Reversed Magician: Clear Your Head

There are points in everyone’s life where little feels like it’s under our control.

But there’s one thing that we can ALWAYS control: how we manage ourselves. Next week, that’s what we’re looking at.

Next Week in Tarot

For the audio-visual among us, I have a quickie little video for you.

Otherwise, read on!

Outlook next week is represented by the Magician Reversed, with advice coming in as the King of Swords–pictured here from the Legacy of the Divine Deck.

Life isn’t necessarily going to feel within your control in the coming week. It’s like you can’t quite wrap your brain (or your grubby little fingers) around what’s going one.

That’s fine since big, sweeping action may not be the best idea. With the King of Swords as advice, your A-number-one priority is clarity.

Do whatever you can to clear your head and keep it that way. Maybe it’s done through walks, physical exercise, plenty of sleep, distraction, or what-have-you. “Journaling it” out is another option. Swords include words and writing, after all.

Meditation, in particular, is a powerful tool in this regard.  If you don’t do it now, it would be a good time to start a simple little practice. It can be as basic as setting a timer for 10 minutes and listening to the hum of electronics or counting breaths. Doesn’t have to be a big production. It’s just vital that you make the choice to clear your head, however you can manage it.

Don’t make grand, definitive gestures if you haven’t felt your course “click into place” first. The King of Swords is all about being sure, so get yourself sure first. When you’re sure enough to move, you won’t need to ask yourself if you really are sure. You’ll know. The King of Swords does not make moves when he’s still ambivalent.

Hope that’s helpful and hope you have an awesome week!

Two of Wands: You Can’t Please Everyone, So…

What do you do, when you can’t make someone happy?

Maybe you’re connected to someone in a way that’s not going to change. You want the relationship to work and be pleasant.

But despite your best efforts, that’s not happening.

We often think if we can find the right (read: “magic”) words, the right approach or compromise or explanation, that would fix everthing. But it doesn’t.

This question has been on my radar recently and the answer is simpler than it would seem at first glance.

Nobody can truly understand what’s going on in the head of someone else. Nor do we need to. Your job is always YOU.

If it doesn’t feel good, detach from it. Step back. Don’t make it your job to fix the other person or the situation. Just love ’em and give ’em some space.

It reminds me of the old song, Garden Party. “You can’t please everyone, so you have to please yourself.”

Priority one is being happy yourself. Let the rest of the bastards fend for themselves here.  Which takes us to next week’s forecast.

Next Week in Tarot

Outlook is the Two of Wands, with advice as the Ten of Cups (from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot deck).

Got a quick video forecast for you if you want to hear me say it. 😉

There will be choices this week. At times, your needs and desires may feel pitted against the rest of the world. But let your heart guide you.

Comfort and what feels most “at home” for you is the best guide. These decisions are best made outside the scope of pleasing anyone else.

This is actually better advice (for all the time) than you may think at first. If you stick true to your core and lovingly let other people determine their own feelings and experience, life gets a whole lot easier very quickly.

Try it with any challenging relationship. You don’t decide what someone else does or doesn’t do. Instead, you’re deciding what role (if any) you feel at home playing a part in. That’s it. Suddenly, life simplified.

Hope this is helpful and go out there and have an awesome week, folks! ♥

I will be doing some 2020 Holiday Year Ahead Readings as I sometimes do. The details of the special will be announced in a few days, so if you’re interested in what next year will bring for you, keep a lookout. As always, if you’d like a personal or issue-focused consult, you know where to find me!

Devil Reversed: Make Your Escape!

Opportunities for escape can come in all different forms. Sometimes, the packaging isn’t so pretty. A relationship wasn’t working or a job goes away.

Sometimes, it’s a lot more pleasant. You know you’re moving on (and up).

But whatever the specific circumstance, we might want to make the most of those opportunities this coming week.

Next Week in Tarot

For the forecast, it’s The Devil reversed and advice is Eight of Wands reversed – pictured here from the Legacy of the Divine Tarot deck.

Here’s a quickie video forecast.

Your cell door is unlocked. There’s an opportunity to escape a circumstance or situation you are ready to leave behind.

No need to force anything here. This isn’t something you’ll need to make happen. Just keep your eyes open and when you see your chance, slide on through.

It’s coming…

Page of Cups: Easy Does It!

Things fall apart for a reason: it’s required to make way for something new. Many, many times, a big ol’ breakdown is the easiest path to clearing the way for that new.

And sometimes when it looks like something is falling apart? That’s only an indication it’s undergoing a rebirth or reconfiguration. You cannot see the path ahead clearly through all that dust from the demolition, though. That’s the vibe we’re looking at for the coming week.

five of swords reversed page of cups tarot cards

We’ve got the Five of Swords reversed for the forecast side, and the Page of Cups upright for the advice–Legacy of the Divine Tarot deck.

I made another quick video version here.

