Knight of Cups: Let Yourself Soar

“You can’t have it all…” he starts.

“Of course you can!” I interrupted, not concerning myself in the least with being obnoxious. I was visiting with friends.

“Maybe not all at once,” I continued. “Sometimes it takes a minute. And once you have it, you’ll obviously find a new ‘all’ to want. But there’s no reason not to have exactly what you want.”

I spoke with such conviction, he didn’t seem to know what to make of it. I could tell he liked the idea, but appeared unsure if the notion was revolutionary or delusional.

I get that reaction a lot.

I’ve found myself saying similar things lately to a number of people. You don’t have to choose. You don’t have to compromise. You can have what you want. You can have it all. And I feel people wanting to believe me, when I say such things. Their gut does believe me, even when the brain argues.

That gut knows what the brain cannot fathom.

The reason why so many people don’t have what they want has nothing to do with the potential. It has everything to do with approach. Massaging and manipulating conditions to get what you want is very hard work, usually with a very limited payoff. You can make progress sometimes, but it’s both slow and exhausting. It’s easy to lose ground; there are too many moving parts. You question and second-guess and get discouraged and doubt yourself, trying to tilt the world. The world’s answer is “try harder” and that’s not a very satisfying answer.

A whole lot of your energetic budget is expended in a back-and-forth struggle. We’re so good at identifying all the physical reality, we tend to dismiss the energy. The energy always flows first, before the real world catches up to it in form of manifested circumstances. If you want life to be easier, work with the energy instead of the physical manifestation. It’s a lot easier to move!

In fact, energy work is the ultimate shortcut. Let go of the “how” and focus on the “why.” Evoke the feelings of what you want and start riding that vibe. Look for the elements of what you’re after in your present tense life. If you want love, seek opportunities to feel love. If you want abundance, look around for that which is abundant in your life, even if it’s in a different form. The idea here is to amp up the vibration of what you want.

Line up the energy first and hold it steady as you can. Then the outer, physical world must acquiesce to your dominant vibration. Give yourself permission to test this idea, even without seeing the logic of it. Look for your inner harmony and let the rest of the world fill in around that, because it will.

Next Week in Tarot

Here we have “Understanding” (aka the Knight of Cups) from Osho Zen Tarot, paired with Phlox–Unanimity and Harmony–from Botanical Inspirations. The bird shown here is getting ready for flight, as the bars are dissolving. He’s realizing that cage was an illusion and he’s preparing to join the other birds in flight. The suit of Water or Cups is representative of emotional flow. This isn’t a change in circumstances we’re talking, but a change in feelings.

This is a week to tell yourself “it’s possible” without bothering about the details. It’s a week to set your intention to see what can be. Take a light-hearted approach and consider making a game of it. Show yourself with little things that the energy work is effective and those bigger things will also start to fall in line.

External factors (and other people) are not relevant here. That sorts itself if you stay out of the way. Just line up your own vibe with what you want to see and let the Universe sort the details for you.

Are you feeling it?

If you want a little help figuring it all out, give me a holler for a private consult and I’ll do my best to help you get your energy lined up.

Five of Cups: Now, now, now!

Healing has been on my mind lately, no doubt because I’ve been Facebook ad-targeted for a support group for healers. It would be great targeting if I self-defined as a (tired/ drained/ overwhelmed) healer. I don’t.

I mean, sure, I’ve studied Reiki. I’m attuned. I’ve said prayers and lit candles and flipped cards and sought answers and done all the things that people who traditionally define as healers do. I just don’t see it as a process of rooting out dysfunction from the past and being the mender.

Not intending to criticize how anyone else conceptualizes the process. If excavating the past is what someone wants to do in their time working with me, that’s what we’ll do. I respect each individual’s right to determine what it is they want to look at. That’s your job to decide, not mine.

Nevertheless, I feel the most direct route to improvements come with bringing attention back around to the now and reclaiming personal power within that now. And that’s what we’re looking at for the coming week.

