Singing in Harmony (or Shutting Up) – Weekly Tarot Forecast, September 21-27, 2015

I hide a lot in my personal Facebook feed. A lot.

Not because I don’t have quality connections nor because there’s something “wrong” with the content people share. I hide a lot of content because a lot of the time, the content doesn’t vibe with me for one reason or another.

There’s emotional overload in general. I’m sensitive–the intense emotions that are often a part of these shared stories sticks to me. I’m quirky–so my perspective doesn’t fit well with much of what’s expressed. I pretty much have to be able to tolerate views apart from my own, because honestly? I’m unique, okay? But sometimes the assessments of those that disagree with posted material…well, it can really, really hurt. So I hide it and resolve to let it go.

For me, removing what’s prickly and painful is a way of being kind, both to myself and to others. Others don’t mean me harm. I do my best to “erase” what is not harmonious, while maintaining a generous attitude about folks whom I know have no intention to be hurtful.

This is my way of connecting to the harmonious and disregarding the discordant. And that’s what we’re looking at this week. Either sing in the same key, or quietly back away from the choir.

tarot forecast sept 21 2015

This week looks like it goes down a little smoother than last. You get no arguments from me, Universe! But even so, it’s active and shaking, with a mix of Tarot suits, a major Arcana card for Saturday (implying significant, long lasting impact) and a weekly overview card that just screams “up in the air.” For many–okay most of us–that waiting for the other shoe vibe is less than comfortable. But you know, it is what it is. We’re in between eclipses and Mercury has gone full on retrograde and, well, it’s transitional. You know?

Monday, Page of Wands: Stay task-oriented today and check off your to-do’s with intention. Okay…maybe even double-checking your to-do’s can be one of your to-do’s. Because Mercury, retrograde. You know the score. But even so, this looks like a great day to just get stuff done! Optimism is available if you just reach a little. I’ll take some extra, thank you! Moon in Sagittarius (most of the day).

Tuesday, Knight of Cups: A case of the feels creep up on you in your sleep? I’m seeing plenty of slosh today. Understand emotional flux is on the agenda. But also know the Knight’s brand of emotion tends to be overwhelming but not entrenched. In other words, it may not be that hard to change the FLAVOR of the emotion, even if you cannot change the level of the emotion.  That knowledge is like a blank check! A short time outside, three minutes with a favorite song, looking at some beautiful images, or mentally compiling a list of gratitudes regardless of how obscure or strange? That can easily shift the tenor of the feel-fest here. Utilize your conscious intention to direct the flow of emotion. Happy Fall Equinox/Mabon! Moon in Capricorn.

Wednesday, The Lovers: Look for the harmony and ride that wave. I’m not talking manufactured harmony. I’m talking making the choice–a keyword, for the Lover’s card–to align with what you see that harmonizes with your own energy. That means you don’t try to talk someone out of their beliefs or feelings. You merely connect with the ones that work for you and let the rest slide on by as if it didn’t happen. Direct your energy toward reinforcing what aligns with your soul, not fighting what does not. See the difference? Vote with your ATTENTION. Moon Void of Course in the AM, moving into Aquarius.

Thursday, Four of Swords: Exhale. Be sure to get enough sleep. Let go, detach and know it’s okay to not worry. Just be today. Just be. Moon in Aquarius.

Friday, Seven of Pentacles Reversed: Review of long-range hopes and plans. Some didn’t fly and the ones that didn’t, they seem loud today. Understood. But don’t just be sad or mad. Ask, “Why?” There is more magick in the failures than the successes here. Pluto goes direct. Moon in Pisces.

Saturday, Temperance: Integration of the insights cultivated throughout the week. Scheduling some quiet time or a meditation session is a great way to utilize this energy. Time in, around or on water also facilitates the process. Not convenient beyond a shower? Well, take the shower, sure, but also maybe watch a good movie. You can find messages for you there, all metaphorical like. Don’t question the magick. Prep for setting intentions for the Eclipse tomorrow. Moon in Pisces.

