Do and Process: Weekly Flow Tarot, Apr 27 – May 3

Weekly Flow Tarot Forecast

It can take weeks, months, or years to fully grasp the impact of transitional events. This week looks sort of like one of those “getting it” weeks to me. I’m seeing a call to surrender, letting the Universe have it’s way. I mean, it’s going to anyway. So do you want to be swimming upstream against that?

The Tarot Tens are really jumping out and saying, “Hello!” Tens can be an almost overwhelming vibe in Tarot, as they are the culmination of much energy built up and manifest in the solid, signaling endings that ultimately are what allow for new beginnings.

That means we’re still in our cleaning and purging cycle. We have mostly wands and swords, so we’ll be splitting up energy between thinking and doing. Do and process, do and process.

Monday, Heartache and Loss – Two of Cups: Well, Ouchie Monday, right there! I don’t think we’re  talking about actual loss of love. This looks more like feeling lost, sadness over an emotional disconnection or missing someone. Feeling an absence of some sort. And while there is discomfort, there are also advantages. Very helpful to realize this–or realize the feeling is coming from within, if that’s the case.  One of my keywords for the two of cups is “harmony.” How does the feeling of harmony factor in to your life, right now?

Tuesday, Partnership & Alliance (Sacral Chakra, Throat Chakra) – Queen of Wands: I didn’t pull out the chakra cards from this deck and they wanted to come out and play. So, especially in all joint ventures, speak clearly, speak true and speak from the heart. Consider what gives you joy and feeds you creatively as relevant! This Queen is a very passionate woman, true to her identity and ideals.  She means what she says. So that’s your goal for today: say what you mean and mean what you say.

Wednesday, Movement, Choices, Decisions – King of Wands Reversed: Progress has that pesky habit of not abiding by your timetable. Nothing to do but feel gratitude for what you’ve got thus far and keep rolling with it. The King of Wands always lands on his feet, eventually! Spend some time feeling good about progress before making decisions today. This helps shift your energy into a positive frequency, which leaks all over to everything you do in that state. It’s actually a pretty cool trick.

Thursday, Recognition and Reward – Ten of Swords: Acknowledgment from the heavy lifting you’ve done in the past. This can be external – serving as an inspiration through your battles. Or internal, as in seeing the incredible gifts you’ve managed to extract from tumultuous transitions. Acknowledge what has made you so much stronger.

Friday, Disruption – Ten of Pentacles Reversed: May be a minor disappointment with a family member, or feeling like a partial disappointment to your own family. Don’t sweat this too much. Even reversed, this is a very positive card. It’s possible the disappointment is imaginary, even. Another way this could manifest with someone’s “perfect family” or “perfect life” that really isn’t. Keep in mind, perfection isn’t a realistic goal to strive for…improvement is. Excellence is attainable.

Saturday, Power – Ace of Swords: Rescued from any of the week’s fears, doubts or disappointments by the Ace of Swords: one clear idea. A single thought, understanding or concept can really give you power right now. If you’re not sure where to find it, give yourself some quiet time to listen.

Sunday, Conflict & Defeat – Ten of Wands: Are you overcommitted, overbooked or overwhelmed? Damn. This combo really makes me want to eat some comfort food and follow up with a nap. Consider that an official recommendation.

Overview/Advice – Seven of Cups: External appearances may be misleading…or not. That’s the thing. You don’t know! Sometimes, what feels like the worst thing in the world ends up becoming your greatest blessing. Sometimes that beautiful blessing ends up having unmanageable baggage. The key to getting the most out of whatever life experiences come your way is practicing detachment.

Affirmation: Archangel Raphael: “Give your cares and worries to us angels, and allow us to take your burden.” Now, whether you believe in literal angels or not, you can still release your fears to God, or the Universe, or the fates, or your higher self–whomever or whatever you consider as the powers that be.

