08/20/12: Not-quite Sunny Side up | rev Sun

20120812_142700 (417x622)

I know, I know. It’s not there yet, so sayth the reversed Sun. Life is not all sunny-side up. You ain’t completely happy. Your eggs aren’t cooked to your order. I hear you, man. I hear you!

But I also know that I don’t see the Sun card, even reversed, unless the elements for sunshine are present and accounted for, all at hand. You got that? Yes, maybe a setback or delay has dampened your enthusiasm. Fair enough. But the cause for enthusiasm is not gone. Only clouded over a minute. Wait for your breakfast to finish cooking, and enjoy your toast in the meantime, much as you can.

Are you feeling not-quite-sunny?

Plantentary Energy of Rings – 3rd (Sun) and Pinkie (Mercury)

From astrologer Kathy Rose – rings on the third and pinky fingers. I have my wedding rings on my third finger, and have had pinky finger rings, but again, it’s been a long time. The connection to the pinkie finger to sexuality was especially interesting. And great point about the rings needing to be comfortable!

Do you have rings on these fingers?

12/23/11: Not Quite Perfect | Reversed Sun

“Actually, I can’t imagine anything more tedious than a perfect person, especially if it was someone who also demanded perfection from me.” –Hugh Mackay

Today’s Tarot is the reversed Sun. Even reversed, this card is usually welcome as heralding an encompassing sense of well-being, happiness—a sense all is right with the world. Inverted, I’d say it’s not quite perfect. But good enough IS good enough, you know?

I chuckled seeing this, as I realized this morning I hadn’t set an Everyday Tarot post to load today. Ooops! Not quite perfect, huh?

It’s time to appreciate all you’ve got, flawed or not. Love the quirks, the dents and scratches on your life and your people with as much honesty and truth as you love the sparkle and shine. It’s all part of the human experience! It’s all part of growing and living and being human. We probably get more useful stuff from dealing with the flaws and lacks than we do from the perfect life, anyway. And sometimes? Those dents and scratches need love the most. Love heals. So love your flaws along with your strengths. They are all part of the same whole.

So today, I’m not going to fuss at myself or anybody else for being less that perfect. Imperfection presents us a road to growth! I’m going to accept their flaws and my own, as “character” and detail painted broadly upon the landscape of life. The beauty’s still there, underneath any nicks. Appreciation  turns it up.

You have some “almost perfect” in your life?

Everyday Tarot, 06/23/11: Turning Up Your Sun

tarot-forecast-inverted-sunWe’ve got some serious Virgo ’round these parts—’course, when is Virgo not serious, but I digress—and that damn Cardinal Grand Cross action has been keeping us hanging off the edge of our seats here. And there’s more yet!  But we’re not completely adrift here.

Today’s Tarot forecast is the Sun, reversed, also known as “Lord of the Fire of the World,” associated with the Sun (duh). Now, don’t let that reversal bother you. Even  inverted, the Sun is a pretty happy card. Long and short of it, things are probably not where you want them to be (yet), but we’re still looking up.

If you’re not feeling much of the warmth yet, ask yourself how you can brighten up the weather. Can you say a kind word to someone? Can you help somebody in need? Can you look at a troublesome element in your life more generously?

The question here is, “Who do you want to be?” Make sure you are, in ways large and small, and you’ll have the power to shine.

Inverted Sun: Love, Not Regret

From a reading…

Don’t worry that you’ve created the mess by not always focusing on the light, okay? Yes, you create your reality, but in a relationship, you do not create it alone. So stop thinking of problems as a personal failing, where you were not “good enough” to successfully fight for the higher ground.

This whole thing, the ups and downs and in between, is a series of the life lessons for you to study. You are not failing spiritually, because of the shadow on your happiness. You do not control everything that happens directly. You control your thoughts, where your energy goes.

And even when things stray into uncomfortable avenues, there will be something of use there for you to pick and and learn from that can add to your eventual fulfillment and gifts to others. So accept it all all part of the process, okay? With LOVE, not regret.

What do you see?
