Two of Pentacles & Ten of Swords: Believe in Them

It’s easy to get caught up in things you have no control over. I know–I’m an expert at it! Many years of practice haven’t gone to waste.

I might worry about my parents or how my kids are doing, or how a friend is navigating a rough patch. I tend to be more concerned about how other people are managing than managing myself. Maybe you do, too.

I am trying to focus more clearly on the strength and resourcefulness of the people I care about, though. It’s a practice, really. But sometimes, that faith in someone’s ability to manage and ultimately thrive is the best gift you can give.

It looks like we really have enough on our own plates right now, so it might be a good time to practice this idea in the coming week.

Next Week in Tarot

Two of Pentacles & Ten of Swords: Believe in Them 1

For next week’s outlook, we’ve got the Two of Pentacles. Advice comes in the form of the Ten of Swords, with additional insight from the World, reversed. These cards are from the drop-dead gorgeous Tarot Illuminati deck.

The Two of Swords is clear here: It is enough for you to keep up with your personal responsibilities (and feelings) this coming week. You will be able to, if you stay focused on the tasks at hand.

Focus isn’t always easy, though. I expect lots going on–the seas are not calm. Emotional outbursts, meltdowns or even moral panics could vbe part of the background scene. But paying attention to all that hullabaloo is a distraction most of us can’t readily afford.

In terms of advice, the Ten of Swords extends last week’s theme: feel what you feel. Deal with your own business. That IS enough.

Otherwise? Your issues may unconsciously surface in the attempt to deal with other people’s business and who knows how that might turn out?

One nice thing to remember about the Ten of Swords: while this card invariably is depicted as dire, it’s always clear indication that this moment, right here and now, is as hard as it gets. From a Ten of Swords perspective, there is no place to go but up!  So acknowledge that you’re ready for improvements and don’t try to take on anything beyond what is truly yours to juggle here.

The World reversed elaborates that the perspective is not yet there to see the bigger picture and integrate into our worldview yet. Still too much emotional churn for that.  But the beginning of this broader understanding is already underway. You don’t see the World card, upright or inverted, without that energy being expressed to some extent.

In short: do what you need to do. Manage your own thoughts and emotions. You be in charge of YOU. Give others the gift of having faith in them. The world with sort itself.

If you’d like to schedule a private session, give me a holler here.

Five of Pentacles & Ten of Swords: Shakeups

Sometimes, structures or situations in our lives break. Maybe the working relationship you’ve had stops working. A source of financial stability turns unstable. What you thought you knew no longer is proving true.

Sometimes something breaks in your life and you’re not sure how to fix it.

Now, I can swoop in all Pollyanna and tell you, “Oh, it’s a good thing in the long run! Things happen for a reason. You’ll be better off, once it’s dealt with.”

And likely if I say such things, you’ll want to smack me. I am well aware of this because I kind of feel that way even when I’m telling this to myself.

Doesn’t mean every bit of it isn’t absolute truth. Sometimes the easiest and most direct route, the route of least resistance, tromps us through some chaos. This week? Expect shakeups. Just make sure if they are hitting you? You put them to good use!

Coming Up in Tarot

Five of Pentacles & Ten of Swords: Shakeups 2

If I pull a Five of Pentacles (or 5 of Earth, as it’s called in the Good Tarot) for the weekly forecast, good chance I’m going to pull a second card for more guidance. Because, ouch! Here, the extra insight comes in the form of the Ten of Swords. Again, ouch! Finally, we’ve got Violet from Botanical Inspirations, associated with faithfulness and modesty to round out the trio.

Traditionally, the Five of Pentacles points to feelings of lack, being left out in the cold and alone. But thing is, the lack we’re talking with this card is always at least partially illusionary. Tarot fives denote conflict and this conflict? Internal, baby! Chances are, it’s YOU counting yourself out when this card shows up. Know there is help readily available if specifically sought out. And in terms of advice? The Ten of Swords suggests a multi-faceted, from-the-ground-up approach. The Violets suggest being open to learning and faithful to your most important aims here. So, what does this mean in practical terms?