Next Week in Tarot

With all the retrograde astrological activity, there has been plenty of looking backward lately. Time to switch gears…

We have the Five of Cups (or Five of Water) from Osho Zen, along with a big, fat “No” from the Angel Answers cards. *

The short version here is let it go.

The longer version? Don’t try to recreate the past. Likewise, you don’t need to escape it, heal it, change it or understand it. None of this is necessary.

Instead, make peace with the past. Accept whatever your past brought you–good, bad, or indifferent–as an inherent part of the process that helped make your version of now. That’s the real function and gift from the past, always. Every experience goes into the mix of your feelings, beliefs, and preferences NOW.

[bctt tweet=”Your point of power is always NOW. And now, and now, and now. #OnMyRadar” username=”goddess_dix”]

Now is your only point of power. You create and attract and live from smack dab in the middle of your now. There’s no reason to carry hurt or pain forward. Let it go, man. Accept that all is as it should be and you’ll be on your way to feeling greater power, right now.

Armchair Astrology

On the energetic weather of late, here’s a quick update on the retrograde season because there’s been plenty of it!

When a planet is moving backward or retrograde (as envisioned from our perspective on Earth), issues related to that planet’s energy seem to be stalled out, slowed down and otherwise refuse to move forward. Like anytime the energy is not flowing how you’d prefer, you can fight it or flow with it. I’d advise the latter.

  • Mercury went direct August 19! Can I get a “Hallelujah?” Communication issues, electronics weirdness, and travel delays should iron out shortly, with any remaining dust cleaned up by September 2nd, when the planet is effectively out of the rx zone.
  • More good news: Mars is going direct August 27th. Woot! So that trudging through mud feeling, the frustration, passive-aggressive general vibe, and the difficulty making direct progress on any sort of project will ease at the same time.
  • Saturn has been retrograde since mid-April. Saturn will head direct September 6th. Long-term goals and management of responsibilities, especially related to work and parenting (if you are one of those) should start moving forward again.
  • Venus will be going retrograde October 5th – November 16th. This is a great time to review budgets, beauty routines, and decorating choices. If it’s associated with love or money, Venus rx is a good time to take a second look. You’ll see things you don’t ordinarily and make new realizations from looking at existing info.

Ready to move forward again? Let’s get clear with a private consult.

*Regarding the Angel Answers deck: Doreen Virtue is one of the deck’s authors. I bought it for the artwork, which I find stunning. Doreen has had a very public and highly vocal change of heart regarding her spiritual beliefs; she now denounces all divination and Tarot work, including her own past work. I obviously don’t share that perspective. Fortunately, I don’t require Doreen’s blessing to use the decks I like. I’m only interested in my own now. And right now, I think this is a beautiful deck, so I might still use it sometimes…

Choosing My Part: Ten of Wands & Seven of Pentacles

May you live in interesting times. –Unknown

If your wish is to live in “interesting times,” that wish has been amply granted in my book! But “interesting” isn’t necessarily bad. Or good.

I’m sure some would argue that point. And that’s beyond okay. It’s great! Because those arguing are playing the role they’ve chosen. And I get to play the role I’ve chosen. It’s all as it should be.

I’ve been making it a practice for a good, long while now to aim for a less “conditional” life. Meaning, I want to carry my Zen around with me, inside my heart, imprinted upon my soul. I choose to create the calm, centered space within instead of letting it be granted or denied based on what I see when I look out into the world.

Can you see how that’s the only path to freedom, right there?

Of course I have preferences. Sometimes, what I see is upsetting. But there is SO MUCH out there! The world is full of both what I would choose and what I would not. The “would not” list is more likely to make the nightly news but it doesn’t mean it’s more prevalent, statistically speaking. Bad news is not “more true.” It’s just better publicized.

So choosing where I point my attention isn’t denying truth. It’s choosing the truth I want to participate in, via attention. It’s  energetically amplifying what I value. It’s loving what I find lovely instead of hating what I find hateful. There’s certainly room to approach it in others ways, but I know this feels better to me. I have control over ME and my contribution to the collective energy pool. I get to decide what I’m chipping in, here and now. And I want to chip in love.

