Climb Little Goat: Weekly Tarot Forecast, Jan 11 – 17 , 2016

We’ve got a New Moon in Capricorn (9th) and the Goat vibe is palpable right now.  And this sucker is setting off all kinds of cosmic triggers. There is a definite shifting of gears.

And I’d tell you what this experience is like for me, but don’t know that I can in a comprehensible way. Words seldom fail me, but lately, they’ve felt damned inadequate. And when I try to use my words anyway, well, they often haven’t hit their mark.

The general impression I have, though, is like the past and present and future are all sort of coalescing into a very trippy piece of performance art.

What the Hell, Universe?

tarot forecast 2016

We’ve got a few repeats from last week. My overall impression of the coming week is climb, climb, climb. Keep doing your thing! The appearance of two Knights and two Pages is notable, though. Be on the lookout for both messages, and quick turnarounds of situations (and probably, moods) in the coming week. Keep on task, keep making plans, and take your time executing. One foot in front of the other, little mountain goat.

Monday, Page of Cups reversed: Monday blues? Don’t get hung up on it. If you stay busy, and keep bringing your attention back to task, you be able to get through just fine. Maybe watch a nice movie when you can swing it. Or a bath. Prescription: Bath!

Tuesday, Knight of Pentacles: Keep double checking your facts! Mercury is still retrograde. Detail work pays off. So keep doing it.

Wednesday, Judgment reversed: Not a good day to declare war, or bang down the gavel. Not all  relevant information has come to light. So withhold judgment. Just do your thing. Not all the facts are in, so no jumping to conclusions.

Thursday, Knight of Wands: This would be a great day to go for a run. Be active, make something, cook. It’s a physical day. So it drives any physical tasks that you have. Stay focused, creative. And try to engage your passion somehow during the day. Your fire burns bright, so make use of it.

Friday, Three of Pentacles: You can pull everything together today. Like a master project planner. All the little bits and pieces are a lot more clear today. Yes obviously, Mercury is still retrograde, so not all is fine and dandy in terms of executing new plans. But you sure can work on them and review them. And Friday would be a very productive day to do that.

Saturday, Six of Wands reversed: Yes, you can get some stuff done today. But it’s not gonna be as much as you planned or wanted to. If you can accept that going in, you’re gonna be much happier with the results.

Sunday, Page of Swords: Words have power today. Even messages that you didn’t necessarily think somebody was gonna get, will probably come through clearly. Potential for bluntness, so be aware of the emotional impact. But strong communications happening today.

Overview/advice, the Fool reversed: Take your time! There is no great rush to hop right in. It’s like the  an artificial sense of urgency is coming and going throughout the course of the week. You don’t need to jump on anything before you feel competent to do so. If you jump the gun, you have the potential for regrets and some type of loss. To take your time making your determinations. Yes, you will get started. Eventually. But don’t rush it.

Affirmation: We are all co-creators within a diverse universe. Everything that happens in your life becomes a part of you: you have a piece of the experience, and the experience has a piece of you entwined. So often, we tend to think that everything is all about us, or not at all about us. And it’s neither, really.  We don’t have full creative license to decide what sort of obstacles we face, but we do have the ability to write our own parts to a large extent.

Write a part you can be proud of, the way you handled yourself and your challenges.

Keynote Speech: Weekly Tarot, Jan 4 – 10

I remember the week before school would start every year. It was one of my favorite parts of the summer, oddly enough. Getting all those school supplies lined up, marked with my name. Virgin paints, new crayons, colored pencils. Paper and pencil holders and notebooks, each so full of possibilities.

Yes, I like office supplies.

But this week? It reminds me a little of this. We’re starting off a new year. And whether you loved 2015 or could not wait to kick it to the curb, fresh starts can be helpful. We’ve got clean notebooks and fresh pens. Let’s write in some good stuff, shall we?

To start the new year off with a little bit of fun, I thought I would use the lovely Housewives Tarot. I haven’t had this deck out the while, and I really do enjoy it. So let’s see what the ladies have to say.

IMG_4856 - Copy

We have a lot of Pentacles and a lot of Cups this week. So what you’re doing, real-world manifestations are important, all while tracking your emotional flow. It looks like some time of organizing and reprioritizing. A great week to be working on your planner for the year!

