Lovers: What’s Your Mission?

I’ve been self-employed for years now. It might surprise people who know (non-conformist) me  to hear I often use mission statements with my business ventures. The idea used to strike me as silly, but I came around once I experimented using them.

Ethical questions or practical considerations or choosing what to prioritize are all important parts of the day-to-day journey for any undertaking.  Choice is unavoidable. When you have articulated a big-picture mission, it’s much easier to make sure your day-to-day choices are aligned with that mission.

The mission is the bigger picture, the whole painting. But the individual decisions are the single brush strokes that make up the painting. Next week might be a good time to set the mission and let it guide you through the brush stokes.

Next Week in Tarot

Lovers High Priestess Revesed

Outlook for the week is courtesy The Lovers, with advice from the High Priestess reversed and clarified by the Three of Swords. These cards are from the Crystal Visions Tarot deck.

In the coming week, we’ve got a job to do: getting clear on what matters.

The High Priestess reversed would advise we ACT in concert with our choices and priorities. If not, we stand to lose here (says the Three of Swords).

This isn’t about having the whole scenario mapped out, by the way. If you wait for that, you’re going to miss your window of opportunity. This is a very in-the-moment, clarity-driven, in-touch-with-your-intentions vibe.

Know your mission. Know what’s most important. Know what you want, big picture. Then for each individual choice that comes up, you can use that big-picture perspective to determine which way to turn at the forks.

Success in this environment won’t come from over-orchestration. The idea of ends justifying the means will backfire.

Be true to yourself with each brush stroke and let the painting work itself out.

The Lovers: Finding Your Truth (and Living Accordingly)

Last week, in doing those experimental Spirit Message readings, I found myself getting more visuals than normal. During readings, it’s very common for me to see pictures in my head. They’re usually metaphorical, but sometimes literal. I think maybe the extra extra energy devoted to meditation along with the even stronger intention to “see” for these may have made the difference. I’m going to keep playing with it (for all my readings) because it was helpful.

It’s kind of funny to me, really. The Spirit Messages were about checking in with invisible friends. Guides, Spirits, Angels, or dead folks, what-have-you. But I don’t really think of these entities the same way many card-slingers do.

I consider all my beliefs to be no more than a “working definition” of how the Universe works. (This is one way to avoid feeling like an idiot when your perception of reality shifts, as my has many times over the course of my life.)

So I speak from personal experience, absolutely, but I don’t assume my interpretation of my own experience is going to match anyone else’s or even my own at a different juncture. I don’t feel like I have access to the final word on what’s “real.” Everything we experience as reality must first go through the filter of our perception, after all. I know my perception shifts and expect it to continue indefinitely. So who am I to say?

Before I got so woo, for example, I would have utterly pooh-poohed the idea of spirit guides. Not logical enough to suit all my Virgo! I am sure I obnoxiously rolled my eyes into the next week, when the topic came up. But now?

Well, I’ve met a lot of guides, distinctly recognizable to the folks I was reading for. The messages they shared were relevant. Hard to deny those who you’ve met. Even tougher when the messages are solid.

I’ve seen angels when reading for people who work with angels. I’ve also seen dead people and Gods and saints and animals–each depending on who I’m reading for. I learned not to overthink it. Just present it all as I perceive it presented to me.  I don’t know for a take-it-to-court kind of fact what, precisely, I’m tuning into in each of these instances. I just know that it’s consistently most helpful to when I faithfully convey whatever I get, in whatever way I get it.

Sometimes the people I work with  worry that I’ll find their interpretation of the energy they are feeling “crazy.” I always laugh and reply, “You know what I do for a living here, right?”

If you think of everything as being an expression of energy as I do, the idea individuals may translate and envision the same energetic forces differently doesn’t seem so far-fetched. I’ve long since stopped asking myself what’s literally “real” so much as whether or not I’m feeling that undeniable ring of truth. I’m reaching for the essence, the knowing, not extraneous details.

I guess I’m saying is I don’t think it matters much, how you envision the structure of the world. It just matters how whatever you settle upon interacts with your own sense of truth. And this concept nestles neatly into our upcoming forecast.

Next Week in Tarot

For this week’s outlook, we got The Lovers! And advice is the High Priestess reversed. These renditions come from the Crystal Visions Tarot deck.

Now, you’ve got to love getting The Lovers as a weekly forecast. Or at least, I do! It promises plenty of opportunity for finding harmony, balance and basically sliding into a comfortable groove.

