Everyday Tarot, 05/07/011: Past Mother’s Day Mourning / Inverted Five of Cups

mystic-dreamer-tarot-inverted-five-cups

[This is from Mother’s Day, 2011. I ran across it tonight, and figured maybe somebody needed to hear it. ♥ ~Dix]

It’s almost Mother’s Day. And while countless images of  impeccable Stepford-style family bliss march through our collective consciousness courtesy marketing, it’s enough to make anybody feel inadequate. For too many, Mother’s Day is just another reminder of something they don’t have.

Today’s Tarot is the Five of Cups, inverted. Known as “The Lord of Loss in Pleasure,” this card is associated with Mars in Scorpio. Like all Tarot fives, there’s disruption and conflicted feelings. Quite simply, this is a card of mourning losses. Inverted, expect the mourning to be  cushioned, limited or short-lived.

Lion to Lamb – Weekly Flow Tarot Forecast, Aug 25 – 31

Tarot Forecast

Seeing the week start out with so many of the Wands, I am thinking we begin with some heat, some motion and a lot of activity. Expecting a busy week, with recuperation needs to catch up with us at the end of the week. The flow here reminds me of the old phrase about March, in like a Lion, out like a Lamb? That’s this week. Roaring on Monday all the way through napping on Sunday.  So plan your activities to tackle high energy demands early in the week and you’ll be more free to flow into the end of the week with less stress.

Monday, Lesson – Queen of Wands: Why me? Sometimes when faced with challenges, we ask ourselves, “why me?” This queen would tell you, it’s because you need to know you are strong, because your will is being clarified, because you need to prioritize and crystallize your intentions. She says that life is the sandpaper that smooths the wood. The Queen of Wands teaches the lessons of strength, perseverance and single-mindedness to complete a quest. Emulate her today and you’ll graduate this lesson with a passing grade at least.

Tuesday, Situation – Page of Wands: Think active, laying the groundwork for what is to come. Pages are young, so things are just getting started. There may be big plans, exciting plans, or a message with possibilities. This is a day for setting the stage. If you have to-do tasks for long term goals, employment related chores, or the inspiration to begin a creative project, it’s an excellent time for starting to get things in order. Just understand there may be changes and morphing along the way. But for now, getting started is what counts.

Wednesday, What you can Change –King of Wands: Quite literally, you can change what you DO. You cannot control what anybody else does, or thinks or believes. But you can change what you do. So if you want a change in what’s going on, make a change in what you do. Keep following through with what you started earlier in the week.

Thursday, Coworkers – Strength: Get some extra patience, help and support from those you are working with, or offer some up if you’ve got some to spare. Here, “coworkers” can be anyone with whom you share common objectives. The idea being that getting through life’s difficulties is a whole lot easier if done in a group, and that group support is on offer right now. Gentle, easy-going and patience, it doesn’t have to be dramatic. But the results of group endeavors might be. Just not the endeavor itself.

Friday, Conscious Desires – Hanged Man Inverted: Tap, tap, tap, foot tapping! This is impatience. This is an urge to “meddle” and mess and an undercurrent of anxiety. There’s an itch to just “do something.” I’d say most likely, you’ll have trouble completing something concrete, it’s sort of a hard-to-grasp energy here. But you can make lists, contingency plans, organize and classify. That counts as “something” that can be done. So do it, and then take yourself a walk to burn off nervous energy. Ground, okay? Ground.

Saturday, Blocking or Covering – Two of Wands reversed: Are you feeling kind of insecure, wall-flowerish? That timid response can be a liability if nobody understands what you’re trying to say. Be clear. Stand up for yourself as needed without being argumentative. Being clearly yourself and clear about yourself doesn’t start a standoff. It helps avoid misunderstandings.

Sunday, Body – Ace of Cups: An emotional day, or day to emotionally recover. Time outside, time around the water, meditation and overall quiet does an awful lot of good. I’m also getting the feeling we really just need a chance to process the rest of the week! Don’t overbook today. Allow spaces between the activities because the most important parts of this day happen in the spaces.

Overview/Advice – 10 of Cups Reversed: You may not see consensus among those you care about this week. Family and the family of friends you call your own might not see everything eye-to-eye with you. That’s okay. You don’t have to agree with someone to love them anyway! Otherwise, we’d only have to look in the mirror for companionship. I’d be very aware throughout the week of putting the love first, the opinions and differences clearly second. You know what I mean? Peace is worth cultivating. You have to make your own decisions, and should. Just don’t let differences in perspective drive a wedge between you and loved ones. Opinions change, but people that give a damn about you are VALUABLE. If feelings are getting a bit raw, seek space to allow a little cool down time. That helps. And look forward to some nap time on Sunday if you can!

