Page of Swords and King of Wands: Living Out Loud

Still letting my head clear from the last eclipse cycle. With the planets in play, themes around parenting were especially loud. There were lots of stories I saw play out, but bigger themes weaved in and out of all of them.

How do you connect with people emotionally? What does family mean? What ways do we support and encourage others? How are we supported and encouraged? More basically, how do we give and receive love?

The way parenting impacts an individual isn’t dictated by the specifics of their experience. Hard experiences can either close a heart or open it.

And operating from a loving space for one person can feel like giving love to everyone.

I expect similar themes to continue for a spell and the cards seem to agree. (I always like when that happens.)

Next Week in Tarot

So for outlook, we have the Page of Swords and advice is the King of Wands from the Crystal Visions Tarot. Look familiar? Because last week I got the same cards but in reverse order. I shuffle, but the cards do what they want to do. So we’re essentially looking at a continuation of the energy in play last week.

The Page suggests communication will be a notable theme. This kid is a messenger! So listen. Both what’s said and what’s not said can relay information. In particular, any bargains struck will highlight what is most important to folks even if they’re not talking about it directly.

The advice is super simple here, though. Act in sync with what you know in your heart to be right. This isn’t about emotion, although we’ll have some. It’s more about seeing to it that all you do feels truest to who you are. Next week, live out the person you want to be.

Come to think of it, that’s never a bad idea, huh?

So next week, listen for sure. There will be food for thought in what you hear. And live out loud, the truest YOU that you can do.

Are you seeing the parenting themes out there?

King of Wands & Page of Swords: Process vs. Event

Has the last week been weird for you?

I’m feeling the weird.

Not that I equate “weird” with “bad” necessarily, in any context. I’d be a self-hating pink-haired hippie chick otherwise!

But you know. Weird is what it is. Weird.

Sort of like seeing the world through different glasses. Revisiting intense memories, but perceiving them from a much different vantage point. Re-writing a story in the narrator’s voice, long after having lived it once as one of the characters.

This “weird” is more a shift of perspective than actual circumstance.

If this is where you are: just let it roll through. Let the realizations click into place as the process unfolds. What else can you realistically do with it,  after all? In the end, you’ll come out with a different (read: broader) perspective. A more complete perspective is always a good thing.

And of course, this vibe is utterly in line with next week’s Tarot forecast. Go figure…

Next Week in the Cards

This week’s outlook is the King of Wands, with advice from the Page of Swords–both from the delightfully colorful Crystal Visions Tarot deck.

I’m expecting the coming week to be well-punctuated with grand (grandiose?) and dramatic gestures, intended to come across as bold and decisive. Final, even. Big moves! The King of Wands has a flair for this sort of performance–he’s King of the Fire suit, after all. He means what he does here. While he isn’t particularly prone to lying, actions definitely speak louder than words with this guy. What people DO will largely tell their stories next week, much more so than what they say. Be aware of this dynamic not only for others, but also when looking in the mirror.

The advice for us is coming from a Page, so I probably wouldn’t join team “Dramatic Gesture” just yet. Pages are the beginning, the seed of creation as opposed to the final iteration. A page will have a more cautious approach than a King and in the suit of Swords, it’s going to be a well thought out approach as well.

Get your ideas and understanding clear, first and foremost. Examine the underlying structure of any situations you wish to influence. More importantly, understand how your own thinking impacts conclusions. This page would encourage a degree of emotional detachment for clarity. You may end up making an agreement–this Page sometimes announces specific contracts or agreements–and if you do, whether  verbal or written, be sure you honor whatever you agree upon. Stay true to your word.

Basically, next week some will be some trying to skip right to the end of the book and act it out. There is a desire for putting issues to bed. Don’t be surprised to see dramatic action intended to resolve something “once and for all.” There will be attempts to orchestrate events, essentially, in a desire to resolve something or other.

I’m suggesting you take a different tack: lean into the processes and reach for clarity instead of “hail Mary” type plays. Look to stabilize yourself in the context of the greater picture and allow your thoughts to clear. Negotiate if needed and take a step back from the urge to make things happen immediately. Instead of looking big picture, reach for the next, most sensible step.

Be process-oriented and let the final events sort themselves on their own schedule. They will, just like they always do.

Are you feeling the weird? How you doing with it?

Ace of Swords Rx & Page of Swords: Get Clear

Sometimes when I listen to people, I could swear they are watching completely different movies about the same subject. At least, that’s how Captain Virgo describes it. The conclusions that are derived from the exact same stimulus are just polar opposites at times. It’s a very weird time overall in that regard.