This week is a call to gain perspective. We’re reaching for a new clarity on old business and there is no way to do that AND stay married to your current storyline, driven to maintain a certain narrative. Instead, observe and release. Observe and release. Allow whatever feelings that arrive to surface and let them flow through (and out) of you. That’s the way you make leaps forward. You cannot jump way ahead if you’re holding up the wall where you stand.

[Dixie: Specializing at torturing metaphors until they scream, all for your reading pleasure.]

If you’re ready, the light could really come on this week. It won’t come through struggle, though. It will come via surrender, allowing clarity to emerge on it’s own time, wading through the outgoing reality until you make it through to the other side.

Do and process, do and process.

How’s your week looking?

You know, it’s been a while since I’ve done anything with the Transparent Tarot and I miss it. That deck is incredibly direct, and it can just sing sometimes. So I’ve been thinking about doing some work with it.

And I just realized that my website forms were NOT working right…ack! Once I fixed that up, I decided to do a special to celebrate.

So for at least a week, I’m taking focused questions for a Transparent Tarot to do it’s bang-on magic, $20.

Sorting: Weekly Forecast, Apr 20 – 26

Tarot ForecastLast week, we were cleaning out closets. This week? It’s sorting through the ensuing mess.

You know how it is. The mess gets bigger before it gets smaller.

When you clean your closet, you take the time to notice what’s what’s really buried in there, and examine each piece of clothing. And for each one you decide, “Is this something I want to keep in my life? Does it fit in with the rest of my wardrobe?”

This week, we’re sorting through “life accessories” – the attitudes, the people, the situations, behaviors and beliefs we’ve long owned. To be successful, you’re going to need to be honest, both with others but firstly, especially, with yourself. Because if you try to pull something over on yourself this week, it’s basically 50/50 you’ll be called out and have to face the truth with an audience. Eeek!

Lots of court cards showed up, which tells me people and their personalities are central to the week’s shuffle. Even many of the topical cards are strongly associated with relationships and groups. So the folks that put out the extra effort to play nice with others will have a distinct advantage the coming week.

Monday, Power – King of Wands: This looks like a solid, on-top-of-it kind of day. I’d say, use any powered-up feeling to it’s best advantage and move, step by step, to take care of business.

Tuesday, Disruption – The Empress Reversed: Beware put-on, exaggerated or phoney caretaking gestures. Overly-parental behavior, out of it’s appropriate context, is disruptive. The “it’s all for you” ruse will be transparent today. So don’t try it yourself!

Wednesday, Partnerships & Alliances (Sacral Chakra)- Temperance Reversed: It’s fine to get together with friends or discuss business over dinner or drinks. Enjoy yourself, but within moderation no matter what you’re indulging in. Okay?

Thursday, Heartache and Loss – Page of Swords Reversed: Bluntness can be hurtful and lead to actual loss or breakups if not kept in check.

Friday, Spiritual Strength – Queen of Pentacles, Reversed: Make sure you take care of yourself. This looks like running on fumes.

Saturday, The Waiting Game –Ten of Pentacles: Gradually work toward that whole package, okay? Cultivate the family relationships (and situations) that you want. Above all, APPRECIATE the family blessings you already have! Gratitude pays dividends. This can be impatience to reach a destination, sure…but with the proper framing, it can just as easily be contentment with a pleasant form of the journey.

Sunday, Trapped in Fear (Crown Chakra) – Ten of Swords: Too much incoming stimulation! This would be a great time to ground, disconnect from highly emotive people or situations, and shut down right now.

Overview/Advice – Page of Wands Reversed: Mind your tongue and don’t overstate or exaggerate yourself because this week? It’s like broadcasting it. Restraint can be your keyword.

Affirmation, Clear your Space – Archangel Jophiel: “Get rid of clutter, clear the energy around you and use feng shui.” Those life accessories that don’t match your soul any more? Trash ’em. You don’t need it.

Are you “sorting” now?