A long time ago, I decided to make one of my central aims in life to bear no ill will. I may waver here and there, but by and large, I do pretty well in this regard and I’m happy with that. It feels right.  I’m infinitely more comfortable wishing well to anyone and everyone–without taking it upon myself to define what “well” means for that matter–than trying to sort out who deserves my good intentions. I don’t know how anyone got to the place they are at, and I don’t know what will move them forward to another place. I don’t need to know. It’s not my job to know!

It’s my job to be me, the best I can. And you know what? It’s a pretty nice way to live, right there.

I know that evolution happens in the face of friction and upset. I know that beliefs frame perceptions and once beliefs stretch, there is no going back. This is how the Universe expands, you know? So no matter what is going down, all of it is contributing on more levels than we could possibly grasp. All goes to clarify and refine intentions of the collective. So while there are things in this world today I would not choose, I don’t worry about it. I don’t see anything as wrong. It’s change, in progress. The chaos will serve a purpose.

[bctt tweet=”Quantum leaps are born from chaos. Bless it all. #OnMyRadar” via=”no”]

This Week in Tarot

I was less than enthusiastic about seeing “Suppression”–the Osho Zen version of the Ten of Wands. I mean, can you say, “Depressing?” So I drew another card for guidance and on cue, Patience, aka the Seven of Pentacles followed up with some reassurance and ever-applicable advice.

I see the overwhelming burden so many are feeling now, looking around at many events they have no control over. There’s a sense of being unable to move, taking on the weight of so much. It’s heavy and depressing and also? Voluntary. It may not seem voluntary, but it is. These problems become your problems courtesy how you frame it in your head.

Patience speaks to the natural cycle of growth. In the strife now, in the midst of conflict, seeds of tomorrow are planted.

This week, I’m going to continue to let go that which is not mine. I’m going to frame all that I see as part of the natural cycle of life, understanding that no event is a discrete one-and-done, isolated from everything else. It’s all part of the grand dance of life and there’s beauty there, whether I can articulate it or not. I’m going to wish well upon the whole of humanity and I’m going to love as completely as I’m capable of loving. I’m going to decide to see the good and I’m going to find it.  Maybe some of you will join me.

♥ Peace out.

Nine of Cups: Finding Value in Everything

I read an interview with Stephen Colbert, some time ago. And there was a part that really stuck with me.

He ended up as a comedian because of a tragedy. And he says of that, “You’ve got to learn to love the bomb.” The bomb is whatever blew your life up.

You can be grateful for what a bomb gave you, without having wanted it to happen. Those are two different things. They can and do coexist.

It’s Eclipse season, folks. Which you already know, if you’ve not been too “eclisped out” to notice. Big, bold shifts of energy everywhere you look.

And I’m thinking of BIG changes, big shifts. All those big shifts we ride through the years. Some of them are bombs, without question.

How they never turn out to be what you think they are going to be, at the time. How some of the most challenging turn out to define you, help you hone in on who you really want to be, at a depth you’d never found, nor would have been driven to find, outside the experience that spurred it.

And you can’t go back. Not that you’d want to. Not really. But it doesn’t matter, because there is no “back.”

There is only forward. And it’s your choice, what you do with that.

The Nine of Cups is often called “the wish card” and often read as a wish granted (including by me). But today, I want to call it “contentment” instead. And contentment isn’t contingent on any outside condition.

You don’t have to get your wish, to be content. In fact, it has nothing to do with what you have at all, and everything to do with how you’re thinking about it.

[bctt tweet=”Contentment is a perspective, not an outcome. #OnMyRadar” via=”no”]

So many times, people try to refill their spirit from the outside. Who loves me? Who agrees with me? Who reassures me? Who validates me?

When the conditions of my life better, I’ll be better! When I find someone who will give me what I want, I’ll be happy.

Those kinds of refills are only temporary at best, because the hole is constantly recreated by the doubts that spawned the questions. Of course it feels good when other people shine their love on you! And it feels good when you shine your love on them. But the only way for that love to flow freely is if you are shining on yourself, first.

