03/23/12: Fitting In? | Devil, 5 Swords

Osho Zen is such an ornery deck. He likes to give me repeats! Like, repeatedly.  Once , doing single card readings online, I got the Eight of Swords about 6 times in a row. Different people, different questions, but the same damn card. AND showed up for the column I wrote the next day. It was insane. This deck hands out Koans and keeps sending me back to meditate on ’em. It’s not the answer itself, it’s what you extract from the process, I guess.

These cards are frequent visitors for me.The Devil and The Five of Swords. These are the last ones that showed up from this deck. Ha!

That lion? He doesn’t belong. But nobody seems to notice—least of all, him.

Look at the company you’re keeping. Not what they say, but what it feels like to be around them. Does their energy reflect what you want in your life? Does the way you express your own energy reflect what you’d like to share with those closest to you? Vibes cross-pollinate, you know. Remember this stuff helps point to us, a roadmap of being the person we consciously choose to be. You’re defining a win.

Do you fit in with those around you?

  1. In my local environment, I don’t fit in. However! We can draw the perfect fit to us and know that we belong, even if that means cultivating online relationships. There’s someone for everybody.

    • Lovely sentiment, cj. One thing I’ve personally found about a sense of fitting in, a lot of it has to do with my own comfort level. That was a pretty long-earned lesson for me. I can be unlike the people around me and still be at home/dixiblog/domains/afoolsjourney.com/public_html in my environment, you know?

      • Comfort level is what it’s all about. I’m at home/dixiblog/domains/afoolsjourney.com/public_html in my environment since my sense of self isn’t compromised, but I don’t fit in with the general population. I’m one of the town oddities.
