Letting Go of the Strings: Weekly Tarot Forecast, Mar 7 – 13, 2016

We say we trust the Universe. We say we have faith. We read the write books and burn the right candles and share the right inspirational memes.

And often, we set out our intentions aligned with that belief. But then, we don’t release those intentions go, out to do their work.

And how do you know, when you’ve failed to release your intentions?

The questions start in.

“When? HOW? This is impossible. It’s not gonna work. Hurry up, already! Hurry up! Because I am freaking out over here.”

This is a breakdown of faith. Instead of sending it out and letting it happen–knowing we are already supported and get what we need, even if it’s not always what we’d like–that anxiety is like a homing signal, calling back those intentions over and over again.

Setting intentions is like releasing a balloon. To have those intentions supported by Source energy, the balloon must travel up, above and beyond your sight. The magic happens beyond our human field of vision.

But when you attach strings to your intention balloons–the strings of how and when and all the particulars–what “must be” and how it must be in order for you to feel save? Well, that mucks up the fulfillment process. It keeps your balloon near the ground.

It may feel more comfortable to keep your balloon close, here you can check on it every thirty seconds. But I can absolutely promise you, those intentions will never take off as long as you’re fearfully clutching those strings. Faith is the secret ingredient to fulfilling your intentions. It’s required.

[bctt tweet=”Without faith, intentions are no more than worries.”]

IMG_5079

We’ve got an eclipse this week, folks. I’ve actually been feeling it for the last couple, coming in. I’ll let the actual astrologers write about the particulars. But just so you know, the energy out there is powerful, crackling and intense. And that’s neither a good or bad thing, by itself. It’s all in what you do with it. I’d suggest setting your intentions and letting go of the strings.

Monday, Integration, Temperance, reversed: You’re learning, but you don’t have it all figured out, all the way, quite yet. That’s fine! There’s nothing wrong with that. Just keep paying attention and using what you’ve learned thus far. That’s how you make it your own. Use practice to integrate new learning with your existing base of mastered skills. This is solidifying learning by doing.

Tuesday, Experiencing, Three of Wands: Note the progress you’ve made, and what direction it’s leading you. Take what you’ve started and continue to build. Be present.

Wednesday, Innocence, The Sun Reversed: You’ll notice undercurrents–and you may not entirely like those undercurrents. It is what it is, you know? People have mixed and complex motivations. That doesn’t mean someone is bad. Just human.

Thursday, Celebration, Three of Cups: Have a night out (or afternoon in) with dear friends. And for God’s sakes, confide in somebody, okay? Don’t keep all those thoughts in your head or the feelings trapped in your heart. Connection heals.

Friday, The Source, Ace of Wands reversed: I’m seeing this as a smidge of a wet blanket effect. Something (or someone?) raining a bit on the parade. Don’t let small distractions or minor complaints interfere with your enthusiasm. The complaints don’t amount to much. But the enthusiasm does.

Saturday, Mind,  Page of Swords: Ah, this day looks a little anxious. You’re most likely overthinking it, though. Remember that if you can think yourself into a tizzy, you can just as easily think yourself right out of it, too.

Sunday, Trust, Page of Cups reversed: Keep working on keeping that faith. It’s there, but sometimes we talk ourselves out of it. You do what makes sense in your heart and back it up with real-world rational, okay? That’s a solid combination.

Overview/Advice, Ripeness, Nine of Pentacles reversed: Lesson is in progress. Emphasis on the “progress” bit because, hey, we ARE progressing! In terms of advice, this is not the week to be jumping–the gun, to conclusions, or off the deep end! Set your intentions and let go of the string.

Affirmation – Peace, Archangel Chamuel: “Peace comes from remembering that only love is real.” I really do dig this thought even if I have trouble fully believing it sometimes. Putting it into perspective for me–when someone dislikes me, it doesn’t change who I am. It doesn’t make any vitriol aimed my way justified, warranted or somehow “right.” That negative energy isn’t real in the sense it doesn’t speak to me or who I am, any more than jealousy or resentment or any one of the myriad of projections we aim at each other on a daily basis. Such ugly baggage is the work of a limping ego, stabbing out at others to self-medicate fear and inadequacy. That’s not real.

But love? Love comes from recognizing the beauty and humanity in one another. Love is a process of recognizing the divine energy in the other. There’s nothing more real than that.

