11/17/11: Rewarding Family Life | Reversed Ten of Pentacles, The Chariot

Today’s Everyday Tarot is the the Reversed Ten of Pentacles (Mercury in Virgo) and the Chariot (Cancer) from the delightfully campy Housewives Tarot deck. With the Ten of Pentacles (prosperity, family life) coming in inverted, I’m inclined to see that card as descriptive, with the Chariot  (focus, drive) following as advice.

So okay. The family picture isn’t quite perfect yet—be it your immediate family, your work family, your family of friends or whatever. . Got it. But it is not that bad overall—just not quite where you want it to be.

What to do? Power on. Hop into your chariot, go to the store, and get your supplies. Keep going, and you’ll get where you want to go. Just check the GPS every once in a while to make sure you’re still on track. And keep going. You’ll get there, so long as you don’t’ run out of gas beforehand.

Is your family life (whatever the family) as rewarding as you’d like it to be?  Are you making progress getting it there?

Reversed Chariot | Owning Your Feelings and Nothing More

Take-home message from a reading…

Don’t worry so much about your focus, exactly where you’ll end up, who believes it is right and who believes it’s wrong. This isn’t an area you need to lead.

Especially don’t worry about taking care of others with these choices. How others feel is not yours to determine. Respect is not about doing what others believe is best for us, nor trying to make others do what we believe is best for them. Respect is trusting each individual to make their own decisions, as well as determine their own feelings about our decisions.

We are each our own spiritual director, you know?  Avoid the temptation of emotionally absorbing negative reactions. Some of what you question is not your own feelings, but those you absorb from others. There’s no reason for you to act on someone else’s feelings. I would also suggest working with some psychic self-defense, charging yourself with light and love whenever you start to absorb too much. Know what’s your and protect yourself from what’s not.

What does the reversed Chariot say to you?

Everyday Tarot, 07/30/11: Through Rocky Waters

Non-refundable ticket.

Chaos: we’ve got it! Disruption, confusion, and upheaval, complicated by the responsibility of keeping it all in check (because it impacts more than just the individual), not to mention aiming to function throughout. There’s no doubt something useful or important can be salvaged from this mess before it’s all over, but it’s damn hard to feel the lighter side right now. Sorry!

We’ve got the Two of Pentacles, The Tower and the Chariot on the left—it’s been a strain, trying to hold it all together, you know? The realization that a completely intact building doesn’t collapse is of little solace when you’ve been living in that building and didn’t want to move! Forces are pulling in opposing directions, amplifying the amount of control required to divide energy.

mystical--riverThe Lovers teams with the Six of Swords on the right. The Six of Swords is a card of insight, but it’s not a “High Priestess” flavor of deep, intuitive knowing. The Six of Swords perspective is hard-won, every shred of understanding well earned and paid for in full. The Lovers clue us in that this journey isn’t in search of balance between opposing forces, but to the space where you give what you can marry all the energy into a more unified whole, better reflecting your strength, values and intention. We’re traveling through the rocky waters in a boat full of sharp swords in search of harmony…

It’s no longer about who wins and who loses, fairness over who carries whom. It’s about finding that sweet spot, accepting weakness without judgment, but simultaneously building on and acting in concert with strengths. Lack of rancor does not equal stagnation. To get there, you must be willing to redefine the landscape. Travel plans have to remain flexible to incorporate changes of itinerary as you integrate and process the experience.

It’s not exactly a cushy ride. But it is a necessary and important trip. So make the best of it, okay?

When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others. – Peace Pilgrim

With all this Mercurial energy flirting with Neptune, I’ve been seeing nothing but lack of clarity everywhere I turn. I was looking for a little direction and definition when I pulled out the cards for Today’s Tarot forecast, thinking I should pull extras because I knew one wouldn’t be clear enough! So I opted for a simple, 3-card Mind / Body / Spirit spread.