I say “opportunity” instead of promise, though. I find it important to remember that the Lovers is a card of choices more than anything else. That potential for blissful harmony isn’t automatic. Instead, it’s achieved through a series of choices, exercising personal preferences with integrity and authenticity. Any relationship fits who you really are perfectly only when you’re perfectly true to who you really are.

With advice for the week embodied by the High Priestess reversed,  we’re being encouraged to plug in before we act on our choices. Again, it’s not automatic. There might be a little antsiness to soothe worries, address building tensions or otherwise react to fears. Wait for the sense of everything “clicking into place” before you finalize anything. This doesn’t appear to be a lengthy wait. It’s just a matter of proper timing. Hint: If you’re unsure if the timing is right, it isn’t. When the timing is right (and the High Priestess has made her way to upright), you just know it. You don’t need to know how or why you know it. You’ll just know it.

Are you feeling a “knowing?” Or feeling for it?

I’m open to doing a few more Spirit Message readings, although I don’t think I’m going to offer them as a regular thing. Just a now and then thing. If you would like to get in on it, send $40 via Paypal and feel free to identify a general area of interest if you want (e.g. romance, money, family). These seemed to flow the easiest with a more general focus.

Otherwise, if you want old school Tarot, give me a holler and we can talk.

Lovers & King of Cups: Finding Your Flow

Those that are afraid see the world as a very scary place.  Those that are angry see the world as a very unjust place. Those that are hopeful see the world as a very optimistic place.

Those that are realistic see the world as it is.

But the dreamers see the world as what it’s becoming.

It’s all there. The scary and optimistic and what is and what’s becoming. It’s all there to see. What anyone sees most, however, is a function of their own emotional setpoint.

This coming week, your setpoint will be quite noticeable. All the better to choose your own setting.

This Week’s Tarot

For the outlook, we’ve got The Lovers! I like that. Advice comes in the persona of the King of Cups, both from my well-loved Legacy of the Divine Tarot deck.

And look! Another (quickie) video version of the forecast here. Note: I don’t think I saved this video at a high enough quality, but hey, it’s the words that count, right?

There is unquestionably ease to be found next week and it’s quite easy to access: let your heart do the talking. An open heart is all that’s required.

As you go out into the world, keep checking in with yourself emotionally and use what feels best, most loving, most kind, and the most true to yourself as your failsafe GPS.

This is actually a pretty nice way to live, should you decide to give it a try.

Five of Swords & Queen of Swords Rx: Do-It-Yourself Love

I’ve been considering the notion, “What someone thinks about me is none of my business.”

This is far easier to preach than practice.

Sometimes, we want to feel understood, heard and seen. Moments of feeling known that way are powerful.

But we’d best never rely on someone else to provide us that kind of juice. We can appreciate the energy when we get it, since it’s one way of being fed. But it’s always best to still be able to feed oneself, you know?

The drive to be understood–or validated, whatever you want to call it–is strongest when we feel the most vulnerable. If you’re not sure of your own worth, it’s natural to look for outside reassurance.

But those kind of holes cannot be filled from the outside. It helps for a minute but the hits of confidence doesn’t very long if we don’t strongly know our own goodness.

Self-love has got to be self-generated. Getting clear for yourself on what feels best to you  and not worrying much about anything (or anyone) else is exactly the sort of approach I’d recommend for the coming week. Take a step back and focus on the view you enjoy most.

Next Week in Tarot

The forecast cards wanted to come out as a duo, so I pulled the advice as a duo as well.

For the outlook, we have the Five of Swords and Four of Cups reversed.

Advice comes in the way of the Queen of Swords reversed paired up with the Lovers, all from this well-worn but still lovely Legacy of the Divine tarot deck.

It may appear battles are lost or won, and decisions are set this week. You may not feel satisfied with  some of the outcomes. There’s a tendency to get stuck mentally in what you don’t dig here, running things around and around in circles in your head. Don’t.

The Queen of Swords reversed is sharp and critical. Teamed up with the Lovers as guidance, she suggests stepping back from critical analysis and instead focus on harmony, wherever you can find it. That harmony may (and often will) be found through focusing on entirely different topics.

So you don’t need to “make your peace” around issues that disturb you. Instead, reach for ANY peace, for ANY harmony.

We think it’s the outer circumstances of our lives that dictate our subjective feelings, but it’s really the other way around. Shift your feelings and you’ll shift your experience.