Stay centered, my friends. Don’t worry about what others think of you, because it’s impossible for that to be about you anyway. And how you feel about it is always and only a translation of how you feel about you. All roads lead home, always. Always, always, always. There is no other way it can be.

Whatever bombs you have, do your best to appreciate them. Tap into the best of everything it gave you, through your appreciation and loving energy. And in doing so, you get access to the power of it.

Contentment isn’t a destination. It’s a perspective, and it’s accessed entirely by choice. Choosing what you focus on in any given experience, what vein you tap. It’s all there but you can mine what you choose from it.

Be well.

Purposeful Destruction: Tarot Forecast, Week of 4/10 – 4/16, 2017

I was contemplating, just how much we spend our lives reinventing ourselves. You know? In so many ways, on a day-by-day basis.

We’re children. We’re grade-schoolers. We’re college students or girlfriends or bus drivers or parents or woo-woo folks or, or, or… We’re either victim or victor courtesy of the definition we give our stories.

[bctt tweet=”Our stories help us evolve. Choose wisely.” username=”goddess_dix”]

But some stories no longer work. They were appropriate in their time, but conditions change–the most often, us. We evolve, grow, and that’s a wonderful thing. The awkward and uncomfortable bits can get messy.

It’s easier when you realize what’s going on. This week? It felt like that, to me. Our stories are shifting around. The outside world is not grounded, and there is a definite clearing of the decks.

Full Moon in Libra (4/10). The lights are coming up.

Your job is to reinvent yourself.

Hey! So this last week has been kinda nuts, huh? What are you gonna do?!

I will do my best, though, to see what I can get for you for some Tarot guidance for the week ahead.

Hey, this is Dixie from A Fool’s Journey dot com. I am here with some weekly Tarot for you, for the week of April, what is it? 4th through 10? [No, Dixie, it’s not.] 2017. I hid my cheat sheet.

I have, this week, the Osho Zen deck. Now I prefer to read these guys without reversals because it’s a nontraditional deck and it can get a little sloppy if you start bringing too many things into it. But we’ll take a look anyway.

[1] Ten of Wands, Moon, Hierophant [Advice/Ten of Swords] [2] Death, King of Pentacles [3] Ace of Swords

Ho, ho, ho. Okay. The first thing that I want to say is, we start the week with a sense of being overwhelmed! Like carrying a weight of the world on our shoulders. It’s important that you, you let go a little bit. You wanna realize that being very upset or very worked up about things you have no absolutely no control over is probably not your best plan. But what are you gonna do?

Moving into it, as, as the week progresses, there is a shift of the energy. I do feel like it gets a little bit lighter. But not fluffy. Okay? Absolutely not fluffy. We’ve got Death! But we also have Abundance, which is the King of Pentacles.

Okay, so. Understand that what’s going on, that all of the things that are happening right now are a function of stuff getting rooted out or changed in the world. That Death is associated with Scorpio, Pluto energy, so we’re talking about death and rebirth! Transformation. What’s rotting and icky and old getting rooted out. So, is it a good thing? Well, it’s a necessary thing for life to continue. Does it feel good? Not usually. But what are you gonna do?

Now the outcome of this, um, for the outcome, we have Consciousness. Hmmmmmm.

So the point of all of this is there is a new awareness or a new ability to deal with things that comes through the course of this. Now since this a forecast for the collective, I’m expecting to see this, kind of on a large scale, but also on kind of a more micro scale. So macro, micro. So, whatever feels like it’s just being torn up and uprooted and messed around, something fierce in your life, understand that there’s a reason for it. And you’ll come with a new awareness, and ability, once it’s done.

Okay? Let’s do a take-home message, or a, a advice/overview. Okay.

For that, I’ve got rebirth. Which is, I believe the ten of swords [it is]. No, wait a minute. Yeah, that’s the ten of wands. Eh. Anyway, rebirth.

So, it’s a good time to reinvent yourself.