Singing in Harmony (or Shutting Up) - Weekly Tarot Forecast, September 21-27, 2015 1Sunday, Ace of Wands: It’s a day for deciding what you really want to do and getting started, even if it’s only the step of deciding. Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Aries, 4′ 40″ – Get your intentions on!

Overview/Advice, Eight of Wands: Feeling a little unsettled? Join the club–it’s a big room we’ve got going here. But you know, one thing I’ve learned very clearly and am repeatedly reminded of in this life: even when you think you know what’s ahead, you don’t. There is only now. So make the most of that now, every way you can. I’ve yet to hear anyone saying they have regretted being as fully present as possible in each moment. Yet how many of us make it our practice?

Only the NOW is real. So live there. #quotes Click To Tweet

Affirmation – Archangel Michael: “Remember who you are. You are a powerful, loving and creative child of God. You are very loved.” One of the best ways of staying true to yourself, living a life you can always be proud of and maintaining a sense of inner peace is remembering who you are. Any time you’re faced with a stressor or dilemma, ask yourself, “Who am I? Who do I choose to be, right now, today, this very moment?” Activate your heart energy, starting with yourself as always. Love is always right, always kind, always helpful no matter what the circumstances. Love always works.

It’s a week to look for the harmonies, and excuse yourself from all that doesn’t harmonize. Without trying to fix, without trying to change or cajole or be anybody else’s conscience. I don’t know about you but for me? Manning my own moral fortitude is plenty. I have the capacity to manage a conscience of one, thank you very much.

Are you finding harmony in your world?

Wear Gloves. Weekly Tarot Forecast, September 14 – 20

Thor Kitten is wondering, “How you doing with this eclipse stuff?” Because it’s edgy out there!

When I used to work in detox, my supervisor had a really simple rule: “If it’s wet and it’s not yours, don’t touch it. Wear gloves.”

While that approach would pretty much always serve you well, looking at the emotional tone of the coming week, that came to mind.

If it’s messy and it’s not yours, don’t touch it. Wear gloves – keep your distance and perspective. Clean that psychic grime off you and stay meticulous in your own habits. Because we’ve each got plenty to manage. No need catching something from somebody else!

tarot forecast sep 14 2015

I hate to say this, but it looks like a really uncomfortable week on a number of levels. Potential for freak-outs or breakdowns especially at the end of the week, although in light of the fact we just finished an eclipse, this would be expected. Lots of Swords and a hunk of Pentacles, with just one bit of detached Cup energy to end the week. So expect some conflict, confusion and practical matters going awry. But hey, we can do this! Let’s hit it day by day and see how to navigate, shall we?

Monday, Seven of Swords reversed: Delusion or denial surfaces – you start to get a sense of what’s been overlooked. Eh, it my book that’s a good thing but it can be kind of sucky at the time. Just allow it to surface and know, what needs to happen is happening.

Tuesday, Seven of Pentacles: A little planning here, a little planting there. Long range perspective is great but understand, things don’t always go as we hope. Just do the best you can with what you’ve got to work with. This is a “crossing things off your list” and appreciating what you’ve done so far day. Good, we can use that!

Wednesday, Page of Pentacles: Messages come through. Trust your ability to understand them, but double check details and keep your wits about you. Mercury is going retrograde (which you’ve probably already noticed –it’s been a hell of a shadow). There feels like a lot of between-the-lines hitting today. So note it but keep doing your job.

Thursday,  Strength reversed: Routine and consistency is in short supply. Frayed nerves. Make sure your own shelves are full of consistency, and order an extra side of patience because there may not be enough to go around. If it’s not yours, don’t touch it and make it yours. Keep on those gloves!

Friday, Ten of Swords: Whoa – who is unraveling at the seams here? Hope it’s not you! Overwhelm, potential overreactions and freak outs. Don’t let it get that far, okay? Not that you control everybody but you do control YOU. Hearken back to your routine, stay on task and keep a fresh pair of gloves handy.