This week, strive for patience. Patience with yourself, as you learn and integrate under intense and dynamic energy patterns. Patience with others, as they sometimes stumble before they shine as they do the same. Acknowledge progress and look to connect on a heart level. This bolsters faith and allows those intentions to transform from worries to reality.

Except I still cannot promise you it will be on your schedule. Because I haven’t figured out how to get the Universe to do that yet.

Do you set intentions? Do you have some for the Eclipse?

Leveling Up: Weekly Tarot Forecast, Feb 29 – Mar 6

“It’s intense. Not bad necessarily, but very intense.”

She had that deer-in-the-headlights,-what-the-Hell-is-that-supposed-to-mean look.

I was talking about the upcoming eclipses, and how it’s felt since the recent full moon in Virgo.

I wasn’t trying to be scary but, you know. People would prefer sunshine and daffodils.

“Well, you know all these changes you’re going through recently? It’s really hard right now. Stressful. The changes are not bad–they’re for the better in the long run. All of them are good. The work you’re doing now is very hard, but it’s going to a good ends. And it all counts! Next week, you’ll have made a lot of progress from this week.”

She agreed.

“And I’m in the same boat, with my projects. It’s intense. Overwhelming sometimes. But with a purpose and a payoff.”

And this, my friends, is what this next week is about. Might not like the feelings now–most of us might be more than a little tired. But the point of all that effort is firmly intact. And it’s worth it.

We’re in the process of leveling up. That means the stakes are a little higher, and the work is a little harder. But the rewards are also a little sweeter. Like it or not, matters not to the Universe. So do your best and insulate yourself.

Oh, and one more thing? With Eclipse season upon us, what we’re doing now, what we’re working through has IMPACT. So…do your best to do your best, okay? Meaning, don’t cash in your integrity for an apparently easy shortcut or gain.

Do the RIGHT THING, whether you think you’re being watched or not. It always matters, but now? It matters even more than usual. Pressure is high and many situations will intensify to the crux. You want to be above reproach if anything happens to come crashing down in your lap, you know?

March 8 is the first Eclipse and it’s gonna be a doozy. Don’t say I didn’t give y’all a heads up on this…

20160213_171944_HDR

Ah, the cards. I’m seeing evidence of the incoming eclipse and general, highly sensitized astro-weather out there, in next week. I am expecting emotions to be veritably crackling and largely visceral, especially the first part of the week. Thursday through the weekend looks much easier to manage. But Tuesday and Wednesday are high alert days, just so you know.

Monday, Judgement Reversed: Who do you most often blame when something goes wrong? Other people? Yourself? Default patterns are usually less-than-useful. Potential of missing important information due being wedded to a particular narrative. Keep an open mind in anticipation that the story may be quite a bit different than you initially thought.

[bctt tweet=”Whose fault is much less relevant than, ‘what now?’ #tarot”]

Tuesday, Three of Swords: Ow! Sorry, there’s no pretty spin for the Three of Swords. This card shows a loss, and the hurting over that loss. Now, since this is a public forecast, I can certainly wish this feeling is not personal to you! But there’s a good chance, it’s going to be personal to somebody–including maybe somebody you interact with. So step lightly with compassion, and carry tissue. Kindness is the order of the day.

Wednesday, Ten of Swords: Too much! The Ten of Swords shows up when we feel overwhelmed, betrayed, tapped out and back-stabbed. It’s the rock-bottom feeling we’re talking. Although there is a smidge of a bright side with this card–no place to go but up. Schedule extra downtime today and make space in your schedule for self-care. Time to tend to your wounds and get yourself a good night’s sleep. Everything will unquestionably look better in the morning.

Thursday, Six of Wands: Yes! A rebound! Take a deep breath, put on your ass-kicking shoes, and go forth to face the challenges of the day. You have the capacity to conquer them.

Friday, Queen of Wands: Focus and determination in equal mix with passion is the recipe for success. Not bull-headedness…unless it’s something you really need to be bull-headed about. Some issues are worth digging your heels in over, you know? And as always with the Wands Royalty, be sure you’re not being a control-freak all over other people. Only control-freak yourself, man.

Saturday, Page of Cups: A little case of the feels, today. Be kind, and spend time with others who are kind. Loving energy always heals but today? Loving kindness is super-charged. Take advantage.

