Emotional Ebb, Flow and Flux: Weekly Tarot Forecast July 13 – 19

You know that little thing that is somehow, in your head, becomes a much bigger thing? A small slight becomes big hurt feelings. And how “that thing” can get sticky, hard to let go? Yeah, that. By the looks of this week’s forecast, I’m not alone in my struggles with releasing at times. I think we’ll have opportunity to let it go this week. There is a clear ebb and flow to the emotional energy in this spread. Work with where you’re at any given time, and remember nothing is “set” here. Flux is the constant, okay?

Monday, Body, Abundance/King of Pentacles reversed: There’s plenty on the table today. Only eat what you are most hungry for, though. There’s possibility to overdo, literally or metaphorically. You may have to choose between multiple, attractive options. Trying to consume everything can preclude full satisfaction of anything. Prioritize, taking on only what you most want (and can fully attend to) is the most satisfying approach.

Tuesday, Immediate Future – Clinging to the Past/Five of Cups reversed: Lingering hurt feelings over long-ago injuries. Melancholy visits. This isn’t intense so much as it is irksome, because this is all “old news” generated moodiness. On the plus side, it’s short-term. Acknowledge the hurt instead of fighting it, as it tends to pass quicker that way. Try distraction, cleaning and counting your blessings.

Wednesday, Friends and Family – Ordinariness/Eight of Pentacles: There is massive comfort in the familiar. If possible, surround yourself with familiar faces and favorite activities. Shared chores especially are satisfying.

Thursday, What to Leave in the Past – The Outsider/Five of Pentacles: Let go of looking to fit in so much, eh? You’re not broken if you don’t. Being one of a kind can be a little lonely, but it’s authentic. Celebrate your uniqueness and appreciate the special light you have to offer because of it. Who wants to be a knockoff, anyway? Love YOU.

Friday, Conscious Desires – Flowering/Queen of Pentacles: There’s a drive to create, especially in the tangible, physical sense. Cooking, artwork, sewing, and crafts are all great examples of rewarding activities to feed this vibe. I get the feeling of being proud of accomplishments and pleased with progress toward mastery.  This is a lovely comeback from yesterday, with focus on where you shine. Awesome!

Saturday, Attitudes and Thoughts – Integration/Temperance reversed: Growth is never linear in my experience. It’s like the waves, washing in and out, in and out. When one learns to meditate, at first distractions dominate the entire process. But if you gently set those intrusions aside and refocus, over and over again, eventually you can train the mind to behave. That’s where progression comes into play. Adapting new perspectives that serve your growth is no different.

Sunday, Friendship – Rebirth/Ten of Swords reversed: Opportunity to get over hurt feelings. Look for a supportive narrative, a workable reframe of perspective, to keep moving forward.

Overview/Advice, Crowning Influences – Stress/Seven of Wands reversed: Stress makes for short tempers and pessimistic perspectives. When you are feeling emotional, overwhelmed or otherwise emotionally indisposed, any kind of concrete, practical activity is extraordinarily helpful and even healing. Upset with a friend? Do laundry. (You can wash the “ouch” right out of your clothes.) Worried about a family member? Run errands or write a to-do list. (Taking care of business reinforces a sense of safety, manageability.) Irritated with your mate? Clean the kitchen. (Purifying the energy you are consuming.) The idea here is both reducing the stress in your world by taking care of something that needs to happen, and introducing the general vibe into your energy field that feels lacking if possible. You don’t need to match the source of stress with a symbolic cure but if you can, by all means do!

Affirmation: The Universe knows me, and the Universe adores me. Yes, sometimes life is hard. Yes, sometimes, stuff goes wrong. I try to keep the little picture versus the big picture in mind. I’m not one to saccharin-coat everything and say, “Oh it’s all for the best,” or “Oh, it’s all part of God’s plan.” Because nobody wants to hear that when they are hurting! I will say, however, we don’t know how individual events fit into the context of our time on the physical plane. We don’t know what sort of goals we might have set before coming down to Earth, in terms of what we wanted to learn and experience. We do know sometimes, things are hard and we do the best we can with them. If you feel a sense of spiritual connect and support, call upon it. Trust that there is always love for you, even when your life doesn’t meet your expectations. Trust you always deserve love and receive love, however it’s delivered.

Just trust, that’s all. A little faith goes a long way.

    This is a good reminder to take care of the practical things, too, while I’m in transition.