Over Budget: Weekly Flow Tarot, March 16 – 22

As I write this week’s column, I’m thinking of (or maybe avoiding) looking up the metaphysical cause of allergies. My eyes are a little swollen, but I’ve put off the allergy meds for a bit because I wanted to finish writing without feeling drunk.

Somehow, that seems to fit this forecast. Blind or drunk, take your pick. Either way, my energy is over budget. :)

Look for a week in which there is an active supportive cast: we’ve got 4 court cards showing up. And it will be especially important to pay attention to your health in everyday ways, because there’s a real potential for getting run down and strung out if you don’t stay on top of it. That having been said, if you can balance out the stress with some recreation, it will help a lot.

Monday, Relationship –  Reversed Knight of Pentacles: May be a tendency to nitpick or criticize. Which, you can totally control this! Especially if you know. Don’t take it personally if it feels like someone is picking on you, and don’t unnecessarily pick on someone else. Use your powers of discrimination for good, not evil!

Tuesday, Coworkers –  Page of Cups: Aw, that’s nice! Looks like the people you team up with for tasks are supportive and helpful. There’s comfort in working together, so take any opportunities that crop up to connect with others on a project. There’s a general sense of emotional understanding in business contacts today.

Wednesday, Disappointment –  King of Pentacles: Gosh, that version of the King of Pentacles looks kinda lazy, doesn’t he? One of the downsides of this King is that he can get overly caught up in creature comforts, and sometimes miss the trees and the forest both! The disappointment here has the possibility of being related to laziness or self-involvement. I don’t know whose, but maybe you do!

Thursday, Partner –  The Emperor reversed: I totally would avoid handing out orders and edicts today. Do you really want to see if they are followed? Look more for cooperative approaches and try to reach consensus with your spouse, loved one or partner in crime for the best result today.

Friday, Clarification –  Reversed Ten of Wands: Have you (or someone around you) been running on overwhelm? Who has been trying to carry way too much? This explains the earlier part of the week in my mind. Over booking and never saying “no” catches up eventually. Today may well be “eventually.”

Saturday, Health –  Ten of Swords: Ow! Not what I’d prefer to see in the “Health” position. Okay, well, anywhere. But this is a logical follow up to yesterday. We are also in the Tarot tens, which means we’re at the end of this run. So take some encouragement from that. Rest and rejuvenate if you can. Acknowledge if you’re feeling run down and worn out. We’re talking either physically or emotionally as well. Take some vitamins and turn in early if that’s an option. Don’t push too hard.

Sunday, Negative Influences –  Two of Swords reversed: The problem is, the decision has not been made. Are you trying to hedge your bets, perhaps? Commit and commence. If it doesn’t work out, you’ll recover but at least you won’t regret missed opportunities and wasted time. Realize the hem-hawing, noncommittal approach has costs.

Overview/Advice –  Reversed Queen of Pentacles: Don’t invite the whole neighborhood to dinner. Just invite the people you really like—and the ones who actually “feed” you, too. This is the approach I’d suggest all week. Commit firmly, but not indiscriminately. You know? Calculate the costs before saying “yes” and you’ll be better able to avoid over-budgeting.

Affirmation: Play. Ah, what an lovely affirmation! There is plenty of work and responsibility showing up for this week, with worries and careful management required to navigate. So the perfect response to that is balancing out the week with some fun. You don’t need me to tell you twice, right?

Have you been feeling your energy is over budget?

Don’t be a Diva – Weekly Tarot Forecast, Mar 9 – 15

In a nutshell, we’re looking at a week where there is neither time nor energy for diva behavior. I’d say a humble, down-to-earth orientation will serve you very well. Some potential for conflict here. Ironic, since I pulled out the Housewives Tarot because I wanted something a little fun; I wanted a bit of cheering up. Yet another indication, the cards are gonna say what the cards are gonna say.

I do find it notable, the number of orange, topical cards, which represent people.  And we’re dealing mostly with the suits of Swords and Wands, so we’re looking at a very active week, perhaps with some ouch. However, no Major Arcana suggests any discomfort this week probably isn’t of the life changing variety. Fair enough!