The bigger message this week is that it’s not over–don’t count yourself (or anyone else) out based on the early indications or trends. It’s not a done deal. In terms of best handling whatever comes up, be gentle. Be kind. Be easy and soft, particular when delivering difficult messages.

Now, this is how I try to behave all the time. A gently-delivered message, wrapped in love, is always going to be more palatable than a harsh rendition of the same facts.

But I’m not going to call this practice sugar coating, because there’s an important difference in my mind.

Sugar coating is adding something manufactured to a message, a phoney sweetness. Sugar coating is usually done  more as response to the speaker’s discomfort than anything else. It’s wanting to be seen as “nice” but still saying what you want to say.

Wrapping a message in love has to be genuine to be effective. Kindness will soften any message but it cannot be contrived kindness, or it just falls flat. Without the heart energy backing the words, they will ring hollow. When you are feeling loving energy during a communication, the message is imbued with the same energy. It doesn’t mean any message will be well-received necessarily, but it sure ups the odds tremendously.

Live in love and everything goes a lot easier.

I’ve been doing a lot of audio readings lately – you get pictures of the cards and a brief summary along with a full-length mp3 of the reading to keep. The feedback has been great for these.

If you’d like to see what’s in the cards for you specifically, give me a holler and I’ll get you set up with a private session.

Six of Wands: Winning? If You Know What to Look For

A big-hearted buddy was explaining why she’s started paying attention to things related to how the stuff she buys is made–specifically what the experience is like for the people making it.

She wasn’t trying to recruit converts or throw shade on anyone not doing as she was.

She’s simply doing what she feels best about. She’s following her gut to make decisions with the intention of supporting positive outcomes for the wider world. That’s it.

You’re true job is to live as authentically as you can. This is good news, because you can always do that.

Even in the midst of chaos, you can always follow your gut about what feels truest. That’s how you are most powerful: undiluted heart.

It would be a good week to practice this kind of approach.

Next Week in Tarot

Outlook is the Six of Wands with advice of the Knight of Cups from the lovely Legacy of the Divine deck.

I did a down and dirty video on this week here.

Any time you see the Six of Wands for a weekly forecast, you can expect things are working out well. But if you mix that with all the feelings (and there will be plenty of those!), the experience can be unpredictable even if the outcome is far less so.

Navigation is most accurate by taking note of emotions. This isn’t a call to whitewash your feelings. That’s never very effective anyway. Just do the best you can with what you’ve got to work with.  Be as loving to yourself as you can, and it becomes easier to be loving to everybody else. Smooth out the rough edges of life with kindness and generosity. Start in the mirror and work your way out.

Feel what you feel and let those feeling steer your way.  In doing so, consistently doing what feels best in your heart, you’re going to stay in harmony with your bigger intentions for the world. And you’ll feel better, too.

Ready to get oriented? Give me a holler for a private consult.

3 of Wands: Personal Choices

I’ve made a whole lot of moves over the years that 1. “sensible” people would consider a bad idea or at the very least, iffy, and 2. I couldn’t clearly see the outcome at the start.

Doing these things anyway has altered the course of my life. I’ve yet to regret a single one of those choices.

Moreover, they’ve taught me that if I take care to follow my inspiration in the moment–the one and only true point of power–the future takes care of itself.

That’s what the upcoming forecast reminds me.

Next Week in Tarot

Outlook is the Three of Wands; advice is the Six of Pentacles (Coins) reversed from the Legacy of the Divine deck. Well-loved cards!

Ever had an idea that you knew, right at the time it struck, was inspired? You felt in your gut you’d just had a great idea…until you started second-guessing yourself. Some of us start almost immediately talking ourselves out of inspirations. And we get ambiguous so we turn to others for reassurance.

Problem is, the energy you show up with is going to be reflected in others’ responses to you. So when you do the “should I or shouldn’t I?” dance, you take that angsty “I don’t know”  vibe and magnify it.

Others cannot provide that sense of excitement you feel with inspiration because you have to be in tune with it before you can feel it to begin with. And if you ARE in tune with it, you don’t give a big, fat diddly squat what anybody else thinks. See how that works?

Own your own diddly squats and protect them fiercely.

I also did a short video because, video!

Plans are still coming together. The future is on course, already. You don’t need to get yourself all wrapped up in the unfolding process, fiddling with the specifics and micromanaging the whole shebang. Doesn’t help!

Also? Don’t need to take a poll on what you should and shouldn’t be doing. Your cues are internal and frankly, we don’t need others talking us out of the wisdom carried in our own hearts, you know?

Mostly, we seek outside input when our energy is split–should I or shouldn’t I? It’s when we’re feeling uncertain, insecure or otherwise tentative that we look to others to shore us up.

Instead, cut to the chase. Get your own energy on straight first. Shore YOURSELF up and the outside support converges where your energy is already pointing. So many people try to operate the other way around and it’s always sluggish and messy.

Have you found this to be the case for you?

If you are looking to clarify what’s up with you (without being told what to do!), give me a holler for a personal consult.