Also notice the Eights we have to begin the week? Routine and schedule gets along very well with Tarot Eights. Build some continuity into your week and maintain a routine if you can. It will help.

Basically, we’re looking to find our groove this week. Think of it as the year’s keynote speech, looking to set the tone.

Monday, Eight of Pentacles: Just keep focused on your work, and do the best you can. Nothing out-of-the-ordinary demanding attention. Just do your job. That’s all you need to do today.

Tuesday, Eight of Cups: Tuesday is a little trickier. There’s a potential to be overstimulated, hopped up like you’ve had too many lattes. Decide what’s worth your energy and what’s not a good use of your vital life force. You can pick what you take in here, metaphorically consume. Just eat the tasty bits. And lay off the coffee! Also? Mercury retrograde official, settling in.

Wednesday, Seven of Pentacles reversed: A great day to consider what fits into your long-term plans and what does not. Everything is up for reevaluation. Mercury will force review if you don’t volunteer for the job first. Some adjustments to be made, but they are ultimately useful.  It’s instructive (if sometimes annoying) to see what needs to be realigned.

Thursday, Page of Cups reversed: Possibility of mood swings or childish outbursts. If some of the sloshes on you, realize it’s not about you–as if it ever is. As far as dealing with it, I distinctly advise against feeling sorry for yourself; just keep moving along. These are not the mood swings we are looking for, oh Jedi Grasshopper.

Friday, Nine of Pentacles: A good day for detail work, cleaning up, getting things in order to finish off the work week prepped and ready to go next week. Focus looks good, coupled with a solid attention span. Another day to do your job! Go forth and kick some ass.

Saturday, Temperance: Here you can take those little lists you compiled through the week (be they mental or literal) and prioritize them according to your master list. What do you really want? The week is largely been about details in small things. Saturday, you look at the bigger picture, and how everything fits together. Compromises can be achieved today. Or integrating lessons from the week. A good day for reflection.

Sunday, Magician reversed: Matters may arise that are now out of your hands. Know that the situation is basically stable, even if  you have some anxiety over it. So don’t rush to judgment: don’t declare winners or losers. Just keep communicating, keep doing your thing.

Overview/Advice, Six of Cups reversed: Throughout the week in all decisions involving others, ask “What’s in it for them?” I’m not saying someone is trying to snow ya here. Just that the information is relevant.

Affirmation: Why does my saying ‘no’ to it means saying ‘yes’ to it? Now this is a law of attraction idea,  whenever you give your  emotional energy to becomes included in your life. But even if you’re not thinking all law of attraction, it makes sense. If you constantly think about a certain topic it becomes part of your experience, whether it happens in the physical sense, or just vividly trollops through your imagination on loop.

You know the phrase, “I should charge them rent for living in my head?” It’s the same idea.

This week gives us opportunities to direct our day-to-day experience. More forcefully, by choosing what we want in it. By choosing the people and the emotions and the activities, that we want and deliver attention to, we are steering the boat.

[bctt tweet=”Extra Attention = A vote for that flavor of experience. “]

When you find yourself aware of what you’re thinking about, that can become an opportunity to cast another vote. Sometimes people will say, “vote with your feet.” I’m saying, vote with your head!

Remember – this is the year’s keynote speech. Stay on topic and on schedule. Ha!

Are you falling into the flow?

Heart and Brain: Weekly Flow Tarot, Aug. 30 – Sept. 5, 2015

When my kids were little and getting in trouble for something, I integrated praise or even jokes into those talks, at least as much as I could manage. The point was remaining emotionally engaged with them throughout. I wanted them to know I loved them, I still saw them as good kids, even when I wasn’t remotely pleased with specific behavior. This week’s energy reminded me of that…you need to exercise both heart and brain to be successful.

IMG_4441

I look at this layout, and I see making rational choices despite emotional pulls, doing what makes sense. It calls for maintaining an awareness of and respect for feelings without letting them run the show entirely, you know? I see the potential for tough love, but even more, a decision to work through challenges and continuing to behave in a loving way, while still doing what needs to be done. The mix of Swords and Cups is very suggestive of a parent lovingly (but very clearly) correcting a child, or someone having a heart-to-heart (aka “Come to Jesus”) talk with someone. I’m not saying those types of scenarios are inevitable, but I’m seeing that as one way this could express. Saying what needs to be said in a loving way, as opposed to what’s easiest to say, or avoidance.