Sunday, Ace of Swords Reversed: Plans probably won’t go as planned. This is not a huge problem–we’re talking loose plans or early stages here. So lean into your power of flexibility to make up any lost ground. You can save the day with quick thinking.

Overview/Advice – The Magician: To make this week work, attending to your thought processes and focusing on what you DO have control over will be paramount. I find the Magician a very encouraging card in this position, because he reassures me, people will indeed have the magic powers they need to navigate any difficulty successfully. Remember, the gift of the Magician is in channeling the energy sources available to him. He takes the same things everybody else may have it hand, but uses them intentionally. So throughout the week, as you’re allocating your energy, your thoughts, your actions, do so deliberately and intentionally. This will help you sail over any rough patches and come out the other side feeling accomplished.

Affirmation: I am beautiful and everybody loves me. This affirmation always cracks me up. On a surface level, it’s so obviously untrue. I know there are people who do not love me! However, I also know people frequently underestimate how many people do love them. Here’s what I’m thinking, it terms of advice: see your own beauty. Assess yourself as kindly as you would a dear, beloved friend. Only allow people into your inner circle who DO actually love you. I am considering this affirmation not so much a reflection of some sort of objective reality as advice, for creating the reality you would like. Act in accordance with what you find beautiful in yourself. Only do those things in private that you would not be ashamed to have known publically. Only invite kind, loving and loyal people into your world. Don’t give the assholes a vote! You do this, and this affirmation can be true. You just have to decide to make it so.

How are you faring out there?

Accepting the Good: Weekly Tarot, Jan 25 – 31, 2016

A perk of my job as Tarot-slinger is having a heads-up notice on shifts, in the energy trends. I get a pretty good feel for the flavor of incoming vibes.

And right now? It’s shifting. People’s lives are in significant transition. Like the ground is moving around, underneath, but we’re all trying to keep moving forward, lest we fall into a hole!

When I think back, to all the accomplishments I’m most proud of…without exception, every single one of them sucked on the way there. When I lost 100 pounds, when I went back to school, when I got married and became insta-mom, when I presented at industry conferences, when I started my own business(es)…those times and so much more, always the same feelings.

Every single time, I was uncertain and scared and stressed and overwhelmed with the reach required. Every single time, I wondered if I could manage it.

And every single time, I thought to myself, “If I had known before I started…I’m not sure I would have!”

This looks like the week people may be saying that, to themselves.

20160116_180509_HDR

Shifts are very much apparent. Now that makes sense, as Mercury is going direct, and completely leaving his shadow at the start of February. Full speed ahead! We hit a big ol’ Full Moon in Leo the weekend before this forecast starts, which tends towards the dramatic. It doesn’t feel settled yet by a shot, but we are getting the car turned around and back on course. And that’s blessing enough, I think!

One more week for the Housewives Tarot and then I’ll put the ladies up for a while. I know not everybody enjoys this deck is much as I do.

Monday, Page of Cups: Speak from the heart, be very aware of your emotions, and do your best to take care of emotional issues. I do see this as a feely sort of day, although the feelings aren’t necessarily negative. But I think there’s gonna be a fair amount of them, of whatever flavor they are.  So make allowances.

Tuesday, Three of Wands reversed: I’m seeing somebody come in and mess up the room that you just picked up. Like plopping a dirty dish in the sink right after you’ve finished the dishes. Throwing clothes on the floor right away after you put away laundry. Don’t get over-emotional about it. I don’t think it’s intentional. But yeah, I know that’s annoying. Sorry!

Wednesday, Nine of Swords reversed: You worry too much. Potential anxiety or overreaction, feeling kind of alone. If you talk to somebody, particularly somebody who you trust, like an father figure, it won’t necessarily solve everything, but it might help ground you. Just know, anxiety that comes up today is probably not intuition so much as emotional flow, feeling overwhelmed.

Thursday, King of Wands: You can get a lot of stuff done! This is an energetic powerhouse kind of day. A full schedule, plenty of work to do, lots of meetings or appointments, errands, doesn’t matter. Highly productive day. Enjoy it!

Friday, the High Priestess: Here she’s coming in upright. A good day to sit back and watch what happens. Keep your mouth shut. Don’t make any major moves. Listen to your gut, no matter what it says. And simply let life unfold.

