Regrets and Recoveries: Weekly Tarot Forecast, July 6 – 12

happy-mothers-day-tarot-kitty.jpgI recently had to put my very sweet, psychic cat to sleep. I knew it was coming, having plenty of warning. I did the best I could for her, to keep her comfortable and to make her last days happy. She’s always been a chow hound and was on medication that made her hungry, so I fed her whenever she wanted, which was a lot.

But even as I was preparing to take her in to the vets for the  last time–she hid when she heard me get the carrier, but was too sick to hide well–knowing it was the right thing to do (and wanting with every fiber of my being not to do it), I found myself thinking, “What if?”

“What if I’d taken her in sooner? What if I were a better healer? What if I had practiced my Reiki more and worked harder? What if I’d prayed harder, done more magic, held more faith?” I believe in magic and miracles. So why couldn’t I pull some of that off for her? Some people would think that ridiculous, and others would say, of course I shouldn’t blame myself for my cat getting cancer. But feelings don’t always fit into tidy little boxes.

I never knew I’d miss being woken up before the sun rises by a cat hollering at me, demanding to be fed.

Looking at the week as a whole, I’m getting a strong whiff of “what if?” Looks like regret and recovery color the emotional landscape in the coming week.

Monday, Mind, Playfulness/Page of Wands reversed: Is your mind playing tricks on you? Or maybe you’re feeling a little cranky? Would be a good day to lighten up and not take yourself too seriously.

Tuesday, Co-workers – Schizophrenia/Two of Swords: Well, I don’t like the looks of that! I mean, who wants to see the word “schizophrenia” associated with co-workers? Expect indecisiveness or endless weighing of options around the job.

Wednesday, Parnter – Adventure/Page of Pentacles: Your partner(s) = grounding. I used to say sometimes, “Even going to the grocery store can be an adventure with the right attitude.” I’d add to that, anything can be an adventure, with the right attitude–and the right company. Seek the right company.

Thursday, Underlying Influences – Intensity/Knight of Wands reversed: Look at what you feel driven to do today. Look at issues where your reaction is out of proportion to the stimulus. Find yourself speaking with way more emphasis than expected? Or is someone else being more intense that you’d think a situation warranted? That’s like a big, fat neon arrow pointing to what’s really going on.

Friday, What to Know – The Dream/Six of Cups: Know that your vision of what’s ahead could be unrealistic, naive or lacking full insight into the nuances of reality. Potential to dream things up and not allow for reasonable setbacks in planning.

Saturday, What you Can’t Change – Healing/King of Cups reversed: It takes time to get over hurt. The only way out of pain is through it. Allow yourself to feel what you feel and let that energy go. It can and will, once expended.

Sunday, Hobbies and Talents – Participation/Four of Wands reversed: Don’t sulk! Get out there and do what you love (and are good at doing). The day is a lot more rewarding that way.

Overview/Advice, Present, Ice-olation/Three of Swords reversed: Pain subsides over time, and when it’s properly felt. Don’t allow yourself to become isolated and wallow, but do allow yourself to feel whatever it is you feel. This appears to be a healing, a lessening of hurt, but the hurt is still there. Not forever, but for now. Hugs anyone? ♥

Affirmation: Every “reality” has been focused by someone into being. When I or someone I love struggle, one of my perspective hacks is to tell myself, “There is a reason any person is where they are. If someone is struggling, they must have something to learn or grow from it, or they would not be there.” Don’t confuse this with blaming folks for their own headaches, because blaming requires a judgemental stance and I don’t go there. Honestly, I find this type of reframe incredibly comforting, because it gives purpose to the sting. If I’m in a tough spot due my choices, it’s easy enough to slip on this re-frame. If conscious choices don’t seem to factor in, then I put it in context of divine purpose, soul contracts and choices of the higher self. Maybe that doesn’t resonate with you, but I’ll tell you if you can make the leap from “life sucks” to “serves a higher purpose, even if I don’t understand it right now,” the cost of admission is the same but you’ll feel a lot of relief.

