3 of Wands: Personal Choices

I’ve made a whole lot of moves over the years that 1. “sensible” people would consider a bad idea or at the very least, iffy, and 2. I couldn’t clearly see the outcome at the start.

Doing these things anyway has altered the course of my life. I’ve yet to regret a single one of those choices.

Moreover, they’ve taught me that if I take care to follow my inspiration in the moment–the one and only true point of power–the future takes care of itself.

That’s what the upcoming forecast reminds me.

Next Week in Tarot

Outlook is the Three of Wands; advice is the Six of Pentacles (Coins) reversed from the Legacy of the Divine deck. Well-loved cards!

Ever had an idea that you knew, right at the time it struck, was inspired? You felt in your gut you’d just had a great idea…until you started second-guessing yourself. Some of us start almost immediately talking ourselves out of inspirations. And we get ambiguous so we turn to others for reassurance.

Problem is, the energy you show up with is going to be reflected in others’ responses to you. So when you do the “should I or shouldn’t I?” dance, you take that angsty “I don’t know”  vibe and magnify it.

Others cannot provide that sense of excitement you feel with inspiration because you have to be in tune with it before you can feel it to begin with. And if you ARE in tune with it, you don’t give a big, fat diddly squat what anybody else thinks. See how that works?

Own your own diddly squats and protect them fiercely.

I also did a short video because, video!

Plans are still coming together. The future is on course, already. You don’t need to get yourself all wrapped up in the unfolding process, fiddling with the specifics and micromanaging the whole shebang. Doesn’t help!

Also? Don’t need to take a poll on what you should and shouldn’t be doing. Your cues are internal and frankly, we don’t need others talking us out of the wisdom carried in our own hearts, you know?

Mostly, we seek outside input when our energy is split–should I or shouldn’t I? It’s when we’re feeling uncertain, insecure or otherwise tentative that we look to others to shore us up.

Instead, cut to the chase. Get your own energy on straight first. Shore YOURSELF up and the outside support converges where your energy is already pointing. So many people try to operate the other way around and it’s always sluggish and messy.

Have you found this to be the case for you?

If you are looking to clarify what’s up with you (without being told what to do!), give me a holler for a personal consult.

Five of Cups Rx: Making Space for the Next Step

It’s been a weird week, hasn’t it? At least for me, it has. I’ve heard plenty of reports that out in the wild, it’s been the same.

And my allergies have been acting up, even indoors. So I’m walking around for the last week with a vague impression I’m about to cry or have recently cried: my face feels emotional! And it’s especially odd because the physical sensations of proximity to tears seem to color my perceptions at the same time. I’ve felt like I need to be gentle with myself because of it, you know?

Not that’s ever really bad advice. I think being gentle with yourself an being gentle with everybody else is always a good idea.

Just be kind. And in particular, next week is a good time to practice that kindness.

Next Week in Tarot

From The Star Tarot, this week’s outlook is the Five of Cups (coming in reversed) with advice as the Three of Wands (also reversed).

That R.E.M song comes to mind…Of course, it’s not the end of the world (even as we know it). It’s not even close.

But yeah…I do expect some space to open this week for most of us. Something ends. It may not be space you were looking to open up, though. Sorry about that.

Or maybe you’re somewhere similar to where I’ve been and feel a proximity to emotionality without a “logical” reason for it.

Doesn’t matter. Be kind and gentle, to yourself first and others you encounter. Feel whatever feelings show up. That’s what we do, right? Feel all the feelings and let them flow.

But when you’re done feeling the feelings, look ahead. Always, finish up by looking ahead. Being in the moment is always adequate preparation for taking the next step.

You won’t be able to see it clearly yet, but that’s okay. When we think we see clearly exactly what’s going to happen, that’s all an illusion anyway. At best, we can usually make out the next step or two.

And that’s enough. A little faith and the next step or two is all it takes.

How are you doing out there?

For a confidential one-on-one, drop me a line.

Three of Wands: What Do You Expect?

What do you expect?

I’m not asking in a preachy sort of way. There’s no chastisement here. It’s a simple, straight-up question.

