09/23/12: Will to Win | Queen of Wands

20120916_183639 (373x620)

A reader told me recently, pay special attention the Queen of Wands. While I’m quite certain she wasn’t thinking Zombie Tarot at the time, the point is still stands.

The Queen of Wands is strong, stubborn, and direct. As Water in Fire, her emotional makeup (Water) is passionate and fierce (Fire). She’s a take-no-prisoners kind of gal.

While she’s ordinarily good-natured, she can also be a touch on the hard-headed side. (I’m being nice here.) Sometimes, that’s a problem. Other times, it’s saving grace. It doesn’t matter much which it is, though, as it’s definitely her nature. Might as well try to change a Leopard’s spots as change this Queen’s focus once she’s set.

Yes, she’ll always lend a hand—even if she has to rip it off a Zombie to do it! So be clear when you engage her energy, because she always means business and isn’t prone to take “no” for an answer.

As advice, she would have us remain strong, focused, determined and brave. She lets us know, we WILL win, we DO win, largely through the focused energy we generate via strength of will. I’d always suggest being on her side if you can help it.

Do you see the Queen of Wands at work in your life?

09/19/12: Ask for It | 5 of Pentacles

20120916_183418 (415x620)

I promise I’ll give you a Zombie break soon. But I got a new deck for my birthday, so of course I have to whip it out for some of the dailies, you know? You’ll be seeing it again around Halloween, naturally.

5_of_PentaclesBut today, we’ve got the Five of Hazards, aka the Five of Pentacles (Mercury in Taurus). As the Rider-Waite version reminds us, this card often speaks to what we do not have. A sense of loss, financial problems, or destitution is prevalent. But on the old-school card, the stricken folks walk right below the church window. Comfort is within.

This zombie survivor is digging through the trash, no doubt searching for a bit of sustenance and I don’t think she’s finding much to be encouraged about. But as she’s focused downward, riveted by her misfortunes, intent upon the “trash” before her, she cannot see what options may be wide open nearby.

That church window (or a clear ally nearby) spells grace.

The thing to know is that help doesn’t arrive directly as a result of  frantic or disheartened efforts. Help IS readily available, however, and invariably comes in the form of grace.

Accessing the help at hand, however, is always a matter of free will. No one will force the survivor to look up for other options. No one will force the hobbling souls to step into the church.

And no one will force you to connect with the Source to get comfort or guidance. That’s something you have to decide all on your own.

There is help. Ask and ye shall receive, you know?

Are you in need of some help?

09/18/12: What are you offering? | 6 of Pentacles

20120916_183405 (386x620)

In the Zombie Tarot’s characteristically twisted style, we’ve get to the heart of the Six of Pentacles: what are you giving? Is it anything other folks would want?

I ask myself that a lot.

This card often speaks to charity, what one shares, and what we have left over to give after we’ve taken care of our own needs. Sometimes, it’s a lot. Sometimes, it’s not so much. But either way, it’s now time to look.

If you want to lure that Zombie in, better offer a choice cut. And if he’s not looking twice, maybe that’s why. (Although I can’t help but think zombies wouldn’t be that particular. Ha!) :ghost:

Are you happy with what you’ve got to give?

09/17/12: Prioritize, first! | Knight of Pentacles

20120916_183351 (387x620)

Okay, so I got a new deck. It’s not quite October, but I’m pulling out the Zombie Tarot anyway. Apologies to anyone who doesn’t dig the Zombies.

Here we’ve got an interesting spin on the Knight of Pentacles, aka the Knight of Hazards. He emphasizes this Knight’s Achilles’ heel—and one that I’m intimately familiar with: getting so caught up in the details, he misses the big picture!

That is kind of what it was like for me, setting up the Secret Garden. How many hours did I mess with getting the emoticons to work instead of making sure the basic forum worked? Getting the layout right (or better)? Blah blah blah. That’s both why I am good at tech work and why I’m sick of it. My Virgo genes have an eye for infinite detail.

Pay attention, YES. But not attention to every little thing. Prioritize, friends. Prioritize. Otherwise, your skill for noting the detail is still just procrastination in a fancy dress.

Do you need to prioritize?