Saturday, Six of Cups: Another repeat! If I didn’t know better, I would think I did not shuffle. But I do know better. A great day to participate in an activity you used to enjoy as a child. Being with old friends, playing games, anything that’s reminiscent of your younger years, is especially sweet. I hope you enjoy it.

Sunday, Nine of Cups reversed: Even reversed,  a very sweet card. I see this as not being a perfect day, but a damned good one. Maybe the good news doesn’t come in, but you see an encouraging sign. Like that. It’s an encouraging kind of day. And I’ll take it wherever I can get it.

Overview/advice: Eight of Wands: There is still movement! Things are shifting quickly and it may feel like it’s been up in the air for-ev-er. But the dust has not yet settled, and we’ll  have to wait to let it settle as we go forward. Just know, it’s underway.

Affirmation: In my appreciation, I offer no resistance. This makes me think about people who have trouble accepting compliments. Maybe that’s you. If somebody says, “I love your outfit,” do you argue? Do you tell them that it’s old, it doesn’t look good on you, blah, blah, blah? Well, stop it! Practice just saying, “thank you.” It’s kinder to the complimenter–accepting that verbal gift–as well as kind yourself.

If you have something going right in your life, don’t say, “That’s nice but…it won’t last/it’s not enough/it could be better/this other thing is still messed up/I’ll never make it/etc.” Stop that!

Instead, appreciate it and then put a period at the end of that sentence. Period. Okay? Period. We all have bad that has to be dealt with in life. It’s enough already. But how many of us readily accept the good?  Don’t resist the good.

[bctt tweet=”Accept life’s good without disclaimers. #quotes”]

There are enough worries and pain and difficulty to go around, without  looking for it, let alone trying to morph gifts into crap. Just accept the damn presents already.

How gracefully do you accept the good?

Climb Little Goat: Weekly Tarot Forecast, Jan 11 – 17 , 2016

We’ve got a New Moon in Capricorn (9th) and the Goat vibe is palpable right now.  And this sucker is setting off all kinds of cosmic triggers. There is a definite shifting of gears.

And I’d tell you what this experience is like for me, but don’t know that I can in a comprehensible way. Words seldom fail me, but lately, they’ve felt damned inadequate. And when I try to use my words anyway, well, they often haven’t hit their mark.

The general impression I have, though, is like the past and present and future are all sort of coalescing into a very trippy piece of performance art.

What the Hell, Universe?

tarot forecast 2016

We’ve got a few repeats from last week. My overall impression of the coming week is climb, climb, climb. Keep doing your thing! The appearance of two Knights and two Pages is notable, though. Be on the lookout for both messages, and quick turnarounds of situations (and probably, moods) in the coming week. Keep on task, keep making plans, and take your time executing. One foot in front of the other, little mountain goat.

Monday, Page of Cups reversed: Monday blues? Don’t get hung up on it. If you stay busy, and keep bringing your attention back to task, you be able to get through just fine. Maybe watch a nice movie when you can swing it. Or a bath. Prescription: Bath!

Tuesday, Knight of Pentacles: Keep double checking your facts! Mercury is still retrograde. Detail work pays off. So keep doing it.

Wednesday, Judgment reversed: Not a good day to declare war, or bang down the gavel. Not all  relevant information has come to light. So withhold judgment. Just do your thing. Not all the facts are in, so no jumping to conclusions.

Thursday, Knight of Wands: This would be a great day to go for a run. Be active, make something, cook. It’s a physical day. So it drives any physical tasks that you have. Stay focused, creative. And try to engage your passion somehow during the day. Your fire burns bright, so make use of it.

Friday, Three of Pentacles: You can pull everything together today. Like a master project planner. All the little bits and pieces are a lot more clear today. Yes obviously, Mercury is still retrograde, so not all is fine and dandy in terms of executing new plans. But you sure can work on them and review them. And Friday would be a very productive day to do that.

Saturday, Six of Wands reversed: Yes, you can get some stuff done today. But it’s not gonna be as much as you planned or wanted to. If you can accept that going in, you’re gonna be much happier with the results.

Sunday, Page of Swords: Words have power today. Even messages that you didn’t necessarily think somebody was gonna get, will probably come through clearly. Potential for bluntness, so be aware of the emotional impact. But strong communications happening today.