What do you expect?

Because it matters. Expecting good paves the way for good.

[bctt tweet=”The better you expect, the better you’ll get. #OnMyRadar” username=”goddess_dix”]

I don’t “expect” anyone to take my word for it, though. My word means nothing in this context. Your experience has to bear it out for you. I expect it will.

Next week in Tarot

This week, we have the Three of Wands from the Tarot Illuminati, along with the Yellow Rose from Botanical Inspirations: Enthusiasm & Friendship.

Tarot threes indicate a birthing, new creation, or expansion. After the coupling/standoff of the Tarot twos, the threes are what is born from that process. In this Three of Wands, the figure is literally watching as his ships come in. He’s made his preparation and is awaiting the birth of results.

The yellow rose is associated with enthusiasm and camaraderie. Together with the Three of Wands, the suggestion is that we look at what we feel good about and like, expecting all to go well. We’re looking for a good feeling, good-natured sort of blending of energy. In this sweet spot, we are satisfied where we are, as well as expecting continued improvement. It’s an optimistic stance.

“Don’t create problems you don’t have” is one of my favorite bits of advice, even to myself. This is a time to heed that advice. Look for what’s right. There is no call to imagine things going poorly and fret over the imagined woes. If you find yourself doing that, time to back off, change the topic, distract or otherwise distance.

Worry is like a prayer for disaster. It’s not helpful and it’s not fun. Positive expectations, on the other hand, is a sort of preparation for improvement. It’s raising your vibration and it’s clearing the way.

Do you usually have positive expectations?

Want to make some adjustments with your expectations? Give me a holler for a 1-on-1 session.

Three of Wands: Journey to the True You

People think they’ll be happier when circumstances get better. Whatever “circumstances” bothering them at the time.

Really, it’s the other way around. Get happier, and watch those circumstances improve.

I’ll understand if you wanna slap me for saying that, though. Sometimes, I’m tempted to slap myself over such things coming out of my mouth.

And if it makes you feel better? Then you can think about slapping me. Just don’t do any real slapping. That’s assault, damnit.

When you’re neck deep in the craptastic, it’s hard to get a whiff of optimism. It’s hard to see anything but the mess that’s all over the floor. I understand.

You can usually ease it a bit though. Decide to do the best with what you’ve got right now, getting through it. Don’t have much choice anyway, right? So make peace with where you’re at. Don’t look for who is at fault or who is being ugly or what’s right and wrong. Blunt the pain a little bit by reminding yourself, it’s okay to be where you are at. You won’t always be there, but being there right now is okay and you’re doing what you can with it.

You don’t have control over the outside circumstances. You DO have at least some control over your perspective on it. Use that control to be as generous with yourself (and everyone else) as humanly possible.

And yes, you’ll want to set your sights on the future. You can expect it to continue major suckage, or you can expect it to brighten up.

Take a wild stab as to which one I’m going to suggest?

Next Week in Tarot

The Three of Wands/Fire from the beautiful (but still poorly-photographed-by-me) Good Tarot, is paired with Lilac from the Botanical Inspirations deckFirst Emotions of Love. Together, these cards suggest expecting good to come your way.

Start looking ahead optimistically. Specifically seek out what you love, what brings you joy and what you can appreciate.

I mean, you could expect the worst. Many people do and can make a solid argument to expect suffering. But why on Earth would you want to argue for that?

Looking for the goodness and the glimmers of hope just feels better. But it helps in a more substantial way, too. It helps you tune in to the flow. You connect easier. Guidance is more readily available. And an attitude of optimism is also more authentic, in that it’s more representative of who you are, at a core level.

I love the quote here on this lovely Lilac card.

“Love is the magician that pulls man out of his own hat.’ -Ben Hecht

Love DOES transform people, into purer versions of themselves. Nothing is more beautiful than eyes shining with love.  Love makes people grow and glow and their light ripples out to everyone in the vicinity.

