Emotional Scrubbing: Weekly Flow Tarot, June 1 – June 7

merc rx forecasts 006 (1024x683)

Another week where literal Mercury Rx is literal. Agh! I am struggling with this retrograde round, folks. I will spare you the details, but let me say I’m counting the minutes. Seriously, counting the minutes. I’m seeing and hearing reports of some harsh realizations cropping up and general upheaval. Just not very freakin’ comfortable. At all.

But it is what it is. It’s cleanup time and some of us? We have messes. To those who don’t, well good on you! As for me, I have some but I appreciate the opportunity to fix things up.

Monday, Two of Wands: Choices to be made.  Here I am talking about cleanup work, and we’ve got the maybe-not-so-happy housewife carrying a broom and mop. Make decisions that are “clean” today, ethically, authentically, as best you can. Make decisions that correct mistakes you’ve previously made. You’ll thank me next Mercury Rx.

Tuesday, Ten of Swords Reversed: More cleanup detail. The Ten of Swords I always prefer to see inverted, because that’s just past the apex of ouch! This card shows up when the inevitable reality has fully and finally sunken in. This is an inescapable but very necessary process. It’s like pulling the thorn(s) out of your paw before you bop on down the path.

Wednesday, The Moon: Ah, blessed sweet naptime! Understand we may be in a bit of a dream. Find some escape today. It numbs the sting and frankly, we need a break!

Thursday, King of Swords: Streamline! Hasn’t this guy been showing up a lot lately? Pare down and don’t overcommit. Also great for planning and reasoning through any obstacles that show up. Let “on-task” be your mantra today.

Friday, Nine of Cups: Oh thank God! We’ve got a fun Friday lined up. Expect (or deliver) a sweet surprise today. Look for a gift, in whatever form and whatever you do, appreciate it!

Saturday, Queen of Cups Reversed: I’m not thinking of this as moody per se…although this reversed Queen often is. But today, I’m thinking more over-emotional in general. You know that borderline weepy one can get without enough sleep? That. Nothing horrible. Just emotionally reactive. Be kind to yourself.

Sunday, Queen of Pentacles: Time in the outdoors is an excellent plan, as it good food and plenty of hugs. It’s a great day to spend time with loved ones and look after those who need some extra care as well. Especially rewarding to feed the hungry today.

Overview/Advice – Choose Wisely, Page of Wands reversed: Once again, it’s a week to keep a lid on the impulsive behavior. Tempers, stay in check! No rage quitting important parts of your life. You can honor your feelings–and should. But you don’t need to spill them all over the floor.

Affirmation: I forgive myself. I don’t need to expound a lot on this one, do I? Self-love is the foundation for being a loving person. Those who are not able to forgive themselves will always struggle with loving relationships. Forgiveness allows release. With release, you can open your heart. Open hearts can be filled.

This week is like an emotional scrubbing. You’ve got to get the dirt out of those wounds, but don’t scrub too hard. Things are a little raw. Overall, maybe not easy, but potentially powerful. I’m grateful for the breaks built in, and encouraged by the prospects of healing the week holds.

Are ya happy, Mercury?!

How’s your week looking?

Choosing to Move On: Weekly Tarot Flow, May 25 – 31

Man. Sometimes when I do a forecast like last week’s, where the cards end up matching my own experiences so closely, I wonder if I’m missing out for you guys and inadvertently reading for myself! I am thinking, maybe I’m just riding the same wave as everybody else. I don’t know, but the cards last week? Pretty much spot on for me.

Literal Tarot is literal.

And Mercury Retrograde continues to amaze and astound me, with some stunning deja vu. I feel very good about the fact that I learned plenty the first time around and didn’t need to waffle indecisively on how to play the reruns. It’s reassuring, those kinds of reminders. It feels good to not only see, but feel actual progress. You, too?

This week’s layout reminds me of recovering from an illness or emotional hit. The week starts out on a upnote but about midweek, there’s some processing to be done. We do end up on solid ground, though, with Sunday’s Queen of Pentacles. Also notable is that four of the eight draws, literally half the cards I pulled, are court cards. That suggests personalities, perhaps of the “larger than life” variety, will play a relevant role in the week’s progress.