Helpful breaks coming in this week may not be packaged how you’d expect. Understand that resources include MUCH more than the cash in your wallet. Realize that these disruptions can be absolute gold in helping you reach a higher level of competence in whatever area of life they hit. Know that from a higher perspective, you have and are receiving far more blessings than you may be able to see at the given moment.

Opt-in to appreciate. Gratitude immediately softens the energy and helps you shift to a place where you’re more likely to be able to receive intuitive inspiration. And let’s be very clear, here: we WANT the inspiration!

If you’re feeling strung out, put upon and all by your lonesome? Remind yourself it is a transitional thing. Start counting your blessings and count as many as you can find–even tiny ones. Don’t beat up on yourself for where you are or anything else, for that matter–it never helps. And don’t sit around feeling sorry for what doesn’t seem to be working.

That Ten of Swords would have us reassess the situation from the ground up. And please, don’t be too proud or put out to reach out. This has the potential to be a bumpy week. So take nothing for granted. Count each blessing twice! Be open to insights and guidance, regardless of the source. They WILL come to you. Your job is to soften up your emotional state enough you can receive the incoming here. Because that incoming inspiration is what’s going to get you through to the other (better) side of anything and everything. So open up for it!

Are you in the middle of a shakeup?

For some one-on-one support through the transition, give me a holler.

Picking Perspective: Tarot Forecast, Nov 7 – Nov 13, 2016

One of my websites was a mess. I set about to fix it last night and it took me…I dunno. Six hours? Eight hours? Something like that. A tedious process, one page, one post at a time.

But I’m not looking for sympathy.

I could have easily gotten mad about the update that broke my site. Or cussed the developers and sent them nasty emails and social media complaints insisting they fix what they broke. The thought did cross my mind. I felt that decision point acutely, once I realized what was going on. Be upset or just dig in and do it?

Truth or not, blame wasn’t going to fix my mess, and it certainly wasn’t going to make me feel any better. Blame feels lousy–and powerless. The only thing that was going to fix my mess was me! And it could be hard–I could angry and upset for the hours I worked on it. Or it could be easy–glad I have the skills and knowledge to figure out what needed to be done and the time to just sit down and do it.

One step, one step, one step at a time. Methodically, clearly, one step at a time. Each step takes us closer.

There are  lot of things in this world like this. Life is messy and sticky and sometimes, kind of ouchy. You know? I use a trivial example but in the big scheme of existence, it’s the same principles holding for issues big or small. Most of the time, fault doesn’t matter. Only desired outcome matters. Only focus matters.

Focus and perspective determine your subjective experience. And we’re damn lucky that’s the case. Because perspective is self-induced and self-directed. Meaning we have control, and the freedom to decide what our experience is going to feel like. This is going to depend entirely on you. And this coming week is kind of like that.

Tarot Forecast Nov 7, 2016

This week? Would be a good idea to be aware of your perspective. We’ve got a mix of suits, with several inverted cards at the beginning of the week. So expect a slowish start, but it is what it is Overall, the questions, “How big a deal is this, really? What can I do to get where I want to be?” will serve you very well here.

Monday, Eight of Swords rx: Those doors that feel closed and locked are not locked and they are only closed because you’ve decided they are. You have options, always. Right here and right now, you have options you have not been seeing. Today, you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of those options if you’re open to that. You can make significant and quite perceptible shifts if you take advantage of this window of opportunity. Look for them! Don’t be the only thing standing in your own way, dude.

Tuesday, Three of Cups rx: Some comfort in chitchatting with friends and social communities, but it’s incomplete. Whatever you share, be judicious about it. And be aware of how invested you are in other people’s lives. There is support, but it’s good to always retain status as one’s own guiding light.