I think I’m doing alright, letting go of my regrets to make way for the recovery bit. But if you have a pet, go give them a nuzzle, okay?

Are you dealing with regrets and recovery?

Purge Fest: Weekly Flow Tarot, June 22 – 28

weekly tarot forecaset

What’s not working for you? Because the majority of this week seems to be about purging what isn’t working. You know. Like a cat walking across your weekly Tarot layout.

I’ll be honest. I advise that OTHER PEOPLE purge a lot more than I manage to accomplish myself. Does that make me a hypocrite? It’s so much easier to give advice than take it!

But really? I think it’s time…

It will lighten your load a lot, if you clean out the closets, both literally and metaphorically. If you’re feeling stuck, particularly, letting go of old junk, which holds old energy, will do wonders. If it’s overwhelming, don’t worry. Just do a little bit at a time and you’ll be surprised at how much of a difference it makes.

So let’s get our work gloves on here and get busy with the week, shall we?

Monday, Passion Ignited – Knight of Wands: A day full of joy and excitement! I like this one. It may be romantic, creative or just plain doing what you love to do. But it’s clearly a day to get excited. Enjoy it! There are challenges coming so make the most of this.

Tuesday, Deception & Envy – Eight of Pentacles reversed: Jealous coworkers? Beware. Strained partnerships? Watch for some truth-bending or plain ol’ jealousy coming into play. If something isn’t quite working, look to jealousy as potential cause. Don’t hold on to it. Just be aware of it, as a factor.

Wednesday, Moving on – The Emperor: One word here–boundaries. Set (and enforce) them to move ahead. Ignore them at your own peril. M’kay?

Thursday, Material Harvest – The Tower reversed: Finances may take a hit, but not the end of the world. Whatever is crumbling down, is already broken. Denying it doesn’t fix it. You have a chance to fix it up before it reaches critical mass. I’d advise doing just that.

Friday, Material & Spiritual Prosperity – Nine of Wands reversed: Perseverance is a virtue and sometimes, damn useful. Bull-headedness? Meh, not so much. Ask for help if you need it. And as Kenny Rogers said, “Know when to hold ’em, know when to fold ’em.” You’ll get further realizing that sometimes, stepping back is the best course of moving forward.

Saturday, Disruption – The Empress reversed: No smothering! This looks like mommy time (or a “mommy attitude”) run amok. Don’t be overly (or uninvitedly) parental to the people around you, unless, you know, you’re actually the parent. On the other hand, someone suffering an emotional blow or setback may require more “mothering” energy than normal. Just be sensitive to how you are connecting to others and whether or not you’re coming across as parental.

Sunday, Conflict & Defeat – Four of Wands reversed: Today is all about safety zones. If you don’t have one or cannot provide it for someone else, it’s…just sad. That’s all. Honor the need for safe space. Appreciate those who offer it to you, and treat it as sacred space whatever safe harbor you offer to someone else. Whatever you do, absolutely do not violate another’s trust. Trust transgressions made today will not be easily forgotten.

Overview/Advice – Three of Cups reversed: Make your own decisions. Friends are the bomb, no doubt! But live your own life. You’re the one who has to tolerate the consequences of your actions.

Affirmation, Clear Your Space – Archangel Jophiel: “Get rid of clutter, clear the energy around you, and use feng shui.” The overall theme I’m seeing this week is on letting go of what is not working. It’s clearing your space to make way for the new–figuratively, sure, but also literally. Clearing the decks is essential. This is not always an easy or fun process, but it is always a necessary one.

Break up and Date up: Weekly Tarot Flow, April 6 -12

Weekly Tarot April 6, 2015

This week reads like a breakup, but the week ends with a new date. Like in real life, the new date doesn’t tend to show up until after the breakup. So bear that in mind if you’ve got some letting go to do.