To one degree or another, maybe this is always the case. But the phenomena is a lot more dramatic now than I remember it being in the past. I personally suspect this is a predictable byproduct of  significant social change.  While it can be messy, there’s no avoiding it. Change is the only constant.

On the one hand, it often saddens me to see how disruptive this can be at times. The ferocity of judgement against those watching “that other movie” is disconcerting. But on the other hand, I respect the passion that’s underlying much of what goes on. I guess evolution is just messy sometimes.

Next week is looking a lot like this phenomena to me.

Next Week in Tarot

This week’s outlook is the Ace of Swords reversed, with advice of the Page of Swords. Pictured is my favorite working deck, the mini Radiant Rider Waite in a tin.

Expect to run across plenty of confusion, muddled thinking, unclear ideas and otherwise incomplete theories out in the wild this week.

Your job, however, is to find your own clarity–which is much different from trying to impose your version of clarity upon others. That likely won’t be heard anyway.

If you’re not sure, don’t commit until you do feel sure. Misunderstandings may be eliminated by discussion or even a little time. Lots of ideas are flowing but they are not all good ones! Make sure any agreements you undertake are complete and spell out the details. Be aware of the role of emotion vs. facts in decision-making.

In general, this is a week to lean hard into the facts and double-check yours. Negotiate as needed but I wouldn’t assume someone else is “bad” because they’re operating from a different set of conclusions. I expect to see a lot of that going around.

Make your peace with yourself and let others do the same.

Are you sensing the confusion? And do you feel clear enough, yourself?

If you need a little help clarifying your own action plan, give me a holler for a one-on-one.

Two of Cups & Page of Swords: Communicating Minus the Baggage

Back in the old days when I had a job-job, I used to work with my husband. We usually went to lunch together. Captain Virgo is a news hound to the core, so we often listened to talk radio in the car.

And sometimes, this little habit drove me up the wall.

Why? Because he listened to all kinds of programs, featuring all kinds of viewpoints. Not just viewpoints I considered rational or valid, but ALL kinds.

So there were some programs I found quite agreeable, but others drove me nuts. I didn’t understand how on Earth he could listen to some of it without becoming infuriated. I certainly couldn’t!

It took a while for me to catch on: he likes to understand not only what others think, but why they think it. He likes to consider issues from multiple perspectives doesn’t automatically dismiss an idea based on who it came from. He finds the food for thought reward for listening, not solely seeking the quick emotional payoff of hearing someone else say what he already believes.

I’ve developed a huge amount of respect for this trait over the years and can even listen to a lot more without getting flustered. Not everything, because I’m not a double Virgo. But a lot more.

This coming week, I’d suggest we all look to focus more on relevant details and leave the emotional baggage–be it our own or another’s–by the door.

Next Week in Tarot

Our weekly outlook came in as the Two of Cups, with advice from the Page of Swords from the Radiant Rider-Waite deck.

Listen to a short audio version of this week’s forecast below (3:42). Real-time Dix!

The Two of Cups signifies a lovefest of sorts. Like will be attracting like this coming week–well okay, it works that way in general, but you’ll really notice it this week. People will be especially inclined to hook up with others who feel and believe similarly.

So the vibe, in general, may be more comfortable in terms of feeling assured of your ultimate “rightness,” but that doesn’t mean anything has really been resolved on a grand scale or positions become less entrenched. In fact, I’m expecting the opposite as people paying near-exclusive attention to others who agree with them, thus providing a self-fulfilling sort of proof.

The world is bigger than what you can see, you know? This is true for all of us, no matter who we are.

Advice is coming in via the Page of Swords. Make your messages clear and to the point. Don’t a lot of emotional baggage to your words.  I wouldn’t bother telling people off or trying to sneak any guilt trips in your speeches here. Keep communications businesslike and fact-based.

It’s not so much about keeping the peace. It’s just that any extraneous emotion in communications at this point is very likely to muddy up the water and make your interactions far less effective. Be judicious with your words. Speak clearly. Focus on relevant details without emotional editorializing.

You don’t have to change your opinions. Just don’t assume everybody else has to share those opinions in order to be a decent human being. They don’t. Stick to what needs to be said as much as you can, respecting others to have the capacity to draw their own conclusions. They do have to capacity, every bit as much as you do.

How are you doing with managing those divides?