Saturday, Four of Pentacles reversed: Work on eliminating unnecessary anxiety and eradicating worry with backup planning. This is partially a recovery from the energy of Friday. We’re looking to stabilize here. Stay on task for your issues and don’t be distracted by anybody else’s, okay?

Sunday, Eight of Cups: A day of release. Walk away from what does not matter and let it go. Some distraction might be nice today. Take good care of yourself.

Overview/Advice, Queen of Pentacles reversed: You cannot take care of everyone. Focus first and foremost, on taking care of yourself. Just like they tell you in those flight emergency talks, in case of emergency, you must put on your own mask first. There’s a potential for letting sleep, nutrition, or other self-care issues to slide this week and you need to be bringing your best game. So if in doubt, nap it out!

If in doubt, nap it out. Click To Tweet

Affirmation – Courage: Ariel – “Be courageous and stand up for your beliefs.” No matter who is dropping what bomb around you, there is always the choice to do what you believe to be right. Sometimes it’s easy and sometimes it’s harder, but it’s a really simple test. Act true to your beliefs. Then even if something doesn’t go as planned, you can feel okay about it. My personal rule of thumb is never to do something in private that I’d be uncomfortable about becoming public. That’s served me well. Stay focused on YOU this week, stay true to you, and you’ll be in the best position to weather the post-eclipse storm and get the healing you need to out of the whole shebang. Good luck!!

How you doing out there?!

Self-Directed: Weekly Tarot Forecast, June 29 – July 5

Lately, I’m making a specific effort to ask more often for what I want or need. That sounds kind of elementary, but as many of y’all know, it’s not the easiest thing to do for some of us. It doesn’t always go smoothly, but you know, I’m proud of myself for doing it anyway.

Once again, I see a lot of “me” in the weekly forecast.

Seeing a lot of emphasis on being self-directed here. Looking over the week as a whole, there’s plenty of shifting–sometimes uncomfortable shifting. Like a building settling, you know? We start with lots of passion and feelings, Wands and Cups, a few Majors thrown into the mix to let me know the changes are significant and far reaching. And we end up the week with Pentacles–practical, physical and tangible experiences of the newer reality.

Monday, Friendship – Suppression/Ten of Wands: Friends may be well-meaning but off the mark as far as what you really need; potential also for emotional dumping or folks in general expecting too much of friends and not adequately registering just how much is being asked. It’s an individual responsibility, first and foremost, to set one’s own boundaries and acknowledge what is or is not a heavy burden. Not saying to isolate or avoid helping out a friend in need. Just don’t sign on for more than you can comfortably carry, and don’t let yourself be overly weighed down by the needs, opinions or actions of friends.

Tuesday, Future – Going With the Flow/Ace of Cups reversed: This looks like a case of the “feels.” May hit some harder who did not manage Monday well–emotionally drained, tired or just feeling out of sorts is possible. Know you’re likely to be a bit off, out of emotional sync, and care for yourself accordingly. It doesn’t need to be a big deal.  It just may feel like a bigger deal than it ultimately is, you dig?

Wednesday, Mind – Inner Voice/High Priestess: Shut up the inner chatter and get quiet to get guidance. It’s always there for you, but today? Especially plugged in. Take advantage!

Thursday, Spirit – Change/Wheel of Fortune: Any rug suddenly pulled from under your feet is in reality indication of a personal evolutionary cycle. Change and shift are written all over this week. Please don’t slap me for saying so, but growth opportunities abound. Roll with it and you’ll reap the rewards.

Friday, Friends and Family – Letting Go/Eight of Cups: You may not leave your family and friends behind, but you may be well served to leave the drive to please them behind. Or the drive to solve their problems. Or plugging into their drama. Whatever emotional attachment it is, there’s a possibility to detach and step back here, for your own sanity and peace. Letting go of attachment is not the same as letting go of love. Sometimes, it’s the most loving way to be. Only you can tell for sure.