Looking over this combination as a whole, it speaks of fresh starts. Not a shock coming after an eclipse/full moon, a huge time of release. You have to let go of the reality you have to make room for a new one, y’know. Monday and Tuesday, there’s an burgeoning awareness of emotional complications. Wednesday is cutting free day. Thursday and Friday allow for regrouping and reconnecting with your people. And the weekend is positioning to begin anew. Very poetic! Passions appear to be an overall theme to the coming week, so keep an eye on yours, m’kay?

Monday, Fertility –  Page of Cups: Whatever happens today is born of (and in) the heart. I’m expected it to be an emotionally sensitive day, as the Page of Cups isn’t known for thick skin. But there is a point to the touchy-feelies here. In particular, do gut-checks to identify feelings, Don’t ask yourself what makes sense, ask yourself how you FEEL about what’s going on. That is going to give you a lot more information. And if your feelings aren’t quite what you expect? Examining your emotions is a fruitful activity today.

Tuesday, Passion Ignited –  Five of Swords reversed: What is worth fighting for? Because if you know that, you also know what is NOT worth fighting for. Both are quite valuable tidbits. Of course different people have different convictions and different passions. But we don’t choose what everybody else does or feels. We only direct ourselves.

Wednesday, Emotional Withdrawal –  Three of Swords: Today virtually screams LET IT GO! Seriously. Step back and you know, if there is sadness there, allow it. Take some time to yourself and allow that distance.

Thursday, Intuition –  Knight of Pentacles: Act on your instincts, intuitions and “funny little feelings” in the real world. Make physical, concrete decisions and take real-world action on those little sparks of divine insight today.

Friday, Spiritual Union –  Three of Cups: Spend time connecting with your people. There’s no replacement for love, one of the most healing powers in the universe.

Saturday, Awareness –  Ten of Pentacles: Taking charge of your own life pays off in both tangible and intangible ways. You CAN do this!

Sunday, New Beginnings –  The Moon reversed: Opportunity to start over with more honesty, less crazy. You’re in, right?

Overview/Advice –  Knight of Wands: You’re going to live what you build. Why accept what life defaults you? Put your heart into living this week. It will help you stay true, know what’s real, and decide what’s next.

Affirmation: Lilac –  Strengthen your faith. Just because you don’t know every step from A to B doesn’t mean you’ll never get to B. Oh ye of little faith, cultivate some. You’ve made it this far, right? It’s fine to ask for direction and guidance. Just don’t expect your decisions to be made for you, because that’s not how things work. You make the call and ask for backup support for the capital-U Universe. It will come.

How’s your week looking?

What’s your point? Weekly Flow Tarot, Oct. 27 – Nov 1, 2014

weekly-tarot-flow-oct27-nov1

Ever undertook a project that you never would have undertaken, had you had any clue how much it would entail? Don’t feel bad if the answer is a resounding, “Yes!” by the way. Sometimes, I think this is a trick my invisible friends use to get me to do just about anything. This week’s forecast makes me think of that phenomena. It’s the last mile of some journey, the part where you’re sick and tired of the whole shebang but there is still more to be done. Not a lot more, mind you. But more nonetheless.

But regardless of the weekly forecast, there is some reason to rejoice: Mercury has gone direct! He’s still a bit mottled in his shadow period for a few days, but before the week is out, he’ll be up to his regular hijinks. So let’s sit back a minute and thank God for that!

Okay, down to business!

Monday, Unconscious Desires – Knight of Wands: Be aware of just how bad you’re itching to break free. The Knight of Wands doesn’t know how to sit still; he’s always burning to get a move on. It would be easy enough to rationalize doing what you really want to do anyway. I’m not saying what you want to do isn’t the best choice. Just know WHY, okay?

Tuesday, Advice – Nine of Wands: This is quite an overwhelming scene! But in the position of “Advice,” the Nine of Wands is going to tell you to finish your business. Make sure each and every one of those Zombies is double-tapped, really dead and/or otherwise neutralized before moving on.

