Facts over Freakouts = Weekly Tarot Forecast 07/08/13

Weekly Tarot Forecast shows up as a face-off between facts and emotions.

Short version: Don’t go getting all sloshy-emotive, isolated and martyred it up. Stick to the facts and stay calm to build yourself some support.

Have you used this strategy to manage during stressful times?

04/26/13: High Road / 7 of Wands

Take the high road,  making decisions that adhere to your best and most exalted standards of integrity. That’s always the Seven of Wands advice—even if it’s a steep climb, and you’re all alone and you don’t know how you’re going to make it up that mountain. Call upon your inner resources, your higher power, and/or whatever force and principles you find unshakable to give yourself the energy and strength to go on.

This choice? It makes all the difference. The way may be difficult but it’s a path you won’t have occasion to regret.

Are you at a crossroads?

12/29/12: Beware Zombie Invaders! | 7 of Wands

Everybody’s a critic, huh? At least, until you find yourself a good meal. And once you find yourself a good meal, don’t be surprised if some of those critics show up demanding a piece of your pie. (Or fleshy matter, brain tissue, whatever applies.)

There are lots of reasons for this phenomena. It’s easier to tear someone else down than take the personal risk of being innovated and daring. Some are just jealous. Lazy people show up to piggyback off of other’s hard work. Opportunists take what they can get, whenever they think someone is weak or unwary enough to be susceptible. With success comes the added burden of defense of said success. It’s inevitable.

You can like the phenomena or not, but it’s a reality. Protect yourself from the start, and the vultures…er, ah, zombies, will pass you by for easier targets. After all, the thieving zombies are the ones that don’t want to work very hard!

Don’t be surprised if leeches initially pretend to be friends—way too much, too fast, and oh yeah, they’re “friends” you never choose. They flatter and pretend to be in need. It’s a boundary test for you. Once someone pats you on the back and proclaims, “I think you’re SO awesome and want you to know, I’d NEVER dream of stealing your food…I want to be just like you!” Well, best keep a watch on your food. You’re being set up.

Zombies are actually a great metaphor for these invaders because they are like re-animated corpses. Shells, looking to drink from your life force. It’s the life, the spark of your energy and creation that’s actually targeted. Don’t let that happen.

If someone makes you uncomfortable, DEFEND yourself, hard and fast. Don’t flinch, don’t wait for close proximity to confirm, because it’s all the harder when they’ve moved in. Stand tall, stand firm, and stand alone to protect what is valuable and rightfully yours. It can be protection of the material or that more etheric, but either way, it requires singular defense or you’ll be one hungry, crying zombie. And nothing is sadder than a hungry, crying zombie.

Are you good at swatting off the zombies invaders?

10/10/12: Tall and Proud | 7 Wands

“Hearts are the strongest when they beat in response to noble ideals.” Ralph Bunche

You know, I babble about repeating Tarot cards and themes over time. That’s extremely common if you work with the cards every day…but even at that, the last couple weeks, themes have been so stark and in-your-face, it’s hard not to marvel even more than usual.

Here we have “Stand Your Ground,” aka the Seven of Wands. The Sun rising before the figure suggests tapping into the power of identity, just like the Sun in astrology. It’s your inner light, your true self that’s to be expressed here.

Be who YOU are, without compromise, without flinching and above all, without apology. That’s not to say you cannot work to improve who you are, of course. The rising sun shines; the Seven of Wands generally speaks to defending ideals, not making excuses for faults.

But whatever it is YOU decide to stand for, do so tall and proud. This way, you align with the highest of energy and become more than who you were before.

Getting the idea of how to ride this energy lately? Define, defend, and live true. Stay confident in the midst of changing weather, knowing that you’re living the absolute best you can, and it’s all part of the greater whole.

Have you been standing your ground?

07/02/12: Living Your Truth | 7 Wands

“Really? Really!?? It’s not enough, that I’m a pink-haired Tarot reader in Podunk Kansas, skipping around talking about spirits and charkas and energetic vibrations? Now I’m supposed to be a witch, too?!? Aren’t there enough people standing in line to save me already?!”

This is what I said to the sky. What can you do but laugh, you know?

I talk a fair amount about pings, what’s on my radar—recognizing and especially paying attention. I wholeheartedly believe we get as much guidance as we welcome with open arms, help smoothly walking the path. The more you pay attention, the stronger and more frequently pings come in.

But I tell you what: there is NO telling what that path is going to be!

We’ve got the Seven of Wands from the Psychic Tarot Oracle – that imagery is pretty clear-cut, don’t you think? Traditionally associated with Mars in Leo, there’s a sense here of having to fight (Mars) for your confidence (Leo).

It’s not like I bother much with public opinion. I was raised specifically to disregard it, and my upbringing served well. But it’s not like I’m unaware, either. I won’t tell you it never stings. But whaddya gonna do?

You don’t think my unabashed woo-woo proclivities has cost me clients from my other, more traditional business pursuits? Think again.

Not to mention my insistence on going my own way has cost more than 25 years with my family. There are some things you don’t get back. Once they’re gone, that’s it.

But in exchange, I get to be who I really am. I get to speak what I truly believe and live the way that makes me happiest. I can shine my own light full force and if it glares in some eyes, the mofo’s can look the other way.

I can’t be bothered looking for consensus when I want to live on the supernatural edge. I don’t know really know if ever self-identify as a witch or not, but I know I’ll learn about it, because I was guided to.

Paying attention to my inner compass has never let me down. I’ll hold close whatever rings true and discard whatever doesn’t. What you keep and what you discard in and of itself is far less important than making the call with purity and intention, because it’s an individual path, an individual reality being created. Hence, it’s an individual responsibility to keep it clean and true. That’s how you live brightest, living true.

Do you feel like you can live your truth?