You don’t need anybody’s cooperation. You just need to decide for yourself, what matters most to you.

Place priority on loving yourself and watch the rest fall in line.

Bucking the System? Tarot Forecast, 3/27 – 4/2/17

I was getting a quick, fun reading at a fair one day–some sort of oracle stones. The reader asked me if I was a risk taker. I’m hesitating, thinking very earnestly on the question.

“I don’t know. I don’t feel like I’m that much of risk-taker.”

“How many different colors do you have in your hair?” she asked.

We laughed, and I got her point. What is no big deal to me–hair grows out, yo–may FEEL risky to others. In this case, the “risk” was mostly disapproval from people who don’t like grown women dying their hair weird colors. But it’s a legitimate “thing.” And I know it’s perceived as risky because I cannot count the number of people who have told me they’d love to do the same if they could find the courage.

Weird hair color and blue, glittery nails on someone much too old for such silliness by conventional standards is a tiny, even trivial example “bucking the system.” But it IS bucking the system. It’s about what I value on a personal level–color and glitz that makes me happy–versus what is considered conventional or socially acceptable.

This coming week is kind of like that.

Welcome to my Tarot forecast where I do things differently every week. Ha!

The Week Ahead

The Ten of Cups and Lovers combined speak to surrounding yourself with people that harmonize with you. Not yes-men and yes-woman. Yawn! But people whom you respect and respect you. There is space for synergy by teaming up with those you feel comfortable with emotionally. Harmony will be amplified, especially early on this week. It’s a way to ground yourself in stability before dealing with anything else.

Matter of fact, being grounded may come in handy mid to late week. The Seven of Wands teamed with the Tower and suggests calling out a naked emperor! Individuals may speak up to power or established systems. There is a feeling of fighting City Hall here, where the little guy stands up to the powers that be. This seems more personal to me, not necessarily a mass protest, but individuals speaking up in smaller ways.

In other words, don’t buck the system for the sake of bucking the system. Stay firmly grounded in what’s important to YOU in your own life. This is not worrying about others nearly so much as it feels like taking care of your own business.

But the other side of this process? Justice shows up to promise fairness–not to be confused with equality. In other words, the outcomes won’t be the same for everyone, but they will be applied equally and that’s motion forward.

Obviously, this is a forecast for the collective so that energy will play out differently for different people and for some, it will be less personal than for others. But don’t be surprised to see examples of it around you as you make your way through the week.

Tarot Advice

For advice, the Four of Cups teamed with the Seven of Cups suggests daydreaming about outcomes, playing what-if. There’s nothing wrong with that game. It can be incredibly beneficial, a lot of the time, if it’s used to understand and mold your ideas and help you remain optimistic. But understand the what-if’s you’re coming up with is incomplete, as they represent a transitory phase of the situation. Outcomes will have elements of your what-if’s but it won’t be a perfect match because the information is not yet fleshed out. Your dreams are baking this week, so it’s all still in the oven. Let it bake, you know? Let it bake.

We wind up with Death–there has to be a dying off and cleansing before your dreams can move forward. There is a energetic cleaning (which can include physical cleaning, especially symbolic physical cleaning). The new we’re moving towards, of course, is the final card here, the Six of Wands. Wow, that is a resurrection, huh?

My sense overall is that this is a good thing, a helpful breakthrough of sorts. So treat it as such. If you get yourself firmly grounded and feel the support and love of likeminded individuals, clearing out what is just not right isn’t so hard and in the end, it helps you keep moving.

Hope that’s helpful to you  and that you have a great week! Take care of yourselves and be well.

You ever find yourself fighting the big guys?

Icing on the Cake: Tarot Forecast, Jan 30 – Feb 4, 2017

I blame astrology–but one recurring theme of my life has been people that I care about exiting–sometimes quite dramatically.

I know, I know, we all deal with this to one degree or another. But it’s been notable for me, at least to me. It’s been a function of my life for many, many years. Important relationships, poof! Friends, sure, but also close family. I have not always taken this well mind you, but maturity has helped me make a lot of progress on that front.

This feature of being me has given the opportunity to find lots and lots of different perspectives on the phenomena. And being who I am, I always look for the perspective that feels best to me.

Our connections, meaningful as they are to us, giving so much fun and love and healing and growth, are all interludes in our lives. We each live inside our own hearts and heads with our own, unique perspectives and no amount of explanation or persuasion can fully admit another. And that’s beyond okay; it’s how this works. That’s how we’re built. It’s a gift, really, when we can share bits and pieces of it with another, but wholly unnecessary for a happy life.