Wednesday, Coworkers – Nine of Cups: A lovely reprieve in the middle of what looks like it could be a challenging week. You have HELP. Woot for help! Whether this is a literal coworker, or a family member or friend who fills that role, there is a happy place here, a haven away from stress and strife, courtesy another who works by your side.

Thursday, Significator – Seven of Pentacles: What is the point, today, this whole week? Very clearly, what you’re building for the future. Lessons learned, seeds planted, foundation laid. That’s it!

Friday, Present – The Lovers: A good day not only for romance, but for appreciating what you have in the NOW. Because we are in the present, and we do have love in our lives. Right?

Saturday, What to Avoid – The Chariot: It’s unusual for me to draw a card like the Chariot in the position of “what to avoid,” since it’s generally a positive vibe. Not to mention it’s a bit at odds with the overall trend of the week, so it particularly catches my attention in such a context.  I want to say to you, be committed to your ultimate outcome, but not the road that must be travelled to get there. These are two different things, you know? Sometimes those side trips provide you with a lot more than you would have ever known if you hadn’t had any detours.

Sunday, Clarification – Ten of Swords: Overwhelm sinks in. Not my preference for wrapping up the week, but I just draw ‘em, I don’t pick ‘em! In the context of clarification, though, I’m going to say there has been a whole lot more going on than perhaps you were aware of throughout the week. That knowledge could well hit like a ton of bricks. Give yourself space to process.

Overview/Advice – The Empress: Throughout the week, keep in mind what you are actually creating here, what you’re giving birth to ultimately. That’s the point. That’s the reason for sticking things out until you’ve done what you need to do, and learned what you need to learn. The theme all week has been perseverance, yes, but not blind perseverance! It’s not about pure stubbornness. It’s conscious, guided perseverance we’re going for, as the Chariot and Empress gently remind.

Affirmation –Violet: Create a balanced life. It’s not always easy, it is? Not for me at least! All toghether, this weekly flow Tarot reminds me of a couple of questions that often come in handy for me:

  • What do I hope to accomplish here?
  • How is the action I’m contemplating contributing to that goal?

If you can honestly answer those two questions, you’re good to go. What’s your point? That’s what you need to be aware of this week. Know your point, know what you want to create, and you’ll have some direction in doing it.

Do you know your point?

Self Protection and Restraint – Weekly Flow Tarot, Sept 1- 7

Sept 1 - 7

Well, last week’s forecast pretty much fit my week, up to and including a 4-hour nap on Sunday! Didn’t know I was that tired. So let’s take a peek at the week ahead, shall we?

Overall, we’re a bit heavy on the Cups and Wands suits, with a few of the Major Arcana cards appearing, so we’re still talk an active (Wands), somewhat emotional (Cups)  week and what we figure out is likely to be a big deal (Majors). I am slightly concerned with the possibility of jumping to conclusions with these Knights, they tend to be kind of impulsive, along with the Moon (illusions) showing up in the lineup. It looks to me like the week ahead is going to demand a lot of flexibility and self-restraint to navigate well.

Overall, I’m seeing the need to self-protect as dominant. I don’t consider that a dire declaration. Honestly, we need to do this on a daily basis anyway. But I’m feeling drawn to remind you, and based on what I’m seeing that’s in order. So consider yourself reminded.

Monday, Conscious Desires- Ten of Cups Reversed: A drive for individuality, to be seen as your own person and not part of the group, or cut of another’s mold. Just make sure you’re not being contrary for the sake of being different. Being legitimately different? Awesome! Being contrary? Waste of energy.

Tuesday, Coworkers – Two of Wands: In all partnerships, work or group projects, stand up for what you believe and be clear in presenting your case. You can successfully hold your ground here and make the points that need to be made.