Monday – King of Swords: Rationality for the win, especially in the world at large. Do what needs to be done–no more, but no less, in terms of having expectations. The King of Swords is fair always, but never a pushover. He doesn’t demand so much as he expects. Follow through is a good idea, as is approaching ever question from a rational, thoughtful platform.

Tuesday – The Lovers: Choose to be kind. Choose to see the good in people, wherever and whenever you can.

Wednesday – Queen of Swords: Another opportunity to make clear, rational decisions. This time, it’s more directed at home, starting with the mirror and working your way out. The Queen of Swords always suggests prioritizing to me. She has a laser focus so even when she does multitask, she can always tell you what is top of the list. This approach will serve you well.

Thursday – Page of Cups: Say what’s in your heart. Be honest, even if it feels a little vulnerable.

Friday – Eight of Swords Reversed: Opportunity for a leap ahead or significant progress, if you’re willing to overcome fear to do it.

Saturday – Eight of Cups Reversed: Don’t leave everything behind. Just what doesn’t work for you anymore, what you’ve legitimately outgrown.  There is a baby in the bathwater, you know? Fish out the baby.

Sunday – Eight of Pentacles: Keep working away at what you’ve been doing all week. Stay the course and hey, get your chores done before the next week begins! It looks busy, next week.

Overview/Advice – Nine of Pentacles: Thor Kitten is helping by pointing this one out to us as important. Use what you’ve learned! You have the skills and understanding you need here. Any stress that comes up this week, look to approach using what you’ve already learned, and with a refined sense of class. “Grace” would make an excellent keyword to keep in mind.

Affirmation: Azure – Protect Yourself. This affirmation and picture suggests clarity. You have something you need to say? Say it certainly, but stick to the point. You have something that’s not working in your process? Cut it off, as soon as you see it’s a problem. Don’t wait. Boundaries are your friends. Know what you can and cannot do my friends, and commit to only that in the former category.

[bctt tweet=”Be as kind as you can without sacrificing the message. #tarot #forecast”]

This is not a comfortable week for pushovers or procrastinators! Those that stay on task, on point, and are kind but fair–including fair to themselves–fare best.

Being You: Tarot Forecast, August 24 – 30, 2015

I am very, very blessed to be around people who love and accept me as I am. Of course, that didn’t happen in a vacuum. I had to actually BE who I am, not hide it, in order to find it. And it didn’t happen overnight. It took me a long time, even to work up the courage to admit to me who I was in many regards. Recognizing what’s you and what’s not, finding those bits and pieces of your soul that you’ve maybe lost track of? That’s on my radar at the moment and it’s in this week’s forecast, too.

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment. –Ralph Waldo Emerson

All journeys are ultimately personal ones. We may walk hand in hand with another. We may have friends and companions, cheering us on (or not so much, unfortunately). But we each own our own life, and all paths are singular in that regard.

August 24 - 30 Forecast

This week features all the Tarot suits, so we’re running the gamut of energy flavors–but the cards are all Minor Arcana. That suggests to me that any challenges we face are more likely to be of the day-to-day variety than the life-changing-forever variety. So if you’re having a rough go, you may want to give it the 5-year test: “How much will this moment matter in five years?” Follow that up with, “What’s truest to myself?” Keep it in perspective.

Monday, Emotional Loss – Turning In, Four of Cups: Today has “bittersweet” written all over it. I’m getting a very melancholy, moody sensation around the day. Take a few minutes to tune inward, and just let whatever feelings are there, be there. Don’t grasp or push. Just let them be present,, feel them and allow them wash through you. Some challenges are not mastered through fighting–but through yielding. Turn up the Yin.

Tuesday, Harmony (Base and Throat Chakras) – The Outsider, Five of Pentacles reversed: Unpopular opinion? Out of step with those around you and feeling insecure over it? That’s what we’ve got, although with the card reversed, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say you’re not as far removed from your community as it may appear. Be secure in speaking your truth you’re likely find others thinking the same thing. They just weren’t brave enough to say so.