Think of it like icing on the cake. It’s great to have icing but with or without, the cake still tastes good.

This week coming up? It’s a lot like that. The only thing that really matters is sticking true to who you are. This is your cake. Let the universe ice it.

This week’s forecast audio…

The week as a whole may require you to step back a bit to get your orientation, so take your time and let the week’s events roll over you. There is a very clear flow to this forecast, gradual and progressive. I’m seeing/feeling plenty of hysteria out in the wild–so you’ll have to make the choice to opt out if you’d prefer not to ride on that train. Disciplined focus and a determination to feel good are your tickets to a better experience.

Especially notable in this week’s draw is the number of Sevens–the sixteen of the Tower reduces to seven, and we’ve got the Sevens of Wands, Pentacles, and Cups, along with the Chariot, Seven in the Major Arcana! Tarot Sevens offer a clarifying force: focus, drive, and turn points are often called into play. There’s also a sense in Tarot sevens of being separate, standing alone to make one’s decisions while the rest of the world does whatever it does. So if you keep that in mind, you’ll have more success.

Let’s hop on in to the day-by-day and see what we’ve got going.

Monday, Rebuild (Tower) – This angel has lots of heart energy going on…a very soft interpretation of the Tower. Take wherever you are, make peace and start focusing on what you want. Read: focusing NOT on what’s wrong, what might be wrong, how long it will be wrong, how to force the wrong out of your experience. Focus on what you want, and ways you can add that energy in your life. Focus is not the devastation, but the rebuilding. This works from applying it to yourself, all the way out: to your family, neighborhood, country, or world. I recommend focusing on what you want to build!

Tuesday, Strengthening Bonds (Ace of Pentacles) – Look for common ground. You disagree on 25 things with your neighbor but agree on two? Focus on and explore the two you agree upon! That’s the basis for moving forward. That is the only space in which progress is possible.

Wednesday, Base Chakra + Love (The Lovers) – Security and stability comes from the heart, not external circumstances. If you want to offer that to others, or find it for yourself, come at it form a heart space. Look for and express love and kindness. Focus on the energy of love and kindness to activate the vibration of love and kindness. If you are feeling a bit alone, to activate more love, focus your attention on things that help bring out that energy for you. A pet you love, food or a movie, whatever, doesn’t matter what it is. Just feel the appreciation, as appreciation is the same family of vibration as love, so it will activate love. Love is always good medicine.

Thursday, Choose your Battles (Seven of Wands) – Self-explanatory, don’t you think? Trying to get others to be you is always a losing proposition, so I never recommend it. ‘Nuff said.

Friday, Awaiting Results (Seven of Pentacles) – Don’t push to know all the details, how it’s all going to be, now, now, now, now, now. Set out your intentions and be clear, and let the world morph around your clarity and focus of feelings. The results of the vibration you’re offering will settle themselves.

Saturday, Daydreams and Decisions (Seven of Cups) – Lots of visions dancing in your head. Mentally a very active time. You get to decide what you focus on. Let your mind wander, sure, but steer it towards the “wouldn’t it be great if…” end of the scale. Make any necessary decisions, WHILE you’re in a good feeling place.

[bctt tweet=”Make decisions steeped in the feeling you want for the outcome. #OnMyRadar” via=”no”]

Sunday, Move (Chariot) – We’ve had some clarification this week. Monday, we decided what we want. Tuesday, we searched for common ground. Wednesday, we helped ourselves and others feel a bit more secure, coming from a heart-centered place. Thursday, we acknowledged not everything is worth fighting about, Friday, we sat back to let the flow come. Saturday, we get into a good-feeling place with our imagination and make decision from that good-feeling place. Sunday, you may have the option to take some action on it–inspired action, that comes from being connected, plugged in and being in a good place.

Overview/Advice, Darkest Fears (Nine of Swords) – Some of what you feel is “wrong” is worry, imagination used against yourself. Understand the yucky feelings you may have may not be premonition signaling an eventuality, but more born of personal fears. Look for where you can come together with the portion of your experience, however humble it may be, that you find is representative of what you want to see. I don’t mean come together to complain! Look for areas of commonality, harmony and agreement. This will help soothe and even out your energy, giving you more clarity. It’s a step towards living a happy life, which is kind of why we’re here.

Hope that’s helpful and hope you have an awesome week.

How’s your cake coming?