Wednesday, What you can Change – The Emperor Reversed: I’m seeing this two ways. One, you can break out of the traditional mold, try something unique or outside-not-just-the-box-but-the-whole-room! Stark creativity. The other thing you can change is exactly what you try to change, you know? Not everything needs to be controlled. Not everyone needs to live by your standards. Make sure whatever you’re trying to manage is both yours to manage and worth the effort of trying to control. Question being, how important is it, really? M’kay?

Thursday, Problem – The Moon: The problem today is based on illusion, misconception, lack of facts or deception—either self or other invoked. But you know what? You can dream something up just as quickly as you can dream it down. You can imagine GOOD stuff coming just as easily as bad. Why not? At the very least, try to use your imagination for creative and fun ends as much as possible today so it doesn’t run away with you wallowing stuff that isn’t nearly so healthy or helpful.

Friday, Partner – Knight of Wands: A partner or buddy is raring to go, in a hurry. Maybe it’s acting or great ideas or not, but expect cohorts to be hot to get “whatever” a-going. Whether this is good, bad or indifferent in the larger scheme, I don’t know. Impatience is likely if there is not plenty of activity, though. So how about plenty of activity as a plan?

Saturday, Action – King of Cups Reversed: Emotional dump. Call a friend, talk to your mate, journal it out or work on art. Whatever you do to release, it’s a good time for it! Also an auspicious time for any kind of household purge. If you have emotional energy you need to let go, today you can let it go! You’ll be lighter for it. (P.S. Happy Birthday, Captain Virgo!)

Sunday, Answer – Knight of Cups Reversed: The answer is based on looking beneath the feelings, holding back on impulsive and reactionary behavior until you have a clear picture of where the emotional drives are coming from. Avoid unconscious reaction by asking yourself, “Why do I feel more strongly about this than it would seem to warrant?” That’s a huge clue for you, any time your emotional reaction seems way out of proportion to the situation. Feelings are not good or bad, but they are very useful sources of information.

Overview/Advice – Wheel of Fortune: VERY much a time to roll with the punches! This is silly, but I’m thinking of that old song they used to sing on Hee Haw, my parents watched all the time. “Gloom, despair, and agony on me. Deep dark depression, excessive misery. If it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all. Gloom, despair, and agony on me.” Then they’d do some bit, a joke about somebody’s bad luck. Don’t be singing this song! More times than I can count in my life, what I thought was awful luck turned out to be exactly what needed to happen. We just don’t have the perspective to know it. I consider this week to be one of those times. I’m expecting ups and downs—duh, when it there not?—but in the grand scheme, you’ll be getting just what you need.

Affirmation: Cloak Yourself In light. This is from my “Trust Your Vibes” deck, which I really like for self-care advice. The point here is to protect yourself! Shield yourself from the stress, negativity, angst and general chaos of energy out there in the world. How? Well, you can go straight to the point and visualize yourself putting on a coat of light just like in the image, with the intention that you’ll be protected by this. If you’re not all “magical” and such, it might feel silly but done with intention and focus, it actually does work! You can also ask your spirits for help with this, use a sage stick to smudge yourself clean, have your showers “wash off” the negativity and stress of the day, bless and pray over your actual clothing to provide an energetic barrier for you, ask your angels to give you a light cloak, mix up some special lotion to serve as a “light barrier” to protect you, declare your care a safety zone, whatever helps you! I don’t care how you do it—use your imagination to find something that suits you, just do it. Okay?

How’s your week looking? Does this fit your plans?

Riding Fast: Weekly Flow Tarot, July 7 – 11

Weekly Flow Tarot, Jul 7 - 11

Mid-week bump: OH MY GOD! These cards have been utterly and completely spot on in my personal life so far this week. I am used to this, but it’s stunningly so. I did not stop moving all day Monday.  The wedding was lovely, by the way. Tuesday was intense and emotional (and I had to keep myself from getting said emotions all over the floor).

And it’s officially Woo-Woo Wednesday, with our next episode of Woo-Woo Wonderful being recorded live (5pm Central, 6 Eastern) where we are talking about the Element of Water.

I really could not have come up with a more appropriate personal reading for this week.