[bctt tweet=”Tune in to optimism by focusing on what you love. #OnMyRadar” via=”no”]

If you’re feeling crummy, that’s okay. Just begin to expect a little relief. Be gentle and kind to yourself. Seek out what you love on the horizon like a kid looking for the ice cream truck. Tune in to it. Expect it. Listen for it. Be alert to it.

And you’ll see that good coming. That’s how you write your own story.

Need a little help getting tuned in? Give me a holler for a private consultation. And be well, friends!

Living the Microcosm: Weekly Tarot, May 1 – 7, 2017

“If you keep telling yourself the exact same stories about this, you’ll keep having the exact same feelings.”

I heard myself saying this to a friend recently. And like most of my best advice, it’s just as (annoyingly) applicable to the me as to the recipient! Maybe moreso, but I’m not gonna quibble either way.

STORIES matter, whether or not they ever find their way out of our mouths.

We craft and evaluate our own stories according to criteria that is better at keeping us stuck than moving us upward and onward. We try to accurately capture the feelings at the time, deepening that emotional groove with each recounting. We list and weigh facts as objectively as we can muster. We may look to persuade, presenting our cases and seeking agreement for our rightness or soundness of reasoning. I get it. It’s human nature and it’s what we have been taught is appropriate in recounting stories.

But you know what? If your stories are very faithful reruns of events you didn’t like, that is EXACTLY the energy you are activating each time that story comes to mind. That energy grows with your focus. Is that really where you want to go?

But what if you rewrote your stories? What we want and what we don’t want in any situation show use the polarities of every subject. Rather than picking up the “don’t want” end and running with it, justifying that repetition because it seems a more “true” version of events, why not shift your focus to only the “wanted” end. That side of the coin is just as real and you can work with it. It also feels a hell of a lot better.

Pretend for a minute that all is well–perfect actually, because it kind of is. Pretend that the Universe works as it should–because honesty, it does. Imagine that it’s not your job to extract any specific outcome, but simply to amplify energy you want in your life courtesy focus, using your feelings as guide to how you’re doing. Because yes, that is exactly how it works.

Keep a check on your stories. Experiment with cleaning them up to better reflect what you want to live instead of what you don’t want to repeat. Right now is a great time to rewrite stories and give them happier endings.

This week, don’t try to figure out long term implications for the world at large. Just live your own priorities true.

Oh man. The energy out in the wild has been wonky as Hell, huh? CHARGED. Electric and concentrated and driven. And most of all? Not so easy to predict, in terms out specific outcomes, as in where this rocket is going to light in the end. So don’t.

Here’s my weekly forecast to help give you grounding amidst the buzz.

Tarot Forecast (Video Transcript)

Mayday! Mayday! Incoming Tarot forecast!

Hey. This is Dixie from a fool’s journey. I am here to bring to you the tarot forecast, May 1st through 7th, 2017.

So, just gonna hop right in there. And see what we get.

Okay. Starting off the week, uhhhh. I want to say, I have a feeling of second guessing choices and decisions. Like we’re not, folks are not certain that they’re making a good call. I mean, there’s an orientation that’s very clearly towards the future.

But the emotional tenor of the choices that we’re making or how we’re seeing things play out is a little uncomfortable.

Just going into the beginning of the week. Moving in, I would advise you not to overdo the what-if scenarios. Like well, what if this happens and then that happens and then what if this, you know, if this happens and then that happens and…uh huh. Huh uh. That’s not gonna help.

We’ve got the four of cups, reversed. So don’t go arrrgghh, well you know, this and then this and then this, duttutututu. Because you know that’s how it works out anyway. It never is!

And don’t make everything about, well what’s the greater lesson. Just…sigh. Just look to lock in on what’s important to you and let go of the DETAILS about how that happens or if other people are gonna respect it or if it’s gonna dit-tit-dit-ti-tuh.

Like if setting certain boundaries is very important to you, then set the boundaries and stick to them. If getting along is very important to you, then work to get along and let go of the stuff that doesn’t serve that purpose.

The thing is, focus on the goal, not on the means to get there. Okay? If you do that, the week should go pretty well for you.

