07/15/12: Ups and Downs | 2 Cups, 2 Pentacles, Wheel

We’ve got the Two of Cups (Venus in Cancer), Two of Pentacles (Jupiter in Capricorn) and the Wheel of Fortune (Jupiter). First thing I notice about these three cards, there are two Tarot twos—this tells us the principles of balance and polarity is relevant. With a couple of Jupiter associations to the cards themselves, this feels like large energy.  With the suits of Cups and Pentacles, I’m thinking love and money are impacted. And with the Major Arcana involved, don’t be surprised if you see big, important changes, served up without much warning. But as is always the case with the Wheel, whatever goes up must go down and vice versa.

I say this not to scare you. The trick here is staying flexible, okay? There are two sides to every story and before it’s done, you’ll probably understand both of them. Even if you’re in a downturn cycle of the Wheel, know that you can access insight in that regard. And anytime you can get insight, run with it!

Little annoyances are like the rattle in the car—an early warning signal that something’s out of whack. You can take it in to the shop now or wait until the engine locks, ya know? If you consider those frustrations a telegram from God on upcoming lessons. If you can listen and learn fast, take care of any areas you could stand to shore up, you’ll get yourself out of the shop with a much, much lower bill. Listen and learn, man, listen and learn.

So whatever you run into today, be it something you absolutely love or something just to be endured, appreciate whatever you can get out of it and know things are a-moving along.

06/19/12: Simplify! | rev 2 Coins

IMG_2236 (406x600) Simplify. Pare down. Clean. Release. Clear the decks. That’s the order of the day.

We’ve got the reversed Two of Pentacles/Coins (Jupiter in Capricorn). Responsibility is good for us, but you may be juggling too much. There are emotional repercussions for taking on more than you can comfortably handle, even if you can mostly handle it, for now.

Drop what isn’t serving you. Pare down, focus on what’s most closely aligned with the energy you want in your daily life. Let others carry their own loads; it does no one a service to reinforce the idea they are not strong enough to stand on their own. Strength comes through building muscles, physical or energetically speaking.

Look at each ball you are juggling and ask, “Is this what I want to be doing? Is  it in the highest and best good of everyone concerned—including me—if I continue?”

Do you need to pare down?

05/16/12: Back in Whack! | Rev 2 Coins, Justice

When you’re out of whack, overwhelmed with responsibility or feeling weighed down, it’s helpful to break things down and weigh them out.

Damit, Tarot. You’re looking right at me again, ain’t ya?

We’ve got the reversed Two of Pentacles/Coins (Jupiter in Capricorn ) and Justice (Libra)—hey, looky-here…we have two Tarot two’s. Try saying that three times fast. Bonus points if you can after you’ve kicked back a couple White Russians.

Where are you out of whack, and how can you bring it back in line? Stay aware of the demands you place upon yourself. It’s both a right and a responsibility to carefully weigh what you take on and make sure your energy is being directed effectively.

Your energy can’t all be spent on other people’s needs. Likewise, it can’t all be spent on your own. There may be times, when the scales tip a little one way or another, as circumstances require. But an evenly-balanced yoke will stabilize eventually, equal out.  Tarot twos are all about polarities. My needs versus yours. Your wants versus mine. The inside versus the outside.

It’s fine and well to offer support and love to those who need it. But if we juggle their coins, take responsibility for their lives, the scale of Justice tilts, for both parties. The more we carry, the harder it tilts. If it’s enough, we can become chronically worn down because we’ve not been attending to our own business.

Or if we’re on the other side of the coin and allowing our choices to be carried by others, is it time to take some back? Take a step back and weight it out. Think in terms of free will and greatest good. What can you feel good about? What can you do while feeling love? You won’t go far wrong that way.

Do you feel comfortable with the distribution of coins in your life?

05/07/12: Crossroads Crunch | 2 Pentacles, 6 Swords

“The more decisions that you are forced to make alone, the more you are aware of your freedom to choose.” –Thornton Wilder

What do you want? What do you really want? That’s the question.

2_of_Pentacles6_of_SwordsWe’ve got the Two of Pentacles (“Movement, Choices, Decisions”/Sun in Capricorn) and the Six of Swords (“Moving On”/Mercury in Aquarius). It’s one of those pivot points, deciding which direction to go.

The Two of Pentacles shows up when you’ve got your hands full. Life’s moving fast. But in the RWS version, those choppy waters behind show it’s not eternally sustainable.  The Psychic Tarot Oracle emphasizes more the choice required—your time, energy (and lord knows, patience!) is finite while you live in flesh and blood. There is only so much to go around. You have options. It’s your responsibility (Capricorn)  to define and evaluate the options.

It’s time to decide, which coins to juggle, which prize you want. Trying to do it all becomes too much and leads

Once you decide, how you want to spend your stash, then you have to leave behind the other options to move on. It’s far less chaotic and more successful when you’re not trying to overextend your energy.  You have to choose.

Then it gets better. Sunshine’s around the corner.

Are you feeling this, or seeing it?

02/27/12: Decisions, Decisions! | 2 Pentacles

“Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

I know this isn’t what you’re used to seeing for the Two of Pentacles (Jupiter in Capricorn)—no juggling fellow with the seas raging behind him. But  of course, one of the perks of non-traditional decks is getting a new take on an old friend. And in truth, isn’t this what the Two of Pentacles speaks to: choices about how we divide our energy?

I find it especially interesting, the run of Tarot Twos we’ve had lately. Have you noticed? Twos speak to duality, balance, polarities, yin and yang. I would not be surprised to hear many are facing choices or competing demands in their lives, looking to balance it all optimally.

All is not decided, clearly. And that’s fine. Just keep balancing, prioritizing, reviewing, but most of all, keep LIVING. That’s your job right now, and it’s plenty enough.

Are you seeing these Tarot Twos playing out in your life or around you?

02/24/12: Patience, People! | Rev Ace of Wands, 2 of Pentacles

Today’s Tarot is the reversed Ace of Wands (Root of Fire) and Two of Pentacles (Jupiter in Capricorn). If you feel your desires and drives thwarted on the one thing you’d most like to do, don’t let that paralyze you. Just keep working with what you’ve got, managing what you have on hand, and juggling your current responsibilities. Most likely, the time isn’t quite right. Take care of business, and let the Universe provide the serendipity and circumstances you need to move forward.

Is impatience a problem for you?