Wednesday, Page of Swords rx: If you are signing agreements, read twice. Potential for something “just not quite right” in written material. Also potential for lies to be flitted about. If you can wait to sign an agreement, that would be good. If you cannot, that’s okay; for contract or verbal agreements,  though, double check the particulars.

Thursday, Ten of Swords: Many may be feeling overwhelmed with too much to do, think, handle, or figure out. Too much, too much, too much! Pace yourself, prioritize and don’t take on too much. And please don’t criticize yourself for being where you are. Just a little at a time, a little at a time, and feel good about every single step. One step at a time.

Friday, Strength: This vibe feels easier and more stable today. To deal with the flavor of yesterday’s energy, Strength suggests a gentle, but persistent approach, a light touch, over and over works well. Don’t go in gangbusters during the time. Deal gently, lightly, easily, confidently, a little and a little and a little and keep going. You’ve got what it takes to manage what you need to. Use a light touch, being persistent. Not insistent, persistent.

Saturday, Seven of Wands rx: Could express this energy as going along with the crowd even though you don’t agree, or as someone going underground with their beliefs and feelings to avoid conflict. It could manifest even as unexpected support for your convictions from quarters you didn’t expect. Just be aware of polarization and don’t hesitate to withdraw and eep your own counsel. Nothing wrong with that.

Sunday, Four of Wands rx: Would rather see it upright, but still a nice card. You can have harmony, a safe and happy place. as long as you don’t insist everyone feels and thinks they way you do. You can have an oasis in the storm but you have to create it yourself and carry it around with you. In other words, it’s built on internal perspective.

[bctt tweet=”Peace of mind is always homemade. #OnMyRadar” via=”no”]

Overview/Advice, Five of Cups rx: Be aware of potential for emotional overreaction and making a much bigger deal of things than they need to be. This is a vibe at large and MAN are we seeing it all over the place!  Take a deep breath (or 100), dial it back and let it play out before declaring the world as we know it has ended. Slow down.

Affirmation: I am willing to let go. There have been times I’ve been convinced things MUST go a certain way because it mattered so much. Sometimes, it did go my way but lots of times, not really. Not even close. And the world somehow didn’t implode. The suffering I felt was directly related to my willingness to let go of what was not within my control and live my own life and not try to fix others’ lives. Even others I loved very, very much. Whether it’s kids, spouse, friends, family, country, or, or, or, whoever it is, the only way it can stay alive and active in your experience is if you focus with thoughts, feelings, etc. The more energy you put into it, the more you attract of a similar feeling tone. If you don’t like it, give it as little attention as possible. Let it go and move on!

How are you doing managing your perspective?

Failure, Kindness and Joy: Tarot Flow Forecast, May 2 – 8, 2016

What does it mean, to be a good person? A good mom? A good daughter, spouse or friend? Those are questions in my head–and how I stack up, or not, are also in my head. In particular, how other people perceive me versus how I perceive myself is being highlighted now.

I’m not sure it’s the same for everybody, but I am seeing the trending theme of people examining where they feel they’ve failed, in pretty close up detail.

It’s not a fun hobby, deconstructing failure. But it can be productive.

[bctt tweet=”Without a clear definition of failure, how can you know you’ve succeeded? #OnMyRadar” username=”goddess_dix”]

It really is raw out there right now and people are withdrawing to sort, revisit the past and, hopefully, to heal. So please, be as kind as you possibly can to ALL–and this includes yourself.

Tarot Forecast May 2 - 8 2016

We’re in an astrological retrograde soup and will be for a while–which fuels all this turning inward, looking to the past, and revisiting old issues. Mercury in among those retrograding (until 5/22) so the usual warnings like double-checking plans and expecting communication snafus apply. Like this vibe or not, doesn’t have much import here. When I feel frustrated with the slowdowns and reviews, I try to remember they really are necessary and helpful, whether or not they always feel good subjectively. The review flavor definitely is heavily imprinted in this week’s forecast.