Affirmation: “Woo-Woo” is wonderful. Love this one! Be you, free and true. One of the toughest things for people to get over when they are really kicking in with tuning in to their own intuition, more into the “woo” as we say, is NOT outside criticism although there is that aplenty. It’s the self-criticism that shuts them down! Without it, they can begin to hear the inner voice and getting that kick-ass guidance system fully operating. Stop worrying about how or why or God help us, what next, what next?!? Just DO. This is a great week—okay, I think every week is a great week for really turning the connection on high.

We’re starting out on fire, so make the early week active as Hell, knock out as much as you can, allow others to be there for you as they show up, and sink back into the comfy chair to figure out what happened next weekend. But through it all, be YOU, be honest with yourself and take deep breaths to listen, listen, listen to what your gut tells you. Don’t you know, it never steers you wrong?

Does this fit your week’s schedule?! Sounds busy, sometimes kind of challenging, but damn productive. Go get ‘em!

Way Not Personal! August Monthly Tarot Forecast

Dude, better late than never, right? Got a new video Tarot forecast for you!

Short version: Friends and family are likely recovering from stressors, many of which visited us last month. It’s a healing time. Be kind, be gentle with those you care ab0ut and most of all, don’t take it personally! Side note: I actually recorded this late-ish July but through a series of circumstances didn’t get it up until now. So it gives us a better-than-usual chance to compare to life experiences.

How’s it matching your August?

Illusion Ends! Weekly Flow Tarot, August 4 – 10

flow 001

Looking at this week at a whole. I’m thinking we’re talking a significant change of perspective…perhaps not entirely comfortable. Like when a child first realizes there is no Santa, it seems to be a week for outgrowing outmoded lessons. We’ve got a couple of Major Arcana (big deal) along with a mix of the other suits. But whatever form it takes in our lives, I’m really thinking it’s a long term re-orientation.

Monday, Question – Two of Wands: Black and white, this or that? While this art doesn’t show a faceoff, the Two of Wands usually implies one, although it may not be visible.  There is a choice of some sort. The job today is to clarify what it is you are choosing between.

Tuesday, Lesson – The Moon reversed: Looks like learning about some personal “crazy” – someplace where you may have been deceving yourself coming into focus. A little ouchy maybe, but good in the long run.

Wednesday, What to Take from the Past – The Hanged Man: Was there a time when your faith that everything would be okay was stronger? When you were more sure things would work out or you’d get exactly what you needed? That. That is good to bring with you into the now. Music, prayer and naps are saving graces. Showers and baths are also soothing.

Thursday, Relationship – The Fool Reversed: Don’t be petty, and don’t be surprised if somebody you’re connected to is a little petty. It’s a mood, it will pass.

Friday, Disappointment – Eight of Pentacles: Work can be so much…well, work. It’s not always exciting but responsibility can have it’s own rewards. If you’re not happy with where you are, start looking to take one step closer to where you’d like to be. It starts with now.

Saturday, Clarification – Four of Cups Reversed: Have your expectations been unrealistic? Daydreams gone amuck? Maybe what you’ve got isn’t so bad, really. It’s just not what you imagined. Maybe you can start imagining from today, huh? That’s a plan.

Sunday, What to Leave in the Past – Knight of Swords: Filters on the mouth are good. Being critical is not necessarily helpful. Saying everything you’re thinking when it is critical, not a great idea.

Overview/Advice, 7 of Pentacles: Everything this week, good bad and ugly, consider the long-term implications. You’re doing what you need to do to get where you need to get. It may not be where you expected, I got it. But hey, is it really that bad? Or does it maybe have possibilities you never imagined? Go there.

Affirmation: All is Well in my World. This is kind of self-explanatory, don’t you think? Appreciate what you’ve got, man. So many don’t have that. Be grateful. And be well. Have a great week!

Hearing Exam: Weekly Flow Tarot, July 28–August 1

Weekly Flow Tarot Jul 28 - Aug 1

Anytime I see this many cards reversed, I know it’s not going to be an especially easy week. It helps some that they are generally friendly cards, but it still tells me progress will feel slow and probably frustrating at times, maybe with a 2-steps-forward, 1-step-back quality.

In fact, this spread unfolds like a story, a little version of the Hero’s Journey. You start with a choice that is best made according to your own heart, not to gain the approval of family or your circle of friends (Monday). It’s complicated by realizing in the past, your dreams did not materialize and that’s discouraging (Tuesday); it hurts how much you trust your own judgment. However, you’re determined to make it and deal with whatever comes your way (Wednesday). The storms have left you feeling a bit jaded, having trouble trusting (Thursday). Ultimately, you’re in the process of learning to become your own guru (Friday).

Monday, Advice – Ten of Cups Revered: Don’t go to others for advice today, however well they mean you. This one is yours.

Tuesday, Past – The Star Reversed: Instead of focusing on what has NOT worked out of what you wanted, what has? In what ways has it been better than you could have ever guessed?