Wednesday, The Waiting Game – Fighting, Knight of Swords: Potential for conflicts born out of impatience and anxiety. Thoughts and mental activities drive the conflict so if you’d like to reduce the ouch factor, look for a perspective shift. Expect to be subject to impatience and some critical remarks that are SO not about you. (After all, if they were really about you, could you have read about them in a Tarot forecast?!)

Thursday, New Beginnings – Guidance, Three of Pentacles: Ah, this is a delight to see! Creative flow is on tap, along with a healthy stream of Divine inspiration. You know the drill: meditation, quiet time in nature and prayer are ways to access that stream of awesome. Look for this energy plug-in for an infusion of brilliance wherever you are seeking a fresh start. Go get you some!

Friday, Love Begins – Understanding, Page of Cups: In dealings with loved ones and inner circle, focus on your love first. As in, before you try to figure something out, before you try to work out any conflict, focus on the love. Great night for a date, if you’re into that sort of thing. Also good money day potential.

Saturday, Stand Your Ground – Success, Six of Wands: Pretty clear, no? Stick to your guns and so long as your cause is righteous, the outcome is good. Woot!

Sunday, Conflict and Defeat – Moment to Moment, Two of Pentacles: You win some, you lose some. Be gracious whichever side of the equation you are on and deal with just right now, what’s on your plate to be addressed at the moment. Generosity is in order.

Overview/Advice, Victory & Success – Experiencing, Three of Wands reversed: Yes, I know. This week (or this life?) hasn’t gone as planned. But you wanna make something good out of it anyway? BE PRESENT. Be there, completely. Don’t zone out of full consciousness when it’s hard or the lessons tastes a little bitter or life gets a little heavy. Stay present. This is how you “win” at life. And here? Winning means getting as much out of it as you can. Don’t wait until something big forces perspective on you. Foster perspective now by staying present.

Affirmation: I trust my inner wisdom. Part of being present is attending to those little feelings, that quiet little voice inside us. Here’s a note: the more you attend to it, the louder it gets. It takes some dedication to be able to tell the difference between inner wisdom and plain ol’ mind. But there are ways to distinguish. The first way is working on quieting mind. Mind never shuts up–or at least, mine doesn’t like to shut up. The second way is feeling checks–inner wisdom often gives you a “click” or “that’s true” feeling, inside. A mini aha moment, a knowing.

Break up and Date up: Weekly Tarot Flow, April 6 -12

Weekly Tarot April 6, 2015

This week reads like a breakup, but the week ends with a new date. Like in real life, the new date doesn’t tend to show up until after the breakup. So bear that in mind if you’ve got some letting go to do.

Looking over this combination as a whole, it speaks of fresh starts. Not a shock coming after an eclipse/full moon, a huge time of release. You have to let go of the reality you have to make room for a new one, y’know. Monday and Tuesday, there’s an burgeoning awareness of emotional complications. Wednesday is cutting free day. Thursday and Friday allow for regrouping and reconnecting with your people. And the weekend is positioning to begin anew. Very poetic! Passions appear to be an overall theme to the coming week, so keep an eye on yours, m’kay?

Monday, Fertility –  Page of Cups: Whatever happens today is born of (and in) the heart. I’m expected it to be an emotionally sensitive day, as the Page of Cups isn’t known for thick skin. But there is a point to the touchy-feelies here. In particular, do gut-checks to identify feelings, Don’t ask yourself what makes sense, ask yourself how you FEEL about what’s going on. That is going to give you a lot more information. And if your feelings aren’t quite what you expect? Examining your emotions is a fruitful activity today.

Tuesday, Passion Ignited –  Five of Swords reversed: What is worth fighting for? Because if you know that, you also know what is NOT worth fighting for. Both are quite valuable tidbits. Of course different people have different convictions and different passions. But we don’t choose what everybody else does or feels. We only direct ourselves.

Wednesday, Emotional Withdrawal –  Three of Swords: Today virtually screams LET IT GO! Seriously. Step back and you know, if there is sadness there, allow it. Take some time to yourself and allow that distance.

Thursday, Intuition –  Knight of Pentacles: Act on your instincts, intuitions and “funny little feelings” in the real world. Make physical, concrete decisions and take real-world action on those little sparks of divine insight today.

Friday, Spiritual Union –  Three of Cups: Spend time connecting with your people. There’s no replacement for love, one of the most healing powers in the universe.