Overview/advice, the Fool reversed: Take your time! There is no great rush to hop right in. It’s like the  an artificial sense of urgency is coming and going throughout the course of the week. You don’t need to jump on anything before you feel competent to do so. If you jump the gun, you have the potential for regrets and some type of loss. To take your time making your determinations. Yes, you will get started. Eventually. But don’t rush it.

Affirmation: We are all co-creators within a diverse universe. Everything that happens in your life becomes a part of you: you have a piece of the experience, and the experience has a piece of you entwined. So often, we tend to think that everything is all about us, or not at all about us. And it’s neither, really.  We don’t have full creative license to decide what sort of obstacles we face, but we do have the ability to write our own parts to a large extent.

Write a part you can be proud of, the way you handled yourself and your challenges.

[bctt tweet=”If all else fails, keep climbing little goat. #Capricorn #NewMoon”]

Keynote Speech: Weekly Tarot, Jan 4 – 10

I remember the week before school would start every year. It was one of my favorite parts of the summer, oddly enough. Getting all those school supplies lined up, marked with my name. Virgin paints, new crayons, colored pencils. Paper and pencil holders and notebooks, each so full of possibilities.

Yes, I like office supplies.

But this week? It reminds me a little of this. We’re starting off a new year. And whether you loved 2015 or could not wait to kick it to the curb, fresh starts can be helpful. We’ve got clean notebooks and fresh pens. Let’s write in some good stuff, shall we?

To start the new year off with a little bit of fun, I thought I would use the lovely Housewives Tarot. I haven’t had this deck out the while, and I really do enjoy it. So let’s see what the ladies have to say.

IMG_4856 - Copy

We have a lot of Pentacles and a lot of Cups this week. So what you’re doing, real-world manifestations are important, all while tracking your emotional flow. It looks like some time of organizing and reprioritizing. A great week to be working on your planner for the year!

Also notice the Eights we have to begin the week? Routine and schedule gets along very well with Tarot Eights. Build some continuity into your week and maintain a routine if you can. It will help.

Basically, we’re looking to find our groove this week. Think of it as the year’s keynote speech, looking to set the tone.

Monday, Eight of Pentacles: Just keep focused on your work, and do the best you can. Nothing out-of-the-ordinary demanding attention. Just do your job. That’s all you need to do today.

Tuesday, Eight of Cups: Tuesday is a little trickier. There’s a potential to be overstimulated, hopped up like you’ve had too many lattes. Decide what’s worth your energy and what’s not a good use of your vital life force. You can pick what you take in here, metaphorically consume. Just eat the tasty bits. And lay off the coffee! Also? Mercury retrograde official, settling in.

Wednesday, Seven of Pentacles reversed: A great day to consider what fits into your long-term plans and what does not. Everything is up for reevaluation. Mercury will force review if you don’t volunteer for the job first. Some adjustments to be made, but they are ultimately useful.  It’s instructive (if sometimes annoying) to see what needs to be realigned.

Thursday, Page of Cups reversed: Possibility of mood swings or childish outbursts. If some of the sloshes on you, realize it’s not about you–as if it ever is. As far as dealing with it, I distinctly advise against feeling sorry for yourself; just keep moving along. These are not the mood swings we are looking for, oh Jedi Grasshopper.

Friday, Nine of Pentacles: A good day for detail work, cleaning up, getting things in order to finish off the work week prepped and ready to go next week. Focus looks good, coupled with a solid attention span. Another day to do your job! Go forth and kick some ass.

Saturday, Temperance: Here you can take those little lists you compiled through the week (be they mental or literal) and prioritize them according to your master list. What do you really want? The week is largely been about details in small things. Saturday, you look at the bigger picture, and how everything fits together. Compromises can be achieved today. Or integrating lessons from the week. A good day for reflection.

Sunday, Magician reversed: Matters may arise that are now out of your hands. Know that the situation is basically stable, even if  you have some anxiety over it. So don’t rush to judgment: don’t declare winners or losers. Just keep communicating, keep doing your thing.

Overview/Advice, Six of Cups reversed: Throughout the week in all decisions involving others, ask “What’s in it for them?” I’m not saying someone is trying to snow ya here. Just that the information is relevant.