Saturday, Positive Influences – Ordinariness/Eight of Pentacles: Much comfort is to be hand in routine, the familiar and everyday activities like cleaning or simple chores. Physical tasks are favored, and exercise, like a walk outside especially, is also very soothing.

Sunday, You – Patience/Seven of Pentacles: All progress counts! Try to be aware of where you’re at now in terms of cycles and long-term growth. There’s a good chance the week has been demanding, so today is a good day to take stock.

Overview/Advice, Situation – The Outsider/Five of Pentacles: Sometimes when you change yourself, look to grow, you start feeling out of step with people in your life. This is natural, but can feel sad, too. It’s okay to feel however you feel. Just be aware, this is one way growing pains manifest. Finding your tribe is not always easy, either. And sometimes, that sensation of not fitting in is more internal than anything else. This, too, shall pass.

Affirmation: I will reach for the best-feeling thought I have access to. I call this the “one-step-up” technique and I use it all the time. Whatever situation is bothering me, I look for a way to reframe it, a perspective that still feels valid but is just a little more optimistic. When I can feel that, I reach a little more. Depending on the issue, it can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days to reach a much more comfortable level.

Are you feeling this?

Emotions are Loud: Weekly Flow Tarot, May 11 – 17

Weekly Tarot

I’m sad right now. My cat is sick, and I know she’s not going to be with us a whole lot longer.

This is making the time with her right now both very, very precious, and very, very hard. Emotions are kinda loud, right now.

That’s what this coming week looks like…loud. Emotionally loud. Downtime, a clear head, patience and lots of loving energy are all balm for the soul this week. I am not directly advising comfort food. But I wouldn’t call you out on it, either.

P.S. Happy Mother’s Day!

Monday – Justice, Reversed: In my head is a 10-year-old, protesting, “It’s not faaaaaaiiiiiiiiiir. Not. Fair.” If you hear these words in your head, step back. Stay off the judges bench and out of the jury box. Your job is to be the best self you can manage. That’s where your power is.

Tuesday – The Hermit: Take a deep breath and withdraw from the chatter, chatter, chatter all around you, as well as in your head. Center, to find some peace, perspective and clarity.

Wednesday – Ace of Cups: What moves you? What touches your heart powerfully? You may run into some of that. Sport tissue, just in case.

Thursday – King of Wands: Do it, do it, do it, do it, do it. Take care of business. High productivity potential if you keep your heart in what you’re doing. Creativity also favored.

Friday – Three of Swords: Ouch. Well, Hell. Feel your feels, whatever they are. That’s how you let go of those feels, man. Because nobody wants those feels to be clogging up the works.

Saturday – Seven of Pentacles:  “Long-range” is all the rage. Imagine if how you’re responding to your life today became a template for how it would be for a long time to come. Would that change anything? Today would be a good day to pretend you’re making a template.

Sunday- Judgement Reversed: I don’t care who’s fault it is. We are where we are, with what we’ve got. Focus on priorities and leave the rest to sort out in due time.

Overview/Advice – Page of Wands Reversed: Not a week to be hasty, always living in next week. Not a good time to act on impulse or going through the motions, either one. Stay present and on an even keel to fare best.

Affirmation: I love my body. You know that old song that goes, “If you can’t be with the one that you love, baby, love the one you’re with”? Not quite as cynical as that, but I’m saying, “love the one you’re with.” Wherever you’re at, whome/dixiblog/domains/afoolsjourney.com/public_htmlver you’re with, carry yourself with as much love and goodwill as possible. Your body is not perfect? Love it anyway. It’s probably weathered you through a lot if you’ve gotten this far. Love the people who are in your life to the best of your ability. Be as loving as you can to the strangers you meet–you never know what a difference your kindness and goodwill may make to someone who needs it.