Monday, Heartache & Loss – Five of Wands: Conflict has a price. Sometimes it’s necessary, for sure. But it does involve loss, so factor in all the costs when deciding to take up arms. Potential to be on any side of this equation. But maybe you’ll just be bystander and know to take a step back; that’s a distinct possibility, too. Sorry–this isn’t the sweetest start to the week! But I draw what I draw, you know?

Tuesday, Emotional Withdrawal – King of Swords Rx: If you KNOW you’re not thinking clearly, back off from the hustle to care for yourself! If someone else is snapping at you, assume they are not thinking clearly and go into turtle mode (at least with your connection here) until the emotional weather is clearer. You can mingle and interact without issue. Just don’t internalize words that do not feel okay or otherwise work for you and you’ll do just fine.

Wednesday,  Triumphant Success – Page of Pentacles Rx: Thank God, we’re getting a break! You can lose the obsessiveness vibe if you choose to focus on the gratitude factor. And for the love of all that’s holy, try to accept compliments with some grace, will ya? Don’t argue. Don’t dismiss. The appropriate response is, “Thank you.”

Thursday, Disruption – Two of Wands Rx: Plans go awry. It’s not disaster, but it is disruptive and it calls for flexibility. Laugh it off as much as possible and take the alternate route.

Friday, Foundation & Achievement – Ace of Pentacles: Past work is paying off. Woot! Possibility for a modest financial gain, recognition or otherwise optimistic and promising news. I’ll take it!

Saturday, Financial & Material Changes – Ten of Swords Rx: Recovery and healing is indicated here. Coming off of yesterday’s news, there’s potential for a “drop in the bucket” feeling around prosperity and resources. Don’t sink into the consciousness of lack here. Acknowledge the IMPROVEMENTS because you know what? They are there and they count. Avoid self-chastising about how you “should be further along by now.” You are where you are and in case you haven’t noticed, the trend is on recovery and building. TAKE IT and run! Nothing else is truly helpful. Be glad for trending up and be grateful for what you do have.

Sunday, Solitude – High Priestess Rx: You need more than quiet time–you need to quiet your brain. Mindfulness and peace refresh and recharge you. Art work, time in nature, cooking, gardening, hiking, or shopping are a few ideas for tapping into this quiet time. Naps totally work here. There’s a need to get away from the bustle and noise not only of the world, but especially in your brain! What helps you turn off your brain chatter? Do that.

Overview/Advice, Power King of Pentacles: Generosity is what gets you through this week. Be generous with yourself: plenty of rest, great quality food, contact with people who love you, self-care and down time all help tremendously. Be kind! The King of Pentacles is very kind and he can be your model this week.

IMG_5117Affirmation: Tangerine – Be Spontaneous & Have Fun. Laughter is healing. Looking at the energy of this week we’ve got a two options. We can look at what we DO NOT have–and fill our souls with worry and angst. Or we can look at what we DO have, and reach for joy and hope as a result of that focus. It evens out the rough patches. It fuels your creativity and therefore, your problem solving abilities. And oh yeah…it feels really good!

Prescription, JOY! You got that? Call upon the Sacral Chakra, and activate joy. It helps so much!

And be well out there. ♥

Leveling Up: Weekly Tarot Forecast, Feb 29 – Mar 6

“It’s intense. Not bad necessarily, but very intense.”

She had that deer-in-the-headlights,-what-the-Hell-is-that-supposed-to-mean look.

I was talking about the upcoming eclipses, and how it’s felt since the recent full moon in Virgo.

I wasn’t trying to be scary but, you know. People would prefer sunshine and daffodils.

“Well, you know all these changes you’re going through recently? It’s really hard right now. Stressful. The changes are not bad–they’re for the better in the long run. All of them are good. The work you’re doing now is very hard, but it’s going to a good ends. And it all counts! Next week, you’ll have made a lot of progress from this week.”

She agreed.