Monday, Disappointment –  Eight of Swords: What’s holding you back is YOU. This may come, not only as shock, but probably disappointment if not downright annoyance. It’s so much nicer to be able to project that sort of thing. Sorry!

Tuesday, Partner –  Ten of Swords: A partner may be utterly overwhelmed or  feeling very hurt, even betrayed. At the very least, don’t expect messages to be returned promptly. It’s not necessarily personal…although that’s a possibility. Just know that people struggle with much that the eyes cannot see. The story will likely surface later on.

Wednesday, Coworkers –  Knight of Pentacles Reversed: Who is maybe lazy, cutting corners or doing sloppy work? You may have to correct someone else’s mistakes at the office today. If you didn’t do it yourself, double check it. And don’t be the sloppy one yourself, for goodness sakes.

Thursday, Relationship –  Ten of Wands Reversed: I always see this card reversed as a big, fat release. In the context of relationship, we’re looking at either moving past old baggage, or merely ceasing to give a damn, This isn’t the day to make mountains out of molehills. Better to declare the molehills immaterial and move the Hell on. Word?

Friday, Others –  Seven of Wands: Somebody is probably on a mission. Be aware of how beliefs, alternative agendas and spiritual orientation may impact behavior. There’s more to those “it’s the principle of the thing” battles than what is visible on the surface.

Saturday, Spirit –  Four of Wands: Time out for healing! Rest, recreate and if you are in the company of others, choose those whom leave you feeling absolutely safe and supported. Enjoy this welcome break after a potentially challenging week.

Sunday, Clarification –  Seven of Swords Reversed: As far as enemies go, you are your own worst. (But then again, aren’t we all?) Believe people when they tell you who they are. Ignore your gut and those red flags if you want, but know it’s a choice doing so—your choice. This is a week nobody sneaks one past you without your permission on some level.

Overview/Advice –  Ten of Pentacles: I’m really glad to see this card upright showing up for the week as a whole! It more or less rescues the entire forecast. Take time throughout the week to focus on gratitude. Specifically identify not only loved ones, your “soul family,” but why you love them. If you’re not sure how you feel about something that comes up this week, any ambiguity that arises? Choose generosity. Be kind and nonjudgmental and choose generosity. That doesn’t mean ignore your gut. It just means don’t attach negative assessments to the “why” of other people’s “what,” you know what I mean? In other words, if my alarm buzzers go off, I will heed them, but I won’t create an unflattering story to go with them. I will appreciate the fact I am able to listen to my own inner voice, and leave the rest of the world to listen (or not) to theirs. If you truly invoke this energy, you can feel lucky and blessed pretty much independent of any external circumstance. I’d say that’s a pretty nifty trick, wouldn’t you?

Affirmation –  Decide. Didn’t we just get this one? In the context of this week’s forecast, well…you decide the path you take. You decide what you believe. You decide to be generous or stingy with how you attribute other people’s motivations. You decide what you want and you decide how you go about it. We can get universal support, but we’ve got to make the call first, on what we want to do. And then we have to ask for it. Regardless, there is a definite energetic boost that comes from deciding what you want. So do it!

How’s this fitting your week?

Authentic with Cautious Optimism: Weekly Flow Tarot, Feb 23 – Mar 1

Weekly Tarot Forecast Feb 23

I’m fairly well known for being the odd woman out, but it’s not because I try to be weird. It’s genuinely who I am, and allowing myself that freedom makes pursing my own dreams possible. And the forecast this week is sort of a personification of that very idea. I’m seeing a call to first become aware of where we are uncomfortable “fitting in” and finding ways to be more authentic instead. It’s not either/or, my way or yours. It’s being an distinct star, while still existing within a larger galaxy.