Now if you follow astrology, you know that several planets are either retrograde or going retrograde. We’ve got Mercury retrograde, starting the 9th, I believe it is? So, there’s going to be a lot of review and looking back and then adjusting and fitting it into current circumstance. Understand that’s kind of a part of what’s going on. Doesn’t mean there’s something wrong.

So this week feels a little heavy to me, but in the big picture, in the bigger, broader view, it’s, I think it’s gonna be a good thing. Although I’m an eternal optimist, so what are you gonna do?

So that’s my forecast for the week. I hope it’s helpful to you. Yay! And if it’s not, maybe next time or maybe somebody else suits you. I don’t know.

Take care. Peace out from the Zen Goddess.

Edge of Something: Eclipse Week Tarot Forecast, Mar 21 – 27

Happy Eclipse.

HAHAHA!

Because, really. When is getting bowled over by the Universe feel “happy”?

But we’re talking Aries/Libra. In the realm of relationships, the me/we axis, man. It’s about the balance. It’s about FAIRNESS. It’s about justice and rightness. Keep yourself righteous, even when it’s hard, and you should come out okay. (Find some more lovely, general eclipse tips at the Astrology Zone.)

Personally, I’m doing alright. I will say that I’m finding myself suddenly revisiting some old situations, that have otherwise seemed to be set in stone. And it’s alright.

The vibe in general is like..the edge of something. Something important.

Lots of people, standing on the EDGE of something.

Even though it’s way not settled and even though I’m not sure how all will fall, I’m sporting an inexplicable faith all’s gonna turn out right in the end, just fine. Just the way it needs to.

I have no idea why I’m so convinced. But I’m not going to try to argue myself out of it.

IMG_5082

I’m seeing this week as wildly fluctuating in terms of emotional tone, totally edgy. Sensitive. Raw and real. That’s not good, not bad. But be aware and build self-care into your plans. Other people are playing a prominent role here with several court cards, and we have a couple majors to emphasize the point–what happens will be around for some time to come. So make it count, folks.

Are you ready?!

Monday,  Flowering, Queen of Pentacles reversed: Coming into our own stride, but not quite there yet. It’s a process, yeah? A process. I expect to see results, although the project as such is still unfinished.

Tuesday, Breakthrough, Justice: It balances in the end. Sometimes, the process isn’t pretty but the end result is worth it. Expect “just rewards” to show up, whatever that may be.

[bctt tweet=”Getting what you deserve can be gift or curse. You get to pick.”]

Wednesday, Success, Six of Wands: A good day! Recognition for successful endeavors and leadership skills. This is a nice one for Eclipse day. Enjoy it!

Thursday, Compromise, Six of Pentacles: It needn’t be all for your desires, or all for your responsibilities. Break it up–time, energy, money. A little for work, a little for fun. A little for me, a little for thee. No winner-take-all here. Look for the win/win and you’ll achieve your ends.

Friday, The Creator, King of Wands reversed: Get in touch with your creative flow today. It mitigates stressors and helps you connect with yourself on a deeper level.

Saturday, Participation, Four of Wands reversed: Decide what you want your participation to be, and pull back from what doesn’t fit with your life, or anything you don’t feel good about.

Sunday, Thunderbolt, The Tower reversed: Some disruption is likely, but the end of the world, it’s not. Don’t mistake it for such. Back off anyone overblowing issues and overreacting, as that crap’s contagious. Deep breath and plan b, to the rescue.

Overview/Advice – Adventure, Page of Pentacles reversed: Don’t be afraid to try something new, but make your risks measured and gradual. Adventure is definitely calling. And it’s fine to answer. It’s great to answer! Just put on your walking boots and check your map, before you go out the door.

Affirmation – Sensitivity, Archangel Haniel: “You are extra-sensitive to energies and emotions right now. Honor yourself and your feelings.” Well, if that doesn’t describe an eclipse week, I don’t know what does! I can’t add much to that. Honoring yourself and your feelings? Always good advice.

How are you doing? Stay safe and sane out there! ♥
