you get real leverage.

Sunday, Two of Swords Rx. Merry Christmas! In terms of the forecast, this card is saying to me, “Not your choice.” If the question is how someone else lives, what someone else things, who is unhappy, what life choices are being made, who is hopping on what drama train? NOT your choice. Not yours to figure out, untangle, untease, solve or otherwise remedy. Not your problem to solve. NOT your choice. This idea may bother you, but once you take this message to heart, it can be an incredible gift. If you can just love and wish well, without trying to fix, without tossing out your energy toward a whole lot of ends that will never give you joy, you’ll be much better off. Respond to what you want to respond to, and ignore the rest. Get on with your life! So all told, it’s a very empowering stance. Keep this in mind over family visits. Don’t worry about anything, just focus on your own choices and you’ll be much happier.

Overview/Advice, Eight of Cups Rx: Sometimes, the idea of saying “I don’t care about that anymorem” doesn’t automatically mean you’ve left it behind. During the course of the week, especially with Merc Rx, I’m expecting some emotional residue. Lots of reminders of the past, which we also see around the holidays. Think emotional echos. There’s not a lot to specifically do. Understand, it’s there. If you don’t want something to be a big part of your experience, you must focus your attention elsewhere. Mentally rewrite stories. We get so interested in being objective and factual and real, we end up rehashing the same vibration over and over and it turns it up. Change the context, details or perspective to better support you. As you change your story, how you feel changes and as how you feel changes, what you live changes.

Affirmation: Trust. Isn’t that a beautiful message? Trust that you’re okay. Trust that you’re where you need to be and everything is working out for you. Trust that it’s all okay in the bigger picture. People get bothered so much, and so much of the time the issues really aren’t that big of a deal. Life itself is a transitory experience. We’re here for a short time before going back to nonphysical reality. So there is really no way to “get this wrong” since we’re here to create our now and participate in the grand dance of consciousness. That’s worth so much more than who voted for the one you didn’t like or whatever. Plug in to what matters! Being kind, loving, happy? That’s what matters. Most everything else is optional.

Are you keeping that emotional residue to a minimum?

Hope you have a lovely, awesome holiday. Be well!

Glorious Singularity: Tarot, Oct 24 – 30, 2016

The last several weeks, I’m seeing a theme in the forecasts–or maybe? The theme is in my head, my experience. But either way, it’s a valid theme.

[bctt tweet=”Focus on your own life and let others live theirs. #OnMyRadar ” username=”goddess_dix”]

Even if you think the others are crazy or stupid or deluded or clueless or careless or just out-and-out wrong. Be YOU, regardless of what others are being or doing.

I’m beginning to think, this message is why I’m here. My intention for this incarnation, is to spread the message of following your own path without judging or pushing against anybody else’s path.

Why else would I be so gloriously and singularly weird, spending so much of my time hoping to inspire others to be true to their own glorious singularity?

Sometimes we think the world would be better if everybody agreed with us. But that’s not true. The diversity–including the bits we don’t like–make for a much richer experience. Even the ugliness inspires desire for better. Everything inspires desire for better.

Our job is not to get others to conform. Our job is not to conform. Our job is to be true to ourselves, singularly. And that is more than enough. It’s glorious.

The Zombie Tarot deck loves repeats. Zombies like to shuffle. Get it?

Funny but true.

Lots of Court Cards this week, which tells us personalities will play a big role in events. A fair number of reversals–some of the expressions of personality that have impact will not be conscious behavior. There is still a lot of delusion, lies, and harsh words out there but it’s not too hard to dodge. Just pay attention to yourself and you bypass 98% of the BS and feel better in the process. Also understand, we definitely are ending the week on a high note. So traveling on the high road pays off!

Monday, Queen of Swords Rx: Be aware of your words. Don’t be in a hurry to cut someone off–in traffic, in words, in deeds, from your life, whatever. Take your time. The Queen of Swords cuts ties swiftly in general. Reversed, she can be a bit hasty. So if you’re getting the urge. set it aside for a minute. Put it on the back burner and wait, okay?

Tuesday, Seven of Pentacles Rx: This energy feels impatient, just like yesterday. All things are developing over time as appropriate. Just chill. Just because you cannot see all the progress doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Take a chill pill and all will be well.

Wednesday, Seven of Cups: The world should go home. It’s drunk. Confused. There’s an irrationality going around. Don’t buy into it–or fight against it, which is a lesser-known way of buying into it. And don’t go drink without a designated driver. Don’t try to fight the distortion. Let it roll over you and pass on by. This really works best. You cannot fight waves, but you can be solid and let them wash over you or you can float atop them. Those that bend will not break.

Thursday, Death: Yesterday’s distortion and upheaval from earlier this week (and before) will come to a culmination. Rotten, the not right, will be exposed. The jig is up! I don’t know what jig we’re talking. But it’s up anywho! On an individual level–stick to what you know and don’t try to control others. Just let it be.

Friday, Knight of Pentacles: Attend to the details and be meticulous. Focus on you, let your neighbors do whatever they are doing. Care for your OWN details and leave the rest.

Saturday, Knight of Swords Rx: Don’t blurt angry words, even if you have to stuff your mouth with Fritos to avoid it. Be kind with your words! The world needs kindness, you need kindness, and it just feels better for everybody.

Sunday, Six of Wands: Love wins. Kindness wins. Joy wins. All the love you’ve planted earlier this week blooms like a beautiful garden. This is an awesome day so enjoy it!

Overview/Advice, King of Pentacles Rx: Don’t try to clean up your neighbors yard or fix anybody else’s issues. Focus this week, eyes on your on paper, clean up your own room, tidy up your own life. Looking for other people’s problems is a fancy way of avoiding your own life. Stay in your own lane, keep your own house in order and let other people handle theirs. You have enough resources for yourself. Use them for yourself.

Affirmation: I am safe in the Universe. All life loves and supports me. It really IS all right. Some of what people are upset and freaking out about? It’s okay. It’s going to be okay. Yes, there are jerks out there but life is okay. All will be fine!

Take care, stay clear, be happy! Are you feeling your glorious singularity?