I would not be surprised if you are presented a clear option, midweek, of DEALING with a difficult situation versus taking a little dip in the river of denial. I won’t give you my advice because you probably already know it. But if choose to process, expect to be back on your feet by the time you’re wrapping up the weekend. Fair enough?

merc rx forecasts 004 (1024x683)

Monday, Nine of Cups: Again with the Nine-of-Cups-Monday! Not that I’m complaining, mind you.  Expect a gift, wish to be granted or lovely surprise today. It could be tangible, or not so much, like gifts arriving in the form of kind words and appreciation. Whatever you get, be glad for it and bask a little in the gratitude. Gratitude basking is one of my favorite sports.

Happy Memorial Day!

Tuesday, King of Swords: Catch up on what needs to be accomplished. Make phone calls, pay pills, fill out paperwork, take notes, research options. This is an excellent day for cutting through red tape and taking care of business. It will go as smoothly as it’s going to, during a Mercury Rx. Besides as we all know, you cannot stop living your life based on Mercury’s antics. Life remains open for business, so take care of it!

Wednesday, Two of Wands: Choices to be made today. You can hold your own, whatever you choose so don’t let self-doubt be the deciding factor.  You definitely have got this, so make the right choice for you.

Thursday, Ten of Swords reversed: On the comeback from overwhelm, or sense of great hurt and betrayal. You may well be feeling some sting, but seeing this card reversed is a good thing. It means those swords are coming out and healing is underway. Don’t try to force anything. Just let it happen.

Friday, The Moon: A dreamy, escapist quality to the day. Very little focus. More recuperation time. Drinks, naps, tunes and movie binges will all fit the mood d’jour.

Saturday, Queen of Cups Reversed: Keep those emotions in check, lest they leak all over the floor. Moodiness and sentimentality quite likely. If you spend the day with others, pick people you trust if at all possible. Love is very healing.

Sunday, Queen of Pentacles: Doesn’t the world look so much better after a good night’s sleep? It’s all that’s standing between the reversed Queen of Cups meltdown and the upright Queen of Pentacles, happy Earth mother. Eat! Better yet, feed somebody. Be kind to your body and stimulate your mind. Physical activity is a great outlet today, as is time outside. Think picnic,  meditation, nature walk or even coffee on the porch.

Overview/Advice: Sacrifice, Page of Wands: You cannot have everything your way! Change what you can–or what is your business to change–and let go of the rest. Trusting others to be competent is an act of faith, a way to show respect. Don’t drive your point home too hard. Put it out there and walk away. Mind your business, and let the rest take care of itself.

Affirmation: I am willing to let go. As sparks of spirit in a physical body, we have a finite amount of energy to budget throughout our lives Spending it in fear of the future or fuming over the past is not a particularly good expenditure. It limits your true point of power: the infinite now. Forgiveness isn’t a gift you give to others. It’s a way to improve your own life, right now. Living with a loving heart, bearing no ill will, and just getting on with your life best you can is SO much more peaceful than any other option. Let go, let go, let go. Love yourself enough to let go of the hard stuff. Let any pain and unpleasantness flow through you, and love that too. As you accept it, you can release it.

How are y’all doing out there? Are you choosing to move on?

Mind Those Toes: Weekly Tarot Forecast, May 18 – 24

When I offer help or advice, I have a standard practice of intention: I send it with sincere goodwill, and then consciously look to release the outcome. I’m not always successful or perfect in this practice, but it’s my goal.

I want to never feel angry about how my help is utilized…or not. Sometimes, it’s easier said than done. Sometimes, I have to remind myself: not my life, not my business. It’s my choice how much energy I offer up and it should only be energy I can afford to spare. My job is to send it off with love and the best of intentions, and let it go, trusting the universe will send it wherever it needs to go.

It’s the intention, the good will and positive mojo that goes out from my heart that’s the real gift. The rest is just window dressing.

That’s the vibe around this coming week – mind your business and let others mind theirs, but with love. Do what you can for your fellow humans, yes, of course! But continue walking your own path at the same time. Otherwise, we’re liable to get some sore feet from stepping on one another’s toes!

merc rx forecasts 001 (1024x683)

Since we’re starting another Mercury retro (ugh!) AND a lot of folks are getting hammered out there, I thought I’d cheer up the place with the also-retro Housewives Tarot. I pulled a couple weeks ahead too, and was shocked by the number of repeat cards we got over the next few weeks.