This week, the cards suggest a process of balancing self-assuredness with self-questioning. How do you know which worries are realistic threats versus which are not? How do you decide when to listen to the counsel of others versus when to go your own way? Those are issues we’re considering. There looks to be plenty happening overall with the preponderance of the Wands suit –  fire energy can both create and eliminate. In terms of significance, the end of the week has more impact than the beginning. That’s where the punch sits. I would not be surprised if there was some kind of epiphany that gets rolling on Saturday, but is more clearly felt on Sunday.

Monday, What is Hidden –  Four of Wands Reversed: False bravado, and a sense of almost-but-not-quite feeling at home is notable, albeit well camouflaged to most looking on. Consider a hesitancy to commit to a course of action as a clue, which particular topic(s) this feeling touches. Conversational pauses are pregnant (with insight). What’s not said says as much or more than what is said.

Tuesday, Crowning Influences –  Three of Wands: Focus on where you are going, not how you get there. Your end result is important here. Your expectations, your desires, your personal vision of “your ship coming in” holds sway. Put out the kind of energy you’d like returned to you. Also, understand that however you define success becomes the cornerstone from which day-to-day decisions are built upon. Clarity about your deepest desires can make the process much more effective.

Wednesday, Action –  Three of Cups Reversed: On top of your own desires (or confusion) sits “what everybody else thinks.” That can be a heavy bag to tote about! Others’ input is best neither wholesale adopted or out-of-hand rejected, but thoughtfully reviewed. Consider the counsel of community, but act upon personal convictions. Pay special attention to the areas where your inclinations differ from consensus, because those points of departure hold significance. Ultimately it’s your life to live, so live it the way you believe best, damn it!

Thursday, Clarification –  Seven of Wands: You know that part in the Hero’s Journey, where the protagonist says (a smidgen dramatically), “I have to do this alone”? That . This is a follow up from yesterday, taking a leave from the safety of the group to fight your own battles in your own way. As long as you are adhering to your own ethical standards, do what ya gotta do!

Friday, What to let go of in the Future –  The Magician: Yes, you can make your own way but you cannot make the way for everyone else! The Magician here reminds us that we do not control others even by carefully crafted approaches, and the illusion we sometimes may? Well, we’re going to have to release such notions if not today, soon. Control is best exercised at home, aimed squarely at oneself.

Saturday, Blocking or Covering –  The High Priestess: The unspoken is again a player in today’s dynamics. Unwritten rules, gut feelings without external confirmation, and what’s not said? The day drips with the energy of such non-events. Potential for emotional attachment to specific outcomes, which may block intuitive skills. If you’re trying to tune in, you may want to get quiet and pretend you’re considering someone else’s life for greater clarity. Sleep is especially beneficial for tidying up a cluttered head.

Sunday, Spirit –  Ten of Swords Reversed: What is clear now, that wasn’t at week’s beginning? Allow realizations to fully sink in, especially if they seem at first overwhelming. That’s how you process it. You may now be able to articulate what you sensed but couldn’t express yesterday. It’s helpful to shift to a more philosophical, broader perspective if you can, as it allows yourself more space to recover if required.

Advice/Overview –  The Star Reversed: Optimism is not unwarranted, but overconfidence is. Be just as wary of only seeing what you want to see as you are of declaring defeat before you get underway. Balance is the name of the game here. There will be ups and downs. “Cautiously optimistic” is the stance I’d advise this week.

Affirmation –  Call on your angels. Sometimes it’s frustrating, looking to the Universe to “tell us” what we should be doing. That’s not the way it works. We decide what we want ourselves. That’s our job! Then, once we know, we can call upon the Universe for help getting there. If you do want divine assistance, you have to ask explicitly for it. Short of extreme circumstances, you cannot expect intervention otherwise.

Are you seeing these kinds of questions arise in your week?

What Can You Feel Good About? Weekly Flow Tarot Forecast, Jan 26–Feb 2

Weekly Tarot Forecast

“Do what you can feel good about.” I’ve given this advice many times, both to others and to myself in the mirror when faced with a hurtful situation. Family issues, rejections, and betrayals can sometimes leave us simultaneously wanting to make up and strike back. So in trying to decide what’s appropriate, a yardstick that doesn’t try to measure anyone else’s behavior is incredibly helpful.