“And I’m in the same boat, with my projects. It’s intense. Overwhelming sometimes. But with a purpose and a payoff.”

And this, my friends, is what this next week is about. Might not like the feelings now–most of us might be more than a little tired. But the point of all that effort is firmly intact. And it’s worth it.

We’re in the process of leveling up. That means the stakes are a little higher, and the work is a little harder. But the rewards are also a little sweeter. Like it or not, matters not to the Universe. So do your best and insulate yourself.

Oh, and one more thing? With Eclipse season upon us, what we’re doing now, what we’re working through has IMPACT. So…do your best to do your best, okay? Meaning, don’t cash in your integrity for an apparently easy shortcut or gain.

Do the RIGHT THING, whether you think you’re being watched or not. It always matters, but now? It matters even more than usual. Pressure is high and many situations will intensify to the crux. You want to be above reproach if anything happens to come crashing down in your lap, you know?

March 8 is the first Eclipse and it’s gonna be a doozy. Don’t say I didn’t give y’all a heads up on this…

20160213_171944_HDR

Ah, the cards. I’m seeing evidence of the incoming eclipse and general, highly sensitized astro-weather out there, in next week. I am expecting emotions to be veritably crackling and largely visceral, especially the first part of the week. Thursday through the weekend looks much easier to manage. But Tuesday and Wednesday are high alert days, just so you know.

Monday, Judgement Reversed: Who do you most often blame when something goes wrong? Other people? Yourself? Default patterns are usually less-than-useful. Potential of missing important information due being wedded to a particular narrative. Keep an open mind in anticipation that the story may be quite a bit different than you initially thought.

[bctt tweet=”Whose fault is much less relevant than, ‘what now?’ #tarot”]

Tuesday, Three of Swords: Ow! Sorry, there’s no pretty spin for the Three of Swords. This card shows a loss, and the hurting over that loss. Now, since this is a public forecast, I can certainly wish this feeling is not personal to you! But there’s a good chance, it’s going to be personal to somebody–including maybe somebody you interact with. So step lightly with compassion, and carry tissue. Kindness is the order of the day.

Wednesday, Ten of Swords: Too much! The Ten of Swords shows up when we feel overwhelmed, betrayed, tapped out and back-stabbed. It’s the rock-bottom feeling we’re talking. Although there is a smidge of a bright side with this card–no place to go but up. Schedule extra downtime today and make space in your schedule for self-care. Time to tend to your wounds and get yourself a good night’s sleep. Everything will unquestionably look better in the morning.

Thursday, Six of Wands: Yes! A rebound! Take a deep breath, put on your ass-kicking shoes, and go forth to face the challenges of the day. You have the capacity to conquer them.

Friday, Queen of Wands: Focus and determination in equal mix with passion is the recipe for success. Not bull-headedness…unless it’s something you really need to be bull-headed about. Some issues are worth digging your heels in over, you know? And as always with the Wands Royalty, be sure you’re not being a control-freak all over other people. Only control-freak yourself, man.

Saturday, Page of Cups: A little case of the feels, today. Be kind, and spend time with others who are kind. Loving energy always heals but today? Loving kindness is super-charged. Take advantage.

Sunday, Ace of Swords Reversed: Plans probably won’t go as planned. This is not a huge problem–we’re talking loose plans or early stages here. So lean into your power of flexibility to make up any lost ground. You can save the day with quick thinking.

Overview/Advice – The Magician: To make this week work, attending to your thought processes and focusing on what you DO have control over will be paramount. I find the Magician a very encouraging card in this position, because he reassures me, people will indeed have the magic powers they need to navigate any difficulty successfully. Remember, the gift of the Magician is in channeling the energy sources available to him. He takes the same things everybody else may have it hand, but uses them intentionally. So throughout the week, as you’re allocating your energy, your thoughts, your actions, do so deliberately and intentionally. This will help you sail over any rough patches and come out the other side feeling accomplished.