This shouldn’t surprise me. Literal retrograde is literal.

I was also not really expecting this lineup. We’ve got some major arcana in there (big happenings), and plenty of cups (emotion) with a few swords (conflict and reason) thrown in. Maybe it sounds bad, but that Nine of Cups to start out the week really shocked me. Folks have been getting a little battered lately, so I didn’t expect–but totally welcome–the good news. Although it’s not all sunshine and roses the next week, it’s only slightly bipolar. Ha!

Monday – Nine of Cups: Expect good news, to get a bit of relief, or just some really pleasant interaction today. Monday looks like a gift. Don’t forget to say, “Thank you!”

Tuesday – Strength inverted: You’ve got what it takes to get the job done, but you may not feel it today. Sidestep any temptation to be short-tempered or pushy about getting your way. A steady, gentle approach is required, but you may have to step back in order to achieve that. A time-out when you start to feel stressed-out is a great coping mechanism.

Wednesday – The Star: Another “up” day! Expect some acknowledgement and encouragement today. Yay!

Thursday – Seven of Cups: Don’t go getting the big head after yesterday’s blue ribbon, man. Empty flattery may make it’s way to your ears today. Don’t act on something just because you’d like to believe the press here. Wait for the backup facts to emerge naturally. Truth bears out and stands on it’s own accord.

Friday – Four of Swords: Make it a light schedule or take off early if you can. A little chill time does a world of good. Spa night? Netflix binge? Hot bath, glass of wine and a good book? It’s all good. Self-care rules today.

Saturday – Two of Wands: Take care of business, right off the bat if you can. Putting off until later isn’t the best option if you don’t want to be scrambling. Leave plenty of lead time and do your chores in the morning for a more relaxed and less hectic afternoon and evening. You’ll be glad you did.

Sunday – King of Swords: It would be a super day to pencil in a schedule for the coming week, or at least a loose goal list. Extra effort into tracking the details of what you’ve got going is effort well spent.  Prep now to make the coming week easier on yourself. Do not over-commit; it’s a time for streamlining, as opposed to expanding, that to-do list.

Overview/Advice, Triumph – Two of Cups inverted: Your direction has to be your own. Understand people who love you sometimes get frustrated, when you don’t make the decisions they would. Perfectly natural. But your choices need to come from your heart, not your partners’ or friends’ heart. You’ve got one job here: being yourself with total integrity. You have the perfect qualifications. Use them!

Affirmation: All my relationships are harmonious. At first blush, this affirmation almost seems contradictory with the overview above, but it’s not. Relationships are most likely to be harmonious when your thoughts, deeds and values align. If you’re engaged enough with your own life, you have less need to live the lives of others (through unsolicited advice or immersion in extraneous drama). The secret is making your own decisions and for everyone else? Love and let go, love and let go. It’s a profound act of respect not to try to micromanage loved ones’ lives.

You feeling the urge to step on some toes? Is anybody stepping on yours?

P.S. Thanks to everyone who got a Zodiac reading. They are really going well, so I’ll keep the special running until I get around to adding them to the consult page. I will definitely be adding them in the regular offerings though. But for now, my disorganization is your opportunity for savings.

Fuzzy Math! Weekly Flow Tarot, Dec. 1 – 7

Tarot Flow Dec 1 - 7

Several months ago, I decided to tackle some tasks I had been…putting off, to be unduly generous. Truth was, I was really scared I wouldn’t be able to manage, to work it all out. And if that happened, what would I do? I had to deal. So instead of tackling the unpleasantries, I’d let myself get overwhelmed and just procrastinated the whole mess of chores.

But that didn’t feel good, and it added to anxiety. I opted to handle it and dive in I did, one to-do list at a time. It wasn’t as impossible as I was letting it seem to be…Come to think of it, I’ve got one of those lists building up a little as we speak. Uh oh.

But this coming week? It’s kind of like that.