Old-School Ethics – Weekly Tarot Forecast, Mar 23 – 29

Old-School Ethics - Weekly Tarot Forecast, Mar 23 - 29 4

So how has this eclispsey astro-weather been treating you? I’ve been feeling a heightened emotionality all around…the vibrational air seems literally saturated with emotion, both personally and in the group consciousness. But this one didn’t kick my ass in my personal sphere as much as some do. Thank goodness! I did pull out my moldavite necklace just in case though. I always wear moldavite around eclipses, so if I get blindsided with a smack, I can move on quickly…it’s helped so much with that.

Looking at the week ahead, I’m struck by the number of Major Arcana cards here. It has a punch! I’d also very much advise to make all decisions this week with an eye towards your core values, sustainability, and what you want for the long haul. It’s not a good time to be taking shortcuts of any type, nor cutting corners, fudging or lying. Those that don’t play it straight Monday may get a slap come the end of the week. By the weekend, you’ll likely see the wisdom of the old-school, do-it-the-right-way orientation.

Monday –  Temptation (The Devil): Make absolutely the same moves in private (nobody would ever know), that you would make standing upon a stage in the throes of a genuine “YouTube moment.” This approach is the best insurance, not only against future embarrassment, but also against darkening of the soul. You DO have a choice. Exercise it. It buys freedom.

Tuesday –  Power (Strength): Gentle, steady, and unshakable could be a great mantra today. You have what you need inside of you, so call upon it.

Wednesday –  Patience & Planning (Seven of Pentacles): Take your steps today with the long haul and delayed gratification in mind. The future has this sometimes inconvenient way of showing up one day. When it does, you’ll be glad you made the right choices along the way.

Thursday –  Rejoice in Celebration (Three of Cups) : Connect with your people and feel grateful for the good in your life. No matter what your life, there is always some good.

Friday –  Truth (Judgment): This is a balanced, unbiased accounting. It’s not about reward or punishment so much as objectivity and understanding. You may have opportunity to be glad about how you behaved earlier this week. Ha!

Saturday –  Positive Movement Forward (Eight of Pentacles): Seeing progress is always a relief. You may not be where you want to be. (So few of us are.) But it’s still very important—perhaps more important—to recognize and appreciate the milestones along the way in such circumstance.

Sunday –  Prosperity Begins (Ace of Pentacles): The seeds you’ve planted are preparing to sprout. Yay for sprouted seeds!

Advice/Overview –  Wisdom (The Hierophant): Go old-school. Do what you know is right this week, according to tradition, how you were raised, what you were taught by the teachers you honor and respect, following the advice of those who have gone before. This tried-and-true approach is what’s required.

Affirmation –  Plum, Overcome Your Challenges: Sometimes, doing the right thing is hard. Heck, sometimes even knowing the right thing is hard. And by “the right thing” I don’t mean the objectively single best decision in any given circumstance. I mean making the choice where your heart, your head and your spirit remain in alignment.

This is a week we’ll have hills to climb and distractions to overcome. There is a potential to get derailed. But if you stay on task and remember not only what you’re trying to do, but WHO YOU ARE and what you want to be about, you’re on course for making some headway. Stay true to yourself out there!

How’s your week looking?

Fuzzy Math! Weekly Flow Tarot, Dec. 1 – 7

Tarot Flow Dec 1 - 7

Several months ago, I decided to tackle some tasks I had been…putting off, to be unduly generous. Truth was, I was really scared I wouldn’t be able to manage, to work it all out. And if that happened, what would I do? I had to deal. So instead of tackling the unpleasantries, I’d let myself get overwhelmed and just procrastinated the whole mess of chores.

But that didn’t feel good, and it added to anxiety. I opted to handle it and dive in I did, one to-do list at a time. It wasn’t as impossible as I was letting it seem to be…Come to think of it, I’ve got one of those lists building up a little as we speak. Uh oh.