I have to say, I’m looking forward to that Wheel of Fortune tomorrow, but the reversed Seven of Swords on Friday, not so much! I am trying very hard to grab those quiet moments when I can and focus on what I want to happen. I can do that. And you can, too.

How’s your week shaking out?

p.s. I’m in the process of finishing up a big project, which I am excited about and it is the reason you haven’t seen many videos from me lately. It’s sucked up my free time! All hush-hush for the moment, but if you want to be among the first to know about it, make sure you’re on my mailing list.

The mix of Tarot Suits suggest a week with a lot of variety. Only one Major Arcana card is showing up for Thursday under action, and it’s a friendly one. Woot! I also like the fact we’ve got a mostly upright week. So much less confusing than those weeks with too many inverted cards to sort out.

While I’m fairly happy with this mix, I’m not saying it will necessarily be a gravy/easy week. Setting the pace is two Tarot Knights; you can count on brisk. With the exception of Wednesday’s “Answer” card and the weekly overview card, these are all fast-moving energies we’re talking here. Busy week! So grab those breather-breaks where you can find them.

Monday, Clarification – Knight of Wands: We’re on the move! Things ARE happening, in case you weren’t sure. I happen to be taking a day trip for a kid’s wedding today, and have another kid starting a new job the same day, so it’s a very literal draw for me!

For the rest of y’all, though, I’ll say this—if you’re wondering if you are getting anywhere, you are. If something is happening or not? This is a card of fast, decisive (and possibly impulsive) movement. Yeah, it’s on!

Tuesday, Lesson –Knight of Cups: Learn to hold your liquor! Okay, maybe not quite so literally. But the lesson is centered on responsibly managing feelings, even when they get all…sloshy. Are you leaking your issues on others, dripping sarcasm or hurt feelings or overwhelm on the floor around the house? Try to clean up after yourself.

Wednesday, Answer – Nine of Pentacles: Study up and pay attention. That’s where the missing piece lies today. Hit the books (or the internet, or the phone-a-friend option,  whatever). The information you need is out there and you can identify it because you’ve studied the issue already. You’ve got this.

Thursday, Action – Wheel of Fortune: Very straightforward indication, reasonable gambles pay off. I’m never going to suggest to put the rent money on “Lucky Lady” in the 5th. But if you see an opportunity to reach a little outside your normal comfort zone, I’d expect it to be supported and pay off. Word to the brave!

Friday, Unconscious Desires – Seven of Swords Inverted: There’s an undercurrent here of just wanting all the crap to come out in the open, even if it generates some drama in the short term. I’m feeling this as a tiredness surrounding what’s not being said, and a lack of patience especially with dishonesty. Like accidently “letting something slip” due unconscious desire for it TO slip, you know? Just know that whatever comes up, it’s because it probably needs to come up. Do the best you can, acting from the heart. You can pretty much never go wrong living from a heart-centered place.

Advice/Overview –Four of Wands: Grab those naps when you can. Know your “safe place,” whether it’s a physical place, within a particular community, an emotional place, it doesn’t matter. This looks to be a very busy, potentially demanding week and you want to bring your best to it. So look for those opportunities to retreat, powernap, decompress and gear up for the next round. I’m rooting for you!

Affirmation—Every subject is two subjects: wanted and not wanted. How often do we focus on the “not wanted” part of this equation? I know I’m guilty of that, and it sure doesn’t do much for my performance in obtaining the “wanted” variable. This isn’t just prettified wishful thinking we’re talking. I want to maintain a pragmatically optimistic outlook.

People would call you delusional if you focused entirely on best-case scenarios. Why not acknowledge it’s just as delusional to focus entirely on worst-case outcomes? Of course, look to prepare for life to be less than perfect. But accept that it will generally be more than disastrous! The less time you mentally and emotional live in “disastrous,” the more prepared you are to accept and enjoy any awesomeness that finds its way to your door.

What’s your week looking like? Does this fit it?