I’m thinking of this week as “fuzzy math” on multiple fronts. Fuzzy math in the cost-benefit analysis, fuzzy math in the remembrances of yester-year, fuzzy math in the who (or what) carries the most weight category, fuzzy math in the what-you-can-and what-you-cannot accomplish category, and fuzzy math on the “how do you really rate?” question. A whole bunch of fuzzy math! And it’s the kind of problem that may be a little intimdating to even attempt to work out. But you work it out just like you work out anything else…one step at a time.

Monday, Spirit – Seven of Pentacles Reversed: In the position of Spirit, this card says the heart is not in it, and focus is not on the long-term. This is a line in the sand, past which you’re ready to go no further. It’s not the “I’ll do whatever it takes, no matter how long it takes” vibe. It’s the “I’m damn tired and I want to go home now” vibe. I’m not saying you don’t have a choice which urge you act on, or even which one is right for you. But the general urge here is to pack up your toys and go home!

Tuesday, Question, Magician Reversed: Who is pulling the strings? Who is manipulating whom? Who is deftly, perhaps imperceptibly, influencing outcome? The reversed Magician can be very clever and very sneaky, for that matter. I’m seeing one of those shell game street hustlers. Ask yourself who is stacking the odds, who has the most to gain, to stay on top of your game today. Don’t underestimate the quiet ones. Ha!

Wednesday, What to Take From the Past – Nine of Cups: Remember what used to make you feel contented, complete. Do you still have it? Appreciate it! If not so much, what can you do to access similar feelings? There are hints for you today in what used to make you happy. We’re looking for ways to revive that party in the present.

Thursday, Past – Four of Cups Reversed: Rose-colored glasses taking the edge off your memories of days gone by? The “good old days” were not always good, and much you take for granted now at one time was a distant dream. Reconcile the reality of the past with both the challenges and the blessings of the present. It will give you a more stable platform from which to ponder your next move.

Friday, What to Know – The Moon: You cannot argue with crazy. You cannot expect on a liar to confess. You cannot prove your personal, magical knowings to the skeptic. It’s a very fuzzy day, today. Like seeing the world through a soft focus lens. It would be a good time for music, mediation, movies, and all things with a bit of an ethereal, ungraspable quality about them. Not so much with the cold, hard facts, though. Don’t expect the day to be something it’s not and you’re much more likely to be happy with it—instead, exercise you “mystery and magic” muscles and you’ll find it all a lot more satisfying.

Saturday, Hopes and Fears – Two of Wands Reversed: This is a worry over not being up to the tasks at hand. It could be specifically fear surrounding a particular challenge, either from an individual or a specific situation…note that to get this card at all, the potential to hold your ground is already there. You just have to do the rest of your prep work. It’s getting there.

Sunday, What You Can’t Change – King of Pentacles Reversed: No benevolent bailout is waiting. It’s important to look after your own needs today. You can do it! You ARE doing it. So just continue to do it. And feel good about it, okay? That right there is something to be proud of. Taking care of business is awesome!

Overview/Advice – Eight of Swords: Throughout the week, look at those limitations that you attribute to circumstance, outside sources and unchangeable situations with an unwavering objectivity. Because…are they? Are they really? Beware the “Yes-But Syndrome,” where you dismiss available options with a, “Yes, but…” Taking off a self-imposed blindfold could make all the difference in coping and comfort levels.

Affirmation – Breathe. Archangel Raphael: “Take several deep breaths, and exhale slowly to awaken your energy and release old patterns.” Freedom is a good thing—and getting nudged (or smacked) with old patterns gives us the option to release those patterns. This is virtually never a comfortable exercise. But it’s virtually always a valuable one. I’ll take progress over comfort. What about you?

What’s your point? Weekly Flow Tarot, Oct. 27 – Nov 1, 2014

weekly-tarot-flow-oct27-nov1

Ever undertook a project that you never would have undertaken, had you had any clue how much it would entail? Don’t feel bad if the answer is a resounding, “Yes!” by the way. Sometimes, I think this is a trick my invisible friends use to get me to do just about anything. This week’s forecast makes me think of that phenomena. It’s the last mile of some journey, the part where you’re sick and tired of the whole shebang but there is still more to be done. Not a lot more, mind you. But more nonetheless.

But regardless of the weekly forecast, there is some reason to rejoice: Mercury has gone direct! He’s still a bit mottled in his shadow period for a few days, but before the week is out, he’ll be up to his regular hijinks. So let’s sit back a minute and thank God for that!