But this coming week? It’s kind of like that.

I’m thinking of this week as “fuzzy math” on multiple fronts. Fuzzy math in the cost-benefit analysis, fuzzy math in the remembrances of yester-year, fuzzy math in the who (or what) carries the most weight category, fuzzy math in the what-you-can-and what-you-cannot accomplish category, and fuzzy math on the “how do you really rate?” question. A whole bunch of fuzzy math! And it’s the kind of problem that may be a little intimdating to even attempt to work out. But you work it out just like you work out anything else…one step at a time.

Monday, Spirit – Seven of Pentacles Reversed: In the position of Spirit, this card says the heart is not in it, and focus is not on the long-term. This is a line in the sand, past which you’re ready to go no further. It’s not the “I’ll do whatever it takes, no matter how long it takes” vibe. It’s the “I’m damn tired and I want to go home/dixiblog/domains/afoolsjourney.com/public_html now” vibe. I’m not saying you don’t have a choice which urge you act on, or even which one is right for you. But the general urge here is to pack up your toys and go home/dixiblog/domains/afoolsjourney.com/public_html!

Tuesday, Question, Magician Reversed: Who is pulling the strings? Who is manipulating whom? Who is deftly, perhaps imperceptibly, influencing outcome? The reversed Magician can be very clever and very sneaky, for that matter. I’m seeing one of those shell game street hustlers. Ask yourself who is stacking the odds, who has the most to gain, to stay on top of your game today. Don’t underestimate the quiet ones. Ha!

Wednesday, What to Take From the Past – Nine of Cups: Remember what used to make you feel contented, complete. Do you still have it? Appreciate it! If not so much, what can you do to access similar feelings? There are hints for you today in what used to make you happy. We’re looking for ways to revive that party in the present.

Thursday, Past – Four of Cups Reversed: Rose-colored glasses taking the edge off your memories of days gone by? The “good old days” were not always good, and much you take for granted now at one time was a distant dream. Reconcile the reality of the past with both the challenges and the blessings of the present. It will give you a more stable platform from which to ponder your next move.

Friday, What to Know – The Moon: You cannot argue with crazy. You cannot expect on a liar to confess. You cannot prove your personal, magical knowings to the skeptic. It’s a very fuzzy day, today. Like seeing the world through a soft focus lens. It would be a good time for music, mediation, movies, and all things with a bit of an ethereal, ungraspable quality about them. Not so much with the cold, hard facts, though. Don’t expect the day to be something it’s not and you’re much more likely to be happy with it—instead, exercise you “mystery and magic” muscles and you’ll find it all a lot more satisfying.

Saturday, Hopes and Fears – Two of Wands Reversed: This is a worry over not being up to the tasks at hand. It could be specifically fear surrounding a particular challenge, either from an individual or a specific situation…note that to get this card at all, the potential to hold your ground is already there. You just have to do the rest of your prep work. It’s getting there.

Sunday, What You Can’t Change – King of Pentacles Reversed: No benevolent bailout is waiting. It’s important to look after your own needs today. You can do it! You ARE doing it. So just continue to do it. And feel good about it, okay? That right there is something to be proud of. Taking care of business is awesome!

Overview/Advice – Eight of Swords: Throughout the week, look at those limitations that you attribute to circumstance, outside sources and unchangeable situations with an unwavering objectivity. Because…are they? Are they really? Beware the “Yes-But Syndrome,” where you dismiss available options with a, “Yes, but…” Taking off a self-imposed blindfold could make all the difference in coping and comfort levels.

Affirmation – Breathe. Archangel Raphael: “Take several deep breaths, and exhale slowly to awaken your energy and release old patterns.” Freedom is a good thing—and getting nudged (or smacked) with old patterns gives us the option to release those patterns. This is virtually never a comfortable exercise. But it’s virtually always a valuable one. I’ll take progress over comfort. What about you?

Are you feeling like your life is full of fuzzy math?