Saturday, Awareness –  Ten of Pentacles: Taking charge of your own life pays off in both tangible and intangible ways. You CAN do this!

Sunday, New Beginnings –  The Moon reversed: Opportunity to start over with more honesty, less crazy. You’re in, right?

Overview/Advice –  Knight of Wands: You’re going to live what you build. Why accept what life defaults you? Put your heart into living this week. It will help you stay true, know what’s real, and decide what’s next.

Affirmation: Lilac –  Strengthen your faith. Just because you don’t know every step from A to B doesn’t mean you’ll never get to B. Oh ye of little faith, cultivate some. You’ve made it this far, right? It’s fine to ask for direction and guidance. Just don’t expect your decisions to be made for you, because that’s not how things work. You make the call and ask for backup support for the capital-U Universe. It will come.

Over Budget: Weekly Flow Tarot, March 16 – 22

As I write this week’s column, I’m thinking of (or maybe avoiding) looking up the metaphysical cause of allergies. My eyes are a little swollen, but I’ve put off the allergy meds for a bit because I wanted to finish writing without feeling drunk.

Somehow, that seems to fit this forecast. Blind or drunk, take your pick. Either way, my energy is over budget. :)

Look for a week in which there is an active supportive cast: we’ve got 4 court cards showing up. And it will be especially important to pay attention to your health in everyday ways, because there’s a real potential for getting run down and strung out if you don’t stay on top of it. That having been said, if you can balance out the stress with some recreation, it will help a lot.

Monday, Relationship –  Reversed Knight of Pentacles: May be a tendency to nitpick or criticize. Which, you can totally control this! Especially if you know. Don’t take it personally if it feels like someone is picking on you, and don’t unnecessarily pick on someone else. Use your powers of discrimination for good, not evil!

Tuesday, Coworkers –  Page of Cups: Aw, that’s nice! Looks like the people you team up with for tasks are supportive and helpful. There’s comfort in working together, so take any opportunities that crop up to connect with others on a project. There’s a general sense of emotional understanding in business contacts today.

Wednesday, Disappointment –  King of Pentacles: Gosh, that version of the King of Pentacles looks kinda lazy, doesn’t he? One of the downsides of this King is that he can get overly caught up in creature comforts, and sometimes miss the trees and the forest both! The disappointment here has the possibility of being related to laziness or self-involvement. I don’t know whose, but maybe you do!

Thursday, Partner –  The Emperor reversed: I totally would avoid handing out orders and edicts today. Do you really want to see if they are followed? Look more for cooperative approaches and try to reach consensus with your spouse, loved one or partner in crime for the best result today.

Friday, Clarification –  Reversed Ten of Wands: Have you (or someone around you) been running on overwhelm? Who has been trying to carry way too much? This explains the earlier part of the week in my mind. Over booking and never saying “no” catches up eventually. Today may well be “eventually.”

Saturday, Health –  Ten of Swords: Ow! Not what I’d prefer to see in the “Health” position. Okay, well, anywhere. But this is a logical follow up to yesterday. We are also in the Tarot tens, which means we’re at the end of this run. So take some encouragement from that. Rest and rejuvenate if you can. Acknowledge if you’re feeling run down and worn out. We’re talking either physically or emotionally as well. Take some vitamins and turn in early if that’s an option. Don’t push too hard.

Sunday, Negative Influences –  Two of Swords reversed: The problem is, the decision has not been made. Are you trying to hedge your bets, perhaps? Commit and commence. If it doesn’t work out, you’ll recover but at least you won’t regret missed opportunities and wasted time. Realize the hem-hawing, noncommittal approach has costs.

Overview/Advice –  Reversed Queen of Pentacles: Don’t invite the whole neighborhood to dinner. Just invite the people you really like—and the ones who actually “feed” you, too. This is the approach I’d suggest all week. Commit firmly, but not indiscriminately. You know? Calculate the costs before saying “yes” and you’ll be better able to avoid over-budgeting.

Affirmation: Play. Ah, what an lovely affirmation! There is plenty of work and responsibility showing up for this week, with worries and careful management required to navigate. So the perfect response to that is balancing out the week with some fun. You don’t need me to tell you twice, right?

Have you been feeling your energy is over budget?