Affirmation: Why does my saying ‘no’ to it means saying ‘yes’ to it? Now this is a law of attraction idea,  whenever you give your  emotional energy to becomes included in your life. But even if you’re not thinking all law of attraction, it makes sense. If you constantly think about a certain topic it becomes part of your experience, whether it happens in the physical sense, or just vividly trollops through your imagination on loop.

You know the phrase, “I should charge them rent for living in my head?” It’s the same idea.

This week gives us opportunities to direct our day-to-day experience. More forcefully, by choosing what we want in it. By choosing the people and the emotions and the activities, that we want and deliver attention to, we are steering the boat.

[bctt tweet=”Extra Attention = A vote for that flavor of experience. “]

When you find yourself aware of what you’re thinking about, that can become an opportunity to cast another vote. Sometimes people will say, “vote with your feet.” I’m saying, vote with your head!

Remember – this is the year’s keynote speech. Stay on topic and on schedule. Ha!

Are you falling into the flow?

Heart and Brain: Weekly Flow Tarot, Aug. 30 – Sept. 5, 2015

When my kids were little and getting in trouble for something, I integrated praise or even jokes into those talks, at least as much as I could manage. The point was remaining emotionally engaged with them throughout. I wanted them to know I loved them, I still saw them as good kids, even when I wasn’t remotely pleased with specific behavior. This week’s energy reminded me of that…you need to exercise both heart and brain to be successful.

IMG_4441

I look at this layout, and I see making rational choices despite emotional pulls, doing what makes sense. It calls for maintaining an awareness of and respect for feelings without letting them run the show entirely, you know? I see the potential for tough love, but even more, a decision to work through challenges and continuing to behave in a loving way, while still doing what needs to be done. The mix of Swords and Cups is very suggestive of a parent lovingly (but very clearly) correcting a child, or someone having a heart-to-heart (aka “Come to Jesus”) talk with someone. I’m not saying those types of scenarios are inevitable, but I’m seeing that as one way this could express. Saying what needs to be said in a loving way, as opposed to what’s easiest to say, or avoidance.

Monday – King of Swords: Rationality for the win, especially in the world at large. Do what needs to be done–no more, but no less, in terms of having expectations. The King of Swords is fair always, but never a pushover. He doesn’t demand so much as he expects. Follow through is a good idea, as is approaching ever question from a rational, thoughtful platform.

Tuesday – The Lovers: Choose to be kind. Choose to see the good in people, wherever and whenever you can.

Wednesday – Queen of Swords: Another opportunity to make clear, rational decisions. This time, it’s more directed at home/dixiblog/domains/afoolsjourney.com/public_html, starting with the mirror and working your way out. The Queen of Swords always suggests prioritizing to me. She has a laser focus so even when she does multitask, she can always tell you what is top of the list. This approach will serve you well.

Thursday – Page of Cups: Say what’s in your heart. Be honest, even if it feels a little vulnerable.

Friday – Eight of Swords Reversed: Opportunity for a leap ahead or significant progress, if you’re willing to overcome fear to do it.

Saturday – Eight of Cups Reversed: Don’t leave everything behind. Just what doesn’t work for you anymore, what you’ve legitimately outgrown.  There is a baby in the bathwater, you know? Fish out the baby.

Sunday – Eight of Pentacles: Keep working away at what you’ve been doing all week. Stay the course and hey, get your chores done before the next week begins! It looks busy, next week.

Overview/Advice – Nine of Pentacles: Thor Kitten is helping by pointing this one out to us as important. Use what you’ve learned! You have the skills and understanding you need here. Any stress that comes up this week, look to approach using what you’ve already learned, and with a refined sense of class. “Grace” would make an excellent keyword to keep in mind.

Affirmation: Azure – Protect Yourself. This affirmation and picture suggests clarity. You have something you need to say? Say it certainly, but stick to the point. You have something that’s not working in your process? Cut it off, as soon as you see it’s a problem. Don’t wait. Boundaries are your friends. Know what you can and cannot do my friends, and commit to only that in the former category.

[bctt tweet=”Be as kind as you can without sacrificing the message. #tarot #forecast”]

This is not a comfortable week for pushovers or procrastinators! Those that stay on task, on point, and are kind but fair–including fair to themselves–fare best.