Tower: Clear Air

When you’re scared about what might happen, it’s very difficult to make clear-headed, rational choices. That worst-case-scenario mindset sort of sucks all the air out of the room, you know?

And yet, I see so much currently being undertaken with exactly that mentality. In some cases individually and in others, collectively, it seems like the drama out in the wild has reached a peak so many people are in exactly this situation: trying to battle off an ever-increasing sense of impending doom.

I try to avoid that sort of thing nowadays. At least, I opt out if I realize that’s what I’m doing. It is a choice to call upon faith, I guess. It’s a choice to believe the Universe will continue to run without my stress hormones jumping into the mix.

But you know what? It really does ease transitions. Things DO work out.  Deep breaths, in and out. Taking your time. Centering. Doing the best you know how and then, doing a little rest and re-set to clear the head and refresh the body. Letting inspiration lead you forward instead of fear. It’s clear that way; a much nicer ride.

That’s also the approach I’m going to be suggesting for everyone in the coming week.  We can count on one hand the number of people who are surprsied by this. Har!

Next Week in Tarot

This week for the forecast, we have The Tower (!) as our outlook, with advice coming in as the Page of Air (Swords) from The Good Tarot.

Now, whether or not I’m using a soft, squishy-themed deck (and The Good Tarot is very much that), the Tower is still the Tower. I tend to read the Tower as beneficial in the big picture–but what don’t I read that way? However, there is no denying that the Tower is disruptive, unsettling, and often, upsetting energy. It just is. If you prefer sunshine and flowers as do I, the thunderstorms the Tower heralds may be unwelcome.

However, taken with the advice we’re getting from the Page, the phrase that comes to mind here is “clearing the air.” An illusion cannot be effectively maintained in the light of a Tower crash. You can try to cling to it if you’re so motivated. But really? That approach just doesn’t bode so well in the long run.

Side note: I don’t think we’ll have to do anything in particular here to clear the air or get things rolling on the reveals in play. I see this “Tower situation” as evolving entirely on it’s own. Tower tends to be like that. By the time you get to this energy, the momentum has already bulit and whatever is going to happen will happen, regardless of what anyone does or does not do about it.

Your best bet is to see any and all shock and disruptions as tools to provide greater clarity. Anything that’s broken, illusory, or otherwise disrupted with the Tower’s crashing is offering useful information. It furthers our understanding and opens up perspective. Remaining open to learning what you can from it without undue drama is definitely the way to go for the best outcome.

In other words, my advice for this week is to not worry over the past, but make note of the present. In the moment, y’all!

Are you (mostly) in the moment right now?

p.s. I am doing the 2019 Year-Ahead Zodiac readings. These are mp3 readings with a picture of your cards and I will be offering them at least through the end of December. Page of Swords: Gaining Clarity

“Stop trying to think it all through and figure out all the potential avenues yourself. Leave that up to the Universe. Trying to map it all out is slowing you down.”

Damn it!

I’m talking to one of my Tarot people and realize, I’ve been giving out versions of this advice repeatedly lately. Whenever I notice that happening, I know that Tarot is also talking to me.

And the cards I drew for the weekly seem to be putting the punctuation right on this message.

Damn it.

This Week in Tarot: Getting Clearer

Good tarot page of air

Here we have the Page of Swords (or Page of Air) from the Good Tarot, along with Phlox from Botanical Inspirations.: Unanimity & Harmony. (I was going to say Phlox is one of my favorite flowers, but I realized: I always seem to say that. I do love ’em, though!)

This combination says good ideas are afoot. Clarity is within your grasp. You can easily receive inspiration now!

But honestly? I’d keep those ideas that are percolating primarily to myself. Let them develop and brew. The harmony you really want to reach for here, right now, is internal. Be of one mind about something and let your thoughts settle in before you start broadcasting your message.

I would not go looking for a broad agreement this week. I’d be looking for internal agreement. Don’t work on convincing other people in order to reassure yourself. Borrowed confidence never lasts very long anyway. Instead, be reaching for clarity. That’s never going to come from any place outside yourself. You may be inspired to clarity, from something you hear or see. But the click happens inside your head and inside your heart.

Once you are feeling the clarity, though? Sure, run your mouth as you like. Because by that point, you won’t really care what anyone else has to say about it. And in the case of tuning in to your own truth, not giving a damn about what anyone else has to say about it is a really good thing.

Are you in the process of getting clear?

If you need some help, give me a holler for a one-on-one session to assist you in sorting things out.
