03/15/12: Do right, right now! | 8 Wands, 7 Wands

“Knowledge will give you power, but character respect.” Bruce Lee

Today’s Tarot is the Swiftness, the Eight of Wands (Mercury in Sagittarius) and Valor, the Seven of Wands (Mars in Leo). These cards speak to a very fast-moving development! To fare best, stand on your integrity, period. No time to think it through, guess what might work or take a stab at figuring out what will most likely get you what you want.

Here, just do what you believe is right. And do it immediately! No hesitation, no calculating, no putting anything off. Delay will not improve the situation.

Not exactly the cards I’d expect under Mercury retrograde, but Hell. What are you gonna do?

10/18/11: Mind Your Business! | Rev, Queen of Swords, Rev. 7 of Wands

“We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.” –Dalai Lama

Queen_of_Swords7_of_WandsToday’s Tarot forecast is Morality reversed (Queen of Swords) and Stress reversed (Seven of Wands) from the Osho Zen deck. Osho always has such a unique take on the traditional card meanings, driven home by the vivid artwork—this is a blunt deck. So today, we have blunt!

Don’t be rigid, demanding everything done to your standards. That’s a pretty lonely stance, don’t you think? You end up with lots of self-generated stress and no support. No fun! Nothing leaves you persona non grata faster than criticizing what others do, man.

Instead, decide what’s most important to you, what actually belongs to you, and focus on that. Let others walk their own path. If it’s important enough to you to require a certain approach, then do it yourself without resentment or rancor. That’s the price for having to have it your way. If you’ve got too much, re-evaluate priorities. We have just so much energy to spend here on the physical plane, so budget it wisely! In short, it’s not about the other person. It’s about YOU.

Do you get frustrated over what others do (or don’t do)? How do you address it?

10/01/11: Path of the Freak | Rev.3 of Wands, 7 of Wands

“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” –Henry David Thoreau

In a perfect example of Tarot talking directly to ME, I give to you today’s Tarot forecast. Ha!

We have the reversed Three of Wands (Sun in Aries) and the Seven of Wands (Mars in Leo). Associated with the Fire Element, Tarot wands are action-oriented. This combination suggests not waiting for others to “come around.” Stand alone if need be, still acting (Mars) with pride (Leo).

Escher-relativityBeing the freak that I am, I heavily relate to the concept of being negatively judged by those who have no understanding of who I am or why I make the decisions I do. I have never, ever, ever fit in. Not going to happen in this lifetime! I’d love to say, “There was a time this bothered me, but now…”

Except that isn’t true. Sometimes, it does bother. Most often, that depends on who it is coming from. Not always, though. And sometimes  I find myself reacting even when I’m not getting hit. I’m reacting to old news. Duly noted. No need to be defensive. Just be.

Do what’s right by your own estimation, live consistently according to your deepest, truest convictions, and let the world catch up…or not. It’s kind of irrelevant. My path is my path, your path is your path. That isn’t proof one of us is wrong if they are not the same one. Heck, we could end up at the same destination. Or not. But the real mistake is trying to walk a path that’s not authentically yours.

Are you feeling this, friends?

Everyday Tarot, 07/29/11: Can you hear me now?

Tarot Déjà Vu!

Damn, Tarot.

Ya’ll have been digging on this Transparent Tarot, so I grabbed the deck, shuffled it up, and pulled three cards. And wouldn’t you know it—they were EXACTLY the same three cards we got a couple days ago—don’t isolate (King of Cups, Ten of Wands, Three of Cups). I KNOW I shuffled. Um…again? Unless I’m missing something in the message. The cards will have to be blunt if that’s the case. Even us Tarot readers have our moments, y’know.

So I pulled a couple more—Seven of Wands and Two of Cups. You see what we’ve got going on here? In every life, there are some burdens that we carry alone, and some battles that we have to fight ourselves. But if we always act from the heart, celebrate (and console) one another, and keep our hearts open to love and partnership, this is what gets us through. Connection fuels our resolve for perseverance and passion for living and keeps the work worthwhile.

The long and short of it? There are breaks in the assault of responsibilities and demands. So when you see one, call a friend! Keep your heart open, connect with people who care about you whenever and however you can, and work through everything, one step at a time.

You can do this…just not yesterday. Be here, now, full present emotionally and you’ll get through. Much love to all who could use a hug!

You see anything else in here? ‘Cause there may well be, since the cards are getting louder!