[bctt tweet=”Focus on the goal, not the means to get there. #OnMyRadar” via=”no”]

And for the take-home, for a take home, advice/overview, message…I have got the seven of pentacles reversed.

What I want to tell you is that not everything you see is going to have a natural progression to what you, where you think it’s going.

So this predicting the future, that everybody’s doing like, “Oh my gosh. We’re on the road to disaster!” Is not helping. And it’s not accurate! More importantly.

So roll it back and keep your focus in the microcosm, not the macrocosm this week and in terms of where you put your emotional energy and I expect it to go pretty well for you.

I hope that helps. Let me know if it works out for you or if these forecasts are helpful because I need to know whether or not I can keep doing them.

Okay? Take care, peace out from Dixie. Mmmmmmmm. The Zen Goddess. Bye-bye!

Think my hair could be bigger? Because I think my hair could be bigger. It was pretty big right after I fixed it. And then, like, five minutes later, kind of went whoosh.

Precise Shot – Tarot October 10 – 16, 2016

My husband and I play Dungeons and Dragons on the computer together.

Some of the projectile weapons in the game have an enhancement called “Precise Shot.” That means the shot hits only who it’s aimed at. No collateral damage.

It’s the kind of thing you may not think about, before you run into that. But not hitting anybody but who you’re aiming at often has a lot of advantages.

That would be handy in real life.

This coming week? We could use some precise shot on our words.

Audio Version of this week’s forecast.

Lots of Swords, so be aware of communications, potential for ouch factor. Contention may be a thing. Sharp assessments and sharp words. So watch your words! And don’t take sharp words from others to heart.

[bctt tweet=”Mud aimed AT you is never ABOUT you. #OnMyRadar” via=”no”]

Monday, Eight of Pentacles: Just keep pluggin’ and do your thing. Think progress, not completion. One step at a time. A little here, a little more, a little more is how it gets done so keep hammering, slow and sure.

Tuesday, Wheel of Fortune rx:  What seems like a bad break may not be. Go with the flow and accept both what looks good and what looks not good as just part of the cycle. Don’t fixate on a single situation thinking it must work out a certain way for your world to feel “okay.” Understand this is the way the world flows. Just roll with it, man.

Wednesday, Four of Swords: It’s okay to take a breather. The world will not implode if you take the night off. Plan some recoup time today and it will serve you well.

Thursday, Queen of Swords: Be judicious with your words and be very clear. Carefully chosen words will keep you from implying more than you mean to say. Don’t script for others. But to make your words most effective, be sparing with them. That will help you reach your objectives.

Friday, Seven of Pentacles: Recognize where you are in the bigger cycle. The progress you’ve been making adds up and factors are lining up. We’re at a waiting phase, while seeds gestate.

Saturday, Knight of Swords rx: Tendency to blurt, speak impulsive. Understand people may be over communicative in a number of ways, so be ready to step back to keep yourself centered. Not a great day for signing contracts so don’t be in a hurry. Let it rest before finalizing.

Sunday, King of Swords rx: Let the dust settle before diving into action.  May have urges to “do something” but you’d be better advise to go slow and easy.

Overview/Advice, Three of Wands: The week in general feels like there’s a lot of gestation, n0t culmination. So be patient, with yourself and circumstances. Continue to expect things to work out fine and they are, so long as you stay out of the way. Staying out of the way is your job right now.

Affirmation: Everything I touch is a success. While it may not initially feel this way, you can see success if you take a longer view. If you see yourself as here for the experience, the learning and the joy, then everything you look at will show itself in that context. Even if the experience is very negative, it can still contribute to your success in many ways. Just like someone coming out of a bad relationship is more focused than ever on having a better relationship the next time around (and value it much more as well).

“I am where I am. It’s fine where I’m am. I’m doing what I need to be and I’m learning what I need to be learning. All is well.”

That attitude will serve you well. Take your time. Don’t be in a hurry to respond or fight. Step back, take care of yourself and take your time. That will move you through the week intact and you’ll be pleased to realize you’ve made some progress even if it didn’t feel like it at the time.

Are your words landing the way you’ve meant?