Okay, down to business!

Monday, Unconscious Desires – Knight of Wands: Be aware of just how bad you’re itching to break free. The Knight of Wands doesn’t know how to sit still; he’s always burning to get a move on. It would be easy enough to rationalize doing what you really want to do anyway. I’m not saying what you want to do isn’t the best choice. Just know WHY, okay?

Tuesday, Advice – Nine of Wands: This is quite an overwhelming scene! But in the position of “Advice,” the Nine of Wands is going to tell you to finish your business. Make sure each and every one of those Zombies is double-tapped, really dead and/or otherwise neutralized before moving on.

Wednesday, Coworkers – Nine of Cups: A lovely reprieve in the middle of what looks like it could be a challenging week. You have HELP. Woot for help! Whether this is a literal coworker, or a family member or friend who fills that role, there is a happy place here, a haven away from stress and strife, courtesy another who works by your side.

Thursday, Significator – Seven of Pentacles: What is the point, today, this whole week? Very clearly, what you’re building for the future. Lessons learned, seeds planted, foundation laid. That’s it!

Friday, Present – The Lovers: A good day not only for romance, but for appreciating what you have in the NOW. Because we are in the present, and we do have love in our lives. Right?

Saturday, What to Avoid – The Chariot: It’s unusual for me to draw a card like the Chariot in the position of “what to avoid,” since it’s generally a positive vibe. Not to mention it’s a bit at odds with the overall trend of the week, so it particularly catches my attention in such a context.  I want to say to you, be committed to your ultimate outcome, but not the road that must be travelled to get there. These are two different things, you know? Sometimes those side trips provide you with a lot more than you would have ever known if you hadn’t had any detours.

Sunday, Clarification – Ten of Swords: Overwhelm sinks in. Not my preference for wrapping up the week, but I just draw ‘em, I don’t pick ‘em! In the context of clarification, though, I’m going to say there has been a whole lot more going on than perhaps you were aware of throughout the week. That knowledge could well hit like a ton of bricks. Give yourself space to process.

Overview/Advice – The Empress: Throughout the week, keep in mind what you are actually creating here, what you’re giving birth to ultimately. That’s the point. That’s the reason for sticking things out until you’ve done what you need to do, and learned what you need to learn. The theme all week has been perseverance, yes, but not blind perseverance! It’s not about pure stubbornness. It’s conscious, guided perseverance we’re going for, as the Chariot and Empress gently remind.

Affirmation –Violet: Create a balanced life. It’s not always easy, it is? Not for me at least! All toghether, this weekly flow Tarot reminds me of a couple of questions that often come in handy for me:

  • What do I hope to accomplish here?
  • How is the action I’m contemplating contributing to that goal?

If you can honestly answer those two questions, you’re good to go. What’s your point? That’s what you need to be aware of this week. Know your point, know what you want to create, and you’ll have some direction in doing it.

Do you know your point?

05/03/14: Still lazy? Day Off! / 9 of Cups!

9 cups meaning

Tarot is once again stuttering with a repeat appearance of the Nine of Cups. Y’all know I shuffle the cards, because I wouldn’t be picking the same ones over and over again. Of course, if one was going to choose a repeat, the “wish card” would be a good one to choose!

Good day to take off. It’s a Saturday, so a lot of y’all do that anyway. I don’t always, but I’m going to see what I can manage anyway.

Indulge yourself, and don’t overbook. There’s satisfaction to be had, if you’ll allow it. How often is not allowing it the issue, anyway? Personally, I say grab these days whenever you can and make the most of them. They make the following days when there isn’t so much room for leisure much easier.

So once again, license to indulge, granted!

And speaking of grind…I’m going to be switching up my forecast routine. I know y’all read and love the dailies from the consistent feedback I get, so I’m not abandoning public forecasts entirely. But sometimes it feels like they have become such a significant part of what I do, there is not energy for other types of creative work. I won’t be abandoning the forecasts entirely at this point, but I will be experimenting with frequency, format and variations to see if I can’t maintain the public service angle for now while allowing my energy to get redistributed a little.

So be on the lookout for changes…I’m kind of excited to see what I come up with. Har!