Affirmation: I am beautiful and everybody loves me. This affirmation always cracks me up. On a surface level, it’s so obviously untrue. I know there are people who do not love me! However, I also know people frequently underestimate how many people do love them. Here’s what I’m thinking, it terms of advice: see your own beauty. Assess yourself as kindly as you would a dear, beloved friend. Only allow people into your inner circle who DO actually love you. I am considering this affirmation not so much a reflection of some sort of objective reality as advice, for creating the reality you would like. Act in accordance with what you find beautiful in yourself. Only do those things in private that you would not be ashamed to have known publically. Only invite kind, loving and loyal people into your world. Don’t give the assholes a vote! You do this, and this affirmation can be true. You just have to decide to make it so.

How are you faring out there?

Solutions vs. Blame: Tarot Forecast, Nov. 16 – 22, 2015

“Wise people seek solutions; The ignorant only cast blame.” -Tao Te Ching

Thor the Warrior Kitten is not having any of what I’m serving this week. He looks like he’s laying blame, but I suspect his solution is for me to leave him alone.

Hurt feelings are on my mind this week. Who did what, who said what, who can be trusted and who cannot?  Maybe it’s leftover from the Scorpio new moon? I don’t know. But tender feelings and frustrations are on my radar.

I don’t dig the place that line of thinking can take me sometimes. Doesn’t mean I always catch myself before I go there, but I always feel kind of crummy about it once I’m there. Every human being alive has been wronged–and wronged others. Ugly side effect of imperfection. So why do we get all obsessive about one or the other side of that equation? The Guilt Trip Express just never arrives at a lovely destination.

If you find yourself hopping on the “how dare they” train, ask yourself, “Does it accomplish anything?” Because we have a finite amount of energy. I’d rather expend mine on moving forward than looking back.

Weekly Tarot Forecast Nov 16 - 22

Next week, it looks like we’ll have some opportunity to put such resolutions to the test. I’m seeing themes surrounding allies and enemies, blame and solutions.

Monday, Judgement Reversed: Who’s at fault? Don’t know. Don’t care. What matters today is fixing it. Take care of business and do what needs to be done. The laundry list of blame can be filled out another day if it’s even helpful at all. Priorities here are functional and pragmatic: damage control, moving forward, what comes next.

Tuesday, Ace of Wands: Do what you can accomplish on your own, even if it’s just a little start. It’s a move in the right direction. Creative spark can steer you toward some interesting solutions if you’re open to the possibilities.

Wednesday, Page of Swords: Be clear with your words to make sure your messages are heard. Say what you mean and all that. Boundaries are helpful. Do be aware of feelings–this guy can blurt at times. But still, don’t sacrifice the primary meaning by putting too many frills on the message. Kind, clear and matter-of-fact should work.

Thursday, Ten of Swords: Ouch. That’s all, just ouch…Okay. Deception can come to light. I’m getting this like overhearing what was supposed to be a candid comment and it’s upsetting, not consistent with your previous understanding.

Friday, Eight of Wands Reversed: Confusing day. Chaotic, mixed signals, crossed wires. Ground and regroup as required!

Saturday, The Lovers: Seek comfort in the arms of another! Or at least in the company of those in tune with YOU. And hey, if that’s a party of one, so be it!

Sunday, King of Cups Reversed: Keep emotional floodgates locked down, lest you overreact. Feelings are not right or wrong. They just are. But post-meltdown regret can be very real. Reign it in, or nap it out.

Overview/Advice, Strength: Okay, this is encouraging! It doesn’t take superhuman effort to stay on course this week. Just steady, guided pressure. You CAN do it. You merely need to remain fully present and aware. If you stay on top of yourself, the week will not get out of hand.

Affirmation: Don’t fall in love with ideas. The same would go for perceptions, stories, worldviews, ideology, hero status, victim status, and  miscellaneous convictions. Consider your “knowledge” a working theory and you’re on track. Be OPEN to what there is to see.