Wednesday, Crowning Influences – Six of Swords: Determination, grit and perseverance pay off. Use the one-step-up approach. Wherever you are now, keep moving a little closer, a little closer to where you want to be. Every step along the journey counts.

Thursday, You – Six of Cups Reversed: Neither an overly trusting nor an overly cynical attitude serves very well. Today looks to be off-kilter in the trust department. Let actions speak louder than presuppositions, okay?

Friday, Underlying Influences – The Hermit Reversed: Are you hesitant to trust yourself? Are you very much influenced by others around you? You may not be taking enough quiet time to just allow yoruself to hear your inner thoughts and feelings.

Take-home/dixiblog/domains/afoolsjourney.com/public_html – Queen of Swords, Reversed: An inverted queen to me is saying, “You’re not listening!” Especially with the other cards drawn, it’s really important this week to listen. Listen to yourself, listen to input, yes, but most of all, listen to your inner voice and give that voice the most weight. Weigh things out logically.

Angel Message, Clairaudience– Archangel Zadkiel: "Notice the loving guidance you hear in side your mind, or from other people."

Some words of wisdom may come from inside, and some from outside, but it’s a sure thing we have to shut up long enough to hear them! We have to quiet the anxiety, quiet our mind, breathe and allow the space for communication to happen. No matter where the words come from, look for those that resonate within you as true and right, those that carry extra weight. That’s your clue they matter to you. You hear what I’m saying?

Giving that Little Bit: Weekly Flow Tarot, July 21 – 25

July 21 -25 Weekly Flow Tarot

In the last few months, I’ve started consciously working with moon cycles. One of my very early intentions was to honor and respect my natural cycles. I tend to push myself harder and feel bad for needing to when I am having an ebb, and expect myself to be at constant flow. That is kind of what this forecast reminds me of: honoring one’s natural energy cycles.

The weekly here is showing a very definite ebb and flow to energy. Cycles, ups and downs. This is very helpful to know, as we can work our way around the situation by riding the flows and allowing the ebbs.

Monday, Body – The Emperor: Be in charge of your physical self today, not the other way around. Seeing a Mars-ruled card paired with body, I would expect exercise as a method to burn off any nervous energy is a super idea! Stay in control of what you eat, what you do, how you move. The idea is being master of your physical self and health. If that means naptime, so be it. Just make it a decision, not a default, that’s the whole point. Not how much or how little you push yourself physically. Just that you are making a decision what’s best for your body and then following it.

Tuesday, Relationship – Ace of Cups Rx: Uh oh. That’s an emotional disconnect today. I’m seeing this as being drained, maximum emotional bandwidth already spent. Don’t expect a heart-to-heart to go far today. I’d back off and opt for a little distraction as opposed to trying to hash anything out. Care for your own feelings if they are tender. Allow others to be raw if that’s what they are. Kindness goes a long way…

Wednesday, Mind – 9 of Pentacles: Clear, focused and spot-on today. Maybe the break yesterday helped! A good day to observe and learn from your observation.

Thursday, Health – 8 of Pentacles Rx: Are you neglecting your physical temple? Because this combo says something about the health routine just isn’t working. For me, that “something” that’s not working is most likely to be me. Uh oh!

Friday, Hopes and Fears – Page of Cups Rx: We want love just as we are, but fear we’re unlovable if we’re fully known. It becomes a catch-22. Intimacy requires honesty. I am reading this as worries about how others feel about you, and how much you are actually valued. I don’t know a great cure for that, other than being loving yourself and letting people know how much you value them. That usually helps warm things up.

Weekly Take-home/dixiblog/domains/afoolsjourney.com/public_html – 6 of Pentacles: I’m thinking of this in terms of investment. Invest in your health by taking care of your physical needs. Invest in your relationships by being kind and letting folks have the space they need. Invest in your mind by feeding it engaging stimuli. Invest in your heart by staying centered in that energy, living from your heart. What you feed, grows. The energy you put out this week is an investment.

I’m hearing that song in my head, Give a Little Bit…it would be an awesome theme song for this week.

Give that little bit!

Angel Message, Clairvoyance -  Archangel Raziel: "I am helping your spiritual sight to awaken fully so you can clearly see Heavenly love." What a lovely message! Squishy-soft-love-and-light as all get out, but a lovely message nonetheless.

In the context of this weekly forecast, keep your eyes open. Extra information may be available visually. If you are working on actual Clairvoyance (or would like to), ask your invisible friends to send you visual images. Then pay attention to anything that seems to “jump out” at you visually, anything that seems larger, brighter or slightly more prominent. It’s subtle and at first, you’re going to question whether or not you are imagining. Also pay attention to images that form in your mind’s eye, as incoming messages often arrive this way. But even if you’re not attuned to the psychic gig, do watch and learn this week. I’m betting there will be a lesson worth paying attention to!

How does this stack up with your week?