This week? It’s like that. Do what you can feel good about and what you’ve committed to do.

Most of this coming week looks pretty good! While I’m not crazy about the weekend which the cards suggest may lean toward the raw side, I believe we can use the energy of the rest of the week to carry us through. It looks to be a fast-pasted week with emotional notes, starting off with the Knight of Cups, and including the Chariot and a very busy Five of Wands. The orange topic cards are people, so both yourself, others and your relationship(s) play a major role as well. In other words, this week doesn’t appear in a vacuum, folks. I expect both conflict and comforts to come from your inner circle. So be aware.

Also remember, we’re still in Mercury retrograde. So there may be a little déjà vu of old news showing up to spice up your week. Be graceful and gracious, and always double check your facts before taking action here, and you should be fine.

Monday, Future Life – Prince of Cups: This card promises an upcoming emotional connection, or a deepening of an existing emotional connection. Knights’ energy is not static; it moves! In short, your feelings take you new places. Sometimes it’s pleasant and sometimes it’s not, but it’s definitely moving. So what do you think of that?

Tuesday, Mind – Two of Wands: A decision to be made. If you wonder, “Am I up to this? Can I hold my own here?” The Two of Wands answer is “Yes,” although you may not be as certain as I am.

Wednesday, You – Ten of Pentacles: You’re surrounded by a loving family (be they biological or chosen) and the richness of being a part of that community. Revel in being a part of such a group.

Thursday, Others – The Chariot: Ah, people around you are going places! Be a follower or be a leader, but whatever you do, don’t stand still. You’ll get left behind.

Friday, Relationship – The Moon: This could go either way. There could be mystery and magic afoot, or it could turn out-and-out crazy on a dime. I would advise scrupulous honesty in all relationships. The Moon can show up for lies, and that’s not really the energy you want to invoke here. Don’t push for hard facts. Just allow interactions to take shape and don’t discount the power of emotions in creating reality.

Saturday, Hopes and Fears – Five of Wands: Either there is worry a conflict will never end, or an itching to kick some ass. Keep the temper in check.

Sunday, What You Can’t Change – Ten of Swords: Whoever has hurt you, it’s done. Whoever has not been true, it’s done. Facing up to the full impact is not fun by any stretch, but it’s the hardest part of betrayals. Once that’s over, the healing can really get underway.

Overview/Advice – Four of Wands: Regardless of what others do, honor your commitments and do what YOU feel good about. Your goodwill may waver based on others’ behavior, but your integrity should not. Stand by your word.

Affirmation: The Universe is Big Enough to fulfill my every intent. I am thinking of this in terms of expectation versus reality. I may EXPECT to get my desires in a straightforward, linear fashion because I’ve been “good” and tried my best to do my work. I may get disgruntled if I start at point A and life throws me a tsunami and I realize I’m so far away from my pre-identified point B that I can not longer find it in my radar.

But our vision is so very limited and sometimes, what we end up with is much different that what we envisioned. Doesn’t mean we’re not moving ahead or growing. It only means it’s not in the way we might have plotted it. We need both a deliberate intent for who we want to be, and the flexibility to ride the flow and discover new alternatives. At times, that ugly package is the Universe’s biggest gift and we just didn’t know. Wherever you are, make the best of it and know that if you surrender to the flow, you’ll get much further than if you fight it. Don’t ask “how” you’ll get there so much as focusing on the what you want your life to be about. That vision, attention to where you are going, is what gets you there. Fixation on the rocks brings pain. Fixation on the destination keeps you tracking ever towards it.

Hope you have a wonderful week and manage to sidestep the rocks. And if in doubt, remember, do what you feel good about! Everything else (eventually) falls into place. Much love.

How’s your week looking?
